Stelling left fans in stitches when he celebrated the all-too-rare news of his beloved Hartlepool’s goals on Soccer Saturday.
But the sports pundit confessed during the breakfast show on Tuesday he was a Burnley fan as a young boy.
And admitted the only reason he supported the Clarets was because the club gifted him free souvenirs.
He said: “I used to be a boyhood Burnley fan.

“They’re not my team anymore. I love Burnley.
“The reason I supported Burnley was because as a kid you used to write to all the big teams and ask for programmes and any free memorabilia and most of them just ignored you completely.
“But Burnley always sent back a load of stuff. I didn’t even know where Burnley was!”
And on Tuesday he received yet another gift from his boyhood club -a heartwarming video message from former Burnley ace Frank Casper.

How Newcastle could look after January with FIVE signings including David de Gea following Nick Pope injury blow

NEWCASTLE could sign FIVE players this January with a new goalkeeper the highest priority.Current No1 Nick Pope has suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder and there are fears he could miss the rest of the season.

When players return from injury, this could be Newcastle line-up after January deals
Eddie Howe is set to rely on Martin Dubravka between the sticks until the January transfer window opens.
But with backing from mega-rich Saudi owners, Newcastle could splash the cash again with several players on their radar.
Extra numbers are needed at St James’ Park amid an injury crisis that sees ten first-team players in the treatment room.
And the fixtures are coming thick and fast with the Toon still going strong in four competitions.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
They are eyeing a second successive top four finish in the league, remain in the Carabao Cup and face a derby against bitter rivals Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, they hope to be in the Champions League, or at least Europa League at the turn of the year.
Both David De Gea and Aaron Ramsdale have both been linked with replacing Pope.
The ex-Manchester United stopper is still a free agent after ending his 12-year stay at Old Trafford.

Newcastle could also try to sign Aaron Ramsdale and Kalvin Phillips
Speculation suggests Newcastle will consider making De Gea an offer if Dubravka fails to impress in December.
Reports also claim that Ramsdale could be keen on leaving Arsenal after losing the No1 spot to David Raya.
The Gunners do not want to let him go in January, but England boss Gareth Southgate has already stressed his place in the Euros squad could be in jeopardy if he’s not playing regularly.
Further up the pitch, Ruben Neves looks set to join the Magpies on loan.
Premier League clubs failed to ban sides signing players from teams they share owners with.
And it makes Neves’ move to Newcastle straightforward as he is at fellow PIF-owned club Al-Hilal.
Another option to allow for rotation in midfield amid Sandro Tonali’s ten-month ban is Manchester City outcast Kalvin Phillips.
With the Euros on the horizon, he could want to leave the Etihad as he has only played 89 Prem minutes this season.
But Juventus are supposedly ahead of Newcastle in the race to sign him.
With Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy both injured, the club may also want a new winger to improve squad depth.
Reports from Spain claim the club could make a £35million bid for Ferran Torres.
The Barcelona star could be sold amid the Catalan giants’ financial difficulties.
He could compete with Miguel Almiron and the on-fire Anthony Gordon, who has scored six goals and notched three assists this season.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have long-term interest in PSG striker Hugo Ekitike.
    Read More on The Sun
A loan deal has been proposed in January although the French club would rather sell the 21-year-old permanently with him surplus to requirements in Paris.
Newcastle’s interest in Ekitike dates back to 2022 and he has been linked with other Prem clubs like West Ham.

I won it all at Man Utd and was there for Keane’s tunnel row with Vieira – Neville made our captain ‘go into overdrive’

JOHN O’SHEA has opened up on his front row seat to the infamous tunnel row between Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira. It was in 2005 that then-reigning Premier League champions Arsenal welcomed Manchester United to Highbury.
Roy Keane during his infamous row with Patrick Vieira
O’Shea celebrates with Rooney after scoring in the 4-2 victory
And Vieira set the fiery scenes early by confronting Gary Neville over a previous clash the right-back had with Jose Antonio Reyes at Old Trafford.
As the two lined up before the game in the tunnel, Keane furiously hurled expletives at his opposite number Vieira.
But O’Shea has revealed how a “clever” Neville was to thank for their captain’s furious blast.
He said on Off The Ball: “I was on the bench that night.

“But the best thing was how clever Gary Neville was just before kick-off in the dressing room.
“He just happens to quietly mention, ‘Patrick Vieira’s pinned me up inside the tunnel, saying I’m going to get it tonight after kicking Reyes up at Old Trafford.
“Next thing, everyone’s like, ‘What, what happened?’ and of course Roy was just stone silent.
“The brain just going into overdrive thinking okay, here we go. Didn’t say a word to anybody and then walked out and did what he did.”

United went on to win the match 4-2, with O’Shea scoring.
Afterwards, Keane was asked about his row with Vieira.
He said: “I don’t want to go into too much detail but Patrick Vieira’s 6ft 4, starts having a go on Gary Neville. I said, ‘Come and have a go at me’. Simple as that.
“If players want to intimidate some of my team-mates, let’s have a go at some of the other players.
“They think Gary Neville’s an easy target. But I’m not having it.”
Chelsea won the league that year but Arsenal avenged their 4-2 loss by beating United on penalties in the FA Cup final.
Vieira left the Gunners the following season while Keane was ousted by United soon after and joined Celtic.
The pair are both now in retirement with Keane working alongside Neville for Sky while O’Shea is part of Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham coaching staff.
Together at United, O’Shea, Rooney and Neville won the Premier League and Champions League.

ERIK TEN HAG insists he has the backing of his players and says performances prove it.While Manchester United sunk to defeat at Newcastle, the manager pointed to the victory at Everton and draw away to Galatasaray before that to back his belief.

So are the players really behind him?
Ten Hag said: “Oh yes, I am sure.
“You can see for instance the comeback against Brentford, the Burnley game, the Fulham game, every time the team is there and have shown great character, great determination, resilience so we are together.
“You can see you can’t play such great football as we did recently without unity.

“We had a week of two good performances and one bad performance so from there we carry on, the team is in a good direction.
“We played very good football and scored very good goals against Galatasaray and Everton.
“Against Newcastle, we didn’t play great, we knew that, we were not happy with that performance, but we stayed in the game and had two good opportunities to get a point.
“But we are not robots, if you play three games in six days, tough games and by the end the fatigue can be an issue.”

The body language of some players at St James’ was also an issue, pointing to a sense of disunity.
There are also those not in the team who will be unhappy.
But Ten Hag, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s home clash with Chelsea, said it was normal.
He said: “Of course there are always in every team players who are not playing, who are not as happy.
“That is normal, you have to wait for the chance and that can come but there are no issues.”
Ten Hag says that he has an open dialogue with all his players and some have challenged him over how the team plays and selections.
He said: “Maybe one or two. If the players have a different opinion of course I will listen.
“I listen always to my players and I give them always opportunities to speak.
“But the majority want to play like this: proactive, dynamic, brave, that is what they want.

“You can see the players are behind it because of the performances against Everton and Galatasaray, we are really improving.
“We are on a journey, a route, we know we are in transition but we are in the right direction, we construct a team, develop it, the team is progressing, young players coming in and you see the potential how they can contribute to a successful Manchester United team for the future.”

And now the most valuable clashes in the league’s history have been revealed.
The two starting XI’s as Liverpool took on Man City in the 2019-20 campaign worth a staggering £1.3bn combined.
Jurgen Klopp’s men won the mega-money clash 3-1 at Anfield, with the goals coming from Fabinho, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Bernardo Silva.
Liverpool’s team that day are valued at an incredible £707m.

The biggest fees came via Virgil van Dijk, who they purchased from Southampton in 2017 for £80m and goalkeeper Alisson, signed from Roma a year later for £67m.
Luckily, Trent Alexander-Arnold cost them nothing as he came through the Reds’ academy and Andy Robertson also cost a relatively cheap £8m from Hull six years ago.
Both are now up their with the best in their positions.
Man City’s side was worth £604m with the largest amounts coming from the £55m they spent on Kevin De Bruyne and the £63m for Rodri.

Over £1bn was spent on players in all ten of the games
Pep Guardiola could have made his starting XI even more pricey but decided to leave £120m duo Joao Cancelo and Riyad Mahrez on the bench.
Matches featuring Man City and Liverpool dominate the top ten, while Manchester United don’t appear on the list at all, despite spending close to £400m on players in the past two years.
Tottenham feature regularly with £63m man Tanguy Ndombele and £42m signing Davinson Sanchez bumping up the cost of Spurs’ XI.
Harry Kane came through the club’s academy but left for Bayern Munich for £104m showing his value.
Since Chelsea were purchased by Todd Boehly, the club has spent over £1billion on transfers and it is therefore no surprise to see the Blues make the rich list.
Their thrilling 4-4 draw against City earlier this season makes the cut with a combined £1.15bn value of players in the starting XI’s that day.
Also coming from this campaign, the 1-1 draw between the current champions and Liverpool completes the top ten.
The players on show last month were worth a combined £1.14bn.
