Silva, 39, is renowned as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has made 137 appearances for Chelsea across four seasons after moving from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020.
But with his contract at Stamford Bridge set to expire next summer, the centre-back’s future at the club is uncertain.
The West London side will be short of defensive options if Silva departs, as Trevoh Chalobah’s Chelsea spell comes to an end too.

And BILD reporter Christian Falk has confirmed the Blues have their eye on Bayern Leverkusen defender Tah.
He tweeted: “TRUE ✅ Chelsea is interested in centre-back Jonathan Tah (27) of Bayer Leverkusen.
“Tah has a release clause in his contract (til 2025). He could be the successor of Thiago Silva (39). New Agent of Tah: Pini Zahavi.”

The 27-year-old has been a key player at the German side but his contract has a release clause in place until 2025.
Since 2015, when he joined from Hamburg in the second division, Tah has been one of the most impressive defenders in the Bundesliga.
He has made 321 appearances for Leverkusen who are in fine form to secure the league title to dethrone last year’s winners Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen will be eager to tie him down with another deal but if they can’t agree terms over a new contract they risk losing their star defender. More

The little-known rule that allowed unusual kit clash in Luton vs Arsenal game leaving fans baffled

THE Premier League’s computer system allowed an unusual kit clash at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that Luton and Arsenal appeared to be wearing virtually identical shorts.
Some fans complained of a kit clash during the gameCredit: Rex
Luton’s black shorts looked no different on TV from the similar colours worn by the Gunners.
With Luton wearing orange shirts and socks and Arsenal dressed in mainly yellow, the two strips were surprisingly closely aligned.
Normal regulations impose strict kit rules to prevent match officials, spectators or TV viewers being confused.
But League rules DO allow teams to wear the same colour shorts or socks if there is “sufficient contrast” across the kits.

The strips worn in Tuesday night’s seven-goal thriller passed those requirements after being run through Prem software.
That technology has been designed to ensure the kits selected for any match are “identifiably different colours” and also to determine the “best possible kit combination” for any match.
Some fans online expressed difficulty with telling the kits apart.
One wrote on X: “I feel our away kits clash with Luton’s orange kit more than our blue/green third. Would like to see us wear it more.”

There was hope Tominyasu would be passed fit to feature at the Premier League clash against Luton on Tuesday night but was left out of the squad altogether.
Mikel Arteta confirmed the Japanese international’s blow after their last-minute 4-3 win thanks to Declan Rice.
He said: “We had a scan and it’s not good news.
“He’s got an injury in his calf and he’s going to be out for a while.”

Another added: “Worst possible time to lose him as well ffs. Gws.”

While a fourth said: “We’re very very close to having Cedric start a game for us.”
With Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey already out Arteta’s only fit senior defensive options are Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko, William Saliba, Gabriel, Jakub Kiwior and Cedric Soare.
Tomiyasu had only just reached his form again as he was sidelined at the end of last term after suffering a brutal knee injury.
He had been covering for both White and Oleksandr Zinchenko as they returned to full fitness making him a valuable member of Arteta’s squad.
But luckily for the Spaniard White has started to reach his form again after an injury concern meaning Arsenal are covered at right-back.
However, the Gunners have a busy festive period as they have six fixtures across December.
This includes a Champions League group stage showdown with PSV Eindhoven and a clash with top spot contenders Liverpool. More

Sancho claimed in a now deleted social media post that he has been made a “scapegoat” by his manager after he was left out the squad for a trip to Arsenal in September.
The 23-year-old has since refused to apologise and has therefore been banished from training and can’t even use the same facilities as his team-mates.
There has been reports that Juventus could offer Sancho an escape route with United keen to sell.
However, new claims from Tuttosport say that the Italian side have decided to back out of a January move.

This is supposedly because Sancho will cost too much.
Juventus would rather prioritise a deal for Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi.
But their Serie A rivals do not want to let their main man go during the season.
Attention could then turn to Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov instead.
