Man Utd outcast Jadon Sancho thrown lifeline as RB Leipzig enter transfer race – and fans all want same swap deal

Following the club’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, Ten Hag claimed that Sancho had been left out of the squad due to his performances in training.
However, the England star immediately hit back with a social media statement and argued that he was made a “scapegoat”.
Sancho has since been removed from the Man Utd WhatsApp group and told to train separately from the first team.
He is not expected to return to the squad any time soon, so club officials are determined to offload him in January.

And according to BILD, RB Leipzig are interested.
Man Utd are expected to sell Sancho for a fraction of the £73million fee they paid for him in 2021.
However, his £350,000-a-week wages are understood to be a problem for RB Leipzig.
United fans are now calling for the club to go for a swap deal including Lois Openda, who has scored 14 goals in 24 games so far this season.

Borussia Dortmund have also held an interest in bringing Sancho back in recent months.
The Bundesliga giants had been keen on the prospect of a swap deal including Donyell Malen.
However, SunSport exclusively revealed last week that Dortmund had cooled their interest.
A source said: “The situation with Sancho is turning into a nightmare. Club, manager and player are keen for a deal to happen in January.
“They’ve been working flat out to try to get something in place. A loan move is in the interest of all parties but, so far, nobody has come in with a firm offer.
“Dortmund were interested but there is a concern that Sancho won’t be fit enough to hit the ground running, which is putting them off.”

There was interest in the 23-year-old from Juventus, who have since reportedly pulled out the race.

A new dawn is coming for the popular BBC highlights show after Ian Wright announced his exit next summer.
The Arsenal legend is stepping away to spend more time with his family at the weekend, while also pursuing a career in acting.
And it’s no surprise considering how tough it can be to get the show on the air.
Match of the Day goes out live on BBC One at 10.25pm on Saturdays.

The following day sees Match of the Day 2 go out at 11.05pm.
And Micah Richards admits it can be a real struggle to get going at that time of night.
The Premier League title winner with Man City is a regular face on the show.

With the show being filmed at the Dock10 studios at MediaCityUK in Salford, Lineker and his pals turn up in time for the start of Saturday’s 12.30pm fixture.
The team stayed glued to the screens for the 3pm kick-offs, and continue into evening for the 5.30pm late game.
But the hard work only gets started at that point.
Host Lineker is required to sort out the script and even film a teaser trailer to be shown before the 9pm news.
The running order of the show is decided as producers scramble to pick between games.
And pundits like Shearer, Wright and Richards must also sort out the various clips for analysis.
Match of the Day is then broadcast live to the nation and runs for nearly 90 minutes.
Richards revealed the process can be exhausting, admitting he’s almost dozing off by the time it’s 7pm.
But Lineker reckons that although the team are tired before the show goes out, the adrenaline of live TV kicks them all into gear.
You get to about 7pm and your eyes just start going!Micah Richards
Richards said: “The energy on MOTD, the logistics, how do you get your energy at 10.30pm at night?
“I come in the door at 12.30pm and am buzzing, loving all the games, feel on top of the world, wow what a job!
“How privileged are we to watch every single game, it’s brilliant. But you get to about 7pm and your eyes just start going!
“But we’ve not finished and we’ve got to do the analysis that keeps your mind ticking over. I start flagging at 9pm, 9.15pm.”
Lineker then got laughs from Richards and Shearer by responding: “When I’ve watched you, you start flagging at 10pm, 10.45pm!”
He continued: “You’re right, that period in the evening after the 5.30pm game, 7.30pm onwards, a lot of work happens after.
“You’re sorting your analysis, I’m fiddling with the script. I write words for the trail.
“That 8.30pm-9.30pm, 10pm, you do just feel like ‘I want to go to bed, it’s my bedtime’, especially at my age.
“It’s a very regimented show, sometimes six, seven, eight games, you’ve got to make sure timings are right.

Jim Ratcliffe ‘to complete £1.25bn Man Utd investment before Christmas’ but should fans expect much in their stockings?

The Ineos chief and lifelong Red Devils supporter is stumping up the mega cash for a 25 per cent stake in the Old Trafford club.
Talks have rumbled on for months but now the Daily Mail claim it could finally get over the line and announced this week in a big festive boost.
However, it will likely take between six and eight weeks for approval to come through.
And to make matters worse, the report adds that immediate big-name transfers and major improvements to Old Trafford are off the cards.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
SunSport exclusively revealed that Ratcliffe wants to oversee a huge clearout at United – both in the dressing room and the boardroom.
Richard Arnold is already on his way out as the hunt for a new CEO continues with Dave Brailsford, Jean-Claude Blanc and Dougie Freedman in line.
On the pitch, Antony and Anthony Martial as well as outcasts Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek could all be let go if deals can be agreed.
But due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, United cannot afford to stump up huge transfer fees to improve the squad in January – despite calls for improvements across the pitch after a stuttering season that has featured 12 defeats from 25 matches and an early Champions League exit.

And in a further blow for hopeful Manchester United fans, work will not begin on updating the stadium just yet.
Part of the £1.25bn investment includes £250million dedicated to the infrastructure with Old Trafford now crumbling, decaying and leaking.
But while sorting out these problems remains a top priority for Ratcliffe, it is understood those plans are being shelved for the time being.
United employed architects to draw up various ways of improving Old Trafford – including a full demolition and rebuilding job.
But the prices of materials have soared over the last year, pushing up the costs of any construction work.
And it means the £250m would not even be enough just to replace the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand.
Instead, the Mail report suggests Old Trafford could be given a “facelift”.
That may include some paintwork around the ground and improved executive suites which in turn will help to drive up much-needed corporate revenue.

David Raya opens up on battle with Arsenal team-mate Aaron Ramsdale and claims ‘I’ve made him a better goalkeeper’

Arteta has stuck with Raya despite several mistakes
Raya has made several mistakes since joining the North London club, with three of them leading to goals.
But Arteta has stuck with him in goal, including the 2- 0 win over Brighton last time out.
When asked if the battle with Ramsdale has made him better, Raya replied: “Of course, and I think I have made him a better goalkeeper, just pushing each other in training, trying to help each other.
“If we see when we are training that we can help each other, that’s how we are and that’s how we do.

“That’s the goalkeeper union from the outside that you see.”
Chelsea are preparing to step up their pursuit of Ramsdale after Robert Sanchez was injured at Everton last week.
Mikel Arteta is said to be reluctant to let him leave in the mid-season window as it would leave him with 21-year-old Karl Hein as his back-up keeper.
And Raya is relishing the competition with the Stoke-born 25-year-old at the Emirates.

He added: “He is a top, top goalkeeper and a top, top team-mate. I hope he can say the same about me!

“We have a good relationship, especially as we push each other in every training session. That is going to make us better and it is going to make the team better.”
The Gunners moved to top of the Premier League table after Sunday’s win over Brighton.
They face a huge chrimbo clash against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend with both teams challenging for the title this term.
Raya isn’t fazed about the Merseyside trip despite Arsenal’s torrid record against the Reds, with them winning only one of their last 14 games at Anfield.
He said: “It is a massive game for any of the top teams playing against Liverpool away from home – with Anfield and the atmosphere.
“It is a top, top game and we have to focus on ourselves, focus on the three points and do the best to get them.”
And Raya won’t be changing up Arteta’s risky new method of playing out from the back at Anfield – despite it causing some tension among supporters.

The ex-Brentford goalkeeper said: “Pressure is what you put on yourself. I don’t think [about] the pressure from the outside, because I don’t listen to the outside world.
