Chelsea ‘could sell Conor Gallagher to seal Ivan Toney transfer’ – and star could be worth MORE than Mudryk under FFP

CHELSEA will demand £50million for Conor Gallagher in January, according to reports.Gallagher, 23, has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months despite captaining the Blues on 10 separate occasions.

Chelsea are willing to sell him next month in a bid to balance the books and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
And according to ESPN, they want £50m for the midfielder.
Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham have all been linked with a move for Gallagher.
The Hammers, Spurs and Everton all failed to sign him with bids of around £40m this summer.

But a slightly higher offer next month could persuade Chelsea to green-light a sale.
The Blues are determined to sign a new striker in January, with Ivan Toney understood to be on Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer wishlist.
However, they will need to raise funds by selling players first – and offloading Gallagher would come with the most efficient financial benefits because he is a home-grown player.
Brentford want up to £80m for Toney, with Arsenal also interested.

Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent players this season
Gallagher has been with the Blues since the age of eight.
After graduating from Chelsea’s academy he was sent out on loan four times before finally breaking into the first team last year.
The midfielder has since made 65 appearances for the West London side.
He was handed the captain’s armband for the first time in September following injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
And Pochettino is now eager for him to stay at the club.
Discussing Gallagher’s future, the Chelsea boss said: “It is a decision between the player and the club, to be or not to be.
“He is in the starting XI nearly every game and one of the captains. For me, he is the type of player that the club need to have.
“He is important because of his Chelsea values. He came from the academy, he loves the club and he is very committed.
“You can see that on the pitch – he runs, he plays, he fights. He does everything to win. He is a really important player that the coaching staff want to have on the team.” More

Jurgen Klopp suggests some Liverpool fans should give up tickets for Arsenal game after flat atmosphere against West Ham

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that some supporters should give up their tickets for their upcoming clash with Arsenal after last night’s flat atmosphere. The Reds thrashed West Ham 5-1 to secure a Carabao Cup semi-final showdown with Fulham.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and a Curtis Jones brace were all on the scoresheet in the club’s biggest win of the season.
However, their manager could not resist taking a shot at the noise created by the crowd in attendance – despite it being just the second time there were 57,000 people in Anfield since the opening of their new stand.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville had initially criticised the Liverpool crowd after Sunday’s goalless draw with the Red Devils, saying: “The atmosphere was the worst I’ve seen at Anfield ever.
“I’ve always been complimentary of Liverpool fans. It’s the biggest crowd they’ve had here in 60 or 70 years but it’s the quietest crowd I’ve seen in this game.”

And ahead of Saturday’s top of the table Premier League showdown with Arsenal, Klopp was no more complimentary following the win over the Hammers.
He said: “In the first half, when the boys played exceptionally, I was not overly happy with the atmosphere behind me.
“I asked people: ‘What do they want?’ We changed a lot of things and we dominated West Ham like crazy and missed chances. If I was in the stands, I would be on my toes, 1,000 per cent.
“I don’t know if the Man United game was that bad that we have to say sorry we didn’t smash them?

“We need Anfield on Saturday. Arsenal didn’t play this week. Anyone who knows anything about them knows they will be prepared, so we need Anfield on their toes from the first second, without me having an argument with the opposition coach.
“If it is too much football in December, if you are not in the right shape, give your ticket to somebody else.”
After Klopp’s remarks, many believed they were a deliberate plot by the Kop boss to whip the crowd into frenzy for the crunch clash.
But Neville could not resist poking more fun on social media as he shared footage of the German’s press conference and tagged it: “Those Liverpool fans having a pop at me about the atmosphere v United are a bit quiet this morning.” More

The 34 players who could get Christmas off if they get yellow card including Arsenal star, Enzo Fernandez & Joelinton

A WHOLE host of Premier League stars are on the verge of potentially getting Christmas off. While the rest of us stuff ourselves on Christmas Day lunch and follow that up by finishing off the leftovers on Boxing Day, that is not the case for our top-flight players.

Some even have to leave their loved ones behind on the most special day of the year in order to travel to an away game.
Boxing Day is traditionally one of the most looked forward to and action-packed days in the UK footy calendar.
However, not every player always looks forward to it – and some have even been believed to have intentionally got suspended in order to get it off and stay at home for the family festivities.
As it happens, there are currently 34 men in the Premier League that are walking tightropes ahead of the next round of fixtures – starting with tonight’s game between Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Prem rules state that if a player gets booked five times before the 19-game halfway mark of the campaign then they will receive an automatic one-game ban.
With most teams just having two matches to go before they reach that point when all booking tallies will reset, managers across the country will be desperate to keep all of their men available.
But with a huge list of players one card away from a ban, it seems almost inevitable that at least some will pick up a caution over the next four days and miss out on their club’s Boxing Day fixture.
And there are several big names amongst the lengthy list of those on the verge of suspension – including those battling it out in the title race.

Former Chelsea and West Ham wonderkid chased by two Premier League sides ahead of January transfer window

He signed a four-and-a-half year deal upon his arrival at the Stadium of Light and has since made 35 first team appearances.
But the Frenchman is already attracting interest from elsewhere.
According to the Standard, both Fulham and Crystal Palace are exploring the possibility of a January swoop.
Nottingham Forest are also understood to be interested.

However, Sunderland are determined to keep Ekwah beyond the upcoming transfer window.
Fulham view the youngster as a potential long-term replacement for Joao Palhinha, who is expected to leave Craven Cottage soon despite signing a new contract.
Meanwhile, signing a new midfielder is at the top of Roy Hodgson’s priority list.
Ekwah was snapped up by Chelsea’s academy in 2018 following a year with Nantes.

Arsenal chasing £52m-rated Sporting Lisbon star Goncalo Inacio after spate of defensive injuries

ARSENAL are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio. However, SunSport understands the Gunners are unlikely to be active in the January window in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

Mikel Arteta’s side have battled several injury issues already this season, especially in defence with full-backs Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu out until the new year.
Arteta and Arsenal are content with the defensive options they currently have, and would only be prepared to spend again should another serious injury crop up.
Yet having splashed the cash in the summer – forking out a combined £170m on Declan Rice and Kai Havertz – the North Londoners would prefer to stick rather than twist.
Centre back duo William Saliba and Gabriel are fully fit for now, while Jakub Kiwior and Ben White also provide alternative solutions in that position.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
However, Arteta is likely to prioritise reinforcements at the back in the summer with 22-year-old central defender Inacio someone the North Londoners are monitoring.
Inacio made his senior Sporting debut as a teenager in October 2020 and has risen to become one of the most exciting prospects in the Primeira Liga.
He has also broken into the Portugal national team under Roberto Martinez, earning his first cap back in March.
Consequently, Inacio has a £52m release clause in a contract that expires in June 2027 and the Sporting are prepared to hold out for an offer close to that value.

The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested in the player, yet Sporting are expecting to keep hold of one of their prized assets until at least the summer.
Tomiyasu and crocked midfielder Thomas Partey are targeting a January 7 return to face Liverpool in the FA Cup third round before heading off on international duty.
Tomiyasu [calf] will represent Japan in the Asian Cup from mid-January, while Partey [thigh] could be away for a month as he competes in the African Cup of Nations for Ghana.
Mohamed Elneny picked up a calf knock away at PSV in the Champions League group stages earlier this month but should also be back soon ahead of Egypt’s AFCON campaign.
Timber – who has been out since August with an ACL injury – is hopeful of being involved in Arsenal’s Champions League last 16 first leg tie at Porto in mid-February. More

And now the Telegraph claim that he is set to undergo major surgery in Finland.
James is expected to be unavailable for three to four months, meaning his place Gareth Southgate’s 23-man England squad for Euro 2024 is in jeopardy.
The 24-year-old has already missed 11 games so far this season due to injury.
He suffered a torn hamstring against Liverpool on the opening day of the season which sidelined him for over two months.

James returned to action in October, but was limited to just seven appearances before being hit with another setback.
The defender’s career has been marred by several hamstring issues since he made his professional debut in 2019.
However, he is hopeful that the proposed operation in Finland will help to prevent them in future.
Should his recovery go to plan, James could return to action in March.

Pellistri took the No28 as it was one of the few available when he joined the club in 2020.
But he is now more than happy to keep the jersey despite their being previous opportunities to swap.
Ronaldo has become synonymous with the No7 during his career, wearing it for Portugal, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr.
But the Portuguese legend broke through at Sporting Lisbon as a teenager with the No28 on his back.

Although Pellistri admits he was not aware of that when he picked the same number.
The 22-year-old Uruguayan said: “When I came here to Manchester, I was playing in Penarol and I had the No10.
“So the two plus the eight, they sum up to ten. So that’s why I take it.
“Later, I realised that number was the one Ronaldo also made his debut in.

Ex-Premier League star reveals ‘ridiculous’ Man Utd legend bet team-mates £100 he could do 50 keep-ups stood in a BIN

And during his spell in the Premier League Yorke used to show off his skills by standing in a bin in the dressing room, according to his former Aston Villa team-mate Alan Wright.
The defender revealed Yorke would make £100 bets with his team-mates that he could do 50 keep-ups without falling out of the bin – and he never failed.
Wright told the I Had Trials Once Podcast, sponsored by bet365: “I was at Aston Villa at the same time as Dwight Yorke and he was such a great player.
“He had a ridiculous amount of skill too. He used to stand in a small, square bin in the dressing room and any time a new player came in he would bet them £100 that he could do 50 keep-ups with his head without falling out of the bin!

“Obviously everyone took the bet because it seems impossible – but I never saw him fail to do it. When he went to Manchester United and played with Andy Cole it was just amazing – what a combination that was.”
Yorke now earns his income as a pundit for beIN Sports where he recently clashed with Andy Gray.
The 52-year-old claimed Erik ten Hag may have instructed Bruno Fernandes to pick up a yellow card against Bournemouth – even though it meant he was suspended for the Liverpool clash.
Yorke also suggested Ten Hag was partly responsible for the booking as he failed to substitute the United captain.

Former Aston Villa, Wolves and Everton striker Gray responded to Yorke’s comments by saying: “But you don’t take your captain off, do you? Not if you trust him not to be stupid.”
With Jason McAteer backing Yorke up, the Man Utd icon replied: “In that situation you take him off.”
Gray then added: “No, that’s a cop out. He knows as captain of his club, the biggest game in the country is coming up.
“Why is he captain if he can’t have the responsibility of behaving himself?” More
