Spurs outcast Dier has started just one match in all competitions this season – a 2-1 defeat against Wolves in November.
Despite centre-back Mickey van de Ven out injured with a hamstring issue, 29-year-old Dier has still struggled for game time.
Postecoglou has chosen to rely on full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in a central role with the English defender still out of the picture.
According to ESPN, Dier has been told he can find a new club this month as his Tottenham contract is set to expire this summer.

And David Moyes’ Hammers are among the clubs monitoring the defender alongside his old side Sporting Lisbon.
West Ham are keen to sign another defender as Angelo Ogbonna, who turns 36 in May, is edging the end of his career with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed Spurs’ upcoming deal with 21-year-old Dragusin to happen this week, meaning the England international could be shown the exit door sooner than expected.
The transfer guru tweeted: “Radu Dragusin has accepted all details of Tottenham contract proposal as personal terms have been agreed, as revealed last week.

“Despite public statements on new deal, he’s now waiting for Spurs. Spurs and Genoa remain in talks to get the deal done very soon.”
Dier arrived at Spurs in 2014 on a £4million transfer after spending his youth and early senior career at Sporting.
Since he arrived in North London he has made over 365 appearances for the club.
If Dier has hopes of reaching Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad for Germany this summer he will need to pick up more playing time.
The England star has 49 caps for the Three Lions featuring in the Euro 2016 squad and 2018 and 2022 World Cup team. More

When offered a welcome and asked what he thought about the torrential rain, he laughed and said: “I’ll have to get used to it!”
Ratcliffe first walked into the main entrance smiling protected from the Manchester rain by a security guard wielding an umbrella.
The Ineos boss, who agreed a deal on Christmas Eve to take a 25 per cent share in the club and to take control of football operations, met with key United staff including interim CEO Patrick Stewart and Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche.
The group – which didn’t include any members of the Glazer family – took a working lunch and spent time discussing initial ideas to improve United’s fortunes on the pitch.

Sir Jim and his Ineos team can’t have an active role in running United until the deal is ratified next month.
He must first pass the Premier League’s fit and proper person test and his acquisition of Class-A shares is approved by the New York Stock Exchange.
But Ratcliffe’s team will continue meetings at United’s Carrington training base on Wednesday where he may meet under fire manager Erik ten Hag.
Ratcliffe’s right hand man Sir Dave Brailsford – also sporting director at chemical company Ineos – met Ten Hag at Carrington on Sunday.

Brailsford has also watched United’s last two games from the stands and was guided around Carrington by United’s interim chief executive Patrick Stewart and football director John Murtough.
Ineos chief exec Jean-Claude Blanc is expected to take over as United CEO and Brailsford could appoint a new football director.
But Stewart and Murtough are still expected to have roles in the new set-up.
Ten Hag’s future, though, remains in doubt with SunSport revealing Ratcliffe has lined up ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter as a replacement.
United sit seventh in the league with only one win in their last five.
But at the end of December, Ten Hag did speak out to insist he will be given a chance under United’s new ownership.
He said: “They want to work with me, I want to work with them, we will have the conversations, the meetings, we will see.”
The Dutchman was recently pictured spending New Year in Barcelona with his family.
But he looks to return in time for crunch talks with his new boss.

The 23-year-old has not played for United since August after his public falling out with Erik ten Hag.
With the transfer window now open again, multiple clubs are monitoring Sancho’s situation, report the Daily Mail.
West Ham are said to be amongst those clubs, although David Moyes is reluctant to take him on loan.

Sancho’s £250,000-per-week wages are also a reported stumbling block for the move.
Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and RB Leipzig have all been linked with Sancho in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Saudi side Al-Ettifaq failed with a deadline day loan bid in the summer.

Sancho’s United career appears to be over with his feud with Ten Hag still unresolved.
However, he does appear as the January player in the Red Devils’ new 2024 calendar.
Despite that, the Englishman could soon be out the door, with the club reportedly prepared to rip up his contract, which expires in 2026.

West Ham 0 Brighton 0: Seagulls bag first clean sheet of season in London Stadium snoozefest

WHICHEVER Sky Sports bigwig opted to whack the darts on ahead of this deserves a raise. The Premier League would not have been happy to see their greatest cheerleader opt for the Ally Pally action on their Main Event channel last night, but no one could blame them as West Ham and Brighton served up a display which suggested they were all thoroughly fed up with festive football.
West Ham and Brighton played out a goalless draw at the London StadiumCredit: AFP

It was a night where, with illness, injury and suspension abound, both managers would have shaken on a draw beforehand and moved on – the point taking Brighton above Manchester United into seventh.
Both David Moyes and Roberto De Zerbi had to shuffle things somewhat, with 16 first team players absent between the two clubs.
For the Hammers it was their first test without the threat of Mohammed Kudus, who has a hamstring injury but will join Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations shortly. Moyes was also missing playmaker Lucas Paqueta with a knee injury and both were sorely missed as Alphonse Areola starred for the hosts making eight crucial stops.
West Ham being the first team who failed to score against the Seagulls in 23 Prem games does not bode well for their chances without Kudus.
De Zerbi was without nine players himself, the Italian was at least able to welcome Adam Webster back from injury, making his first appearance since November.
The Seagulls did, however, have to start veteran James Milner at left-wing, the ex-Liverpool man making his 632nd Prem appearance, joining Ryan Giggs at second in the all-time list behind Gareth Barry, on the day before his 38th birthday.
It took the Hammers almost half an hour to shake off the January blues and start making something happen.
Jason Steele then had to stop well from James Ward-Prowse’s close range effort before Konstantinos Mavropanos headed over.

Brighton were struggling to break the Hammers down, but Alphonse Areola almost handed Jack Hinshelwood a goal when he flapped a cross straight to the Seagulls youngster.
The Frenchman recovered well to save his effort and also did well to stop Pascal Gross from heading in Milner’s cross from close range.
Despite West Ham being the more enterprising, Brighton were crafting the better chances and Areola again did well to deny Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro shortly after the restart.
Brighton were coming back into it but West Ham continued to threaten at the other end.
Pablo Fornals, given his chance with Paqueta injured, fired a low shot at Steele before Tomas Soucek missed a sitter moments later – prodding wide from just eight yards out with the goal at his mercy.
The cutting edge was still lacking for the Hammers in the absence of Kudus.
Moyes had called on his fringe players, Fornals and Said Benrahma, to step up and show what they could do when given a chance – but neither grabbed the moment.
The Seagulls kept their first clean sheet of the season in the drawCredit: AFP
Benrahma could be leaving the club this month with Lyon and clubs in Saudi Arabia chasing a deal.
West Ham want up to £20million for the former Brentford winger, but his valuation would have taken a dip with almost every touch against the Seagulls.
While Moyes had little to turn to on his bench to sharpen things up, De Zerbi could send on teenager Evan Ferguson, who flashed one just wide moments after coming on.
Moyes sent on his own teenage striker, Divin Mubama, though as Brighton pushed for a winner he had far more work to do off the ball than on it.
But West Ham held firm, just – Jakub Moder blasting a late chance over at the far post before Areola again saved from Adam Lallana.
De Zerbi dropped to his knees in response, looking like someone ready for a short break after a hectic few weeks.

Itakura joined Monchengladbach for £4million during the summer of 2022 after helping former side Schalke get promoted to the Bundesliga.
The Japanese star has since made 34 appearances for Monchengladbach.
And in August last year, the 26-year-old won the club’s Player of the Month award.
But according to reporter Fabrizio Romano Itakura is “one to watch in 2024 as top clubs are monitoring Japanese CB.”

The transfer guru added that Liverpool “have sent their scouts multiple times to follow Itakura’s performances”.
And Ange Postecoglou is “monitoring” the defender who he also eyed up while managing at his former club Celtic.

Itakura is currently valued at £13million according to Transfermarkt.
In January 2019, he joined City but was immediately loaned to Eredivisie club Groningen until the summer of 2021 before heading to then tier two side Schalke.
The 21-cap Japan international can play both in centre-back and defensive midfielder positions which could suit Jurgen Klopp as Joel Matip and Stefan Bajcetic are out with injuries.
Postecoglou’s side need defensive reinforcement after losing Cristian Romero to a hamstring injury on Christmas Eve to add to Spurs’ injury crisis. More

Man Utd terminate Sergio Reguilon’s loan transfer from Tottenham after just 12 games

SERGIO REGUILON has returned to Tottenham after having his loan spell at Manchester United cut. United signed for full-back in the summer on an initial 12-month deal to help cover their backline.

But he never managed to make a consistent breakthrough in Erik ten Hag’s line up with just seven starts.
And following only 12 games in total, Reguilon will return to parent club Spurs.
According to The Athletic, United triggered a break clause in the contract that allowed them to terminate the loan move.
Reguilon was initially signed to provide back up to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

But Shaw has returned from injury and Malacia is also nearing full fitness.
And with United out of Europe and the Carabao Cup, the decision was made to send Reguilon back to Spurs as fixtures have thinned.
Ten Hag in December confirmed that the 27-year-old Spaniard did have a break clause in his loan contract.
He said: “We have to make a final decision on Reguilon. But also there is Spurs who are involved in that conversation as well.”

Spurs currently have Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies occupying their left-back position.
And Udogie – signed from Udinese in 2022 for £18million – has been one of manager Ange Postecoglou’s finest performers this season.

His form saw Spurs reward him with a bumper new six-and-a-half-year deal in December.
Udogie said: “I’m really happy because I think to be here at this club is a big joy for me, so I’m really happy for this opportunity and it’s a pleasure.
“From the first day I came here, I’ve felt at home with the players, the coaching staff and the club. I feel so welcome and I’m happy to be here.” More
