Odogu was part of the team which beat France in the U17 final in Indonesia in December.
The Germany sensation has already been compared to former Chelsea man Antonio Rudiger because of his physical ability and presence.
Runaway Championship leaders Leicester City are also keen on the 17-year-old, who has never played a senior game for the Bundesliga side.
Odogu is keen on a move to England.

Any Chelsea deal is thought to be at an early stage, but there have been encouraging discussions with the player’s camp.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino will have more involvement in deals during the January window, with a striker a priority for the West Londoners as well as investment at the back.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli forward Victor Oshimen have both been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues may have to sell players to raise funds for any spending this month.

And academy graduate Ian Maatsen is now thought to be a target for German giants Borussia Dortmund having also been linked with champions Manchester City.
Speaking about his involvement in January, Pochettino said recently: “It’s obvious that the head coach, coach or manager is crazy to think he won’t be involved in any decisions for the future in my area.
“Of course, we will share with the owners, the sporting director and I cannot conceive the idea of not being involved.
“There is very good communication, we talk every single day and we will take decisions because we are all agreed.”

He helped the club end their six-year trophy drought as they won the Carabao Cup and got the club back into the Champions League.
But his injury-hit side were dumped out in the group stages and have struggled for consistency throughout the current campaign – while off the field there are ongoing spats with the likes of Jadon Sancho.
And United finished the calendar year in disappointing fashion with a 2-1 defeat away at Nottingham Forest to leave themselves seventh in the table and nine points adrift of the top four.
However, Ten Hag put all that aside as he enjoyed some family time in Altrincham on New Year’s Eve.

Earlier on New Year’s Eve, Sir Dave Brailsford had his first official day at Manchester United as he spent the day at Carrington.
Brailsford is Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s right-hand man and will join the football board at Old Trafford when the Ineos chief’s 25 per cent purchase of the club is ratified by the Premier League.
Brailsford is said to have spent New Year’s Eve getting a tour of the training ground and undergoing various meet and greets with staff.
He attended the matches against Aston Villa and Forest.
But the Ineos’ director of sport and former Team Sky cycling boss is yet to have a formal meeting with Ten Hag, the coaches or the recruitment team.
The manager, though, does not fear for his job – despite the incoming investors’ interest in Graham Potter.
Speaking after the Villa comeback win on Boxing Day, Ten Hag said: “They (INEOS) know me and they know when I have a squad what is available the results will be there. We already proved against the top teams we can go head to head.
“I am convinced and have a strong belief we (can) get more progress, consistency in this team. This is part of a project.
“We were overperforming last year, this year we are underperforming, we have to step up and I have to lead that process.”

McNeil played the full game as Everton lost 2-1 at Tottenham on December 23, and repeated that in last Wednesday’s 3-1 home loss to Manchester City.
The ex-Burnley ace, who moved to Goodison Park from Turf Moor for £20m in July 2022, then managed 74 minutes of action in Saturday’s 3-0 setback at Wolves.
However, remarkably, he has managed to continue lining-up for Sean Dyche’s strugglers despite his partner Megan Sharpley undergoing a health battle.
Megan revealed her struggles in an emotional New Year’s Instagram post that was accompanied with a snap of herself laid in a hospital bed.

She explained that she has recently “undergone urgent open surgery and lost an organ or two”.
But she hailed “amazing human being” McNeil for being by her side every step of the way and looking after her.
Megan wrote: “Dwight, you held my hand every time the bad news came, you reminded me how strong I was and how it was all going to be okay.
“You dressed me, you washed me, you carried me, you fed me, you injected me, you juggled all your commitments whilst supporting me and never complained.

“You slept by my hospital bed and kept me giggling even when the world felt like it was ending. You are the most amazing human being.
“Now let’s leave the super tough times in 2023 and let’s go and take on forever. Another year utterly in love – I am blessed.”
McNeil then shared the heartwarming post on his own Instagram account and commented: “we a team, I love you little one.”
Megan had made another emotional post on New Year’s Eve, writing: “As a New Year is within sight, I pray for all the two things I’ve learnt to appreciate the most – health and happiness.
“From start to finish this year has been mentally and physically exhausting. Ending the year this last week, undergoing urgent open surgery and losing an organ or two only seems fitting.
“I know people have questions, which I’ll share in time, most I don’t have the answers to just yet, only that I’m not on the journey to recovery (take 2) and hoping for a result of full health.
“But know this, I stand in faith that whatever 2024 has in store for me I know I will be strong enough to own it, overcome it and hopefully… enjoy it.”
McNeil also replied to that post with a message that said: “Proud of you mooster.”
McNeil and Everton will be back on the pitch on Thursday when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Van de Beek, 26, completed his loan to Eintracht Frankhurt within the first 12 hours of the January transfer window.
And the Bundesliga side have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
It is understood that fee would be around £9.5million – with add-ons potentially seeing it rise to £12m.
And that would be around a £30m loss for United on the midfielder who joined from Ajax for £40m in 2020.

Van de Beek chose to wear the No25 shirt at the Deutsche Bank Park.
And as he lines up alongside World Cup hero Mario Gotze, he will be hoping he can help his new side qualify for the Champions League.
Eintracht Frankfurt currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga table, nine points off fourth-placed RB Leipzig.

He got 19 minutes in the Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace in September and then two minutes in the Premier League against the same opponents four days later.
Despite working with Ten Hag at Ajax as they reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, the manager left him out of all six matchday squads for the 2023 group stages as United finished bottom and crashed out.
Overall, Van de Beek has managed two goals in 62 Red Devils appearances across four seasons at Old Trafford.
And his lack of game time or form means he has not added to his 19 Netherlands international caps since 2021.

A strong loan spell at Eintracht, though, could see him work his way back into Ronald Koeman’s squad ahead of Euro 2024 – as the Dutch face France, Austria and a play-off winner in Group D.
It could also see the German club keen to wrap up Van de Beek by triggering the option to buy him in the summer.
He will be going into the final year of his Red Devils contract next season and therefore United will surely be looking to offload him.
Manchester United fans have been warned not to expect too much more action in January – with Jadon Sancho possibly on his way out but no big-money incomings are likely.

Man Utd to extend two more stars’ contracts after confirming to Lindelof they have triggered clause to keep him at club

MANCHESTER UNITED have extended Victor Lindelof’s contract for another season – and now they plan to tie down Aaron Wan Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri for 12 more months. Lindelof’s deal was set to expire in the summer but United have ensured he will stay at the club for another year.

The Swede has been favoured by manager Erik ten Hag with 18 appearances this season but he has suffered with injuries.
A recent groin problem has left him out of action in December.
But his contract renewal comes as Raphael Varane’s Old Trafford future remains in doubt.
As revealed by SunSport in November, the Frenchman looks set to LEAVE the club when his deal is up in the summer.

Sources say he is more interested in a move to Italy or Saudi – as part of the latest exodus of superstar players.
Varane is one of United’s highest earners on wages of around £340,000-per-week, behind Marcus Rashford and Casemiro.
Elsewhere, Wan Bissaka is back in the side after a hamstring injury.
But he has had to battle Diogo Dalot – favoured by Ten Hag – for the right-back position.

Despite a host of injuries across his squad, Ange Postecoglou’s side go into 2024 sitting fifth in the table with 39 points and just three behind leaders Liverpool.
However, they are set to lose captain and top scorer Son Heung-min to Asia Cup duties for a number of weeks this month.
And they suffered yet another injury blow after striker Alejo Veliz was spotted leaving the Tottenham Stadium on crutches yesterday.
The 20-year-old Argentina U20 international joined Spurs in a £12million transfer from Rosario Central in August.

Postecoglou has so far only used him sparingly while he settles into life in England.
But the hotshot, who got his first goal for the club in last week’s defeat at Brighton, looked set for his big opportunity over the coming matches due to the absence of Son.
But any hopes he had of making an impact appear to have been dashed after Veliz was helped off the pitch in tears by medical staff during the closing stages against Bournemouth.
He was in pain within minutes after coming on as a substitute and looked to be visibly distressed as medics and team-mate Richarlison helped him off the pitch.

The ace was then spotted wearing a boot on his right foot after the game – and he is not the only new casualty for Postecoglou.
Senegal star Pape Matar Sarr’s Afcon dream is in tatters after he was also forced off through injury.
And with the likes of James Maddison and Cristian Romero among the long-term casualties, Spurs fans were cursing their luck.
“We can’t catch a break ffs,” wrote one on X.
Another said: “We’re cursed, there’s no other explanation at this point. It’s a player a game.”
While third added: “Football can be so cruel, this would have been his opportunity.”
Postecoglou said afterwards: “Alejo, it’s hard to say. He was in a lot of pain.
“I don’t know the extent of it, obviously it’s disappointing for him as well. We’ll see what the outcome is.
“Sonny leaves today (for the Asia Cup with South Korea) with Biss (Yves Bissouma, to the AFCON with Mali), so, more challenges for us, but nothing we haven’t faced before.

After finally recovering from a pre-season injury, the Academy product finished 2023 with a starting spot for United.
And if Mainoo maintains his current rate of progress, Gareth Southgate might even consider him for a place at Euro 2024.

    Amad Diallo (Manchester United)
The Ivory Coast winger, 21, is unlikely to make it at Old Trafford if he fails to thrive in the second half of this season.

And many supporters believe he has the pace and team ethic that Antony and outcast Jadon Sancho lack.
Diallo shone in the Championship last term but has once more been only a bit-part player with United under Erik ten Hag.
Two other factors stand against him – Alejandro Garnacho’s emergence and the possibility of a transfer shake-up, assuming Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% club takeover is ratified.
So a move of his own might be Diallo’s best hope for a transformational year.
Amad Diallo is bursting for a regular chance at Old TraffordCredit: Getty
    Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal)
The England Under-17 ace has caused a stir around the Emirates for a couple of years now.
His deft skills made him a double history-maker against Brentford in September 2022 – as the youngest player to appear for the Gunners and in the Prem.
And although boss Mikel Arteta is keen not to rush Nwaneri, the Spaniard has put the Londoner on the bench for some big games this season as Arsenal bid for the title.
He should be known across the land by the end of 2024 – although he is still unlikely to be a first-team regular by then.
    Ben Doak (Liverpool)
The Scotland Under-21 winger has impressed Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp with his confidence.
Doak, 18, signed from Celtic in 2022 and played two Prem matches for Liverpool in 2023, as well as a handful of Europa League runouts.
Like Nwaneri, he could well be set for more for after next summer.

    Oscar Bobb (Man City)
The four-cap Norway winger, 20, has the ease in possession and range of passing that Pep Guardiola loves his players to show.
Having been at the Etihad since 2019, Bobb’s progress has arguably been held back by the explosive arrival of Belgium wideman Jeremy Doku.
But he can expect far more games, albeit off the bench, in the next few months – ahead of a 2024-25 campaign that could be pivotal for his City future.

    Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea)
If John Terry singles out a centre-back, you listen! And the England legend reckons Gilchrist is on course to make it at Stamford Bridge.
The Londoner, 20, has been with the Blues since he was eight yet only make his debut in their final two games of the year – coming off the bench in a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace and a 3-2 triumph at Luton.
Those cameos showcased Gilchrist’s dogged style.
And there’s no better character reference than this one on Gilchrist from Chelsea icon Terry at a fans’ Q&A: “He’s got an unbelievable attitude. He performs so well on a daily basis.”

    Alejo Veliz (Tottenham)
The Argentine could become a cult hero with his heading power and poaching instincts.
The Under-20 international striker arrived from top-flight home country club Rosario Central last summer for around £13million.
And his first main task will be to earn more starts as Spurs battle for a top-four finish.
He could be handed more opportunities with Son Heung-min jetting off to the Asian Cup.

    Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton)
The all-round midfielder, 18, ended his 2023 in perfect style – crashing the opener in a 4-2 defeat of Spurs.
And he could keep smashing it over the next year.
He was the Seagulls’ success story in the first half of this season, especially important following the record-breaking departure of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.
And apart from his solid attributes, he has the type of genuine two-footed ability rarely seen at any level, as well as being able to slot in at centre-back.
    Matheus Franca (Crystal Palace)
The Brazilian attacking midfielder or frontman, 19, has mainly been a sub since arriving last summer.
But Palace believe his workrate, dribbling skills and fox-in-the-box finishing will make him well worth the fee they paid Flamengo – which could rise to £22m.

    Romeo Lavia (Chelsea)
The powerful Belgian anchorman, 19, was one of the few bright spots for Southampton in 2023 before they went down – sparking his £58m move to Chelsea.
A tidy passer and tough tackler, Lavia unfortunately sits behind nine-figure signings Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield options.
But once he gets regular action at Stamford Bridge he will surely prove himself again in the Prem.
