PSG star Marco Verratti has mansion raided by gang for £2.5m of cash, jewellery and luxury watches as cops launch hunt

POLICE are hunting intruders who have allegedly stolen over £2.5million worth of valuables from Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti’s Ibiza holiday home.The burglars broke into the property, which local press say belongs to former Brazilian international Ronaldo, in the early hours of Sunday morning while the footballer and his family were out.

As well as cash, the criminals reportedly took watches and jewellery.
The break-in was reported to police on Sunday and is being investigated by the Civil Guard, although no-one from the force was available for comment on Monday.
The house Verratti was staying at is believed to be in Cala Jondal in the south of Ibiza, where Prince William and Kate have enjoyed sunshine breaks at Kate’s millionaire uncle’s home called Maison de Bang Bang.
There has not yet been any official comment from Italian international Verratti, who did not publicise his trip to Ibiza on social media.

Mason Greenwood: Police issue update after Man Utd striker’s rape & GBH arrest

MASON Greenwood will remain on bail following his rape arrest, police confirmed today.The Man Utd striker, 20, is still waiting to discover his fate after he was held on suspicion of rape, assault and making threats to kill.
Mason Greenwood’s bail has been extended
Greenwood was originally due to answer his bail on April 30 but the decision was pushed back pending a court hearing.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that hearing took place yesterday and that Greenwood will remain on bail.
A statement said: “Following a hearing yesterday (Thursday 23 June 2022), a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of rape, assault and making threats to kill on Sunday 30 January 2022 remains on bail.
“As the outcome of bail reviews does not impact the progression of investigations, Greater Manchester Police will not be providing any further updates in relation to this case until the suspect is charged or released facing no further action.”

Greenwood spent three nights in custody after police swooped on his home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, in January.
He was bailed on February 2 and has been keeping a relatively low profile since.
The striker remains suspended by Utd but still receives his £75,000-a-week salary pending the outcome of any criminal proceedings.
The club were previously forced to release a statement confirming there has been no change to Greenwood’s status.

But some eagle-eyed fans discovered the player was still visible on the club’s website – leading to speculation he could be reinstated.
The statement from Utd read: “There has been no change whatsoever in Mason’s status.
“We removed his profile from the club app soon after he was removed from the squad in January.
“This was in order to remove Mason from interactive elements of the app, such as team predictions etc.
“However, his profile was never removed from the website as he remains a Manchester United player, albeit not currently part of the squad while the legal process unfolds.”

Greenwood has been removed from FIFA 22 and dropped by sponsors Nike in the wake of the allegations.
Football Manager 2022 has also confirmed he will not feature after their recent winter update.
All merchandise bearing the No11’s name has been axed from the official Utd site and teammates have unfollowed him on Instagram.
Greenwood’s promising domestic and international career is now in jeopardy after his arrest.
The rising star has impressed on the pitch this season – scoring five goals in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.
He joined the team aged just six and rose through the ranks to land himself a regular spot on the first team.
In 2019, he became the youngest footballer to play for Utd in the Champions League when he took to the pitch aged 17.

MASON GREENWOOD will face a court bail hearing next week as an investigation continues following his arrest.The Manchester United star will have his bail application heard in closed court next week after he was arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman.

An investigation into the allegations remains ongoing and Greater Manchester Police have applied to the courts to extend his bail.
The hearing will take place next Thursday June 23 at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court.
But the press and public won’t be allowed to attend – and Greenwood, 20, is not expected to be there.
Greenwood was arrested in January after police received a report about images and videos posted online from a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

The England striker was initially held on suspicion of rape and assault but was then rearrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
The young star spent three nights in police custody before he was bailed.
In April, cops said they were continuing to investigate the allegations and would seek to have Greenwood’s bail extended but a court hearing wouldn’t take place until mid-June.
A Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court court official confirmed today that the hearing will take place next Thursday.

She added that it wouldn’t be held in open court and Greenwood won’t be required to attend.
United have confirmed the player wouldn’t be available for selection or allowed to train with his team-mates until further notice.
A club statement read: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.
“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.
“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Nike later terminated its endorsement agreement with Greenwood after saying it was “deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations”.
His last appearance for the club came in a 1-0 win against West Ham on 22 January.

Two people arrested after Derby footballer Louie Sibley’s girlfriend beaten unconscious on night out

TWO people have been arrested after football star Louie Sibley’s girlfriend was beaten unconscious while on a night out. Wag Keeley Carter was punched, smashed into a wall and dragged to the ground by the male attacker and also assaulted by the woman at around 2am on Sunday.

He said the attack, in Nottingham, was unprovoked and the pair ran off afterwards
Cops said a 20-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
Nottinghamshire Police said the arrests were also linked to an attack on a second woman in the same area moments after the first assault.
Chief Inspector Amy English said: “Violence will not be tolerated in our city or county and that is why officers have been working hard to investigate the exact circumstances of what happened and to find those responsible.”
Louie, 20, who plays for Derby County, said the arrests were “great news”.

DERBY County footy ace Louie Sibley has launched a manhunt after his girlfriend was beaten unconscious in a vicious street attack.The midfielder, 20, has called for help to track down a man and woman after Wag Keeley Carter was battered in Nottingham at 2am on Sunday.

Louie, who posted shocking pictures of Keeley’s injuries, along with CCTV pictures of her alleged attacker on Twitter, blasted the thugs as “cowards”.
“Early hours in the morning at 2am in Nottingham on Upper Parliament Street, my girlfriend was attacked several times by a man and a woman,” he posted.
“She ended up in hospital and had to have stitches due to the man, who punched her and knocked her out, leaving her unconscious.
“This coward of a man attacked such an innocent girl.

“This was an unprovoked attack, which was recorded and is now under police investigations.
“Both of them need to be found.”
He urged fans to share his appeal.
“How can a grown man attack a girl like this and get away with it?” he blasted.
“Please share this and if anyone has any information it would be much appreciated.
“Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
England U20 international Sibley made 28 appearances for The Rams last season under the guidance of boss Wayne Rooney.

Chief Inspector Amy English, of Notts Police, said: “We are currently investigating reports of an incident in which a woman was allegedly assaulted in Nottingham city centre.

A MILLWALL supporter has been rushed to hospital after being assaulted in a violent clash at their Championship draw with Birmingham FC.The 60-year-old victim was seriously injured after being pounced on by a yob outside of the stadium before kick-off.

Police announced a 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the horrific attack as they launched an investigation.
Cops said the Millwall fan, from London, had just arrived at St Andrews stadium with his family when he was ambushed.
He endured a horrific beating on Cattell Road shortly before 3pm, before being given medical attention by nearby officers.
The victim was then rushed to hospital while the attacker was arrested.
The 30-year-old is currently being held on suspicion of a Section 18 assault.
West Midlands Police urged witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch quoting reference number 2193-23/04/22.
The force said they had already began speaking to witnesses, reviewing CCTV footage and have forensically examined the scene.
The pivotal match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, was overshadowed by frenzied brawls in the stands and outside St Andrews stadium.

The psycho gave Maguire 72 hours to quit Man United after claiming three bombs were planted at his home.
The threat, emailed to the England defender’s agent, said the devices would be detonated if he refused to meet the deadline.
Skipper Maguire, 29, was at the Carrington training ground when the terrifying message was delivered on Wednesday, a day after United lost 4-0 to Liverpool.

The maniac gave Maguire 72 hours to quit Man United after claiming three bombs were planted at his home.
The threat, emailed to the England defender’s agent, said the devices would be detonated if he refused to meet the deadline.
Skipper Maguire, 29, was at the Carrington training ground when the terrifying message was delivered on Wednesday, a day after United lost 4-0 to Liverpool.

A source said: “This was taken very seriously.
“Harry and his teammates regularly receive death threats on social media but this was different.
“The email said three bombs had been planted at his home.
“He had 72 hours to leave United or they’d be detonated. It was dripping with hatred and abuse.”
The source added: “Fern was hysterical.
“She doesn’t feel safe anymore.
“She’s had enough of the abuse Harry gets.
“It’s relentless, personal and out of order. Enough is enough.
“They’re a close family and Harry has always put them first but at the same time he refuses to give into the hate mob.”
‘COWARDLY FAN’
“The mail is said to be from a “cowardly fan”.
United have been in terrible form with £190,000-a-week Maguire booed on the pitch and abused on Instagram over his performances.
Some online messages have repeated the words: “Get out of my club”.
One read: “Another own goal thanks to Satan himself.”
Maguire is not expected to face Arsenal in today’s Premier League match.
He is getting new CCTV and 24/7 guards.
The source added: “Harry doesn’t want to live like this but at the moment he’s got no choice. He won’t have his family threatened.”
A spokesman for Maguire described the email and its contents as “a serious threat to his family home”, adding: “He has reported this to the police.
