      Eyewitnesses claim a supporter’s mobile phone was sent flying to the ground as Ronaldo stormed off the Goodison Park pitch.
      Footage of the incident was posted to Twitter appearing to show the 37-year-old knocking something out of a fan’s hands.
      Man Utd had launched an investigation, but the Sun Online understands Ronaldo will not face reprisals.
      It is understood they have accepted his apology after the incident.
      The star had issued the grovelling apology after the game at Old Trafford on social media.

      And the United superstar appeared to lash out as he headed back to the away team dressing room.
      Merseyside Police are investigating.
      In a statement, they said: “We can confirm that they’re carrying out an investigating following an incident at the #EVEMAN match at Goodison involving a player as they were walking off the pitch and will be speaking to all parties involved.”
      The striker struggled throughout the lifeless defeat as his United team-mates failed to provide any service.

      A football source said yesterday: “This is quite disturbing, especially coming after the claims about Greenwood.
      “In this case, the footballer used his money to get lawyers to sort it out for him and keep it out of the public eye.
      “He reached a settlement and that has effectively silenced the girl in question and stopped court action.

      “Her claims though were very serious, and included at least one allegation of domestic assault.”
      Police confirmed they were called but the player faced no further action because a “community resolution” was agreed.
      The star, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in 2019 and is no longer in a relationship with his accuser.
      Teresa Parker, of Women’s Aid and founder of the Football United Against Domestic Violence campaign, believes players’ money is used to sweep abuse under the carpet.
      She said: “This case shows how the significant amount of power and money within football can mean that allegations of domestic abuse — or other forms of violence against women by players — are seen as issues to be managed.
      “As in this case, what can happen is that every effort is taken to make what is seen as a problem go away.
      “All football clubs and organisations need to have domestic abuse policies, to ensure they do not become the enablers and excusers of men who abuse their partners.”
      Greenwood has been suspended by Man United after disturbing images and audio of his alleged victim were posted.

      Experience Kissimmee, the tourism authority for Osceola County in Florida, has now dropped its support of West Ham.
      In a tweet, the organisation said: “Experience Kissimmee announced today that it has ended its sponsorship of West Ham United Football Club.”
      They had earlier said it was “disheartening” to see Zouma starting for the club less than a day after the footage emerged.
      Fans from both sides had booed while Watford supporters chanted “that’s how your cat feels” when the star was fouled during the game.
      The tourist board’s decision comes after Vitality announced it would suspend its sponsorship of West Ham with “immediate effect”.
      It comes as:

      West Ham coach David Moyes defended his decision in a press conference, telling reporters: “I am really disappointed and the club have taken all the actions that they can do at the moment.
      “They are working on that behind the scenes. My job is to pick the best team for West Ham and Kurt was part of that team.
      “I am a big animal lover. As I said, my job is to try and win for West Ham and to put out the best team for that.
      “I think the club would rather deal with it all in time and they will let you know what the action is.”

      He’s since issued a grovelling apology after the film, shared by his brother Yoan on Snapchat, was exclusively featured by The Sun.
      But the Premier League ace could still face a criminal prosecution if the RSPCA deems the clip contains illegal behaviour.
      The Met Police say they won’t be investigating, although the charity has its own powers to prosecute if it sees fit.
      Now more than 7,000 Brits have signed a petition calling for the Met to launch a probe.
      The Change.org petition, started by Matthew Dixon, says: “Professional football player Kurt Zouma was filmed horrendously abusing a defenceless animal.
      “He should be prosecuted for his actions.”
      It comes as:

      Mr Dixon wrote: “Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition.
      “This ‘man’ cannot be allowed to get away with abusing this poor cat in this way.”
      West Ham says the matter will be dealt with internally.
      Zouma is likely to be dropped for West Ham’s clash against Watford tonight as the club disciplines the player.
      It is thought the Hammers star man could be at least fined wages for the shamed clips, which fans have complained puts their season in jeopardy.
      The club said: “West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated.
      “We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals.”
      ‘PROSECUTE HIM’
      Zouma, 27, last night apologised after the emergence of the sick clips.
      The video was filmed at his £2million house on Sunday afternoon – a day after he appeared for West Ham in the FA Cup.
      “I want to apologise for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret,” he said.
      “I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.
      “They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again.”
      Thousands of people have contacted the RSPCA urging the charity to prosecute.
      The issue has also been discussed on breakfast television.
      BRITS’ FURY
      Susanna Reid told Good Morning Britain viewers: “There is something sickening about the defensive abuse of a helpless animal.
      “Why would you do that? What on earth possesses you to mistreat an animal like that? And then thinking it’s a good laugh.”
      Her co-star Richard Madeley replied: “Power and control.
      “I think there needs to be a prosecution.”
      Meanwhile, animal charity Blue Cross has also backed calls for a criminal investigation.
      Chief executive officer Chris Burghes said: “The video is appalling and very distressing to watch.

      Football manager Joey Barton in court today after ‘attacking Barnsley coach in tunnel after match’

      JOEY Barton is set to go on trial accused of assaulting another football manager after a heated League One game.The Bristol Rovers manager, 39, denies attacking then-Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel back in April 2019.

      Prosecutors allege he attacked Daniel Stendel, then the manager of Barnsley
      Prosecutors claim Barton – who was then managing Fleetwood – hit out in the tunnel after a Barnsley win.
      Stendel was left with facial injuries after the alleged bust-up.
      Ex-Premier League star Barton, of Widnes in Cheshire, was said to be furious after seeing one of his players sent off in a 4-2 defeat.
      A steward and a cop stopped his BMW from leaving the ground.
      He was later arrested after Barnsley complained to South Yorkshire Police about the alleged incident.
      A trial will begin at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday after jurors were selected today.
      The fracas was initially sparked after Fleetwood’s Harry Souttar was sent off midway through the second half.
      Barton was furious that German manager Stendel had got involved and chased him down the tunnel at the full-time whistle.
      The two managers were seen squaring up to each other on the touchline at the final whistle, with Stendel waving his finger at Barton.
      Barton then shook hands with Barnsley staff and the match officials before racing off up the tunnel where the alleged brawl took place.
      BARTON IN THE DOCK
      The former midfielder played more than 250 Premier League games for Newcastle United, Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers.
      He began managing League One side Fleetwood Town in 2018, before moving to Bristol Rovers in February this year, shortly before the club were relegated to League Two.
      Barton started his football career with Manchester City in 2002 after going through their youth system and went on to make 150 appearances for the club.
      He then moved to Newcastle United in a £5.8million transfer in July 2007 before leaving for Queens Park Rangers in August 2011.

      The midfielder was then put on loan to French side Marseille during the 2012-13 season before making his way to Burnley for one season – helping promote them to the Premier League.

      Brighton star Yves Bissouma’s bail extended for five weeks after dramatic nightclub arrest

      PREMIER League ace Yves Bissouma today had his bail extended for another five weeks following his dramatic nightclub arrest.The in-form Brighton midfielder, 25, was led away in handcuffs by uniformed cops in the early hours of October 6 after he was detained on suspicion of assault.

      Shocked revellers at The Arch, on the seafront in Brighton, told how they saw Bissouma being marched out of a packed nightclub in handcuffs by police officers.
      The Man Utd and Liverpool target spent a night in the cells with a pal in his 40s.
      The pair were bailed until today.
      But Sussex Police confirmed they’ve extended the date as investigations continue.
      A spokesperson said: “The bail date for both individuals has been extended to Monday, December 6 while investigations continue.
      “No further information is available at this time.”
      Bissouma, a likely big-money target in the upcoming January transfer window, was filmed by revellers during his arrest at 2am.
      An insider said: “The club was packed — it was a popular student night, especially with freshers in town.
      STAR BAILED AGAIN
      “People were starstruck to see Bissouma in the club — he’s Brighton’s best player at the moment, so he definitely caught some eyes.
      “They were even more shocked to see him later being led away in handcuffs outside the club.
      “People were absolutely stunned by what was going on.
      “The next thing we knew, two police officers were taking him away in cuffs. I couldn’t believe it.”
      Brighton said at the time of £45,000-a-week Bissouma’s arrest: “Brighton & Hove Albion are aware that one of its players is assisting police with the investigation of an alleged offence.
      “The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is therefore unable to make further comment at this time.”
      The star has been one of Brighton’s top performers this year.
      He recently declared his aim to be the best in the top flight.
      SHOCK ARREST
      Asked who was the Premier League’s top midfielder, he told BBC One’s Football Focus: “I don’t want to be arrogant, but it’s me because in my head I am working to be the best. So I cannot say another name.
      “I know in the Premier League there are so many good midfielders, but for me, it’s me because that gives me the confidence and the energy to work hard to show people I am here and I am Bissouma.”
      The player — born in the Ivory Coast but now a Mali international — signed for the Seagulls from French side Lille in 2018 for a reported £15million.
      He scored his first goal for the club against Bournemouth in the FA Cup third round in 2019. Bissouma has since attracted the attentions of a clutch of Big Six clubs with a string of impressive performances.
      One against Everton last season had Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher raving he was “the best player by a mile on the pitch”. He added: “You looked at him and he really does look like a top-quality player.”
      Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has called him an “exceptional footballer”.
      Among his highlights was a 30-yard strike he netted against Everton in October 2020, which won him the club’s Goal of the Month award.

      Brighton had to fight tooth and nail to keep him over the summer amid fierce interest, and he started this season equally strongly before picking up a knee injury.
      He has been tipped to leave the club when the January transfer window opens.
