      Speeding ‘drug dealer’ almost knocked over Newcastle United owners during chase with bike outside stadium

      Police have now arrested the two men on the motorbike – one a suspected drug dealer thought to be caught up in a chase – but there was chaos and confusion 90 minutes before kickoff yesterday.
      Supporters scarpered at the horrific sight and sound of the oncoming vehicle, fearing for their lives.
      Two balaclava-clad men riding it tore through the throng of spectators arriving ahead of the 8pm Liverpool v Newcastle game, causing fans, including children, to scramble out of its path.
      The ownership party were also in the sea of red and striped shirts filling the pedestrian area of Stanley Park and witnessed the motorcycle whizz dangerously past them.

      Mehrdad Ghodoussi told Sportsmail: “The bike flew right by us and could have hit us easily. It was a scary incident.
      “Amanda was pretty shaken up but calmed down once we got inside the stadium.
      “Thankfully, it appears serious injuries were avoided. But it could have been far worse, the bike drove straight into the crowd.”
      But not everyone was as lucky as Newcastle’s owners, as the zooming bike hit and injured several people in the crowd.

      One fan was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, while another supporter, thought to be a middle-aged man, was left in a “bad way” and struggling to breathe, according to a witness.
      Witnesses told how the engine’s loud noise alerted fans to the nearing danger but the crowd was so tightly-packed they couldn’t see it coming. One fan said it was incredible no one was killed.
      Luckily, heroic police managed to knock the thugs from the motorbike before anyone suffered anything worse – or fatal.
      The two men were both arrested at the scene by officers for a handful of offences.
      Merseyside Police confirmed that no members of the public were seriously injured but one of the riders was treated for facial and shoulder injuries after being thrown off the bike.
      A 30-year-old man who was riding the bike was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and suspected theft of a motor vehicle.
      The 23-year-old passenger, also male, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, suspected theft of a motor vehicle and other driving offences.
      The club’s owners weren’t the only famous faces to feel the fear of Wednesday night’s crowd.

      Former England defender Danny Mills also escaped being hit in the thick throng of people.
      He said: “I had picked up my media accreditation and was walking back towards the stadium on the corner of Stanley Park when, all of a sudden, I heard this ridiculous motorbike sound.
      “It had squeezed through a gap and into a pedestrian area that was packed with supporters.
      “A couple of people were hit on the way through before the police managed to knock them off the bike. But it could have been so much worse.
      “It was an area full of supporters, including children. They were going at some speed and you really feared for people’s safety.”
      A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: ‘We have arrested two males following an incident outside Anfield stadium on Wednesday August 31, in which a scrambler bike was reported to have been in contact with pedestrians.
      “The scrambler bike, which was being ridden by two males wearing balaclavas, is believed to have been involved in a chase with an electric bike through 97 Avenue and Dahlia Walk, close to Liverpool’s ground, at around 6.30pm.
      “The scrambler is believed to have made contact with a number of pedestrians before being brought to a stop by an officer outside the ground.
      “The stop caused the rider and passenger to fall off and they were both arrested.
      “There are no reports of any members of the public being seriously injured. One of the riders of the bike suffered facial and shoulder injuries and has received medical treatment.
      “The rider of the bike, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of S5 RTA (drug driving), causing serious injury by dangerous driving and suspected theft of a motor vehicle.
      “The passenger, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, suspected theft of a motor vehicle and other driving offences.
      “The bike has been recovered and enquiries into the incident are ongoing. The incident has been voluntarily referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.”

      Mourners gather to bid farewell to Tyson Fury’s cousin after Rico Burton, 31, stabbed to death

      MOURNERS have today gathered to bid farewell to Tyson Fury’s cousin after he was stabbed to death. Crowds followed a horse-drawn carriage and other trailers with floral messages for Rico Burton, 31, including one spelling his name and another calling him “BOYO”.

      Mr Burton was fatally stabbed outside a bar on Goose Green in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of August 21. 
      Tributes poured in for Mr Burton after his death, led by the boxer’s heavyweight champ cousin Tyson Fury. 
      In his tribute, the boxing champ said: “Life is very precious and it can be taken away very quick. Enjoy every moment.”
      The two-time world heavyweight champion, from Wythenshawe, also called for an end to knife crime in a post on his social media channels following his cousin’s tragic death.
      Today, Mr Burton’s family and friends bid him an emotional goodbye during a service at St Michael’s Church in Urmston.

      Pictures showed mourners arriving for the service earlier on carriages and trailers. One was being pulled by a horse.
      One trailer carried a huge, white floral arrangement, while another carried flowers that spelt out his name. Dozens are expected to turn out to pay their respects to Mr Burton at the service.
      Speaking after Mr Burton’s death, Shaun Egan, who previously coached Mr Burton at Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy, described him as “such a nice lad”.
      Mr Egan said: “He was an absolute talent. He was such a nice lad, he was hard-working and had a great sense of humour.

      “What’s happened is just awful. He was just a great guy. To hear he has died like this is devastating.”
      Liam O’Prey, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with his murder and a string of other offences.
      Mr O’Prey appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Friday charged with Mr Burton’s murder. He faces four counts relating to the same incident.
      Mr O’Prey is accused of murder; unlawful wounding with intention to cause grievous bodily harm; possession of a bladed article; namely a knife; and possession of cocaine.

      He could go on trial at the beginning of next year and has been remanded into custody. 
      A 17-year-old was also seriously wounded in the incident and was given life-saving treatment at the scene, police said.

      Aubameyang, 33, was threatened with firearms and iron bars, and was also beaten, according to police sources reported by El Pais.
      The thieves also intimidated Aubameyang’s wife, Alysha Behague, with weapons until they managed to get the safe open.
      Several jewels were taken from the home and the four men fled in a white Audi A3, per witness reports.
      Aubameyang has been with Alysha for more than ten years after meeting while the player was at AC Milan.

      They have two children together – Curtys, 11, and Pierre, six.
      It is unclear whether the children were at home during the break-in

      But one crafty thief used the distraction to open Lewandowski’s car door and make off with the high-end time piece.
      The striker sprinted after the culprit, who was eventually caught by police and the watch was then returned to a grateful Lewandowski.
      Chelsea, managed by Aubameyang’s former Borussia dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, are keen on bringing the striker back to England.

      It comes as the prime suspect in the killing of Olivia was behind bars last night.
      The 36-year-old was bailed and recalled to prison for breaching his licence terms.
      He had been quizzed after Olivia was gunned down by a shooter firing into her home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, at 10pm on Monday.

      As she arrived home he then ambushed her in the lobby of her apartment building, police said.
      She was on the phone to her sister Stefania – who heard her screams as she was attacked.
      Through tears, she told a local TV station: “She got out of her car and started screaming, ‘No Giovanni, no, I beg you, help.’

      Alessandra and her younger lover had been a couple for around a year, according to reports in Italy.

      On previous occasions he had sabotaged her car, disconnected her meter from the outside, and tried to climb up to her balcony, residents said.

      Another neighbour said Sandra had asked her not to open the door if Padovani rang the buzzer to get into the building.
      The case has sparked outrage in Italy amid claims the justice system fails to protect women from abusers.
      Yesterday justice minister Marta Cartabia sent inspectors to review the actions of Bologna cops following Alessandra’s complaint.
      Bologna Chief Prosecutor Giuseppe Amato denied accusations of judicial negligence in the case, reports news agency Ansa.
      He said a probe was immediately launched after the complaint was registered on August 1, but the investigation could not conclude until next week because witnesses were on holiday.
      “We did what we could,” he said, adding the stalking report did not highlight “situations of a concrete risk of violence, it was just the typical conduct of bothersome stalking”.
      Padovani – a model and former youth payer at Napoli – has played as a journeyman centre back for ten clubs in Italy’s Serie C and Serie D leagues.
      Earlier this month he signed for fourth tier Sancataldese, based in Sicily.
      But last weekend he was absent from the opening clash of the Italian Cup, against local rivals Catania.
      Sancataldese club lawyer Salvatore Pirrello said Padovani had left the team’s training retreat on Saturday saying he had personal problems.
      He phoned asking to rejoin the team on Monday but was told to stay away, reports Corriere della Sera.
      He then flew to Bologna in northern Italy, where he allegedly ambushed his ex on Tuesday.

      Alessandra was still conscious when medics arrived but died in hospital of massive head injuries.
      Padovani was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder and is being held in custody.

      A 17-year-old man, believed to be a relative, suffered significant life-changing injuries and remains in hospital.
      Liam O’Prey, 21, appeared at Manchester Crown Court today charged with murder.
      He is also accused of assault and causing wounding with intent in relation to the teen and faces further charges of possession of a bladed article and possession of cocaine.
      O’Prey spoke only to confirm his identity and to say “thank you” to the judge.
      He was remanded in custody ahead of a provisional trial date of February 6 next year.

      Ex-youth boxing star Rico had been watching the Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk fight with pals on Saturday before they moved to a different pub in leafy Altrincham.
      Emergency crews were scrambled to the Goose Green area in the early hours of Sunday morning after a fight allegedly broke out.
      Rico was rushed to hospital but sadly couldn’t be saved and was declared dead shortly after.
      Officers arrested O’Prey and a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the horror.

      The second suspect has been released on bail pending enquiries.
      In a social media post on Sunday, Fury called on the government to “bring higher sentencing for knife crime” after his cousin was “stabbed in the neck”.

      “This is becoming ridiculous… idiots carry knives. This needs to stop.”

      The witness, 22 at the time, is one of three women allegedly raped by Mendy during a pool party at his mansion in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire, in July 2021.
      When first questioned she told officers she did not want to get involved.

      Today, the jury were shown a police interview with one alleged victim.
      In it, she tells cops player tried to “debate” her into having sex after getting her alone at a gathering at his mansion in July 2021.
      Despite giving him “every excuse” her protests “didn’t phase him”, Chester Crown Court heard.

      Mendy allegedly told the woman “don’t you trust me”, shortly before she “gave in” and had sex – which lasted 20 seconds, she claims.
      The woman said she “felt dirty” and used most of a pack of baby wipes to try to clean herself after the incident, the jury heard.
      She did not report the rape to police until being contacted by officers after other allegations surfaced because “it was like one word against another”.
      Recalling the alleged incident in a recorded police interview she said she had been invited to Mendy’s home where people were drinking and playing games.

      But as she was about to leave, he took her into the cinema room at the house alone where they talked and began kissing before he pulled his underwear down.
      She said: “His language was quite direct and crude. He said ‘you don’t trust me?’ and I said ‘I don’t know you’.
      “He was like ‘all these women want to f**k me’ and I was like ‘okay’.”
      “I think he was saying stuff to make me want to do stuff with him. I was like I’m not doing anything like that and I literally had to give excuses as to why.”
      The woman gave Mendy several reasons as to why she didn’t want to have sex with him – including her fear it would “hurt”, she claims.
      She says he replied: “It’s small, don’t worry.”
      The woman added: “I was sat on a bean bag and he was standing in front of me holding himself. I felt like I had given him every excuse to get out of the situation…
      “It didn’t phase him, it’s like nothing I said got through to him and it’s like arguing with a brick wall.”
      The woman explained to the court how she didn’t know other guests at the party well and didn’t feel she could just walk away.
      She continued: “When I sat on that bean bag and I ended up having to like give in. There was nothing more I could do.”
      “Within 20 seconds it was over.”
      Following the alleged rape, she said she “didn’t know how to process what had just happened” and “felt so by myself”, the court heard.
      Mendy denies eight counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one count of sexual assault against seven young women.
      Mendy’s co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, is accused of eight counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault relating to eight women, which he denies.
      Saha Matturie – the footballer’s friend and fixer – allegedly had the job of finding young women for sex.
      Both men say that if any sex did take place it was consensual.
      In the first week of his trial, Chester Crown Court heard how Mendy boasted “I have had sex with 10,000 women” shortly after raping a 20-year-old.
      The footballer allegedly told the woman “the door is locked anyway” when she begged to leave his bedroom.
      And yesterday, Mendy was accused of grabbing another woman between her legs and asking her: “Why are you angry?”
      He was accused of sexually assaulting the alleged victim at a pool party at his mansion in January 2021.
      In a police interview, shown to Chester Crown Court, the woman claims the former French international questioned why she was annoyed then told her: “You look better when you smile.”
      She told a detective: “I was just shocked. I was just taken aback by it.
