    Scotland vs England permutations
Scotland face England on Tuesday night in the Nations League knowing a LOSS will keep alive players’ hopes of featuring in the Olympics next year.
This is because Team GB can only reach the Olympics if the nominated nation England make it to the Nations League finals and reach the final.
And after beating the Netherlands 3-2 with a last-gasp goal, the Lionesses now have to beat Scotland to stand a chance of advancing to the Nations League finals.
England are level on points with the Netherlands on top of the Nations League Group A, but sit behind Dutch on goal difference.
England boss Sarina Wiegman – who will also manage Team GB at the Olympics next year if they qualify – said: “We need to win in Scotland, we really need to win.
“We are dependent on the other game but if we want to progress we need a really good win by four goals I would say.
“What we can control is playing well and winning that game. That is what we need to do first. We can’t control what the others do.”
Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert, Aston Villa’s Rachel Corsie and Tottenham’s Martha Thomas are among the Scottish stars that Wiegman could look to include in her Team GB squad.

Inside haunting abandoned £32BILLION Beijing Olympics stadiums with Games venues deserted, disused and dilapidated

THE WORLD looked on in awe in 2008 when Beijing hosted the Olympic Games.Back then, China was praised for staging an incredible show for the entire globe to watch thanks to a combination of incredible architectural feats and excellent organisation.

But the state of the Olympic stadiums and venues from 15 years ago, which China splashed £32BILLION on, has left the world in shock.
The water-sport parks are now completely dried-up, including the once glittering white-water rafting run which is now in absolute ruin.
It now appears to be little more than a concrete eyesore.
The beach volleyball stands are now reduced to rust and rotting wood.

And the once show-stopping BMX track now looks more like a jungle with a rusty frame poking its ugly head through the greenery.
Sprawled across Beijing are more haunting reminders of the memorable Games.
Mascots including Nini, Yingjing and Beibei are lying in tatters across the grounds.
Once sparkling signage is now covered in grime or warped through weathering.

But the impressive Bird’s Nest Stadium is still in use to this day and it would appear to be the only one still going strong.
Beijing is not the only host city to fall foul of the post-Olympics hangover.
Rio de Janeiro is suffering a similar fate after the 2016 Games and the same goes for Athens after they hosted the Olympics in 2004.
In Brazil, a number of venues are in utter disrepair with their £9billion Games legacy in tatters.
The same goes for Greece where their Olympic Stadium, which holds a larger capacity than all English grounds except Old Trafford and Wembley, had to shut down recently due to poor maintenance.
Now we wait and see how Tokyo deals with its venues after the 2020 Olympics.

Iconic Champions League stadium bigger than most Prem grounds shuts down after authorities LOST maintenance manual

GREECE’S iconic Olympic Stadium has been forced to shut down over grave safety concerns. The Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) is the country’s biggest sporting complex and hosted the 2004 Olympic Games as well as the Champions League final in 1983, 1994 and 2007.

Greek chiefs lost a manual with detailed instructions regarding OAKA’s maintenanceCredit: AP
The ground – named after famous 1896 Olympic hero Spiros Louis – holds a capacity of 70,000 and makes it larger than every Premier League stadium bar Manchester United’s Old Trafford and Wembley.
However, the government decided to close it until further notice due to concerns over the stability of its steel dome.
All events, including concerts, have been halted indefinitely as the stadium’s roof – as well as that of the cycling track nearby – “did not meet the legally permitted levels of static adequacy”.
According to journalist Tasos Telloglou, authorities lost a manual with detailed instructions regarding the dome’s maintenance left behind by architect Santiago Calatrava – who built the landmark in 2004.

Greek media showed images of the stadium’s crumbling state and claim OAKA had to shut down due to security concerns for fans in attendance.
According to ERT, prosecutors have already launched a preliminary investigation covering the last five years.
The government of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has faced criticism after promising to revamp it in 2021.
Sports Minister Yiannis Vroutsis admitted the decision to shut the facilities down was “painful”.

Vroutsis added that the government is actively looking for the best solution to resolve the issue, but experts fear it will take a long time until OAKA reopens its doors.
Panathinaikos used the stadium until very recently but had to move back to Leoforos Alexandras and their historic Apostolos Nikolaidis ground.
In fact, the Greek giants faced Villarreal in a Europa League clash less than two weeks ago and won 2-1 before heading back to Leoforos. More
