British soldiers cheered as England beat Germany in the nail-biting game at Wembley
The Ministry of Defence shared the jubilant snap on Twitter paired with the caption: “It’s coming home! England fans in the Armed Forces will be tuning in from around the world to support their team today.
“This photo shows Army personnel deployed to protect peace and security in Somalia celebrating an England goal earlier in the Euros.”
Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane were tonight’s heroes as they sank the Germans with late goals and blew open England’s route to the final of the Euros.
Tonight’s win was England’s first against Germany in a major tournament since 1966 – leaves the Three Lions with a clear path to the final with either the Czech Republic or Denmark waiting in the semis.
Southgate showed extreme caution with his starting line-up and England defended in numbers but nobody here cared as 40,000 roared every block and tackle as if they were goals.
Sterling started and ended the 75th-minute attack which sent England on course for a quarter-final with Sweden or Ukraine in Rome on Saturday night, bursting forward from midfield and then nudged home a cross from Shaw.

Prince William fist pumps the air alongside Prince George and Kate Middleton
And after Shaw ran at the German defence, Grealish centred for Kane to score with a stooping header.
There were famous faces spotted at today’s game, including Prince George with his football-crazy dad, Prince William.
Kate Middleton, who had not seen England play live before, showed her support in a red jacket over a white shirt.
Prince William, who is also President of The Football Association, was seen pumping his fists at Wembley Stadium for England’s fourth match of the Euros.
And while there was no England shirt for seven-year-old Prince George – who instead wore a smart navy blue jacket, shirt and official FA tie – the future king clapped his hands as England thumped to victory.
Mum Kate Middleton also got into the action, donning a bright red jacket from Zara over a white top.
The royals were joined by David Beckham and his son Romeo, along with Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry.
And George – who looked nervous as he sat between his parents for the national anthem – quickly got into the spirit of the game.
Fans turned the sky red and white by letting off flares as they arrived at Wembley draped in England flags.
Over 5 million pints will be drunk by footy fans during the match tonight.
There were scenes of chaos outside the stadium before kickoff as boozed-up fans climbed trees and stripped off while swigging beer.
Roaring choruses of It’s Coming Home were heard in London as excited fans chucked drinks in the air.
The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) believe England fans will neck 5million pints during the mighty clash.
The Three Lions lifted the Jules Rimet trophy thanks to goals from legends Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters.
But what followed is 55 years of hurt for England while Germany enjoyed world dominance at major tournaments.

The rivalry has been bolstered by heartbreaking penalty shootouts and controversial disallowed goals.
In the 1970 World Cup, it was West Germany that put an end to England’s campaign in extra time.
Gazza’s tears were then shared by the whole country after England crashed out of the 1990 World Cup semi-final on penalties.

Italy’s Prime Minister wants Euro 2020 final moved from Wembley to Rome due to rise in Covid cases

ITALY’S prime minister wants the Euro 2020 final moved from London to Rome after a surge in Covid cases in Britain.Mario Draghi said he will do all he can to stop the sporting extravaganza being held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, July 11.

“Yes… I will try to stop the final being held in a country where infections are rising quickly,” he said, before adding he wants the game to be played in the Italian capital instead.
“I advocate that the final should not take place in a country in which the risk of infection is very big.”
He was speaking ahead of a meeting with German chancellor Angela Merkel.
She has also expressed concern about the rise in cases of the Delta variant across the UK.
Draghi’s pledge came as his country reported 21 coronavirus-related deaths on Monday and 495 new cases.
On the same day the UK recorded just five deaths and 10,633 new cases.
But although cases remain relatively high, hospitalisations and deaths are still not as bad as they were in previous waves of the pandemic.
According to Italian news agency ANSA, a source at UEFA said there are no plans to ditch England’s national stadium for the big final.

The insider said the “English federation and the English authorities are working closely together successfully to organise the semi-finals and the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley and there are no plans to change the venue for those matches”.
Meanwhile, UEFA is in talks with the British government about increasing the attendance at Wembley Stadium to 65,000 for the semi-finals and final.
Earlier we reported how the final is almost certain to stay at Wembley after a stoppage-time deal between ministers and Uefa.
Boris Johnson’s team were last night scrambling to stop the last three games of the tournament being switched to Hungary amid a major travel row.
The Sun can reveal Downing Street is on the cusp of an agreement with organisers to allow quarantine-free travel for VIPs.
It could see up to 75,000 fans allowed in to watch the final at the stadium. However last night the Italians threw a spanner in the works by saying it should be stripped from Wembley because of Covid rates.
The Three Lions line up against the Czech Republic tomorrow night, with a win guaranteeing another game at Wembley, against either France, Germany or Portugal.
If they come second with a draw, they will have to go to Copenhagen for an awkward clash against Spain, Slovakia, Sweden or Poland.
A defeat leaves their fate in the lap of the gods.

Harry Kane will again lead out the side after their drab 0-0 draw with Scotland last week.
Talks are also ongoing over increasing the final’s capacity to between 60,000 and 75,000.
Insiders are confident they will strike a deal within the next 24 hours – staving off any threat of the final being moved to Hungary.

Euro 2020: England skipper Harry Kane says his team can beat Scotland and go on to win the tournament

ENGLAND  skipper Harry Kane last night said they can beat Scotland on Friday evening — and then go on to win the Euros. The Three Lions striker, 27, believes they have “a great opportunity” to lift the trophy on home soil  — while cooler temperatures at Wembley tonight  will be a relief.

Kane revealed it was a childhood dream to lead England to its first major trophy since 1966.
He said: “Of course we believe we can win it. We also understand it hasn’t been done for our country for a long time and there’s a lot of hard work along the, hopefully, seven games that we play.
“From my point of view, of course it’s been a dream since I was a kid to win a tournament and lift a trophy with England and to have that opportunity now is exciting.”
He added: “It’s very rare to have a home tournament and for me personally this is as close as it’s going to get. We’ve got to try to use that to our advantage.”

The side roasted in last Sunday afternoon’s 1-0 win over Croatia, but Kane said of tonight’s cooler  conditions: “It will be easier in that aspect.  It was a tough game at 2pm, it felt about 40 degrees on that pitch but I thought we handled that well. It will be nice to play at 8pm in the evening.”
England and Tartan Army supporters  are braced for a blockbuster clash between neighbours, and Kane acknowledged its importance.
He said: “We know what it means to represent England and play Scotland. We will try and use those feelings for our advantage.”
Kane scored a stoppage-time leveller against Scotland in a World Cup qualifier at Hampden in 2017 — his first game as captain.
A strong Scottish performance went unrewarded against the Czech Republic after they were denied on several occasions by the Czech’s impressive keeperCredit: EPA
He recalled: “We went 1-0 up and felt fairly comfortable. Then, all of a sudden, to go 2-1 behind with two great free-kicks was a kick in the teeth, really. The atmosphere that day was incredible, the stadium was going crazy. I thought we showed great resilience to go and get an equaliser after all of that had happened. That was a special occasion for me.”
But he said it was important to stay calm tonight in what promises to be an equally  frenzied atmosphere. He went on: “It is going to be a tough game.
“There has been a lot of build-up around it. But it is our second game at a major tournament and our focus is to try to win and make sure we try to qualify  and give ourselves as much of a chance of getting through to the next round as early as possible.”
He insisted: “We’ve got a great team, we’re in a good place.”
But there was no danger of underestimating Scotland, who lost their opening game 2-0 against the Czech Republic.
England skipper Kane also paid tribute to his former Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen, who collapsed  in Denmark’s opening game last SaturdayCredit: AFP
He said: “We have huge respect for Scotland. They have a lot of great players, a lot of experienced players. Andy Robertson, for one, has won the Premier League, won the Champions League.”
Kane told how England wanted to  at least match their 2018 World Cup performance, when they reached the semi-finals.
He added: “I think that’s the aim. If we fell short of a semi-final, we’d all be disappointed as players, as a country and as staff as well.
“I think we have been moving in the right direction in the last three or four years so the next step is to go one step further, at least, and try and get into that final and hopefully try and win it.”

He also paid tribute to his former Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen, who collapsed  in Denmark’s opening game last Saturday. He said: “It has been difficult, it has been really hard to watch.
“Thankfully Christian is alive. My wife has spoken to his wife and what I understand everything is going in a good way.
“Christian is in all of our hearts. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change. We want to wish him well and I hope to see him soon personally.
“The most important thing is he’s getting better day by day and that he knows our thoughts are with him.” It is estimated that more than half the population of England and Scotland will watch  this evening’s game.  And England manager Gareth Southgate said the side were desperate to perform well for their  supporters.

He added: “For me, it’s always about creating those moments for our fans.
“There are two parts of the job as a manage — getting the best from the players and creating moments for the fans to enjoy.”
Pubs around the country will be showing the game, but one landlord has been warned he will be fined if punters cheer.
Before the Croatia match, Leon Kelly was visited by council officers  at his Level One bar in Darwen, Lancs. They told him he faced a £1,000 fine if supporters made any loud noises. He said: “I just sort of looked at them like, ‘What? How on earth am I supposed to do that?’.
“Do I pause when someone’s about to take a shot on goal and warn everyone to keep quiet?”

Councillors said his  marquee is “partially enclosed” so “singing and shouting” increases Covid risk.
Meanwhile, scientists also warned of fans having heart attacks during  stressful matches.
Cases rise by more than five per cent during big tournaments. If England reach the final, the risk of it being fatal will soar by up to 50 per cent, German researchers said.

Tech giants risk tarnishing golden decade of football by not tackling online racism, Culture Secretary warns

TECH giants risk tarnishing a golden decade of football by not doing enough to tackle online racism, the Culture Secretary says today. After we told of Thierry Henry’s web hell, Oliver Dowden said the Arsenal legend’s evidence was “too toxic to be ignored”.

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has warned that tech giants risk tarnishing a ‘golden decade’ of football by not tackling online racismCredit: The Mega Agency
Facebook, Google and Twitter face fines of billions unless they take action now — with Whitehall drawing up laws that could take ten per cent of their global revenue unless they do more.
Mr Dowden said he held “shocking” chats with players, including Sun columnist Troy Deeney, and it was clear that abuse has migrated from “the stands to social media”.
He said inaction could cast a shadow over the decade of football ahead in which the UK hosts Euro matches this summer and the Women’s Euros come here next year, and we bid for the 2030 World Cup.
He added the time had come for firms to “deploy their brilliant engineers” to strip the sites of hate.
His call in The Sun comes after a government race relations report sparked a row by concluding that the country is a “beacon” to the world.
Dr Tony Sewell wrote in his report: “We no longer see a Britain where the system is deliberately rigged against ethnic minorities.”

The Sun recently told of Thierry Henry’s web hell

The report did say that social media firms don’t do enough to tackle racism.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer called its findings disappointing.
And race campaigners rejected the dossier, saying it failed to take into account the “lived experience” of many Brits.
Let’s see action to tackle itBy Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden
Sadly, racism in football seems to have moved from the stands to social media.
I recently spoke to a group of footballers, including Sun columnist Troy Deeney, to hear directly about the abuse they face and what they’d like their Government to do about it.
They were very open, and it was shocking to hear about the racist abuse they deal with on a daily basis.
As Thierry Henry said, this situation is too toxic to ignore – and I’m determined to tackle it.
After a terrible couple of seasons due to Covid, we should be looking forward to a golden decade of football.
The enthusiasm of the post-lockdown kickoff on Monday shows the strength of the grassroots. The women’s game is flourishing.
We are building better all-weather facilities in every corner of the country.
We will be proud hosts of the Euros this summer and the Women’s Euros next, and we are starting exploratory work on our bid for the World Cup in 2030.
So let’s not allow online abuse to tarnish our game.
Let’s not force footballers to choose between either engaging with their fans and having to see racist comments all hours of the day, or come off social media altogether.
We’ve been working on new laws to make the online world safer. It’s complex, and we have to get it right, and ensure freedom of expression.
But I firmly believe we can have a free and open internet without hateful, racist comments going unchecked.
Companies have a clear picture of what our laws will do.
They can deploy their brilliant engineers right now to stop racist remarks being posted and shared.
I believe them when they say they want their platforms to be positive and safe places. So let’s see the action now.

Tragic last post of Jerome Boateng’s ex Kasia Lenhardt saying ‘now is we where you draw the line’ in cryptic insta pic

THE model ex-girlfriend of Jerome Boateng posted a final cryptic Instagram post which read “now is we where you draw the line”.
Kasia Lenhardt, 25, was found dead in her Berlin apartment yesterday a week after she split from the Bayern Munich footballer.

Last month, the Polish mum-of-one crashed the sportsman’s Mini prompting Boateng to publicly dump Kasia.
In what would become a very public war of words, the ex-Man City player said it was time to “draw a line” and “apologise to everyone I’ve hurt” including his ex-girlfriend and their children.
However, in response, Kasia’s posted a cryptic last Instagram post saying: “Now is where you draw the line. Enough.”
The model – who had a ‘Jerome’ tattoo on her torso – previously responded by saying she ended the relationship because of the World Cup winner’s “lies and constant infidelity”.

    LAST WORDS
Following Boateng’s comments, she said: “Please give me time. I will fight back because I’ve never been so deceived, used and lied to. Give me a moment.”
In a post of the couple which she late deleted, she wrote: “The devil does his best.”
Boateng told German newspaper Bild: “Kasia became my girlfriend by destroying the relationship with my ex-girlfriend Rebecca and my family and blackmailed me.
“So I decided to stay with Kasia and try to make it work.”

Boateng’s ex-partner Rebecca Silvera also posted clips from alleged voice messages sent by Kasia on Instagram, reports RTL.
Branding the messages “manipulative”, Rebecca told the news outlet: “Kasia destroyed my family for her own benefit.
“I’m not going to let her destroy Jerome too. I’m not going to let her play the victim. She’s done enough damage.”
Boating has left Bayern’s World Club Cup squad in Qatar following the news of Kasia’s death, his manager Hansi Flick said.
He departs the tournament ahead of tomorrow’s final where Bayern will play Mexican club Tigres UANL.
Flick said:“Jerome was in my room and asked me to go home.
    BOATENG FLYING HOME
“From the club side, we also fulfilled his wish.
“After the corona test, which he also needs to enter Germany, he will travel home and will not be available to us until further notice. ”
Yesterday, police found Kasia’s body at her home – although authorities are not treating her death as suspicious.
Kasia shot to fame on TV show Germany’s Next Top Model in 2012.

The 25-year-old leaves behind a son, named Noah, from a previous relationship which ended three years ago.
A police spokesman said: “Yesterday at around 8.30 pm there was a police operation in Charlottenburg on suspicion of suicide.
“A lifeless person was found in the home. There are no indications of third-party involvement.”

The model’s death was first confirmed by her friend Sara Kulka who wrote on Instagram: “Rest in peace. You wonderful person, I miss you and would have loved to say goodbye.
“I hope you find your peace now and I hope the truth comes out now, I know how much you wished it would.
“I will never forget you, I don’t know anyone who could laugh like you. I send a lot of strength to the family.”

Mike Tyson feels ‘guilty’ over Tupac death as he ‘pressured him’ to watch his Vegas fight where rapper was killed

MIKE Tyson has revealed he feels “guilty” about Tupac Shakur’s death after “pressuring” him to come to Las Vegas to watch him fight.
The ring legend says he urged the rapper to come and see him take on Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand on September 7, 1996.

Hours after Tyson stopped his rival in the first round, Tupac – who had a ringside seat for the big fight – was gunned down in a drive-by shooting as he headed to a gig at Club 662 in Sin City.
Rap mogul Suge Knight was in a black BMW next to Tupac when they were targeted by a mystery gunman in a suspected revenge hit.
And Tyson also revealed he was due to hook up with his pal at the nightspot but instead stayed in to look after his new baby.
In a VladTV interview, boxer Zab Judah asks the former heavyweight champ how he felt when he heard Tupac had been killed.

Tyson replied: “It was a really bad day when that happened….it was really bad.
“I felt a little guilty about him coming to the fight….me pressuring him (saying) ‘hey you wanna bring the tape, don’t forget the tape.”
The tape Tyson was referring to was the customised music to be used for his entrance to the ring.
“I was going to go out with him that night. I promised to go with him to the 662.

“But I had just had a little baby and her mother provoked me to stay at home.

Tupac was involved in a brawl at the MGM hours before he was shot
“Someone called me that night and told me what happened….and I come to me senses.
“This is what happens in my world…that was part of my world. But just because it was Tupac and I was attached to it, it was different.
“I expect someone to die after a fight or somebody to get hurt or something crazy to happen but when it happened to him at was different.”
Tupac was involved in his own fight the night Tyson stepped into the ring in Vegas.
He and his crew – some with links to LA street gang the Bloods – attacked rival Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson in the casino-hotel.
It was a brawl some believe ultimately led to the much-loved rapper’s shocking death.
Tyson and Tupac were close friends in the 1990s and the boxer received prison visits from the music star while behind bars following his conviction for rape in 1992.

He was assigned to the Indiana Youth Center, where he would regularly be visited by celebrities.
But Tyson revealed recently the most respected guest that came to see him was the hip hop legend.
He told rapper TI: “The guards didn’t like him, the inmates got rowdy and pumped up when he came which is a safety concern.
“He was a bolt of energy there. When he came in everybody knew him, he had mad respect. That’s how he lived his life, he had mad respect.”
Shakur himself served time for sexual assault after being convicted during a showcase trial in 1994.

Tyson returned to the ring in 1995 after his release, with his comeback fight against Peter McNeeley grossing £79m worldwide and selling a then record 1.52m PPV’s, equating to £51m.
Just a year later he beat Frank Bruno to win the WBC title, but then lost to Evander Holyfield before infamously biting his ear in their 1997 rematch.
Tyson retired in 2005 after losing to Kevin McBride and left the sport with a record of 50–6-2 and remains one of the most celebrated heavyweights of all time. More

Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s Watford ace fiance Andre Gray flouts lockdown rules to hold illegal poker party

WATFORD ace Andre Gray has apologised for holding a Covid poker party with pals when his Little Mix girlfriend was away – months after previously flouting lockdown rules.
The illegal gambling session was held at the £5million Surrey mansion he shares with pop star fiancé Leigh-Anne Pinnock – despite an England-wide ban on households mixing.

Video footage obtained by The Sun shows Gray behind the posh bar of his sprawling home while friends sit around playing poker on Saturday night.
Footie star Gray, who pockets £50,000 a week, had six mates over for the knees-up despite Britain currently enduring tough coronavirus lockdown laws.
A source said: “He was well aware that you’re not allowed friends round for a social in light of what’s going on – but he did it anyway.

“Leigh-Anne was away working with Little Mix so he thought it would be a good idea to get the boys round for a gambling session.
    ‘ARROGANCE’
“It stinks of arrogance when you think of what the rest of the country is having to go through.”
Staggeringly it is the second time Gray has broken covid rules in just a matter of months.
The Watford frontman was given the hairdryer treatment by boss Nigel Pearson in June after holding a birthday bash at his mansion.

He was axed from the squad to avoid the risk of potentially catching and spreading Covid-19 to team-mates.
He was forced to make a grovelling apology to his gaffer and colleagues.
It is expected he will be forced out the squad for a second time in light of his latest covid breach.

After getting caught for a second time, Gray told The Sun last night: “On Saturday evening I hosted a small gathering at my home.
“In hindsight, it was incredibly naïve to do so and is deeply regrettable.
“I would like to wholeheartedly apologise.”
