      With only three wins and three draws in 18 games, Southampton only have 12 points to show as we approach the halfway point of the season.
      The Saint’s are looking to strengthen up their back line after only keeping one clean sheet this season, the least of any of the 20 teams in the league.
      Michael Keane has emerged as a favourite for the seaside club with the England defender struggling for game time at Everton, playing only 22 minutes in the league this season.
      The leadership qualities as well as the experience of Keane has made Southampton eager to complete the move.

      The 29-year-old is contracted to Everton until 2025, however the club are happy to accept a permanent offer for Keane after rejecting a loan deal beforehand.
      Keane made the move from Burnley to Merseyside in 2017 for £25million.
      He has amassed 189 appearances for Everton as far as well as earning 12 caps for England during his tenure at The Toffees.
      Since 2017 Keane as been a regular in the Everton defence, yet the additions of Conor Coady and James Tarkowski last summer has seen the former Manchester United player jousted out the side.

      The video came after Argentina’s 2-0 win to Mexico during the group stages of the World Cup, a game in which Messi scored his first of the competition to keep his nations hope of progressing alive.
      This led to the undisputed super-middleweight champion unleash his fury on the Argentine tweeting “Saw Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag? He should ask God that I don’t find him.
      “Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico. I’m not talking about the country as a whole, I’m talking about the bulls**t Messi did”
      Many Argentinians were quick to jump to the defence of Messi such as Sergio Aguero and UFC fighter Sergio Ponzinibbio.

      This led to Canelo offering out an apology to the seven-time Ballon D’or winner.
      He said: “These last few days I got carried away by the passion and love I feel for my country and made comments that were out of place for which I want to apologise to Messi and the people of Argentina.
      “Every day we learn something new and this time it was my turn.
      “I wish both teams much success in their matches today and here we will continue supporting Mexico until the end.”

      However this didn’t stop one Mexican fan who went a step further and apologised to the PSG forwards wife, Antonella Roccuzzo.
      In the video the fan approached Roccuzzo, 34, and said “We want to apologise for Messi.”

      Yet a torn meniscus suffered during pre-season in July brought his hopes of featuring in Qatar to a swift end.
      Despite his absence, the former Manchester United player has been vocal in his support for his national team on social media, posting good luck messages for his teammates.
      After experiencing many injuries to key players in the build up to the competition such as Pogba, N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema, the French President Emmanuel Macron was keen to bring them to Qatar for the final to cheer on Les Bleus.

      Juventus are reluctant to let Pogba travel while he’s recovering as they hope for him to return to action before the end of the season.

      In a survey consisting of 2,000 Brits, 39% of them believed a traditional British roast to be the best of them all, jousting out France’s coq au vin in the final.
      Spanish paella took bronze spot with Mexico’s taco’s just missing out on the podium in fourth alongside an American hamburger rounding out the top five.
      However pre-tournament World Cup favourites Argentina and Brazil both failed to make a dent in the top 15 with their national dishes, finishing in 16th and 17th place respectively.
      The poll’s organiser and TUI’s director of brand and content Toby Horry said of the results “I’m sure our knockout competition of world food will trigger a lot of debate.

      The Travis County Sheriff’s office lists that the Texas Longhorns coach was arrested on domestic violence charges and booked on a third-degree felony.
      As per the police report, Beard was charged with “assault on a family/household member” and “impeding breath circulation.”
      Investigative reporter for the Statesmen and KVUE, Tony Plohetski, first took to Twitter on Monday today to share the news.
      He first tweeted: “University of Texas head men’s basketball coach Chris Beard was arrested and charged with assault on a family member early Monday, Austin police confirm. We are attempting to learn more.”

      In a follow-up tweet, minutes later, he wrote: “UPDATE: Austin police spokesman Brandon Jones says it is alleged that Beard strangled a person at a home in Tarrytown.
      “Officers responded to a 911 ‘disturbance-urgent’ call at 2:07am Monday.”
      An Austin Police spokesperson told CBS Sports that Beard was arrested and booked at 4:18am local time after responding to a “disturbance hot shot.”
      And a Travis County Jail spokeswoman told Horns247 that a bond hearing will be set sometime on Monday.

      His bail is expected to be set on the charge at the bond hearing.
      Beard, who is from Marietta, Georgia, is currently in his second season as the Longhorns’ head coach.
      And his team is scheduled to play at the Moody Center arena on Monday night.
      The University of Texas released the following statement after the arrest: “The University is aware of the situation regarding Chris Beard.
      “We are continuing to gather information and monitoring the legal process.”
      The longtime basketball coach has orchestrated several plays with a number of teams and led Texas Tech University’s Red Raiders to the top of the NCAA tournament.
      Beard previously worked as a head coach at McMurry University, Angelo State, Arkansas Little Rock, and Texas Tech.
      From 1991 to 1995, he served as the head coach of the University of Texas Longhorns.
      On April 1, 2021, Chris became the head coach of the Longhorns 26 years after the conclusion of his first stint with the team.
