Premier League approached by Netflix to film tell-all ‘Formula 1: Drive To Survive’ style documentary

THE PRODUCERS of Netflix’s popular series ‘Formula 1: Drive To Survive’ have approached the Premier League over producing a similar documentary for them.Box To Box Films – the company behind Drive to Survive – want to add the Premier League to their portfolio of sports they cover in tell-all and exclusive behind-the-scenes documentaries.

According to The Times, clubs were informed of the idea earlier this week and talks will now take place ahead of the potential project.
F1 has seen a massive boom in popularity since the series began to air on Netflix in 2019.
It gave viewers an insight into an otherwise exclusive world where driver’s personalties only shone through in press conferences and on track.
Last season’s dramatic title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen saw record viewing figures and attendances at a number of races across the season.

This included the Silverstone Grand Prix – where the attendance record was again broken this year as 142,000 attended race day – and the season finale in Abu Dhabi which saw a whopping 108.7 million viewers tune in.
In a potential collaboration between the Premier League and Box To Box it is hoped a similar impact can be felt.
English clubs have already allowed Amazon to produce behind-the-scenes documentaries including Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
Of course, the Premier League is far larger market than F1 and it is already close to bursting in a domestic sense.

Consequently, league chiefs have turned their attention internationally, which is viewed as having the biggest growth potential for the English top flight.
Such a move is likely to also benefit likely streaming platform Netflix, after they lost 200,000 subscribers following a price hike in April. More

Paolo Maldini, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Christian Vieri and Diego Simeone have all offered up their opinions on the South American and his undeniable greatness.
But Atletico Madrid boss Simeone had perhaps the best quote about the former Barcelona and Real Madrid man.
He said: “He was a b******. He was a bastard because he could do anything.”
Meanwhile, Zidane referenced Ronaldo’s famous haircut from the 2000s and said: “With his thing here [points to his head].

“I couldn’t have got away with it myself, but he was El Phenomenon.”
Maldini added: “The three greatest players I saw during my career were Messi, Maradona and him.”
And Carlos said: “Ronaldo is unique. Ronaldo has done things on the pitch that no other player has done or will do.”
Ronaldo also spoken in the short clip about the times he went through airports to incredible fanfair.
Reacting to a clip of the pandemonium from back in the day, the Brazilian said: “Crazy, right? I still have airport trauma today and it’s probably because of those trips.”
Ronaldo also sat down with former roommate Carlos to discuss the infamous 1998 World Cup final.
The striker scored four goals on the way to the final but then missed the clash with France after suffering a convulsive fit just hours before the match.
Brazil lost 3-0 as France claimed the trophy for the first time.
And the DAZN trailer shows Ronaldo and Carlos discussing the hotel room they shared at the tournament.

Netflix and Amazon Prime in bidding war to sign Man Utd for revealing fly-on-the-wall docuseries like All or Nothing

NETFLIX and Amazon Prime are in a bidding war to sign Manchester United for a new fly-on-the-wall documentary series.TV execs are keen to capitalise on the popularity of the recent All or Nothing documentary which follows the rollercoaster year endured by Arsenal last season.
Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing: Netflix has been a massive hit
Manchester City, Tottenham and Sunderland have also appeared in similar shows – and all have proved huge ratings successes.
SunSport understands that Manchester United are the top of the list for the bosses of streaming giants – and they are willing to pay MILLIONS for it.
A source said: “The story of the rebuild of Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and the campaign to remove the Glazer family from the club is like a Hollywood movie in itself.
“That’s why the club has become the new target for both Amazon Prime and Netflix producers and offers have gone in several times.

“Producers have made great play of the fact a programme would be a chance for the directors to show a different side to their role at the club, much like the way Arsenal’s owners did in All or Nothing.
“So far United haven’t given the idea the green light. But the interest remains strong and is unlikely to go away.”

The streaming giants are prepared to pay Man Utd a huge sum to allow the cameras inside the club.
The source continued: “Amazon paid about £10m for the All or Nothing series.

“But producers would be willing to go much, much more than that if they could get access to the biggest club in the world.
“Viewers from China to America to Manchester would be tuning in if they could pull it off.”
Sun Online understands Barcelona are also being targeted for a fly-on-the-wall show with interest high following the club’s financial turmoil.
The story of Wrexham’s purchase by Hollywood owners is also currently drawing in viewers from around the world on Disney Plus and has been acclaimed by critics.
Our source added: “Fly on the wall football shows are very much in fashion at the moment and Amazon and Netflix want to show more and more of them.
“Most top clubs have their own TV channel these days but they don’t show the true inside story of what goes on, which is why fly on the wall programmes are proving to be so popular right now.”

That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim Amazon want to film the newly-rich North East club for the duration of the 2023/24 season.
The season would hit the silver screen in the summer of 2024 and could provide a unique insight into life at the club since the Saudi-led takeover last October.
Amazon chiefs, however, will face an uphill battle to convince the Newcastle brass to give them all access as they’ve already turned down multiple offers from production companies.

‘A dream for some, a nightmare for others’ – Flamengo brilliantly announce Vidal transfer with Stranger Things video

Flamengo found a unique way to make the Chile midfielder’s arrival official – with a short video referencing the popular Netflix show Stranger Things.
The clip starts with Vecna’s clock ticking in Hawkins, Indiana and then the scene transitions to the Upside Down, which is the sinister parallel universe in which the show’s main antagonist resides.
It then issues the following cryptic message: “The time has come. Just a song can save it.”
Vidal is then presented as part of the TV show’s dark background, which becomes lighter as the club’s official anthem starts to play.
