EDDIE Jordan has revealed Michael Schumacher’s wife denied him a visit to see the Formula 1 legend after his horror skiing accident.Schumacher, 53, continues to recover from the 2013 French Alps accident and wife Corinna keeps his condition a closely guarded secret with strict rules about who’s allowed to see him.

Corinna prefers to treat her husband privately at their home in Geneva, Switzerland with ex-Ferrari boss Jean Todt one of the few people allowed to see him outside his immediate family.
Jordan gave Schumacher his break in Formula 1 back in 1991, when the German made his debut for the Irishman’s team at the Belgian Grand Prix, and the pair remained friends after he left to join Ferrari.
He has now revealed he contacted Corinna, who was once the girlfriend of his team’s driver Heinz Harold Frentzenm, before she went on to marry Schumacher.
“So, there was connection and I reached out and one stage asked was it appropriate and did I think we should go and visit him,” the Dubliner told the Irish Daily Mirror.

“The answer was no. No visitations for anyone at that moment except the actual direct family.
“However, since then, young Mick Schumacher – Michael’s son – has reached out to me, and he has been extraordinary.”
It comes as Todt has now revealed he visits Schumacher up to three times a week and assured fans that he is “in the best of hands”.
He thanked Michael’s fans for their devotion and told them their beloved icon is surrounded by people who love him.

“I’m happy that the fans, not only in Germany, think of him so much,” he told Bild.
“People ask so much about Michael. The fans should know that he is in the best of hands. In the best situation he can be and surrounded by people who love him.”
The ex-F1 boss also confirmed he is a frequent visitor to the Schumacher home.
“As long as I am in this world, I will always visit him,” he said.
“Sometimes we see each other three times a week, sometimes not for a whole month.
“They are my friends and we are in constant contact. Whatever I can do for the Schumacher family, I’ll do it.”
Corinna recently broke down in tears when her husband was honoured with an award at an emotional ceremony in July.
The Ferrari icon was awarded the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Corinna, and daughter Gina-Maria, 25, were present to accept the honour on his behalf – and were joined on stage by Todt.
Todt previously shared details about the star’s condition and said he “hopes the world” will be able to see his dear friend again, adding Schumacher has “never changed”.
He continued: “I don’t leave him alone. Him, Corinna, the family, we’ve had so many experiences together.
“The beauty of what we have experienced is part of us and it goes on.
“Sometimes success and money changes you. But Michael has never changed. He’s so strong.”
He said he regularly visits Schumacher and the pair watch Formula One races together.
He told German TV channel RTL: “I don’t miss Michael, I see him. Yes, it’s true, I watch races with Michael.
“But sure, I guess what I miss is what we used to do together.”
Schumacher was recruited for the Jordan team as a last minute replacement for an existing driver, who had been jailed for assault.

Brit McLaren driver Norris urged a mystery model in leaked messages from his Instagram account: “Ordering McDonald’s come join.”
He begged the Dutch woman, who had told him they had met at last year’s race in Zandvoort, to join him at his luxury hotel on Tuesday for burgers and fries and told her: “I’m single now.”
When his flirty messages ended up online, Lando, 22, privately pleaded to the model “please delete them haha”.
He then frantically shared on his Instagram that Luisinha, 22, and he had “mutually decided” to go their separate ways after eight months — despite the pair looking like honeymooners in loved-up snaps posted four weeks ago.

He wrote: “I wish her the world and have so much respect for her and all she does as an amazing and strong woman with nothing but kindness.”
Luisinha cryptically posted on Wednesday: “Enjoy every given moment.”
But to add further intrigue to the drama, Norris later deleted his message about the pair’s split.
McLaren made no comment, while a source close to Norris told The Sun that he only messaged the mystery Dutch girl after breaking up with Luisinha.

Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso make up after Spaniard blasted F1 rival as ‘idiot’ after Belgian GP crash row

LEWIS HAMILTON has cooled his rift with rival Fernando Alonso by insisting he is trying to “be a better driver”.The seven-time world champion was blasted as “an idiot” by the Spaniard after they crashed on the first lap of last Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix.

Alonso also accused Hamilton, saying he “only knows how to drive and start in first” in a petulant attack.
Hamilton accepted the blame for the incident that forced his retirement from the race despite being cleared by the stewards.
The 37-year-old then joked on social media that he’d offer Alonso a signed cap as a peace offering.
And the Alpine driver duly collected the hat ahead of this weekend’s Dutch GP after meeting Hamilton and clearing the air.

Hamilton said: “It’s not a thing for me. It doesn’t change anything, it doesn’t really affect me in the slightest.
“With the cap it was just a little fun thing. It’s good to have fun sometimes with these things.
“For me, I am always trying to be a better driver.
“Also, I know there are a lot of young kids that are following me and it’s important the steps I try to take in my behaviour, so I am always trying to learn and be better.”

A feud between the two is nothing new – when they were teammates at McLaren for one season in 2007 there were disputes that resulted in Alonso quitting the team.
Alonso has also tried to play down the rift and admitted in his apology that he spoke out of turn.
However, he said that there is always an inevitable backlash whenever a Latin driver criticises a British driver.
Alonso added: “Lewis is a champion, he’s a legend of our time. And then when you say something – and I’m sorry to repeat this – against a British driver, there is huge media involvement after that.
“They’ve been saying a lot of things to Checo [Sergio Perez], to Carlos [Sainz], to me.
“If you say something to a Latin driver, everything’s a little bit more fun. When you say something to others, it’s a little bit more serious.
“But anyway, yes, I apologise. I was not thinking about what I said.
    Most read in Sport
“I don’t think that there was much to blame in that moment, to be honest, looking at the replays and everything, because it’s a first lap incident, we are all very close together.”
The veteran also backtracked on his comments that Hamilton only knows how to race when he starts at the front.
Alonso said: “It’s something that you say in the heat of the moment. But as I said, nothing that I said is true, or there are facts that are completely the opposite.
“I have huge respect. I have absolutely no problems with him.
“The heat of the moment and the adrenaline of the moment, fighting for finally top two, top three, made me say those comments that I should not say.”
Hamilton is looking to break his duck at this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix and will NOT be taking engine penalties as it stands.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is the clear favourite, with F1 bosses saying his home race is a 300,000 sell-out over the weekend.

But when his Ferrari Driver Academy contract expires at the end of the year, Schumacher will not be kept on, report Motorsport.com.
Haas have not confirmed the news but driver Antonio Giovinazzi is reportedly being lined up as the youngster’s replacement.
That would leave Schumacher without a team, though his close friend Esteban Ocon has backed him to join Alpine.
He said: “What I would like is for Mick to race with me, that is clear cause he is my good friend, but that is not going into the bosses’ ear. I’ll let them decide.”

Schumacher joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2019 – a year after winning the European F3 championship.
He was given his first taste of F1 in Bahrain in April 2019, before having a second outing for Alfa Romeo the following day.
Later that year he teamed up with Haas in Abu Dhabi but only scored his first F1 points at Silverstone this year.
Schumacher followed up that success with a sixth-place finish in Austria but it is believed he has not done enough to earn another year.
