But while we know so much about Hamilton, Chamley-Watson remains somewhat more of a mystery.

SunSport looks into the seven-time F1 champion’s friendship with the renowned fencer, as well as tell you a little bit about who he is.
    Sporting prowess
Chamley-Watson has scored plenty of success in the world of fencing.
Born in London, he moved to the US when he was eight and took up the sport he would later make his name in at the Knox School just a year later.
It shaped his formative years, earning him a scholarship to Pennsylvania State University.

By the time of his senior year in 2011, Miles would earn himself top spot on the United States’ Olympic Fencing team as a foil fencer.
He competed in the 2012 Games, but was defeated in the second round by Egyptian Alaaeldin Abouelkassem, who would go on to win a silver medal in the individual event.
A year later, Chamley-Watson won the World Championship – becoming the first American to achieve such a feat.
Four years later in Rio de Janeiro, Chamley-Watson would walk away with a bronze medal in the team event for the USA.

Blessed with good looks, and standing at a mountainous 6ft4in, he has also become the poster boy for his sport – earning sponsorships with Nike, modelling for Coach, Richard Mille watches, and Mumm’s champagne.
His aim was to bring fencing to the mainstream – inspiring kids who were once like him, restless, bullied and misunderstood.
Back in 2021, he told Robb Report: “I want to show kids what they can do.
“I’m even working on new outfits and a scoring system with flashing lights to get fencing on primetime TV.”
    Birthday beats
Hamilton and Chamley-Watson’s paths crossed at the Met Gala in 2016 and immediately hit it off.
They have been regulars together ever since, cutting fine figures on the red carpet of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.
The two have been seen jogging on the beach together at Byron Bay, before last month’s Australian Grand Prix.
They are also happy to share a cryotherapy chamber treatment in unison, where participants can be exposed to temperatures as low as -200°C.
Back in January, Miles spelled out his love for Hamilton in a gushing birthday message.
Sharing a suited and booted picture from their 2021 Met Gala appearance, he wrote: “My brother. Happy Birthday. This is gonna be an incredible year for you I know it. Love man’s to the moon and back. Everyone go wish my bestie the best of birthdays! Man’s is also aging backwards.”
Last week, Justin Bieber was allowed to join in on their bromance in Indio valley, as they partied at Coachella.

The beautiful redhead, 28, is best known for starring in teen drama Riverdale as Cheryl Blossom.
They were spotted together in Los Angeles in 2021, but kept their romance private.
They do not share photos on social media together – adding to the mystery of their relationship furthermore – but they still follow one another on Instagram.

Not giving up on his dream
For now, Chamley-Watson is focused on fencing, appearing at the 2024 Olympics and helping kids from all backgrounds compete in fencing.
He told fashion website Highsnobiety: “I have an Olympic gold to win and 2024 is around the corner.
“For my sport, I think most of my foundation, which is going to promote fencing. We’re gonna take care of four to eight kids a year and pay for their training.
“Also, we’re gonna put on a couple competitions live next, actually, this year as well as next season on Facebook, NBC and Redbull TV.
“So, think big. Fencing is never gonna be the same after I’m done with it. Exposure-wise, my goal is to get a million kids fencing. Also, just like bringing an audience to fencing.

I’m a former F1 racer whose career ended after just one lap – it was nice to be a driver for the weekend

Lotterer thought his F1 career was never going to take off after becoming a test and reserve driver for Jaguar.
But after winning three of the previous four Le Mans 24-hour titles, he was thrust onto the starting gird.
Lotterer became the oldest F1 debutant in over 20 years, aged 32-years-old.
However, his cameo did not go to plan despite finishing above team-mate Marcus Ericsson in qualifying.

Lotterer was forced to retire from the race, having completed only one lap due to a technical fault.
He told the Daily Star: “I was happy. I did a good qualifying, was in front of my team-mate without testing anything, so it was good.
“A fuse popped over the curb, so I only managed to last 1.9 laps. It was (frustrating), but it is like that sometimes.
“I knew it was just going to be a one-off. They actually asked me to race in Monza the race after, then Abu Dhabi for the final, but I didn’t do it.

“With my age and because I was racing with Audi at the time, being on the top of my game in endurance, it might sound weird, but I was not interested.
“I knew there was no shot for me to go into a good team and I had no interest in being in a back-marker team just to be in F1.
“It was nice to be an F1 driver for a weekend, but I was already established in endurance and knew I would not be able to be an F1 driver.”

Dramatic moment Emiliano Martinez’s rally driver brother is forced to abandon car after it goes up in flames

EMILIANO MARTINEZ’S rally driver brother had to abandon his car after it dramatically went up in flames. Alejandro Martinez was taking part in a motor race in their homeland Argentina.
Emiliano Martinez’s brother’s car went up in flames
The driver was leading the race in Argentina
He showed quick thinking to get out of the burning vehicle
But he suffered a dramatic incident halfway through the 12-lap race in La Plata, 35 miles south of Buenos Aires.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper’s sibling was winning when he collided his tyre with another car as they raced around a bend.
And very soon after, Martinez slowed down and stopped the car to the side of the track.
A TV commentator said: “There’s a bit of smoke coming out of the tyre I think more than anything, the left tyre.

“We’ll have to see if something’s rubbing the tyre or if it’s coming from the engine.”
But then, incredibly, flames suddenly appeared from the bottom of the vehicle and quickly engulfed the car.
The commentator added: “Fire, fire, Martinez’s car is alight,” as the driver reacted rapidly to unbuckle his seatbelt and jump out of the burning motor to safety.
Martinez was then spotted angrily throwing his gloves to the ground, seemingly furious at exiting the race.

The driver posted video footage from inside his car, showing the moment flames travelled up the bonnet and covered his windscreen as he came to a stop.
He wrote on Instagram: “A beautiful weekend but one to forget.
“We were in the lead and in a minor race collision I ran out of engine and it broke.
“Luckily we came out of it unharmed. Another one to learn from. I thank my family for their unconditional support.”
Martinez is racing this year in a competition called the Bora Cup, driving a Volkswagen with the same number 23 his younger brother wears for the World Cup-winning Argentine national team.
Both siblings are mad about cars and motor racing.
They went to watch the 2018 World Cup in Russia together as fans.
Emiliano only made his international debut in 2021 and went on to play a crucial role in Lionel Scaloni’s team winning the Copa America that year.

Revealing how he predicted in a conversation with his older brother he would play in the 2022 World Cup, he said in a press conference ahead of the final: “During the 2014 World Cup final I was cooking a barbecue for my family.
“In 2018 in Russia I was in the stands with my brother and I told him that in the next one, I would be there.” More

Lewis Hamilton blasted as a ‘spoiled little boy’ and a ‘whiner’ in vicious unprovoked attack by ex-F1 team manager

LEWIS HAMILTON has been slammed as a “whiner” and “spoiled little boy” by a former McLaren and Ferrari employee in a shock and unprovoked attack. The seven-time Formula One world champion has made a disappointing start to the campaign and has been vocal about his car’s lack of pace.

Hamilton called for “accountability” from Mercedes after they ignored his advice on what was needed for his motor last year.
The team’s chief Toto Wolff then even admitted after those remarks that they were going to scrap their current ‘zeropod’ design.
However, ex-F1 team manager Joan Villadelprat has now blasted Hamilton for being too outspoken in a scathing attack.
He told El Confidencial: “Hamilton is fed up and, if he doesn’t win, he’s like a spoiled little boy: you either win or you break the toys.

“He’s a whiner, you know. The tyres, the strategy, he questions everything, and he has screwed up. When you have a [teammate] who is faster than you, it is normal to be quiet and put your head under your wing.
“I think he hasn’t lost but, after seven titles… What motivates you? Well, win another. And you’re not going to risk your skin if you don’t have that car.
“What is evident is that Hamilton is not the same as his first or second championship.”
Hamilton ended up finishing behind team-mate George Russell in the Drivers’ Championship last season.

Tomico’s team, Vallejo Racing, paid tribute to him in a touching statement.
They wrote: “Again, this sport hits us where it hurts the most.
“Vallejo Racing is in mourning because we lose one of our own: David López Tomico, a passionate lover of motorsport, a leader in his work and an example of perseverance and love for his own.

“Today we not only lose a mechanic or a team member, but we leave a friend of the real ones. David, your strength will always be with us.”
It comes after four-time British motorcycling champion Keith Farmer died aged just 35 following an injury-enforced retirement.
An inquest into Farmer’s death recorded a verdict of suicide after the court heard of his struggles with his exit from the sport and the breakdown of his relationship.
    You’re Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Lewis Hamilton should QUIT Mercedes and join rival team for ‘match made in heaven’, says F1 legend

EX Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan has said that Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari would be his ‘dream’ and a ‘match made in heaven.’ Hamilton, 38, has been linked with a move to the Scuderia in the past but a move away from Mercedes has never materialised.

The seven time world champion is out of contract with the Brackley based outfit at the end of the season and has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Silver Arrows continuing to struggle.
The Mercedes driver is still searching for a first win since the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2021 and former F1 team boss Jordan feels Hamilton should join the scarlet red outfit.
Speaking to The Express at Luxury London Afloat he said: “There’s only one place he could go to in my opinion and that is Ferrari. A guy with the talent that he is, and I think it might be a [match made] in heaven.
“I think Ferrari need shaking up and I think Lewis Hamilton needs shaking up, if they are going to continue.”

Jordan feels that if Hamilton is going to continue in the sport then he needs a change.
He said: “If Lewis is going to continue then I think he needs a change. For his mindset, for his drive, for an initiative, for fun. Learning Italian, dealing and eating pasta with those guys, it’s a different world. And having run a team we always saw how different Ferrari operates and I would love to see Lewis in that environment.”
And with Ferrari still searching for a first championship since 2007 Jordan feels the Brit is the man to shake the team up.
He added: “I think he could really shake them up. I think he could bring a new sense of direction to them, I think he would eradicate a lot of the little problems Ferrari have had.

“So therefore, I would just like to see before he fully retires, I would like to see Lewis there for a year or two to see what would happen. Just think of the column inches. It’s an amazing story. It’s unlikely to happen but it’s my dream.”
Hamilton himself has previously stated that it would be ‘crazy’ if he didn’t get a chance to drive for Formula One’s most historic team, whilst also saying that getting behind the wheel of a Ferrari would be a ‘dream position’ for anyone.
Formula One returns to action next weekend after a four week break with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, with Hamilton hoping his Mercedes car will be more competitive. More
