Watch Jake Paul arrive on a HORSE for open workout as YouTube star prepares to commence ‘war’ on UFC icon Anderson Silva

JAKE PAUL rocked up on a HORSE for his open workout as he prepares to commence “war” on Anderson Silva. The YouTuber-turned boxer returns over the weekend in Arizona, his first bout in ten months.

And he announced his grand arrival in style, riding into the open workout session on a horse, just days before his battle in the ring.
Paul, 25, said: “I’m going to war. I feel like a warrior a gladiator, that’s really what this is on Saturday.
“And I am going to war, this is one of the toughest fighters in the world, a combat sports legend.
“It’s not going to be an easy fight, so I’ve got to come in on the horse like I’m preparing for battle.”

Woodley only filled on under two weeks’ notice after Tommy Fury, 23, pulled out of his grudge match against Paul with a rib injury.

Anderson Silva says ‘I am fit and ready’ as he clarifies talk he was KO’d in sparring and plots knockout of Jake Paul

ANDERSON SILVA has shut down suggestions he was knocked-out twice in sparring ahead of his fight with Jake Paul. The pair are set to go head-to-head in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend as the 47-year-old looks to continue his impressive start to life in boxing after a long time in UFC.

With Paul looking to claim one of the biggest scalps of his career, Silva has a challenge on his hands to make it five wins in six fights.
But fans were left worried by his preparation after the UFC legend said he was knocked out twice in sparring ahead of the bout.
But he has since clarified his comments.
Silva was quotes as saying: “I’m training hard for win — I’m training with the good boxers, high-level, and five guys come to help me.

“And the last sparring with [my sparring partner], he is knocked me out two times, and when I finish my training, I talked to my coach and even said, ‘coach, let me tell you something, why the guys knock me out two times?’
“And the coach said, ‘You need to prepare for war, and you prepare for war.’”
But Silva’s longtime coach Luiz Carlos Dorea told MMA Fighting that Silva’s story was incorrect, and he was not knocked out.
He said: “What I can say is that didn’t happen,” he said. “Thank God we follow all the steps in training and Anderson did excellent sparring [sessions]. He’s 100 percent for the fight.”

Silva has also clarified his comment.
He said: “After seeing the reports and concern for me, I’d like to clarify two important things. One, I was NEVER knocked out in sparring. I misspoke in that interview as I sometimes do when interviewing in English and exaggerated the normal back-and-forth action that occurs in sparring.
“Second, this sparring session I referenced was in early September. The interview with MMA Weekly was done on September 13 and, for some reason, just released this week. So, it wasn’t recent.
“More importantly, my training camp has been great. I am fit and ready to fight and the only knockout people should be worried about is the one I’m about to deliver to Jake Paul on Saturday night.”
Despite the denial, The Arizona Department of Gaming, which oversees the state’s boxing commission, said they would be “looking into the matter.”
Silva is looking to hand The Problem Child his first loss.
Paul was supposed to be fighting Tommy Fury in August but plans fell through after an issue with the Brit’s US visa.

A bout with Hasim Rahman Jr was also set up, but that also fell through due to a problem making weight on the heavyweight fighter’s side.

JAKE PAUL called on the help of Tyson Fury and Andre Ward’s old rivals to help him prepare to fight Anderson Silva. The YouTuber-turned boxer returns over the weekend in Arizona, his first bout in ten months.

But during that hiatus from the ring, Paul has been secretly mixing it with champions of the past.
That includes Steve Cunningham, 46, the former IBF cruiserweight title holder who in 2013 dropped but lost to Tyson Fury.
And most recently Chad Dawson, 40, the three time light-heavyweight champ who lost to American great Ward in 2012.

‘He can take it all’ – Jake Paul backed to become world champ by prodigy who was stunned by YouTuber’s boxing knowledge

JAKE PAUL has been backed to reach the pinnacle of boxing by his prodigy Ashton Sylve, who was left in shock by his celebrity manager. Sylve is 8-0 with a 100 per cent knockout ratio and a target of almost every promoter by the time he was just 18.
Women’s world champion Amanda Serrano, Ashton Sylve and Jake Paul
But Paul and his Most Valuable Promotions stable managed to snap up the exciting American prospect.
The pair trained together briefly after Sylve took a trip to the YouTuber-turned boxer’s Puerto Rico training base.
And it was there he was left pleasantly surprised by Paul’s boxing knowledge, which he thinks will be enough to take the 5-0 prizefighter all the way.
Sylvie told SunSport: “He’s honestly going pretty fast and he’s a very fast learner.

“Just talking to him, honestly I didn’t think he’d be that smart in boxing, just listening to the things he says, he’s picking things up pretty quick.
“He’s advancing in the sport and I feel like he can take it all the way and end up being world champion.”
Sylve, who has mutual famous friends to Paul’s, admits as first he was unsure about the social media sensation’s legitimacy in the sport.
But after Paul knocked out a pair of former MMA champions in Ben Askren, 38, and Tyron Woodley, 40, the teen talent was convinced.

Sylve said: “I just thought it was pretty much entertainment, something fun coming to the boxing fight, like in basketball they do celebrity games.
“I thought it was something like that but when it started to get serious and him actually having a professional record, I thought it was weird at first.
“But then I started to think everybody else’s career is kind of like that, a lot of fighters fight people in their first five fights who shouldn’t even be in the ring.
“So I didn’t think it was too bad and it started bringing a lot of eyes to boxing, so it was a plus for the whole boxing scene.”

🥊 Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva: Ring walk time, live stream, TV channel, undercard for toughest test
Paul returns over the weekend in Arizona against Anderson Silva, 47, the biggest test of his career.
And it has also afforded Sylve a prime time spot as chief support in a bout against Braulio Rodriguez, 34.
Sylve was due to have his coming out party in August at New York’s Iconic Madison Square Garden.
But Paul had to axe his own pay-per-view bill after Tommy Fury, 23, and Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, pulled out due to a US visa issue and weight row respectively.
So Sylve has had to share the agonising wait alongside Paul and remain calm under the chaos.

Silva’s showdown with The Problem Child has been labelled as a last-ditch attempt for a final big payday, a notion the future UFC Hall of Famer has rubbished.
He said: “I don’t need the money anymore. People think money is important, but it’s not.
“Of course, I will make money from this fight because it’s my job.
“Don’t do something just for the money. Work because you have a passion.

The Brazilian has amassed a 3-1 record, including a win over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
But despite his decades of combat experience, Silva believes there’s more room for improvement when it comes to his boxing.

“My experience is something that Jake doesn’t have. I love this challenge. That’s the secret to me. I go into this fight to prove my respect to the boxing community.”

The pair meet over eight-rounds at 187lb in Arizona at the weekend.
It is the night Paul promises to legitimise himself in the sweet science but just another day in the office for UFC great Silva.
And ahead of the fascinating fight for the ages, SunSport runs down what the experts predict.
    Oscar De La Hoya
The six-weight boxing champion is a big fan of Paul and the YouTuber’s impact on the sport, so his prediction comes as no surprise.
De La Hoya, 49, told Inside Fighting: “That’s a good fight. I’m gonna go with Jake Paul.
“Yeah, I’m gonna go with Jake Paul, just because he seems like he’s getting into the rhythm of things. He doesn’t have too many fights.
“He loves boxing, is a hard worker, and has a lot of power. If he connects with Silva, he’s going to knock him out. If he touches Silva, he’s going down.”

    Daniel Cormier
The former two-weight UFC champion was once called out by Paul and is now backing his fellow MMA icon.
Cormier, 43, told ESPN: “I think Anderson Silva wins the fight.
“If Jake Paul wins – honestly, he’s a kid that’s in his prime, and I say that knowing that now Jake Paul can fight. The guy can fight.
“I’m done being of the people that say this kid’s a joke. This kid is not a joke. The kid can fight, and there are many reasons as to why he can fight.
“But we talk about Anderson, all that he has done – Anderson beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is bigger and better than anything (Paul’s) ever done.”

    Tyron Woodley
The ex-UFC champ was twice beaten by Paul, on points and by KO, so knows all about the social media sensation’s power.
Woodley, 40, told MMA Fighting: “I know a lot of people want to see Jake Paul get beat up and see him taught a lesson like a bully on a playground.
“But he really is a kid, not very much responsibility, no financial limitations, energy, he makes everything a bucket list, a challenge.
“That’s why he likes to bet so much. If he loses, it’s not that big of a deal but he secretly wants to win real bad. Cause he’s been a fan of the combat sports world for so long.
“I’ve got so many videos of the baby face Jake Paul wanting to take pictures with me and Logan and being fans of me back in the day, he’s just tricking everyone.
“He’s training his ass off. He’s got KO power and he’s learned to throw that particular punch that he’s got timing on.”

    KSI
The British YouTuber and crossover boxing star has long rivalled Paul, following his 2019 win over his brother Logan.
And the pair are lined up for a 2023 grudge match at Wembley Stadium next year.
But for now, they continue to take aim at each other, which was no different when KSI, 29, offered a blunt prediction for Paul’s next fight.
He told Boxing Social: “Honestly, I think he might have bitten off more than he can chew.”

    Tom Aspinall
The UFC heavyweight has not been afraid to hail Paul in the past and praised him for some wise matchmaking.
Aspinall, 29, told Midnite: “I think he’s got Anderson Silva at a good time. Silva has obviously got a lot of miles on the clock. But he also has a lot of skills so it’s an interesting fight.
“Silva has got to be pushing 50 now but the skills are still there, the body is still there.
“I think Jake Paul takes it, I think Paul should be able to outwork him being the younger and fresher man but you never know.
“Silva’s getting a bit older and Paul’s young and hungry – and Jake Paul’s looked good. I don’t care what anybody says, it looks like he has got skills. So I think he wins that one.”

    Chuck Liddell
The Iceman’s peak in the UFC cage came to an end just as Silva came to prominence and the American expects him to teach Paul a lesson.
Liddell, 52, said to Fight Hub: “I think he wins, I think he knocks him out.
“But hey, man, I’m interested to see it. Good luck to Jake. The kid is fighting.
“He goes out there and really fights. You have to respect that.”
    Prediction… Silva

    Eddie Hearn
The promoter has had a love-hate relationship with Paul but still backed him to beat an ageing Silva.
Hearn told The MMA Hour: “I don’t know enough about Anderson Silva. Anderson is [47], but he can box a bit by the sound of things.
“While boxing is still a very impressive part of his repertoire, he’s still not a boxer, and he’s 47 years of age.
“But he’s a tough guy, he has a huge profile, he can box, and I think he’ll be competitive.
“I don’t think he beats Jake, because I think Jake is young, and I think he can punch a bit – and I’m intrigued to watch, and I like what Jake’s doing.”
    Prediction… Paul

    Chael Sonnen
The former UFC title challenger had a fierce rivalry with Silva, losing twice and now has an allegiance with Paul.
Sonnen, 45, told Fight Hub TV: “I do have strong feelings for this fight, I don’t think Jake Paul is going to knock him out.
“If there was a magic wand, you knew this fight was going to happen and that Jake wasn’t going to knock him out, it would change your opinion.
“Jake counts on that, he’s a powerful guy and he connects on people.
“I don’t think it’s going to happen with Anderson and if he does connect, I don’t think he’s going to put ‘The Spider’ down.”

Meet Jake Paul’s prodigy Ashton Sylve, boxing’s ‘next star’ who turned pro while at SCHOOL and now has 100 per cent KOs

BOXING prospect Ashton Sylve juggled the classroom with the school of hard knocks after turning professional at just 16. But after eight wins, all knockouts and two more years under his belt, the young American is emerging as one of the hottest prospects in the game.

So much so that he had Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather battling it out to secure his signature after turning 18.
But it was Paul who got one over on unbeaten boxing icon Mayweather, signing Sylve to his Most Valuable Promotions.
And his journey continues over the weekend with a prime time co-headliner spot against Braulio Rodriguez, 34, of the Dominican Republic on the YouTuber-turned boxer’s fight with Anderson Silva.
Paul told SunSport: ”I’m excited, this is the first time he’s going to be on a big stage.

“The sky is the limit as he’s going to be the next star out of Most Valuable Promotions.”
If Paul is still learning on the job as a 5-0 novice, Sylve could feel like a young veteran, having had his first amateur bout at the age of eight.
He would go on to have over 120 contests in the unpaid ranks, becoming a 10x national champ, with two international honours to his name.
An Olympic dream could have also been realised – had the wait for the next Games not been so long.

Sylve said: “After all the experience I had fighting overseas at different tournaments, I started to feel that I was soon-to-be ready to turn pro.
“I would’ve stayed in the amateurs if the Olympics were sooner, but I think it was 2024 by the time I could qualify for the Olympics.
“But looking at my future, it was just too long to be waiting around in the amateurs, so that’s why I decided to turn pro at 16.”
Like many before him, Sylve took his talents to Mexico after turning pro at 16.
But it was not facing fully grown men which gave him his biggest fight, rather finding a happy medium between boxing and academics.
Sylve said: I was just still in school. That was the only thing I had to balance.
“I had to balance and figure out my schedule, the training time, losing weight was always a part of it and having another energy to also do my school work.
“That was the big difference but other than that, I actually prefer the professional side to the amateurs.”
Asthon Sylve had his first amateur bout at eight
He went on to have over 120 amateur bouts
After Sylve’s sixth fight, Paul and several others began to take notice of the promising super-featherweight.
He was due to feature on Paul’s undercard the night the social media sensation first beat ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 40.
But when the event was moved to Ohio, Sylve, 17 at the time, was ruled out due to the commission’s age restrictions.
He said: “I had multiple offers, pretty much everyone was coming after me.
“We were still seeing what the best option was and who would be the best fit for me.
“I was supposed to fight on Jake’s undercard I think in Texas but then they switched the venue to Ohio, so with the regulation and my age it just didn’t pan out.
“So I wasn’t able to fight on his card but I think ever since then he had his eyes on me, even before that.”

The American wants to win titles in three weights
Sylve’s dad would later receive a call from Paul’s manager and adviser Nakisa Bidarian, and soon after a deal was struck between the two.
Paul said: “I had actually seen Ashton years ago, sparring. This kid H20 kept popping up on YouTube, even in my recommended he would pop up.
“So I’ve always known who he was, seen him hanging around mutual friends and once we started MVP, we want to help women and push them forward, which is why we signed Amanda Serrano.
“And then we wanted to help young prospects and he was the No1 young prospect that everyone was trying to sign.
“Mayweather tried to sign him, and he had already a built in social media following at 18-years-old, perfect record, all KOs.
“It just made sense to sign him.”

Sylve had his eyes on Wilfred Benitez’s record of youngest world champ of all time, which the Puerto Rican achieved at 17, but had moved on to other goals.
He said: “When I was 16 or 17, I wanted to be the youngest champion ever. But that didn’t pan out. By the time I looked it up, my birthday was pretty much past it.
“But I’ve always dreamed of being a three-weight world champion, so hopefully in the next year or two. I’ll be 19 or 20.”
For all of Sylve’s aspirations and plaudits from the loudest of mouths, none of it will mean anything unless he lets his fighting do the talking.
And he plans to continue doing so in the biggest fight of his career in Arizona, the kind of occasion he always envisioned.

Paul has already told SunSport he expects to pocket a career-high payday for the pay-per-view bout, only increasing his already staggering net worth.
According to Forbes, last year the American took home earnings of £36MILLION, with £30m of that from the ring.
Paul takes a percentage in the PPV sales of his fights, which average around £10m each.
His other sources of income included endorsements and social media revenue.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Paul is valued at £52m ($60m) compared to Silva’s £16m ($18m).
The Brazilian was one of the UFC’s highest-paid PPV stars during his iconic career, before departing in 2020.
His biggest guaranteed purse was $800,000 the night he faced Nick Diaz, although he would have earned more through box office bonuses.
