‘I lose faith in my generation’ – Jake Paul responds to fight fix claims after beating UFC legend Anderson Silva

JAKE PAUL has responded to allegations of “rigging” his fight with Anderson Silva. The YouTuber-turned boxer beat UFC legend Silva on points over eight rounds last weekend in Arizona.
Jake Paul responded to allegations of ‘rigging’ his fight with Anderson Silva
But keyboard warriors took to social media to suggest Paul fixed the fight while others discredited the result due to Silva’s age.
Paul, 25, said on The MMA Hour: “I think smart people with intelligence are giving me props and respect.
“Like the WBC President [Mauricio Sulaimán] saying that anyone who says Jake is not a real boxer is just bitter and is a hater.
“People like Teddy Atlas showing me mad respect, a lot of fighters showing me mad respect, a lot of MMA guys texting me saying, ‘You look really sharp, that was the best you’ve fought.’

“Ryan Garcia showing me respect. So the smart people who I care about are showing that love.
“There are the people who will always be there in my career who are discrediting it.
“Now, they’re saying it was rigged. It went from, ‘Jake’s going to get knocked out by Anderson,’ to, ‘Oh, that was rigged.’”
Paul was forced to deny baseless allegations of match fixing after his wins over former UFC pair Ben Askren, 38, and Tyron Woodley, 40.

And after beating Silva, 47, in the most legitimate victory of his 6-0 career, the American found himself in the exact same spot.
Paul said: “I lose faith in my generation and my peers, and us as a society and a world when I see that type of stuff and that type of stupidity.
“It just sucks. It sucks because I worked so hard for this.
“I dedicate everything, sacrifice everything, every single day, bust my balls, have a 15-person team working around the clock to help me become the best boxer possible, and when I do something like beating Anderson Silva, they try to take it away from me.
“But I know deep down, and I guess that’s all that really matters.”

Tommy Fury says Jake Paul grudge match will sell out 70,000 stadium in UK and reveals why YouTube MUST fight him

TOMMY FURY believes a grudge match with Jake Paul gives the YouTuber the chance to legitimise himself and sell out a 70,000-seat stadium. The celebrity boxing rivals have TWICE signed to fight but both times Fury was forced to pull out.

A rib injury in December was soon followed by a US visa issue in August, leaving their business unsettled.
And Fury confirmed his travel ban in America still stands, meaning Paul would have to come abroad for the bout.
But his British rival reckons they have the joint pulling power to pack out a stadium in the UK.
Fury said on The MMA Hour: “I don’t believe that there’s anybody in this country that wouldn’t come to this fight.

“I think over here that would break all records because Jake is very popular over here.
“You know, my popularity lies here in the UK. So yeah, I think definitely we could definitely draw 70,000 for that.”
Paul, 25, improved to 6-0 over the weekend by beating UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, on points over eight rounds.
It was the social media star-turned prizefighter’s biggest win to date and against his first opponent with prior pro boxing experience.

Fury, 23, admitted Paul is a better boxer than YouTube nemesis KSI, 29, but said both have to fight him in order to gain any sort of recognition.
He said: “If Jake Paul and KSI didn’t have to fight me, they wouldn’t. They have to fight me to prove that they are legitimate boxers.
“They have to. There is nobody else with my following and my exposure with eight fights in, there’s nobody.
“If they wanna be regarded as boxers, they have to go through me.
“This fight between me and Jake does not need selling and I will definitely, definitely take care of business next year.
“Whether that’s in America or the UK.”

Paul confirmed he is willing to reschedule with Fury for a third time, but only if they are willing to front the money for it.
He said: “There’s definitely interest. I think if his team are taking the financial risk and putting the event on, then I’m cool with that.
“I just don’t want to take the risk anymore because I think he’s going to back out, again, most likely.
“But it’s an easy fight for me, like way easier than Anderson. The kid’s a novice, he’s never fought anyone good.
“He’s never even fought an eight-round fight, so he just doesn’t have the experience like I do, which is crazy to say because he’s been doing it his whole life.

“But people call him a “professional boxer” and they respect him as a professional boxer, so yeah, I’d love to strip that title from him.
“I wouldn’t even have to actually train for that fight. I would still train, because I’m a professional, but I wouldn’t have to train to fight him.”

Conor McGregor lands first blow in battle against knotweed after planning bosses accept scheme to KO pesky weed

CONOR McGregor has landed the first blow in his battle against knotweed — after planning bosses accepted his scheme to KO the dreaded weed.Last month, we revealed how Dublin City Council had hammered the UFC star with additional planning requirements for his luxury property development after the dreaded invasive species was found growing on his land.

Mac plans to construct hundreds of build-to-rent apartments after splashing out €19million on the plot along Davitt Road in Drimnagh.
But the 34-year-old’s project was slowed as developers wrestled with preparing a management plan for the pesky plant, which can grow through tarmac but is not harmful to humans.
It is one of the most damaging invasive species, is extremely difficult to control and can undermine the structural integrity of roads and buildings.
In August, officials in DCC wrote to the developers, Corcom, explaining that before any work takes place they would have to agree “a comprehensive Invasive Species Management Plan” with the planning authority.
And the plans would have to “include detailed measures for the elimination of Japanese knotweed.”
Corcom subsequently lodged a detailed 18-page document on how they will destroy the vicious vine.
In correspondence seen by The Irish Sun, the Planning Authority has since informed the developer the details submitted are “satisfactory”, “in compliance” and “acceptable”.
Council bosses also accepted McGregor’s waste management plan for the site.

It is an offence to allow or cause to disperse Japanese knotweed.
And An Bord Pleanala can reject a development application on the grounds it’s not properly dealt with.
McGregor’s developers told the council how they will undertake a “controlled excavation” of the material within the area, followed by removal to “a licensed landfill”.
It said all excavated material will be disposed of at a specialist facility.
The wagons used to cart off the plant will be cleaned from “a bio security perspective” before leaving the landfill to ensure the wicked weed doesn’t spread.
And after it is removed, developers will keep tabs on the site for four years to ensure it doesn’t return.
    ‘SHOWPLACE’
‘The Notorious’ bought the former Heidelberg-Miller building and SCR Garage sites along the Grand Canal for about €15million.
Planning permission for 188 build-to-rent flats and two commercial units had already been secured.
The fighter also purchased an adjacent site that formerly housed a paint shop for several million euro — where he plans building a further 100-plus apartments.
He is hoping to develop part of this second site as social and affordable housing — but roughly 250 abodes will be rental only.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor Maire Devine has blasted the brawler’s venture, saying build-to-rent pads are solely “profit-driven” and won’t help solve the housing crisis.
But Dubliner McGregor hit back at the criticism and said the property development would be “a showplace when it is finished”.

But victory over the 47-year-old UFC great has done little to impress Fury, the father of Paul’s rival Tommy.
He said on Instagram Live: “This man [Tommy] is fighting here, at least he’s a proper fighter.
“He trains as a boxer. All he’s fighting, he’s had seven pro fights against proper opposition.
“Not some hand-picked geriatric that needs a Zimmer frame [walker] to get in the ring.”

Paul, 25, dropped Silva in the final round of their Arizona dust-up on his way to a decision victory.
John, however, can’t understand how Paul opted to fight the near-fifty-year-old Silva.
He said: “If any of my sons was fifty years old and doing that, I’d say ‘Listen, have a day off, give your head a wobble.’
“‘Alls you’re going to do is make a fool of yourself and entertainment for other people.

“You’re making the other man that’s useless look good.’”
Paul and Tommy have twice been scheduled to throw down with one another but have yet to share the ring.
Injury and illness to Fury scuppered their first scheduled meeting last December, while visa issues laid waste to their second.
And John has no doubt in his mind his youngest son would teach The Problem Child a lesson.
He said: “Jake Paul can’t fight. [Tommy] will knock Jake Paul out with one punch.
“And I’ll say it now on camera: Jake Paul will get knocked out with the first right hand that he throws, and I’ll put money on it.”
Paul expected critics to be out in force after his latest victory, saying: “They’re gonna find something to say.
“‘Fight a real boxer!’ B***h, I tried. Hey, if I was walking on water, people would say I can’t swim.

ANTHONY JOSHUA is adamant his long-awaited Battle of Britain with Tyson Fury “will happen” before the pair both retire. The duo were seemingly on course for a shock December dust-up when WBC king Fury threw AJ a world title lifeline weeks after his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

A deal for the biggest bout in the history of British boxing, however, couldn’t be reached, prompting Fury to pivot to a trilogy fight with Derek Chisora.
But AJ has no doubt in his mind he’ll share the ring with the Gypsy King before it’s all said and done.
The former two-time unified heavyweight champion said: “It will happen, it will happen. [We’re the] same generation come on.”
Fury set Joshua a number of public deadlines to get his side of the deal done before pulling the plug on what would’ve been one of the most lucrative bouts in the history of the sport.

But Joshua was more than happy to let his rival do all the talking while his team tried to finalise the fight.
He told DAZN: “My dance partner, the last geezer I was supposed to fight, he’s a good dance partner.
“He handles the social media side. I think we’d do good business behind the scenes.”
Fury’s social media theatrics may have changed the public’s perception of him, but they have done little to dent Joshua’s respect for him.

AJ said: “Even aside from that, that’s like the entertainment side.
“Just as two competitors, right? Two fighters. He’s definitely someone that’s a fighting man.
“And what people fail to realise, they say the social media stuff is annoying.
“But culturally speaking, from Tyson Fury’s culture, the gypsy culture, it’s like on the phone.
“And if you watch the documentaries on Netflix and stuff, you kind of see it’s embedded in their culture.

“It’s what he’s always seen around him. What we see is like, ‘Why is he on social media?’
“Where I grew up, I’ve been around that community as well. So I know that’s just how they call out fights.
“It’s nothing personal. But from my culture, we don’t really deal with things like that.
“We’re a bit more low-key and handle our business. That’s where there is a bit of a culture clash.
“But two fighting guys, asides from tens of thousands of people coming out to an amazing stadium, he’s a fighting man and he wants to fight.

The WWE superstar claimed he didn’t want to give the kickboxer a platform but now seems to have changed his mind.
The 27-year-old claims he would love to “turn his face inside out” and would even be open to facing Tate inside the Octagon.
However, a potential fight might take a while as the YouTuber is scheduled to challenge Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel this Saturday.
Paul said during an interview with UFC star Sean O’Malley: “I have said what I said that I didn’t feel like platforming him.

“But then this motherf****r starts talking a lot of s**t. And maybe I would take the opportunity to platform him for one night and turn his face inside out.

“So maybe I will take it back and I will fight Andrew Tate. I take back what I said and I am man enough to say I made a mistake when I said I wouldn’t platform him I would do it.

“I was pushing for it this would be fantastic. I thought maybe we could forego those warm-up fights and do it. But then the agent replied and said ‘if you want to fight him Whatsapp him directly’.
