Anthony Taylor says it’s ‘disturbing’ that sparring Jake Paul for two months paid better than his entire MMA career

ANTHONY TAYLOR said it is ‘disturbing’ that he got paid more for two months of sparring with Jake Paul than his did in his MMA career. The American is 7-5 in MMA and fought five times for Bellator, the UFC’s closest rivals.

But he has made a name for himself more recently for acting as the sparring partner for YouTuber-turned boxer Paul.
He helped the social media star earlier in the year before beating retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37, in April.
And Taylor, 32, returned to Paul’s camp to help his friend prepare to fight ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on August 29.
He revealed the money earned for the rounds of sparring was surprisingly more than anything he got in MMA.
Taylor told Betway Insider: “I had the opportunity to fight in Cage Warriors but I couldn’t pass up the money Jake was offering.
“I’m getting paid more money as Jake’s training partner in two months than I made in my whole entire MMA career in six years.

“I swear to god, I made more money with Jake in two months than my whole MMA career.
“That’s disturbing when you think about it, because I fought for Bellator. I’ve fought two top five contenders in Bellator and I had a good run.
“It’s time to take it up a notch and fight for the UFC.”
Paul, 24, has further afforded Tayor opportunities with a fight on his undercard.
The Bellator lightweight will face Britain’s Tommy Fury, 22, who is looking to earn a fight against Paul himself.
“I swear to god, I made more money with Jake in two months than my whole MMA career. That’s disturbing when you think about itAnthony Taylor
Taylor said: “I’m about to bloody him up. He’s going to be in a dog fight. He’s underestimating me, he’s looking over me.
“He thinks he is flying into Cleveland to win and then face off with Jake, but he ain’t even going to see Jake that night.
“When you compare Tommy’s fights to Jake’s fights, Tommy’s fights are embarrassing.
“Tommy fought a guy with 10 wins and 126 losses – Jake would never fight a guy like that.
“He’s not that skilled. I want what he has; the money, the status, everything.”

Logan Paul next fight: Five bouts after Floyd Mayweather including Chris Hemsworth, his brother Jake & shock UFC switch

LOGAN PAUL is thinking about his next fight having shared the ring with all-time great Floyd Mayweather. The YouTuber’s last bout was the Miami exhibition with Mayweather as he survived all eight rounds to take it the distance.
Logan Paul is already thinking about his next fightCredit: AFP
Having faced, and technically avoided defeat, against the one of the best and most lucrative boxers of all time, the question begs what next?
Just days removed from his showcase bout with Mayweather, Paul wrote on Instagram ‘no seriously who’s next’.
And here SunSport runs down the likely options for the social media sensation.
    Jake Paul
Paul has been followed into the ring by his little brother Jake, who has a better record winning all three of his fights by knockout.
The polarising pair appear to have no bounds when it comes to entertainment, leaving them both open to facing each other.
It would be a bizarre, unprecedented and undeniable financial success, all key elements of what makes the internet sensations tick.
But they have admitted their parents are against the idea, and even their close relationship may rule it out.
For now, Jake, 24, fights ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on August 29 and will no doubt have the support of Logan, 26, when he does.

    Dillon Danis
Danis is a 2-0 Bellator welterweight and a jujitsu expert, but he is most commonly known for being Conor McGregor’s training partner.
The American, 27, has also rivalled the Paul brothers online, mostly with Jake before trading words with Logan.
Jake has admitted he is moving on from the idea of boxing Danis leaving the door open for Logan.
And with Logan fancying a move to MMA, he could even take Danis on in the cage, with Bellator open to the idea.
But Danis is also eyeing a boxing debut, meaning he could meet Logan in the ring as well.

    Chris Hemsworth
Thor star Hemsworth is renowned for his impeccable physique and uses boxing in his training regiment.
And after footage of the actor hitting the pads surfaced in January, Paul called him out.
He tweeted: “I’ll fight him after mayweather.”
Aussie Hemsworth, 37, never responded to the challenge, but the offer could still be open.
Chris Hemsworth was once called out by Logan Paul

    Antonio Brown
Paul was in line to fight the NFL wide receiver in early 2020, with the pair even facing off in a nightclub on Super Bowl weekend.
Sports streaming service DAZN were driving talks, with Paul releasing a diss track and Brown starting training in the gym.
But the fight soon fell apart with Brown returning to the NFL by signing with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A year prior, he was released by New England Patriots as an investigation was launched into allegations of sexual assault made against him.

    KSI
Paul’s boxing career started with a 2018 white collar bout against online rival KSI, which ended in a draw in Manchester.
They turned professional a year later, with little experience, and KSI emerged victorious by scrappy split-decision.
A two point deduction for hitting and holding cost Paul the result on the cards, and still left some dispute around the fight.
KSI, 27, has remained uninterested in a trilogy and instead turned his attention to Jake.

    Badou Jack
Jack is a two-weight champion and recorded a win on the undercard of Paul’s exhibition with Mayweather.
Putting the Swedish-born in against the celebrity boxer would be a waste of everyone’s time and reckless.
But it did not stop heavyweight legend Mike Tyson from urging Paul to fight Jack, 37, despite the skill disparity.
Tyson said: “I’m trying to get Logan Paul to fight Badou Jack. I wanna see what he says about that.”
Jack, promoted by Mayweather, saw the funny side of it as he tweeted: “LOL @MikeTyson wants me to fight Logan Paul.”

    UFC switch
Paul was an accomplished high school wrestler and has made it no secret his grappling experience makes a move into the cage more suitable.
He said after fighting Mayweather: “I’d do MMA, for sure, because I am a good grappler. You know, I’m a wrestler at heart.”
UFC president Dana White always maintained he would NEVER do business with either Paul brother.
But for the first time, White appeared to at least be considering whether or not to give Logan a shot in the octagon.
He told TMZ: “Here’s the thing, not to say that I haven’t taken a guy in that’s been 0-0 into the UFC and done those types of fights before. I don’t know.”

Tommy Fury’s opponent says Love Island star isn’t ‘cut from same cloth’ as brother Tyson and is ‘a disrespect’ to boxing

TOMMY FURY was accused of not being ‘cut from the same cloth’ as his brother Tyson. And Anthony Taylor, who faces Fury on August 29 on Jake Paul’s undercard, blasted that the 2019 Love Island star is ‘a disrespect’ to boxing.

Anthony Taylor fights Tommy Fury on Jake Paul’s undercard
Taylor, 32, told Sky Sports: “You don’t expect Michael Jordan’s kids to be the next Jordan. Don’t expect Tommy to be the next Tyson.
“They’re just not cut from the same cloth. He is a disrespect to the sport. He’s not a boxer. A boxer doesn’t fight guys with 10 wins and 126 losses!
“You don’t see Ryan Garcia fighting guys on his debut with zero wins and 26 losses.
“Tell me I can’t beat those fighters that Tommy has beaten already?
“Without Tyson bringing up his brother’s name, who was Tommy? We never even knew that Tyson had a brother who was a boxer.”
Incidentally, lightweight sensation Garcia, the fighter Taylor references, boxed an opponent with ZERO fights on his debut.

And in his two bouts following, the now-21-year-old’s opponents had a combined record of five losses, one draw and no wins.
Fury, 22, is 6-0 and has fought mostly journeyman opposition, a common occurrence for boxer at the start of his career.
And he will face Taylor, 32, on the same bill as Paul, with the view of fighting the YouTuber afterwards.
Paul headlines the night against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, but has feuded with Fury in recent months.
And ahead of the pay-per-view, he took aim at his online rival once more.
Paul, 24, said: “He boxes because he was told to do so by his dad. He doesn’t have that real heart, that real fighter inside of him.
“He is doing this because it’s something his brother did. It’s something his dad did and he sees it as a way to make some money.
“If we ever get into the ring, I’m going to expose him.”

Among the interested observers was UFC superstar McGregor, who was in talks to box the Filipino before losing his rematch with Dustin Poirier in January.
And The Notorious has claimed he’s due a pretty penny from the fight, tweeting: “I’m owed commission off that manny fight and I want it.”
A showdown between McGregor and Pacquiao is unlikely to come to fruition as the pride of the Philippines is contemplating hanging up his gloves.
In the post-fight press conference, he said: “In the future, you may not see Manny Pacquiao fight again in the ring.
“I don’t know. But for how many decades, I’m so happy with what I’ve done in boxing.
“I contribute a record in boxing also and to make boxing the top. And especially bring honour to my country and the Filipino people.

“Although, I hoped for a different outcome, I wish him the best.

“I’m sorry I could not give you a win, but I did my very best.
“From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! God bless you all! Mabuhay.”
McGregor, meanwhile, is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered in his UFC 264 trilogy fight with Poirier last month.

The Irishman recently revealed his recovery is going better than expected, saying: “Scan went well. Scan went very well.
“To be back on the bike, I’m back on the bike before he said I was going to be able to bear weight.

Jake Paul reveals he has tattoo artist ringside at Tyron Woodley fight to make ex-UFC star honour ‘I love Jake’ bet

JAKE PAUL revealed he will bring a tattoo artist to his fight with Tyron Woodley in a bid to make sure their bet is honoured. Paul faces the ex-UFC champion on Sunday in his fourth and biggest fight to date.

Not only will he put his 3-0 record of straight knockouts on the line, the loser will also have to get their opponent’s name tattooed on them.
The pair made the wager on the spot while promoting their fight at a press conference.
Paul came up with the idea, which will see the loser have ‘I love’ with the winner’s name followed.
And the YouTuber is bringing a tattoo artist with him ringside and will order her to show up at Woodley’s changing room with the ink, should he be beaten.
Paul told True Geordie: “I have a tattoo artist, one of the biggest tattoo artists in the world, Tattoo Baby, is coming to the fight.
“She has her equipment, so after the fight I’m sending her to his dressing room to get it done, I swear.”
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

Despite Paul, 24, maintaining nothing will stand in his way of making sure the bet is fulfilled, Woodley, 39, has other plans.
If he wins, the former UFC welterweight is willing to let Paul off the tattoo, but will demand some compensation.

Woodley said on The MMA Hour: “I’ll let him negotiate. If he doesn’t want to get the tattoo, you have got to pay me a nice bag.
“It was his bet. Either you get the tattoo or you give out some cash. Donate it to my charity.
“Because I want no excuses out of him. Because if he is a man, he shook on it in front of the world. He has to live up to it.”

Tyron Woodley warns Jake Paul will ‘get hurt in a way you’d never imagine’ and YouTuber ‘may not want to do this again’

TYRON WOODLEY has threatened to end Jake Paul’s fledgling boxing career and warned he will ‘get hurt in a way you’d never imagine’.Paul faces the ex-UFC champion on Sunday in his fourth and most challenging fight so far.

But Woodley has predicted it could even be the YouTuber’s last, as he sent out a fierce warning ahead of what will be his boxing debut.
He told MMAFighting: “I’m just glad to be a part of it, but I’m not only here to participate.
“I’m here to f***ing take over. And you’re going to see Jake Paul get hurt in a way you’d never imagine. He may not want to do this again after this.”
Paul, 24, is 3-0 in his career, all by knockout, with wins over online rival ‘AnEsonGib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC fighter Ben Askren, 37.
Woodley, 39, meanwhile formerly held the UFC welterweight title from 2016-2018 with four defences.
But he has lost his last four fights, without a win in three years and left the UFC this year.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

Since signing to face Paul, Woodley, 39, has spent time training under boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, and his coach Gerald Tucker.
He has documented this in a YouTube series called ‘Champ Camp’ – but revealed he has purposely held back footage.
And Woodley said fans will be able to see just how hard he has been preparing for the bout with new video due to be released.

He said: “I’m smart too. He’s not the only smart one.
“When you see [my video blog] ‘Champ Camp’ drop Saturday, when it’s too late after the weigh-ins, you’re going to see what I’ve really been doing.
“What you guys have seeing has been sprinkles, it’s been salt baes.
“You’re going to see Jake Paul get hurt in a way you’d never imagine. He may not want to do this again after this.Tyron Woodley
“When you see the destruction and the f***ing training and the mentality and the coaching and the running every single day, all different terrains, hills, speeds, adjustments, altitudes, it’s going to be too late for him to back out of this fight.
“And that’s why in the beginning I said I wanted a ‘no bitch out’ clause.
“Because I knew if he saw how hard I really punch, and how great my mind really is for this sport — any combat sport — my IQ and just the coaches, [Paul might back out].”
Woodley has maintained he feared Paul would fail to fight him, but now insisted there is no way out.
He explained: “It’s too late. He’s going to be the biggest bitch in the industry of female dogs if he backs out of this fight now.
“So now I can talk for real. Now I can say what we really were doing. Now I can show you guys.
    WOODLEY’S WARNING
“Come Saturday, if you guys are not subscribed to me on YouTube, subscribe. Saturday, I’m breaking the internet.
“I promise you, it’s going to be internet breaking. This entire camp has been a movie.
“If he tried to pull a Covid-19 [and pull out now], I’m coming to his hotel and I’m sticking a Q-tip in his nose and I’m going to do it for seven tests.
“I want to see some x-rays. I want to see some ultrasound. I want the doctor to produce the [positive test] to me personally.
“Because he doesn’t really understand that the force I punch with and the certainty of me landing and me seeing it before it happens.

UFC legend Vitor Belfort says ‘I’d put a beating’ on Jake and Logan Paul on ‘SAME NIGHT’ ahead of Oscar De La Hoya fight

VITOR BELFORT said ‘I’d put a beating’ on brothers Jake and Logan Paul on the ‘SAME NIGHT’ if given the chance. The YouTubers have both forged out unprecedented prizefighting careers, recently becoming two of the most polarising figures in the sport.

Older brother Logan, 26, is officially 0-1, losing to online rival KSI in 2019 after they drew in a white collar bout in 2018.
But he scored a massive moral victory in June, taking boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, the distance in their exhibition bout.
Jake, 24, meanwhile is 3-0, all by KO, having beaten YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
He faces Tyron Woodley, 39, in his fourth and toughest fight to date on August 29.
Woodley has the backing of fellow former UFC champion Belfort, 44, who fancies a crack at Jake and Logan back-to-back.
He told SunSport: “I hope Tyron Woodley does good, but that kid Jake is doing good business, he’s getting good traction, I respect that.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

“I’d fight him and his brother in the same night, I’d put a beating on him and his brother in the same night, there’s no doubt about it.”
Belfort, having not fought in MMA since 2018, is now in the business of spectacle bouts himself.
The American-based Brazilian, 1-0 as a boxer after his 2006 debut, faces six-weight boxing champ Oscar De La Hoya, 48, on September 11.
It will mark De La Hoya’s comeback after 13 years out of the ring, when Manny Pacquiao, 42, battered him into submission.
Belfort hopes to one day merge the rules of boxing and MMA into a unified sport, but for now will settle for a super-fight in the sweet science.
I’d fight him and his brother in the same night, I’d put a beating on him and his brother in the same night, there’s no doubt about it.Vitor Belfort on Jake and Logan Paul
He said: “The future of combat sports in the merge between these two amazing combat sports.
“Right now, we are boxing under boxing rules, and I accept it. But in the future, I want to mix boxing with the martial arts aspect.
“But until that gets done, I’m the guy with the fastest hands and most knockouts in UFC and MMA history.
“So fighting the best boxers of all time, Oscar De La Hoya, it’s a legendary fight, a generational fight and it’s going to be epic.
“This is once in a lifetime.”

Mike Tyson backs Jake Paul to beat Tyron Woodley as boxing legend fears ex-UFC champ is looking to ‘get his last payday’

Tyson, one of the most celebrated punchers of all time, has taken a liking to the YouTuber.
He even had him on his undercard in November when Paul knocked out ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
And Tyson, 55, has predicted Woodley, 39, will suffer a similar fate and enjoy a cash out while doing so.
He said on his podcast: “I’m proud of them. Are they gonna fight? He’s fighting an experienced fighter. That’s so cool.
“I don’t know. Paul’s a real good striker, and I think people do him a disservice when they go in there and say, ‘He’s blonde-haired and blue-eyed, he’s a white b***’, and I think that also builds their courage up and causes them to get knocked out.
“Jake’s gonna beat him. Woodley’s not a puncher like that, that’s why he wants to fight this guy, to get his last payday probably.”
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

Paul, 24, knocked out online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ before doing the same against Robinson, 37.
Most recently he beat retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren – a friend and training partner of Woodley’s – in his last fight in April.
Paul has not been taken past round two, and fans even accused his KO against Askren of being ‘rigged’.
It left the American social media sensation pleading with Woodley to go ‘a couple rounds’ in their fight.
“Jake’s gonna beat him. Woodley’s not a puncher like that, that’s why he wants to fight this guy, to get his last payday probably.Mike Tyson on Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley
Paul told SunSport: “I’ve said it, I wouldn’t mind going a couple rounds with this guy.
“To show my inside fighting, to show my work to the body, to show how I set shots up, to show my head movement, defence.
“To show that I can take a hit. I haven’t been able to show any of this, so I really wouldn’t mind it going a couple of rounds because then I think the boxing community will be like, ‘Oh, damn this kid can actually fight’.
“Even in the last fight, I knocked Ben Askren out, people were like, ‘There’s no way this is possible, it’s rigged’.
“Yeah, I want a challenge and I want a tough fight.”
