Tyson Fury will make switch to MMA after boxing career and can go far ‘with the right training’, claims dad John

JOHN FURY has revealed his son Tyson will transition into MMA when he calls time on his boxing career. The Gypsy King is 33-years-old, but according to dad John he still has plenty of fight left in him.

Fury Jr steps into the ring again on October 9 as he meets Deontay Wilder for the third time.
But when asked how Tyson would fare in MMA during an interview with JOE’s Youtube channel, John said: “With the right training, he does very well.”
Tyson’s dad went on to say: “I’ve seen him excel in different sports, wrestling. I’ve got some sort of an idea what Tyson was from that.
“And he likes to get involved, Tyson, and I know what he’s like from being a kid.
“He can use more than his hands, believe it or not. And he’s quick and light on his feet. And his balance is good.
“And I do believe if a top MMA trainer took him on, he could do big things with him. Ask Darren Till, he’s done the work with him.”

Tyson previously teased an appearance inside the octagon in 2019, telling fans during a WWE event that he would be eager for a cage fight.
And dad John said: “I think the rougher it gets for Tyson the better he likes it.
“It brings what we call something different to his job, doesn’t it? It gives him more goals to achieve and more things to look at and address.
“And I think that’s what Tyson wants. And when he does finally retire from boxing, he’ll probably go to that and probably come back to boxing, whatever he does. But he will engage on that, you’ll see.”
When it comes to boxing Fury’s record is an impressive one.

He’s yet to taste defeat as a professional, with 30 wins from 31 bouts – and one draw.
A switch to MMA is not likely to come any time soon though, with fans desperate for an all-English bout of the ages between Tyson and Anthony Joshua.
And John once again chimed in on the matter, revealing that his son was targeting a bout with Joshua before the end of the year.

But it wasn’t until Paul beat Woodley that he truly gained his old rival’s respect.
Askren told Fight Hub TV: “I gained a lot of respect for Jake Paul.
“I know he got a TKO on me but I knew I wasn’t very good at boxing.
“I told all of you that I’m not a very good boxer, I just think I’m better than he is.
“So when he got a knockdown on me, yeah whatever, he didn’t earn my respect.
“Watching him versus Tyron, I have a lot of respect for Tyron’s striking ability and I think Tyron won the fight, but either way it was a highly competitive bout.”

On whether Paul, 24, can really box or not, Askren added: “I think it’s pretty evident.
“And the only way you’re not going to think this is if you really hate the guy – and I don’t hate him.”
Former UFC champion Woodley controversially lost the fight on points, despite rocking Paul.
After his victory, Paul surprisingly announced his retirement from boxing.
But it lasted less than 48 hours, with potential opponents queuing up to be the next to face him.

Tommy Fury appears to be near the top of the list, having beaten Anthony Taylor on the Paul-Woodley undercard.
The 7-0 22-year-old said: “My message to Jake Paul is that he’s a massive p***y and he doesn’t want to fight.
“He’s not a fighting man. So when he grows a pair of b******s, come and see me, but until then, don’t mention my name ever again.”

In the heat of the closely-contested eight-rounder, Paul licked his £450 Grant gloves.
The celebration was quickly picked up on by MMA fans and Penn, with the UFC icon tearing into The Problem Child.
Alongside comparison photos of the two celebrations, The Prodigy tweeted: “Don’t ever copy me again you f****n p***y, look at my gloves, look at the pillows on your hands 20 years of war!
    “#mankinestuff @jakepaul #kindergarten.”
Woodley, 39, was quick to comment, saying: “And he had no blood. I’m still pretty.”

The former two-division champion left ‘Daddy’ and ‘The Muscle Shark’ laying in pools of blood after their UFC 80 and UFC 84 clashes.
And seconds after the contests were over, the Hawaiian licked the pair’s blood off his gloves.
Victory over Woodley saw Paul, 24, stretch his professional boxing record to 4-0.
Missouri mauler Woodley demanded an immediate rematch with the former Disney star, saying: “I feel like if that was the second biggest pay-per-view, then round two is gonna be bigger than that.
“I feel like I won the fight. I feel like Jake’s a great opponent. That’s why I came in great shape.
“The fact that one judge gave me two rounds is laughable.
“No disrespect, but f**k that [Tommy] Fury fight, me and Jake need to run that back”
The younger Paul brother agreed to run it back with The Chosen One, so long as he honoured their pre-fight agreement.

Fury, 33, has gone quiet on the MMA front as of late, but dad John is adamant he will set foot inside the cage before his story is all said and done.
He told Joe: “I think the rougher it gets for Tyson, the better he likes it.
“It brings what they call, I dunno, something different to his job, doesn’t it?
“It gives him more goals to achieve and more things to look at an address.

Fury showed some surprisingly good knees and elbows during his training session with UFC middleweight Till.
And John believes a ‘top’ MMA coach could make the WBC heavyweight champion a force to be reckoned with inside the cage.
He added: “With the right training, [he’d do] very well. Because I’ve seen him excel in different sports like wrestling.
“I’ve got some kind of an idea of what Tyson was from that, and he likes to get involved, Tyson.

“Ask Darren Till, he’s done the work with him. He’s got a good forearm smash and all that kind of thing.
“The knees come up and the head goes in, the elbows. I’ve seen him do it out of boxing, see.
“I’ve seen him outside in fights and this, that and the other. I know what he’s capable of.
“And with the right training, yes, he could do that.”

Fan favourite Fury is currently gearing up for a trilogy fight with former WBC champ Deontay Wilder.
The Wythenshawe warrior will renew his rivalry with The Bronze Bomber on October 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

John Fury claims Conor McGregor COPIED son Tyson but hails ‘clever, articulate and great looking’ UFC star

JOHN FURY believes UFC superstar Conor McGregor copied his son Tyson’s persona during his rise to the top of the mixed martial arts world. The Notorious quickly became a fan favourite among MMA followers across the world in 2014 with his witty trash talk and numerous knockouts inside the octagon.

McGregor reached superstar status in 2015 after KO’ing Jose Aldo in 13 seconds and continued to draw the eyes of the combat sports world with his brashness and fan-thrilling antics.
But John believes they’re nothing new, telling Joe: “Conor McGregor, he watched Tyson’s person and his life and I think he copied Tyson to a degree.
“Because he liked Tyson’s outspokenness and he took it to another level.”
Although John reckons the Irishman stole a page out of his son’s playbook, the veteran coach is a big fan of the UFC’s poster boy.
The 57-year-old added: “He was there at the right time, Conor, but again, very clever, very articulate, clever guy.
“And he’s good at what he does. And he’s great to look at, isn’t he?

“He’s a great watch, love him.
“Great stuff, especially throwing chairs at buses. He’s took the MMA outside.
“The only guy that I know that’s fought a bus. Only in Ireland.”
WBC heavyweight champ Fury has repeatedly teased a move into the MMA world and claimed in December 2019 that Mystic Mac would help prepare him for a fight in the cage.
McGregor, however, denied that claim, saying: “Tyson keeps saying we have spoken and that I have said that I would train him but I have never spoken to Tyson in my life.
Conor McGregor, he watched Tyson’s person and his life and I think he copied Tyson to a degreeJohn Fury on Conor McGregor
“I don’t know why he is saying that but it is not a bad little story so I let it roll. I heard he is coming to my fight at the weekend and he is a good man and a phenomenal boxer.
“I would not say he is only saying he will cross over, he would probably do it in time.
“We might be able to set something up but I would not be holding up the pads for him to hit.
“If he wanted to be trained or educated by me I would need to see him spar a heavyweight, deal with leg kicks and fight in bottom position.
“Then I would assess it and tell him what sort of work he needs to do.

“I found it funny he was saying that we had talked, he is a mad man, I have never spoken to him in my life.”
Gypsy King Fury is currently preparing for his October 9 trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, which will take place in Las Vegas.
McGregor, meanwhile, is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered in his UFC 264 rubber match with Dustin Poirier in July.

But fans have questioned the contest with many claiming the fight was fixed as they argued that Woodley was told to NOT knock Paul out.
And MMA welterweight Diaz has had his say on the pair’s clash, as he tweeted: “These guys both suck.”
His comments got back to Paul, who was asked what he thought of Diaz’s view in his post-fight press conference.
He said: “Another loser talking up. Of course he wants a payday. I’m one of the money fighters now in boxing.
“The guy’s got a chin, but he doesn’t land punches. That fight’s there, no problem.

It wasn’t just Diaz that took aim at Paul, as two-weight world champion Conor McGregor tweeted he is ‘salivating’ at the prospect of facing him.
And Paul, who has declared he has retired from boxing, responded to his tweet in his press conference, as he remarked: “I’m salivating too because I’m just getting warmed up.
“Conor McGregor has a lot more to focus on besides me right now.

“I’m five wins in a row, he’s one in three in the past four years so he needs to get off his vodka or whatever his brand is, sober up and get back in the gym then we can f***ing fight.
“There’s no way he hits harder than Woodley, he doesn’t weigh as much as Woodley, he’s shorter than Woodley.
“I said it before the fight, I think Woodley is a harder fight than him, especially on the weight he is going – Conor is going down, I’m going up.”

Fans claims Jake Paul fight against Tyron Woodley was FIXED with questions over judges’ scorecards and tactics

JAKE PAUL’S fight against Tyron Woodley was FIXED, fans are claiming. Many of those who watched it were angry with the way the YouTuber’s victory played out.

Paul, 24, won his fourth professional boxing fight in the early hours of Monday morning after a split decision.
The judges scored it 77-75, 79-74, 75-77 in Paul’s favour.
After a cagey opening three rounds, the contest burst into life in the fourth as Woodley finally went on the offensive.
But things settled back down again towards the end of the eight rounds and the judges gave it to the online personality.
Paul was rocked and hurt for the first time in his ‘boxing career’ in the fourth round. With a minute to go, Woodley, 39, stepped in and went swinging.
Woodley, the shorter of the two men, crashed a huge right hook into Paul’s head.

The YouTuber was stunned and fell back into the ropes, struggling to keep himself upright.
But thankfully for him, Woodley decided to wave his arm around to get the crowd going – rather than going in for the killer blow.
That allowed Paul to catch his breath and recover to see out the remaining 40 seconds of the round.

And this seemed to be the main reason fans thought Woodley had been told NOT to knock Paul out, with The Mail publishing several angry tweets.
Rae Marie wrote: “No one can tell me this isn’t fixed. Woodley is barely throwing, he could throw and end this at any time.”
Luke added: “Got the feeling Woodley was told not to knock him out. This game is fixed. Fingers crossed for the [Tommy] Fury fight as that’s a different ball game completely.”
Ricardo tweeted: “This is such a frustrating fight. Woodley walking him down then just standing in front of him not throwing a punch. This has gotta be fixed.”
Two judges gave the fight to Jake Paul but Phil Rogers backed Tyron Woodley
And Hentai chipped in with: “Jake got decked so badly in round four that he was never the same.
“Here he is 30 minutes after the punch, still in pain and red all over his face. Woodley proceeded to walk him around the ring like a long walk on the beach.
    “This seemed pretty fixed.”

Paul beat Woodley via split decision in Ohio.
The judges scored it 77-75, 79-74, 75-77 in Paul’s favour.
And focus soon switched to what the 24-year-old would do next.
Online personality Paul initially hinted he would duck the Fury fight and take a break from boxing.
But soon after he was clashing with the Brit backstage and calling for the fight to be staged.
However, it appears Tommy’s dad John is not keen on the idea – judging by footage of the 57-year-old that has surfaced online.

Fury Sr is seen watching Paul talk about his son during his post-fight interview.
And as the camera zooms in, the veteran fighter and coach is seen looking tense and angry.
Reaction to the footage online was mixed.
Muzz tweeted: “Watching the post fight conferences is infuriating. Jake won’t fight Tommy.
“He’ll say it’s because he doesn’t have the clout or he doesn’t rate him as a boxer. Though the real reason is because Tommy IS an actual boxer.”
Joe wrote: “I’d follow an entire channel based on John’s hateful reaction.”
And Crabby said: “Good analysis tonight! Enjoy watching you on the big screen.”
Paul, who moved to 4-0 with the biggest win of his career, was quizzed about fighting Fury next.
He argued Woodley is the tougher opponent but left the door open to an all-celebrity bout with Fury.
Paul said: “Will we see that fight? I would run that s*** easy. That’s an easier fight than Tyron in my opinion.
“But who knows? But sorry, like, people are like, ‘Oh, he’s a real boxer. Fight a real boxer’. OK, maybe, maybe let’s run it. OK, ‘real boxer’.”
Fury was labelled ‘ass’ and ‘not very good’ by UFC legends Daniel Cormier and Dillon Danis after his win.
