And testing himself inside the ring is something the Ultimate Fighter season five winner wants to tick off his bucket list before his story is all said and done.
The Stockton slugger told BT Sport: “I’ve always been wanting to box. I’ve just been stuck in a cage.”
Diaz, 36, was ringside for Tyson Fury’s epic trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder last weekend – which the Gypsy King won via a stunning 11th-round knockout.
The future UFC Hall-of-Famer said of the bout: “I thought it was a good fight, an entertaining fight. I’m glad I came, it was cool to watch.”
The former lightweight title challenger was left impressed by the immense heart Fury showed to get up from two brutal knockdowns.
He said: “It was good. I saw it slowly coming, but it was good because they had a little back-and-forth in the beginning. So it’s cool.”

“I’m a fan of the Fury-Wilder trilogy – all that. It’s cool that I got to participate in being here.”
Diaz hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since his unanimous decision defeat to Brit Leon Edwards in June.
The welterweight standout has one fight left on his contract with the UFC and recently revealed he’s open to boxing YouTubers Jake and Logan Paul.
When asked about potentially facing the Paul brothers after his loss at UFC 263, he said: “Those are all options.

Michael Bisping wanted to join the army and become a boxer like Nigel Benn after prison… but became UFC legend instead

MICHAEL BISPING was staring at prison ceiling walls when he mapped out a plan to follow in Nigel Benn’s footsteps by joining the army as a boxer. British legend Benn served four years in the forces after signing up aged 18 to avoid a life of crime.

He then turned professional after a successful amateur career in the army and became of of the nation’s most celebrated fighters.
So when Bisping found himself in a maximum security prison in his early 20s for a bar fight, he looked to Benn for inspiration.
He told SunSport: “I started thinking, ‘What am I going to do?’
“I kept coming back to fighting, I tired to join the army to become a professional boxer, to go down the same path as Nigel Benn.
“But that never happened. Then, slowly and surely I came up with this crazy plan to be a mixed martial artist.”
Bisping, who competed in kickboxing and jujitsu, was no criminal growing up in Clitheroe, Lancashire, but admitted to getting into one too many scraps on the street.

One such brawl saw him jailed for a month, all while his wife Rebecca was seven months pregnant.
It was at that moment, Bisping ‘hit rock bottom’ and realised his life had to change there and then.
Speaking while on his evening with tour in the UK, he said: “I left school at 16 and I thought I had it all figured out.
“And then you soon come to find out there’s not much call for uneducated, unqualified 16-year-olds.
“I soon figured out life wasn’t going anywhere, money was tight, I was broke all the time and I was sick of that.
“Of course, I was young and I was an idiot, going out and getting into fights and things like that and I’m not proud of that phase in my life.
Michael Bisping competed in kickboxing and jujitsu growing up
The future UFC legend, left, aged 21 with his brother Konrad
“I ended up going to prison, and that was when I hit rock bottom. I was sat in prison and looked around and I was surrounded by the dregs of society.
“I said to myself, ‘Wow, is this it? Is this what my life has come to? I need to make a change’.”
Bisping made his MMA debut in 2004 in Newcastle, at a time when the UFC were considering selling with the sport failing to hit the mainstream.
That was Stateside, meaning the landscape was even worse in Britain.
Bisping, now 42, remembers: “Those days were the Wild West, it’s certainly come on a long way now.
“The scene looked a lot different then, now it’s a lot more professional.
“Sometimes you’d show up at shows in the early days and there would be no doctors, or no ambulance crew or anything like that.
Michael Bisping made his MMA debut in 2004
He admits the early days of MMA in the UK were ‘Wild West’
“The health and safety rules were not exactly adhered too, shall we say. Opponents getting switched out on the day.
“I’ll be honest, that was part of the appeal, as well, it was fun, it was gritty, it was raw.
“And we all felt like we were a part of something that was going to explode and be big.”
Bisping was right, and the sport did explode, thanks in large to the debut of the UFC’s reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter, which first aired in 2005.
A year later, Bisping was invited to compete in third season and eventually won it, booking his way into the UFC, where he stayed until retirement.
The middleweight then capped off a rollercoster career in 2016, knocking out rival Luke Rockhold to finally win the UFC title.

Bisping, who only fought Rockhold on two weeks notice, then made one homecoming defence against Dan Henderson.
He lost the title to UFC legend Georges St-Pierre in 2017 and retired after his next fight, a loss to Kelvin Gastelum.
Bisping remains the only British UFC champion and a huge player in catipulting the sport to new heights in the UK.
It is a far cry from his early underground days, which helped pave the way for the most iconic UFC career in British history.
Bisping said: “Now, to see where it’s gone since I was involved in the early days, it’s amazing to see and to think I was a little part of that, to help it grow, I am proud of that.
“I didn’t even know the sport existed, but I was 100 per cent in, there was no back up plan. I stayed the course and it all panned out.”

Jake Paul convinced Tyron Woodley has found loophole to change ‘I love Jake Paul tattoo’ on finger

JAKE PAUL believes rival Tyron Woodley has found a loophole in his tattoo as the UFC legend demands a rematch. The former welterweight champion, 39, was outpointed against the YouTuber in their boxing bout in August.

Following the dust-up in Ohio, Paul declared that he would fight the MMA icon again as long as Woodley had ‘I love Jake Paul’ inked on his body.
The pair had made a bet prior Paul’s split decision victory in their contest that the loser would get a tattoo of the victor’s name.
And Woodley finally got the tattoo at the end of September, where he instantly called for a rematch after getting it done on the inside of his middle finger.
But Paul, 24, has stated that Woodley may cover up the tattoo, and has explained his theory of why he got inked.
He told talkSPORT: “Let’s see what happens. He was like three or four weeks late on the tattoo, he let the hype die down.
“I think he had a call with his accountants and he saw how much taxes he had to pay and he was like ‘oh, man, I need to get this tattoo right now.’

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
“The weird thing about it, and I’m saying this on record right now, is the tattoo is on his middle finger and it’s done in a way where he can change it to say ‘f*** Jake Paul’.
“He did it so the I looks like an F or could be changed to that, so I think personally he’s going to change it to say ‘f*** Jake Paul’ on his middle finger.
“It goes perfectly with that, so I’m calling it out right now.
“He’s trying to find loopholes and be slick but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is.”
Paul has also been heavily linked with a fight against Tommy Fury, with the unbeaten Brit rejecting a $1million offer from the American.
And Fury’s brother Tyson has urged the pair to ‘get some balls’ and agree to a bout.
Asked for his thoughts on the potential fight between the feuding youngsters, Fury told Behind The Gloves: “Hopefully it happens.

“I hope they can both get some balls and sign the f***ing contract.
“Make this fight happen and give the world the fight they want to see.
“I want to see it. Everybody wants to see this fight.” More

And boxing fan Nurmagomedov was quick to send the Brit a message after seeing him comment on his recent Instagram post with Cristiano Ronaldo.
He wrote: “@GypsyKing101 good luck this weekend.”
Former lightweight champion Nurmagomedov believes the undefeated Fury is the pound-for-pound best boxer on the planet.
When asked who he thinks is the best boxer in the world, Nurmagomedov told ESN News: “Right now? I truly believe Tyson Fury is the best.
“Heavyweight and undefeated and he beat everybody.
“Like very close, like Canelo [Alvarez], [Oleksandr] Usyk, [Terence] Crawford, like all these guys very close.

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
“Like just my opinion like top like Tyson Fury right now.”
The heavyweight division was shaken up late last month when Oleksandr Usyk ended Anthony Joshua’s second reign as unified heavyweight champion.
And Nurmagomedov would love to see the slick southpaw go toe-to-toe with the fleetfooted Fury.
He said: “I really want to see Usyk vs Fury. It’s gonna be a very good fight.
@gypsyking101 good luck this weekendKhabib Nurmagomedov’s Instagram comment to Tyson Fury
“He [Usyk] has very good skill and technique, Tyson Fury too.
“He is not like other heavyweights, more technique, his footwork is very good, his conditioning is very good, I really wanna watch Usyk against Fury.”
Fury, 33, put a beating on Wilder in their Sin City showdown last February, stopping the Bronze Bomber in the seventh round.
And The Gypsy King is planning on turning in an even better performance in their second desert dust-up.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
Speaking after his grand arrival outside of the T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday night, Fury vowed: “I am going to knock him out, quick time.
“I think he’s a real piece of s**t, a real piece of garbage.

Michael Bisping picks five boxing and UFC fights he wants to see including Tyson Fury, Conor McGregor and Jake Paul

MICHAEL BISPING has enjoyed the most famous MMA career in British history – but now watches on as a fan at heart. The British legend, who retired in 2018, is now developing a fledging commentary and punditry career post-fighting.
UFC legend and now commentator Michael BispingCredit: Getty
He is working for the UFC as an analyst and dipping his toes into the boxing world for BT Sports.
So it puts him in a good position to lay out five fights across the two sports that fans must see.
Bisping, talking to SunSport ahead of a tour later this month, picks the best of the bunch.
    Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua
MB: It just shows the problems with boxing, it’s so unpredictable.
Oleksandr Usyk was unbelievable, he was absolutely fantastic and he outboxed Anthony Joshua, who had a terrible game plan and approach.
Hopefully he comes back and beats Usyk in the rematch and then we get Tyson Fury versus Joshua, that’s one that everyone wants to see.
(Although, after that I think Tyson Fury would handle that pretty easily, but, you never know).
Tyson Fury and heavyweight rival Antony Joshua

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
    Jorge Masvidal vs Leon Edwards
I think we are going to get this.
And we remember back in 2019, Masvidal hit him with the ‘Three Piece and a Soda’.
Come on, that one is way overdue.
Leon Edwards and UFC welterweight rival Jorge Masvidal
    Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou
That’s a classic, Jones against anyone in the heavyweight division.
Of course, he got in trouble again recently, and I hope that he figures it out and exercises his demons, because he’s obviously got some stuff going on there.
He needs to stay away from alcohol, he needs to figure that out sadly and get back to the octagon.
UFC legend Jon Jones and heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou
Francis Ngannou vs Stipe Miocic 3
Jones versus Stipe would also be amazing.
But, I’d also like to see Stipe versus Ngannou, the rubber match.
Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou are 1-1 togetherCredit: Reuters
    Conor McGregor vs Tony Ferguson
For Conor McGregor coming back and fighting Dustin Poirier for the third time in a row, when he got knocked out and his leg snapped like a little twig, I don’t think that’s good.
I think he needs a build up fight, a comeback fight. You don’t know if he’s going to be the same.
Here’s one I’d say, for McGregor’s comeback fight, I’d say the perfect person is Tony Ferguson.
Tony Ferguson’s had a little bit of a fall from grace recently and it looks like things might be going down for him.
He’s very hit-able and he’s got a name value, I think Ferguson versus McGregor makes a lot sense.
Michael Bisping wants Tony Ferguson to fight Conor McGregor
Jake Paul vs Anyone who can box
I’d like to see Jake Paul go up against someone in the UFC.
I’d also like him to fight a boxer, if I’m completely honest, but there’s plenty of people in the UFC roster that could whoop Jake Paul with great ease.
I would beat the s*** out of Jake Paul with one eye and I haven’t stepped foot in a ring for a very, very long time.
There’s plenty of others, Masvidal would take care of him pretty easily. Nate Diaz would take care of him, Poirier too.
That’s without getting into the heavier weight classes, they’re all lighter weights. But fair play to Jake Paul, what he’s doing is great.

How a single Instagram comment from KSI kickstarted era of ‘YouTube boxing’ which saw Logan Paul fight Floyd Mayweather

A SINGLE Instagram comment kickstarted the ‘YouTube boxing’ phenomenon – which only four years later saw Logan Paul fight Floyd Mayweather. Logan, and now his brother Jake, have quickly become two of the most polarising and disputed figures in boxing.

But they can gives thanks to British pair KSI and Joe Weller, two former friends who raised eyebrows by organising a white collar fight in 2018.
Their manager Liam Chivers, who has seen the rise from start to present, said: “KSI and Joe Weller created it.
“Lets face it, because with their fans they’ve taken them along in the journey.
“They’ve created this platform for the others to jump on the back of it. We pretty much set the Paul brothers up on a plate with the KSI fights.”
But before KSI and Logan boxed as professionals with world champions on their undercard, it all began with one throwaway comment.
Of course, it was made online, when Weller announced he would spar his pal Theo Baker for a YouTube video.

KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, commented: “Lemme fight the winner haha.”
That turned out to be Weller and the two then sold out the Copper Box Arena with the bout being viewed almost 21MILLION times since.
KSI won and then called out American star Logan afterwards and the two fought to a draw after six rounds in 2018 in Manchester, selling 1million pay-per-views.
But according to Chivers, the game changed soon after.
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn turned them pro, and had the fight on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN internationally.
Chivers said: “The key was definitely taking it off YouTube on to a major platform, in this case DAZN. It took me a year of negotiations to make that happen.
KSI drew with YouTube rival Logan Paul in a 2018 white collar bout
KSI with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn and Logan PaulCredit: Getty Images – Getty
“Because this whole thing revolves around KSI, and his audience and everyone else was just the B-side.
“So him establishing this as an actual phenomenon, it was all about, ‘So what’s next for him?’ Always knocking that mainstream barrier down.”
KSI, 28, won by split-decision but has been unable to fight since due to a fledging music career which has seen him top charts and headline festivals.
But Logan, 26, returned this June in an unthinkable exhibition with Mayweather, 44, which ended without a winner after no knockout was scored.
His little brother Jake, 24, is now 4-0 and recently beat ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, which US powerhouse Showtime aired.
Jake has claimed he is earning up to $10m for his fights, while Mayweather boasted of banking $100m after sharing the ring with Logan.

But the new age of content creators are still continuing to step foot in the ring away from the traditional boxing promoters and networks.
Only in June did Chivers have two of his stable – KSI’s brother ‘Deji’ and ‘AnEsonGib’ – fight on the ‘Social Gloves’ platform.
It saw YouTubers and TikTokers fight off against each other.
And despite a breakthrough within the mainstream boxing market, Chivers admitted social media stars are capable of doing things their own way if needed.
He said: “These guys are their own promoters ultimately, their own YouTube channels, their own social media.
“It doesn’t necessarily matter, as long as there’s a safety aspect covered. Everyone knows what they’re signing up for.
YouTube star Jake Paul is 4-0 as a boxerCredit: Getty
Jake Paul beat ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley
“Even the professionalism of the event, when we did the KSI fight with Joe Weller, it was all very professional, proper rules, proper controls.”
A large section of boxing fans would prefer to see novice fighters with a huge online platform stay as far away from the pro sport as possible.
But others within the business, whether it be boxers or promoters, welcome the fresh fanbase as ultimately it brings in more revenue.
Promoter Kalle Sauerland told SunSport: “I think that it’s great to ultimately have novices, which they are, and that attracts attention to our sport.
“And, if that’s done correctly and done in a professional manner, I have nothing against it unless it starts to become too much WWE.”
Jake Paul at a press conference with AnEsonGibCredit: Getty Images – Getty
AnEsonGib was beaten by Jake Paul
Londoner Gib has done both, twice fighting on KSI’s undercard before turning pro in January 2020 in a defeat to Jake.
But he returned on Social Gloves to beat TikToker Tayler Holder in America, which was overseen by the Florida State Boxing Commission – but NOT a pro bout.
The biggest difference between his fight against Jake and Holder was the gloves sizes and length of rounds.
Meaning, fighting under pro rules or in a exhibition-style bout makes little difference, barring how it is viewed.
Chivers explained: “It doesn’t really matter to us. There’s a lot of networks or broadcasters involved here, the DAZN’s, Showtime with Jake, Triller.
“Gib has his pro license, if it’s a pro event he’d probably prefer that.
AnEsonGib beat American TikToker Tayler HolderCredit: @AnEsonGib

AnEsonGib represented YouTube on the Social Gloves platformCredit: @AnEsonGib

“But it will come down to how big the spectacle can be, how much he’s getting paid, obviously and who his opponent is.”
The Paul brothers show no sign of ending their run in the sport any time soon, while more and more entertainment figures are flirting with the idea of fighting.
KSI still plans to settle the score with Jake, and his friend Gib has showcased improved skills and wants to continue on in the sport.
And while they can all deliver PPV numbers – like the 1m Mayweather and Logan produced – sell tickets and introduce fans into the sport, this trend will stay.
But if the interest suddenly stops, it remains to be seen if era of YouTube boxing can be sustainable or goes down as just a fad.

DOUGLAS LIMA revealed his respect for Jake Paul and refuses to call him ‘s***’ but said fighting the YouTuber would be ‘too easy’. Paul, who is 4-0 as a boxer, has made a habit of feuding MMA fighters lately with his last two wins coming against ex-UFC stars.

The most recent was a points win over ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, which followed from a knockout win against Ben Askren, 37.
His older brother Logan is officially 0-1 as a professional boxer following defeat to online rival KSI, 28, a year after they drew in an exhibition.
But Logan stunned all after he faced boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, in an exhibition in June and survived all eight rounds.
Ex-Bellator champion Lima is in full admiration of the brothers, especially unbeaten Jake, but fancies his chances against both.
He told MMA Fighting: “I think I would defeat either one of them, easy.
“[Jake] is tough. Jake Paul beat Woodley and everything, the guy trains hard, I see him training with professionals.

Lima, 33, returns to the cage on Saturday, in a rematch against Britain’s Michael Venom Page, 34, who he beat in 2019.
The Brazilian, who is coming off two loses, has the welterweight title well within his sights again.
But he refused to rule out a switch to the boxing ring, and reckons the Paul brothers are easy money.
Lima said: “Boxing would be good. Boxing those brothers and make some good money.
“That would be cool. But, [going to] other organisations like the UFC, I never even stopped to think about it.
“Boxing one of these guys would be too easy. I’m focused on Page, of course, but I hope that happens one day.”
