      RAMPAGE JACKSON has called out Tyson Fury with the UFC legend desperate to be the retired boxer’s first MMA opponent.Fury has teased a switch to MMA before and last year trained with UFC veteran Nick Diaz in Miami.

      Diaz, 38, recently revealed throwback pictures of their May 2021 session and it caught the attention of Jackson, 43.
      He commented: “I’d love to be his 1st MMA fight.”
      Unfortunately for Jackson – the former UFC light-heavyweight champion – Fury last year performed a U-turn on a move to MMA.
      But Fury did confirm he would only be interested in a striking-only match with smaller 4oz UFC gloves on.

      Fury, 33, has proposed UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, 35, as his crossover opponent.
      The British boxing legend announced his retirement after beating Dillian Whyte, 34, in April and wants to face Ngannou in an exhibition.
      And Fury’s promoter Frank Warren confirmed he would not stand in the way of talks.
      Warren said: “All I can do is give him the benefit of my advice.
      “All I will ever tell him is what I feel he should do but I will not say ‘you should do this’. I wouldn’t even attempt to go there.
      “He’s a smart individual and whatever he decided to do will be for the benefit of himself and his family and that’s how it should be.”

      Bivol went into the fight as the rank outsider, despite Alvarez stepping up in weight and the Russian proudly unbeaten.
      And he put on a show in front of a stunned crowd in Las Vegas as he out-jabbed and out-moved the Mexican superstar.
      With a rematch on the table – albeit after Canelo’s trilogy showdown with Gennady Golovkin – Bivol is keen to show he is king at 175lbs.
      He told SunSport: “I took this fight to be able to show my skills to a bigger audience and fanbase.
      “I know that in order to get the respect, you have to win the fight you are not supposed to win.
      “I was very motivated by the fact that in this fight I was treated like the challenger and the odds were against me.

      Claressa Shields out to double her money after seven-figure Savannah Marshall fight as she targets $1m PFL reward

      CLARESSA SHIELDS is ready to confirm her boxing super-fight with Savannah Marshall – so she can try and double her money in MMA. The American star last year signed a seven-figure deal with Sky Sports which included a grudge match with Marshall.

      But the undisputed middleweight title bout has faced two delays in July and now looks set for September.
      Shields already has an MMA fight with the Professional Fighters League eyed for November.
      So with a packed schedule, she wants to hurry up and settle the score with Marshall once and for all, after the Brit recovers from her arm injury.
      Shields told SunSport: “Now we’re fighting in September, but fighting in boxing in a big match like this for the undisputed championship, it makes it difficult to train properly for MMA fights.

      Shields in June 2021 made her MMA debut with the PFL, MMA’s only promotion with a seasonal format.
      Fighters battle it out over a regular and playoff season, where four fights earn you a life-changing $1milllion cash prize.
      Shields – already set to make that sum in the ring against Marshall – can give herself the chance to double her earnings in PFL’s 2023 season.
      But she believes the $1m cheque on offer in the PFL cage should be her standard wage in boxing.
