Five clubs Luis Suarez could join including Ajax, Inter Miami and emotional Liverpool return as Barcelona axe star

LUIS SUAREZ has been told he has no future at Barcelona ahead of the club’s major summer overhaul.
The Uruguayan striker, 33, was told to leave the Nou Camp by new boss Ronald Koeman in a blunt, two-minute phonecall.

Suarez was said to have been left “very upset” with his Barcelona career now in tatters.
Reports have even claimed Suarez could have his contract terminated if no club makes a move this month.
The veteran forward will now need to hunt for a new team ahead of the 2020-21 season.
SunSport takes a look at FIVE potential new clubs for Suarez…

    AJAX

SUAREZ played for the Dutch giants between 2007 and 2011, before his big move to Liverpool.
And Ajax are claimed to have already bid £13.5million to bring their former star back to Amsterdam.
Suarez scored 111 goals in 159 games during his time at Ajax.
    LIVERPOOL

Suarez could also play a role back at Liverpool where he enjoyed three-and-a-half incredible seasonsCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
FOLLOWING his three-and-a-half years at Ajax, Suarez was tasked with replacing Fernando Torres at Liverpool in January 2011.

The Uruguayan scored 69 times in just 110 Premier League games – arguably enjoying his peak years at Anfield.
A return to Liverpool now would likely see him form part of a star-studded rotation including Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Jurgen Klopp is desperate to add attacking reinforcements to his Premier League title-winning squad, with the likes of Divock Origi, Rhian Brewster and Takumi Minamino his back-up striking options.
For just £13.5m, or thereabouts, Klopp could get plenty of bang for his buck.
    INTER MIAMI

OWNED by David Beckham, Inter Miami finally made their first marquee signing earlier this summer in landing Blaise Matuidi.
Now Becks and Co could make a move for Suarez to lead their line in the 2021 MLS season.
The only issue with the American side would be wages, with all teams having a set salary cap.
    JUVENTUS

EMBARKING on a new era under Andrea Pirlo, Juve could make a move for Suarez.
Having played with Lionel Messi for the six years, Suarez could now have a crack at life alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Juventus are said to want to sell Paulo Dybala this summer – and Suarez could be the man to replace him.

    PSG

NEYMAR, Kylian Mbappe and Suarez… that’s a front-three to strike fear into any opponent’s hearts.
The French side have been linked with a move for the Barcelona man to replace Edinson Cavani.
The Ligue 1 champions will need a replacement and Suarez could be the perfect fit, having already had experience of playing alongside Neymar at Barcelona.
Incredibly, PSG have also been linked with a move for Lionel Messi – meaning an “MSN” reunion could feasibly be on the cards.
    BEST OF THE REST
AMIDST all of the European giants linked, there are a host of other surprise names in contention to sign Suarez.
Qatari side Al-Arabi have been linked with a move, while a number of other clubs in the Far East, including Chinese Super League sides, are thought to be keen.
Suarez could also join the likes of Andres Iniesta, Lukas Podolski and Fernando Torres in enjoying late-career stints in Japan.

David Beckham celebrates Inter Miami’s first win with great Insta snap in which ‘hair’s a mess and flag wrong way round’

WITH his hair a mess and holding a flag the wrong way around it wasn’t quite the debonair David Beckham we are used to seeing.
But you can forgive him this one time – after his Inter Miami side recorded their first win in FIVE months.

    3

Becks took to Instagram at 3am UK-time after the side won in the MLS – even though he could only watch it on the TV.
He said: “Couldn’t be there for our historic first win in our stadium but I was there in spirit ⚽️ congratulations to @alonsodt our staff , players and of course our fans that also couldn’t be there… Winning feels good right @intermiamicf ⚽️ it’s 3am , hairs a mess , flags the wrong way around but don’t care cause we win.”
Miami won their Florida derby against Orlando City to end their dire run.
A double from Julian Carranza and a third after the break from Rodolfo Pizarro gave them a 3-2 home win.

Daryl Dike replied before half-time, while former Manchester United star Nani hit a late consolation.

Beckham, 45, became involved in Inter Miami in 2014.

He is now co-owner and president.

Miami remain second from bottom in the MLS.
They had previously lost all five league games in their first season in the top flight in America.
Inter played two games before the season was shutdown due to coronavirus so this was their first win in that five-month period.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry shock contender to replace Quique Setien at Barcelona along with Mauricio Pochettino

THIERRY HENRY has emerged as a shock contender to replace Quique Setien at Barcelona, according to reports.
The Frenchman is currently managing Montreal Impact in MLS, having endured a dreadful stint at AS Monaco in the 2018-19 season.

    3

But according to France Football, Henry is a serious contender for the Camp Nou post – given his history with the club as a player.
As a Barcelona player he netted 49 goals in 121 appearances following his switch from Arsenal – playing a part in the club’s early success under Pep Guardiola.
And Henry, 42, isn’t the only former Barca player in the mix for the job.
Former Everton and Southampton gaffer Ronald Koeman is also believed to be under consideration – although Xavi will NOT be approached again just yet, having turned down the post in January.

While no official announcement has yet been put out, the decision to relieve Setien of his duties has privately already been made following last night’s dismal 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Mauricio Pochettino is the early favourite to succeed Setien, despite his strong links with rivals Espanyol – while former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is also in the running.
Whoever comes in will have to get Lionel Messi onside immediately, with the Argentine looking visibly dejected following last night’s embarrassment – having criticised the club’s hapless board on a number of occasions this season.
Gerard Pique has offered to step aside for “fresh blood” if needs be, while director of football Eric Abidal could also be given the chop.

We must bring in new blood to change this dynamic, and if necessary, I would be the first to leave.
    Gerard Pique

The Spanish centre-back said after the game: “No one is untouchable, least of all me.
“Fresh blood is needed. We’ve have hit rock bottom now. We all need to reflect and see what’s best for Barca.
“Coaches and players follow one another, but it has been several years since we have been able to be competitive on a European level.
“We all have to think internally and decide what is best for the club, for Barca. Tonight was unacceptable for Barcelona.

“It’s very hard to take but I hope it will be useful for something, for us to all think about it.
“The club needs changes. And I’m not talking at the level of the coach or the players, but structurally the club needs changes of all kinds.
“We must bring in new blood to change this dynamic, and if necessary, I would be the first to leave.”

FC Dallas’ Reggie Cannon ‘disgusted’ and ‘p***ed off’ after being booed by OWN fans for kneeling before MLS clash

FC DALLAS’ Reggie Cannon was left “disgusted” and “p***ed off” after being booed by his own fans for taking a knee.
Cannon, 22, and his team-mates, as well as opponents Nashville, knelt down during the national anthem ahead of their MLS clash on Wednesday night in a unified anti-racism message.

To take a knee is a protest against the unfair treatment of Black Americans – but has now become a globalised symbol of fighting racism and the Black Lives Matter movement.
It initially gained worldwide attention through the NFL, when players went down on one knee during the national anthem at the beginning of the game.
But many of the 5,000 fans inside Dallas’ Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas responded to the gesture by booing and chanting “USA” instead, enraging Cannon.
His team-mate Ryan Hollingshead turned to him and apologised.

The match, which Nashville won 1-0, was both sides’ first back since the Covid-19 suspension as they where forced to withdraw from the MLS is Back tournament due to positive tests within their squads.
USA international Cannon said: “I think it was disgusting. I think it was absolutely disgusting.
“Millions of other people support this cause and we discussed with every other team and the league what we’re going to do and we’ve got fans booing us in our own stadium. How disgraceful is that?
“You can’t even have support from your own fans in your own stadium. It’s baffling to me.

“As a team we try to give the best possible product on the field and these last six months have been absolute hell for us. Absolute hell.
“We had someone chanting USA, but they don’t understand what kneeling means. They don’t understand why we’re kneeling.
“They can’t see the reason. They think we’re the ignorant ones.
“It’s incredibly frustrating. I’m sorry to have this tone, but you have to call it for what it is.
“It hurts me because I love our fans, I love this club, and I want to see the support that the league has given us, that everyone has given us, from our fans.”
Premier League teams, Formula One drivers, rugby league stars and international cricketers are among those to take a knee since sport got back underway following George Floyd’s murder in May.

Floyd’s death led to more than 70 players from the North American league collaborating to form the Black Players Coalition of MLS.
In a statement, the BPC said it “will address the racial inequalities in our league, stand with all those fighting racism in the world of soccer, and positively impact black communities across the United States and Canada”.
Toronto defender Justin Morrow, the organisation’s executive director, said their goals are to have a voice in all racial matters within the MLS, increased black representation in the MLS Players Association and the highest levels of MLS and to have an impact in black communities.

David Beckham’s Inter Miami snap up first big star as Blaise Matuidi has medical ahead of transfer from Juventus

INTER MIAMI have finally snapped up their first big star signing with Blaise Matuidi set for a medical in Paris.
David Beckham’s MLS side appear to have acquired the midfielder on a free transfer, as Juventus look to lighten their wage bill.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal between the two clubs was reached allowing Matuidi to undergo a medical in the French capital.
Juve have been heavily hit following the coronavirus crisis with Aaron Ramsey and Gonzalo Higuain also facing uncertain futures.
World Cup winner Matuidi,33, was one of three Juventus stars to be hit by the deadly bug during the pandemic.
He tested positive for Covid-19, alongside Daniele Rugani and Paulo Dybala, and thankfully made a full recovery.

Speaking to YouTube channel Bros Stories, he said: “Honestly, it’s tough.
“When I tested positive, I couldn’t even go out shopping. It made me psychotic.”
Matuidi spent a year with former England captain Beckham with PSG in 2013.
And Becks – part owner of Inter Miami – convinced his former team-mate to make the move Stateside.

Beckham last month asked fans to be patient after Inter Miami became the first MLS expansion team to lose their opening five competitive fixtures.
A 1-0 defeat to New York City meant Beck’s new franchise were also the first club eliminated from the MLS is Back tournament.
The ex-England and Man Utd star has several other top talents on his radar.
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is heavily liked with the MLS newbies and so has his old Liverpool colleague Daniel Sturridge.
Sturridge has been a free agent since his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor was terminated.

According to L’Equipe, he has now set his sights on a move to the MLS or France’s Ligue 1.
The former Manchester City forward is believed to follow both of the leagues closely.
Sturridge is open to a permanent move to America as he wants to set up his own record label there when he hangs up his boots.

Luis Suarez is David Beckham and Inter Miami’s top transfer target as Barcelona star’s contract runs out next year

Beckham, 44, has seen what an amazing impact Zlatan Ibrahimovic had on LA Galaxy and hopes Suarez can do the same in Miami.
And he believes Uruguayan striker Suarez would have massive appeal to the city’s large South American population, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
Suarez is understood to be keen to move to the MLS.
Recently he said: “You never know. I have a contract with Barcelona but in the future it’s an attractive league. The USA is a nice option.”

His fellow Uruguay star Nico Lodeiro, who plays for Seattle Sounders, said last year: “Luis wants to come to the MLS.
“He always asks me questions about it. I think it is only a matter of time before he is here.”
Suarez has been at the Nou Camp since 2014 when he joined from Liverpool.
His contract is due to run out in 2021 but he has a clause that states if he plays 60 per cent of their matches next season, it will be automatically extended until 2022.

Suarez recently became Barcelona’s joint-third highest scorer of all-time in dramatic style after a sensational goal in the win over Villarreal.
It was the 33-year-old’s 194th goal for Barcelona in 277 appearances – matching Laszlo Kubala’s total set between 1951 and 1961.
Beckham’s dream of owning his own football team has got off to the worst possible start, with Inter Miami losing their first five games in a row.
But has has not ruled out the possibility of signing superstars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Becks was quizzed over the prospect of making star signings.
And the 44-year-old teased: “Well you know what, we’ve got great opportunities down in Miami.

    3

“‘We’ve been contacted by a lot of different players over possibly coming to join the team.
“As with any owner, you really want the best players and if we have the opportunity to bring in players like Cristiano or Leo, I have such admiration for them as athletes, if we could bring those players in then great.”
However their highest profile signing remains £9.5million Mexican playmaker Rodolfo Pizarro. More

Watch as Real Salt Lake captain Beckerman is sent off AFTER full-time for kicking ball at ref in disastrous performance

REAL SALT LAKE captain Kyle Beckerman was sent off AFTER full-time on Monday night – for kicking the ball at the referee.
After his side’s appalling 5-2 defeat against San Jose Earthquakes, the Real skipper vented his frustration by poking the ball into match official, Drew Fischer.

    2

Kyle Beckerman was sent-off for kicking the ball away after the final whistle

    2

Kyle Beckerman was shown the red card by the ref
Beckerman, 38, immediately looked sheepish and was swiftly shown the red card for the petty swipe.
The 58-cap USA star had an evening to forget during the “MLS is Back” clash.
Beckerman – widely-regarded as the pantomime villain of the MLS – came off the bench after 68 minutes with his side 3-1 down.
Knowing a defeat would see them crash out of the Orlando tournament, Salt Lake scored to cut the deficit to just one goal.

But ten minutes later, they were down to ten men after Marcelo Silva lunged into a reckless, studs up tackle.
San Jose made it 4-2 and were then awarded a penalty after Beckerman threw his hand at the ball in the 96th-minute.
Magnus Eriksson scored to make it 5-2 – but Beckerman’s antics weren’t over, yet.

After Fischer blew the whistle for full time, he petulantly nudged the ball into the back of the ref’s legs.

Knowing he was in trouble, Beckerman sheepishly looked up at Fischer – who flashed the red without any hesitation.
It was an abysmal end to the mini-tournament for Real Salt Lake, while San Jose Earthquakes progress to the quarter-finals at Disney World.
