GEORGE RUSSELL is confident his Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton will improve once problems on his car are fixed.Hamilton, 37, has battled issues in his W13 throughout the season and was in visible pain when he got out the vehicle at the end of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s car bounced along the straights in Baku.
Fellow Brit Russell told Sky Sports F1 that Hamilton will be a “whole different beast” when the problems are sorted.
He was speaking after finishing third, with Hamilton fourth.
The 24-year-old is now fourth in the F1 standings after eight races, with Hamilton in sixth.
Russell added: “If you’d told me that before the season started, I would’ve been very pleased and obviously would’ve taken it.

Hamilton, 37, has been troubled physically by the bouncing and porpoising of Mercedes’ much-maligned W13 car.
As he clambered out of his motor at the end of the race, the seven-time champion could be seen moving gingerly.
Team principal Toto Wolff said to him down the team radio: “This is a bit of a s*** box to drive.
“And sorry for the back problems.”

Not only is the bottoming out uncomfortable, it means Hamilton and team-mate George Russell are struggling to see their braking points.
And to make matters worse, they are now hitting the ground so much, it is slowing them down.

“But we are very slow on the straight and I am sure part of that is the bottoming, which slows you down, so we have a lot to do.”
Hamilton, who has failed to qualify in the top four all year, says the bouncing is a safety issue while Russell fears the new car design rules are “dangerous” and will cause a “major incident”.
Russell said: “The bottoming has been extreme. We got on top of the porpoising issue and we’re now so close to the ground to get the maximum aero benefit and it’s brutal being shaken to pieces.

The suggestion was first made by congressman Andre Figueiredo last November after Hamilton unfurled a Brazilian flag following his incredible Grand Prix victory in Sao Paulo.
Hamilton visited the South American country in April to speak at an event, backing the move to grant him honorary citizenship when asked about it.
Upon receiving the news, Hamilton wrote on Instagram: “Speechless. Today I was granted honorary citizenship to one of my favourite places in the world.
“I don’t really have the words right now. Thank you Brasil, I love you, I can’t wait to see you again. 🇧🇷❤️”
