Portugal have seen off Turkey after an incredibly tense finish in Porto. But they were made to work very hard for it.

Fonte and Portugal aren’t happy, but Yilmaz has the chance to level the scores.

    Portugal 2-1 Turkey
78, Under gets a shot off from the edge of the area. But there’s not enough power in it and it dribbles wide of the left post.
Ronaldo gets up the other end and beats his man, but his ball into the area is intercepted.
    Portugal 2-1 Turkey
74, Great chance for Otavio to seal it!
Dalot fools everyone with a quick step-over and whips a ball across goal. It goes all the way over to Guerreiro on the other wing. He plays a nice ball across to Otavio who had the whole goal to aim at, but heads it wide.
If only Jota had been there.
    Portugal 2-1 Turkey
72, Kabak does well to win the ball back initially, but then decides to dribble it out of his own box and runs into Fernandes.
Portugal can’t take advantage, but there are far too many risks from Turkey.
Portugal 2-1 Turkey – Portugal change
70, Jota is off for Felix.
Calhanoglu has a strike from distance, but drags it well wide.
    Portugal 2-1 Turkey
69, Yilmaz gets the wrong side of Danilo and goes down in the area. It looked a certain penalty, but on replay Yilmaz has thrown himself to the floor without contact.
A brilliant spot by the refreee.
In the midst of this Turkey resurgence, I’ve forgotten to tell you Calhanoglu picked up a booking.
Portugal 2-1 Turkey – Turkey substitution
66, Unal is on for Akturkoglu
    Portugal 2-1 Turkey
I was just about to say it looked like Turkey had given up.
But a brilliant one two between Yilmaz and Under gives Turkey a lifeline!
Yilmaz plays it into his strike partner, and under brilliantly scoops it back to him for Yilmaz to put it past Costa.
    Game on?

However they followed these triumphs up with a wretched Afcon in which they came bottom of a group containing Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea.
2017 Afcon champions Cameroon also failed to qualify for the last World Cup and will be looking to put things right this time around.
The Indomitable Lions were hosts of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, in which they reached the semi-final before being knocked out on penalties by Egypt and Mo Salah.
That exit saw manager Toni Conceicao sacked, with former West Ham and Liverpool star Rigobert Song stepping up from the Under-23s to take charge of these two crucial games.
But their preparations for this match have been rocked by goalkeeper Andre Onana being involved in a car crash.
