Man Utd offered Sergio Reguilon transfer by Real Madrid but it could only be a loan despite £27m bid

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly been offered Sergio Reguilon on loan, despite bidding £27million.
The defender enjoyed a breakthrough season playing for Sevilla last season having been loaned out by Real Madrid.

Man Utd have reportedly been offered Sergio Reguilon on loan, despite bidding £27m
And despite being voted LaLiga’s best left-back last term, Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane has no plans for Reguilon to stay in the Spanish capital this season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United have the chance to sign the 23-year-old on loan.
It comes after they already offered £27m to sign him permanently, but Sport say Madrid are undecided on whether they want to let the full-back leave permanently.
If the Spanish champions wish to keep Reguilon on their books, United could have to settle for a loan move.

PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham are also among those interested in signing the Spaniard.
But United emerge as frontrunners to sign him, with Solskjaer keen to bolster his options at left-back and provide competition for places.

Luke Shaw remains injury prone while Brandon Williams is regarded as one for the future after his emergence.
Reguilon currently has no space in the Madrid side, with Ferland Mendy overtaking Marcelo as the club’s preferred left-back.

The defender is also open to spending another year at Sevilla.

Man Utd signing Donny van de Beek slammed as a ‘panic buy’ done to appease fans in extraordinary blast by Paul Merson

MANCHESTER UNITED’s big summer signing Donny van de Beek is nothing more than a ‘panic buy’ bought to appease fans, claims Paul Merson.
The 23-year-old was snapped up for £39million from Ajax, in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first deal of the summer window.

Paul Merson called the Van de Beek signing a ‘panic buy’
But it left former Arsenal player turned pundit Merson scratching his head, with United already filled with options in central midfield.
With Premier League rivals having already strengthen their squads, the Red Devils were accused of rushing into business.
Merson told the Daily Star: “Donny van de Beek looks like a panic buy at Manchester United. I don’t get it.
“They just spent £40m on a position where they are already strong and how does he play with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes?

“You have to have someone who can play the holding role.
“That signing looked to me like: ‘Oh we haven’t bought anyone yet, let’s go and buy someone, who can we get?'”
United are still in the market for a defender and winger, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho their primary target.
But Jack Grealish – who received his first England call up – is also a creative alternative for Solskjaer.

United are also still in the race to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich, but face competition from Liverpool.
The Spaniard has just a year left on his deal, with the German champions ready to cash in on the £27m rated playmaker.
Liverpool are believed to be leading the race, with Georginio Wijnaldum linked with a move to Barcelona, which could create space for Thiago.

Smalling and Rojo return to Man Utd training with futures up in air as Solskjaer plans more transfer dealings

DEFENSIVE pair Chris Smalling and Marcus Rojo were among the star names to return to Manchester United with their futures up in the air.
Smalling, 30, and Rojo, also 30, both spent last season out on loan.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrives in his Range Rover
But with their next moves yet to be sorted out, they were pictured arriving at Carrington for pre-season training.
Smalling, pictured driving a Ferrari, impressed at Roma last season with the Italians still keen to make a permanent move for the centre-half.
But United are holding out for £20million.
Another facing the axe at Old Trafford is playmaker Jesse Lingard, 27, who arrived for training in a Lamborghini.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – snapped arriving in his Range Rover – is a fan of Lingard, having coached him at youth level.
But the Old Trafford boss is open to selling the inconsistent playmaker if an acceptable offer comes in.
United have already signed 23-year-old Donny van De Beek for £40million and also want to bring in a defender.
Marcus Rashford, 22, who pulled out of England’s Nations League squad, was also pictured pulling into Carrington.

But team-mate Mason Greenwood, 18, got his first senior call up – and hailed his idol Rashford.
Greenwood said: “I’d say Marcus is my inspiration because he’s come through the same pathway.
“He’s helped me a lot, he’s done the same, he’s been in my position and knows how it feels.
“It’s nice to have someone like that, someone to look up to and I’ve played with him as well which is another bonus.
“He’s a good lad, we’re all proud of him, we’re all looking after him and it’s amazing what he’s trying to do.”

Man Utd target Upamecano confirms transfer talks with several clubs and says ‘we’ll see what happens’ about future

DAYOT UPAMECANO has confirmed he has held transfer talks to leave RB Leipzig in the past – but is no rush to leave just yet.
The centre-back was a long-time target for Arsenal, who this week welcomed Gabriel Magalhaes to the Emirates.

And he has also attracted recent attention from Manchester United as they seek to find a partner for captain Harry Maguire.
But Upamecano’s immediate future appears to be with Leipzig – having signed a new deal in July.
He said: “I extended my contract with Leipzig because I feel good with my team-mates.
“My coach is giving me confidence. He’s learning as well, but he gives me confidence and it improves my level.

“I’ve been in Leipzig for more than three years, I feel good.
“I’ve been in demand, I talked to some clubs, it’s true, but I’m not in a hurry.
“We’ll see what happens in the future.”
Despite mounting speculation about Upamecano leaving Germany, Leipzig were quick to remind fans about his contract extension.

Exactly a month since he penned a new three-year deal with the club, they retweeted the tweet confirming the extension and added: “ICYMI” – meaning “in case you missed it”.
Upamecano’s new deal with the Germans has a £40million release clause that can be activated next summer.
United are looking to switch their attention to Upamecano once the signing of Donny van de Beek from Ajax is over the line.
It comes as they agreed a £40m deal with the Dutch outfit, with the 23-year-old set to pen a five-year contract.

Man Utd star Marcus Rashford likes tweet claiming Donny van de Beek is set for medical ahead of £40m transfer

MARCUS RASHFORD “liked” a tweet claiming Donny van de Beek is set for a Manchester United medical.
United have agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old, and started negotiations with Ajax over a transfer fee.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League side have launched an opening bid of £31milllion.
The news United are “confident” and closing in on the signing caught the eye of Rashford, who liked the tweet.
Romano then said: “…and thanks for the likes to @MarcusRashford – it seems you’re waiting.”
Van de Beek’s potential midfield partner Bruno Fernandes was also quick to share his delight at the possible signing.

Midfielder van de Beek missed Ajax’s friendly with Eintracht Frankfurt with coach Erik ten Hag suggesting there were developments, saying: “We are looking at how that will end.”
Former United No1 Edwin van der Sar, now director of football at Ajax, revealed his old club’s interest back in June.
And Solskjaer believes he is the right kind of signing in terms of profile and cost for what is a very difficult transfer window.
Dutch reports claim van de Beek has told pals he wants to join United.

And they are leading the way with no other club offering anywhere near Ajax’s £40m valuation mark.

Van der Sar is already on record as saying the Dutch giants will not sell on the cheap — despite the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Real Madrid were on the verge of landing van de Beek for around £49m last summer but the deal fell through.
Other clubs have shown interest in Van de Beek but United are now strong favourites to land him.

Man Utd goalkeeper Joel Pereira agrees Huddersfield loan transfer with Henderson and De Gea to battle for No1 jersey

MANCHESTER UNITED have sent Portuguese keeper Joel Pereira to Huddersfield Town on loan.
Pereira, who had a season in Scotland with Hearts, is unwanted this season Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who has already welcomed back Dean Henderson.

    1

Man Utd have sent Portuguese keeper Joel Pereira to Huddersfield Town on loanSunSport had revealed how the Terriers were keen to tie up a deal for the 24-year-old as they look for two new shot stoppers for their squad.
Henderson, 23, will challenge David De Gea, 29, for United’s No 1 spot after impressing on loan with Sheffield United.
The England keeper signed a new five-year £120,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
And he is expected to stay in Manchester to battle it out with De Gea.

It leaves no room for Pereira, who is behind even Sergio Romero in the pecking order.
Pereira has only ever made two United appearances.
And his contract expires next summer, meaning his Old Trafford career could be over.

United’s long-time back-up Romero is also considering his future.

Aston Villa are interested in the Argentine, who wants to battle for his place in a Premier League starting 11.
Leeds and Everton are also said to be eyeing 33-year-old Romero.

Man Utd to confirm transfers for Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez with Barcelona & Real Madrid starlets isolating in UK

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to confirm the signings of defenders Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez.
The Spanish teens will go into the United youth set-up once final clearance is sealed.

Jurado, 16, is joining from Barcelona while Fernandez, 17, arrives from Real Madrid.
The pair are understood to be isolating with a local family after moving from Spain as the country is currently on the UK’s two-week quarantine list under Covid-19 guidelines.
The young duo were snapped in Adidas United training gear on Jurado’s Instagram and the outgoing Barca kid has already changed his Instagram bio to say “Manchester United player”.
The right-back is thought to have rejected a three-year deal to remain at the Nou Camp and arrives alongside fellow defender Fernandez.

They will join former Sunderland teenagers Joe Hugill and Logan Pye who made the move to Old Trafford in July.
Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek also joined the United youth set-up from Sigma Olomouc.
United are also signing Tromso forward Isak Hansen-Aaroen, who turned 16 last weekend.
The Norwegian wonderkid last month became the youngest ever Tromso player, making his debut at the age of 15 years 319 days — United are now awaiting paperwork to complete the deal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also given a trial to ex-Yeovil Town forward Devon Arnold.
The 18-year-old bagged a winning goal on debut for United’s Under-23s in a 1-0 win over Stoke on Tuesday.
If he continues to impress, the Red Devils will be able to snap him up permanently without a transfer fee as he is a free agent.
