The pair were reportedly involved in a training ground bust-up after Cancelo found out he was dropped for the club’s FA Cup clash against Arsenal.
This came as Guardiola tweaked his system after questioning his players’ hunger to win the Premier League again.
With Cancelo’s and the City boss’ relationship becoming strained, the club took the bold decision to allow Cancelo to leave on loan.
The Portuguese international started life at Bayern in impressive fashion and already has one goal and four assists from his eight appearances.

However, it has now emerged that the star is growing frustrated after being benched by the Bundesliga side’s boss Julian Nagelsmann.
And it seems unlikely that Bayern will take up their option to buy him permanently for £60m.
But he will still have another option regarding his future with Barcelona making him a priority signing, according to Spanish outlet SPORT.
City are allegedly prepared to do business and would sanction another loan departure.

Nou Camp president Joan Laporta has already revealed that he will attempt to sign a new full-back over the summer.
Veteran Sergi Roberto is the only recognised right-back in the current squad.
City signed the player in a £60m deal three-and-a-half years ago from Juventus.
Cancelo only signed a contract extension with City 12 months ago and is currently tied to the club until summer 2027. More

He bagged all five goals in just 35 minutes to take his total tally to 39 goals in 36 games this season, a figure that saw him break the Citizens’ all-time record set by Tommy Johnson 94-years ago.
But the star striker’s exploits kicked off when he was in first grade as he broke a long jump world record for five-year-olds.
The Norway international leapt 1.63m in 2006 during his tender years in Bryne.
That was of course not the only time the 22-year-old showed athletic prowess as he also exhibited tremendous speed in 2020 while playing for Borussia Dortmund.

The Norwegian star was clocked sprinting 60m in just 6.64 seconds, which would have put him in the World Championship athletics indoor final in 2018.
Sport appears to be in Haaland’s genes as his father and agent Alf-Inge also enjoyed a successful Premier League career playing for Leeds, Nottingham Forest and of course City.
The ex-Red Bull Salzburg star’s mother Gry Marita also used to be a national heptathlon champion in Norway.

That total broke City’s all-time record set by Tommy Johnson 94-YEARS ago, and it’s still only March.
Hotshot Haaland hit a first-half hat-trick, his FIFTH treble of the campaign, while Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne also struck as City thrashed RB Leipzig 7-0.
He now has an astonishing nine goals in the Champions League and became the fastest player to score 30 goals in the competition.
Haaland smashed Ruud van Nistelrooy’s existing record of 34 games by achieving the scoring feat in a ridiculous 25 matches.

But what makes is feat on Tuesday even more remarkable is that he only touched the ball 30 times throughout his 63 minutes on the pitch – meaning that he scored with every SIXTH touch.
Haaland told BT Sport afterwards: “It’s a big night. First of all I’m really proud to play Champions League and I love this competition. Five goals to win 7-0 at home, I’m so happy.
“I’m a bit blurry so I don’t remember the goals. I was just shooting, not thinking.
“I’m so tired after the celebrations. We worked on the pressing. In every game we have to put them under pressure and run because we are so good with Kevin running forward when we can get the ball.

“It was part of the plan and we should do this more.”
He continued: “My super strength? After scoring five goals I have to say scoring goals.
“A lot of goals I didn’t think, I was just doing. A lot of it is just being quick in the mind and putting it where the keeper is not. A little bit is quality but a lot is in the head.”
And on being subbed despite a double hat-trick potentially being on offer, Haaland joked: “I told [Pep Guardiola] when I went off I would love to score a double hat-trick but what could I do? I had to come off.” More

Ferdinand applauded along with the Etihad faithful when the striker left the field early as City reached the Champions League quarter-finals with an 8-1 aggregate success.
Ferdy and no-nonsense Keane were long-time United team-mates before neighbours City became dominant.

A third fan was even clearer: “Wouldn’t see Roy Keane doing that, ex Utd captain clapping a City player.”
That drew this response: “You’d never see an ex player from Liverpool, City and Arsenal do that for a United player.”
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher suggested early in the season that Haaland’s style as an out-and-out finisher was unsuited to City’s short-passing game.
And one fan tweeted: “Should have asked Carra if he still thinks Haaland joined the wrong team.”

Ferdinand himself posted a clip of Haaland’s post-match interview alongside the words: “Freak of nature this guy… fair play.”

“I think a lot of it is being quick in the mind and trying to do the right thing, trying to put it where the keeper is not.
“Of course a little bit of it is quality but a lot of it is in the head.”
The ex-Borussia Dortmund hero also light-heartedly bemoaned his manager for replacing him with half an hour remaining when he had a mere five goals to his name.
He said: “I’ve told Pep Guardiola when I went off, ‘I would love to score a double hat-trick!’. But what can I do?!” More

He is highly regarded by the Gunners but they risk losing him amid interest from Premier League rivals.
Chelsea and City are amongst the clubs who are keeping tabs on Nwaneri, according to The Telegraph.
But Arsenal have not given up their hopes of keeping the youngster, who could agree scholarship terms with the club when he turns 16 on March 21.
Arsenal will be determined to avoid a repeat of last summer when they lost highly-rated academy prospect Omari Hutchinson to Chelsea.

Unlike Nwaneri, Hutchinson was never given a first-team opportunity and Arteta’s faith in the teenager could influence him to stay.
Arteta said of his decision to play Nwaneri against Brentford: “I met the boy and really liked what I saw.
“Per Mertesacker and the academy staff gave me really good information about him as well.
“It’s another step, another experience. In your career all the steps are not going to be forward.
