ENZO FERNANDEZ “looked lost” as he raged at Chelsea’ s misfits during a celebratory stroll for Manchester City’s second XI.Britain’s costliest player waved his arms in exasperation when finding no-one to pass to while City basked in title glory with a 1-0 Etihad win.

And Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp felt sorry for the £107million midfielder.
The former England ace believes Fernandez appears “lost” as Chelsea’s bulging squad of under-achievers flounder in 12th place.
Interim chief Frank Lampard again found no answers on the pitch as Blues’ fans wait for Mauricio Pochettino to take the permanent job.
Fernandez and Co were largely outplayed by a City side who rested top names like Erling Haaland.

That was because Arsenal’s 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday guaranteed a third Prem title in a row for Pep Guardiola’s men.
City will clinch a Treble if they beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan in the Champions League showpiece.
But supporters online were dumbfounded by Chelsea’s latest loss.
One posted: “Enzo was angry because he looked around and couldn’t find anyone to pass the ball to.”

But some observers believe the whole Chelsea team seems de-motivated, despite £323million being spent on new players in January.
One posted: “Everybody just looks like they don’t care… there’s nothing to play for so to say, but that’s where pride should come into play.
“These players act like they don’t mind losing. That’s something we can’t have a loser’s mentality will kill the locker room like cancer.”

Chelsea fans very divided as stars give ‘most expensive ever guard of honour’ to ‘Man City B team’

CHELSEA fans are divided after their team gave Premier League champions Manchester City the guard of honour at the Etihad.City were confirmed as this season’s Prem winners on Saturday when title rivals Arsenal lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Therefore, the Blues were required to give the Citizens a guard of honour before kick-off.
City manager Pep Guardiola decided to rest key players like Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan with the title already sealed and the FA Cup as well as Champions League still to play for.
Guardiola opted for back-up options, such as Stefan Ortega, Sergio Gomez, Rico Lewis and Cole Palmer.
That didn’t sit well with some Chelsea fans, who could see their star-studded team finishing 12th in the Premier League table despite spending almost £1billion on signings this season.

And they are not happy to see the “most expensive guard of honour” for City’s “B team”.
One fan tweeted: “Gave the reserves a guard of honour.”
Another posted: “We gave a guard of honour to Pep’s B team.”
A third wrote: “This has to be the most expensive guard of honour.”

This fan said: “Giving a guard of honour to a team without a single Champions League trophy doesn’t sit well with me.”
And that one stated: “We gave Rico Lewis and Cole Palmer a guard of honour, if this doesn’t motivate our players to at the very least, get top 4 next season then this bunch of players is finished.”
However, there were some Chelsea fans that praised their players for showing class despite their turbulent campaign.
Others believe this could motivate the players to turn a corner next season, just like they did in 2017 just a year after giving Leicester a guard of honour when they finished in 10th place.

Man City ready to sell star after stunning season out on loan with Bundesliga clubs lining up transfer

Steffen has lost his place as City No 2 and his best chances of playing may be elsewhere and the timing is right to cash in.
The 28-year-old played for Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan in the past and could attract Bundesliga interest.
City want a Prem club for England Under-21 cap James Trafford, who has shone at Bolton on loan.
Burnley and Sheffield United are keen but he would have to start — and that may not be possible at either of those clubs.

Steffen joined Man City from MLS side Columbus Crew in 2019 and has since made 21 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.
He was loaned out to Fortuna Dusseldorf during his first season before joining back up with the City squad ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, the goalkeeper fell down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Stefan Ortega last summer.
Steffen was loaned out to Middlesbrough in July and since made 45 appearances.

In March, he admitted that he did not wish to return to the Etihad at the end of his loan.
The goalkeeper told The Philadelphia Inquirer: “I don’t think I’ll go back.
“No, I want to be playing. Although I had a great time at City and I love those guys, and obviously [it’s] an amazing club, I don’t really have any plans to go back.” More

Man City boss Guardiola lines up Gundogan’s replacement if German star decides to leave Premier League champions

PEP GUARDIOLA is considering Joshua Kimmich as a potential replacement for Ilkay Gundogan – if the Manchester City skipper leaves this summer.Guardiola, who signed Kimmich, 28, during his time as Bayern Munich boss, has been alerted to the fact the German international was angered by Julian Nagelsmann’s sacking in March.

He is said to be seeking a fresh challenge – and his ability to play across the back four and in midfield has put him on the City chief’s radar.
Barcelona are interested, but their main focus remains signing Gundogan on a free transfer should he decide to leave the Etihad.
Guardiola is already on the lookout for a replacement should the City skipper leave, and is a massive fan of his international team-mate.
Bayern are trying to raise cash to strengthen their ranks, including selling former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.

They have told City they cannot afford the £60 million asking price to turn Joao Cancelo’s loan into a permanent move.
But the potential of using Kimmich, 28, as part of any transfer has increased the chances of sealing a deal.
Kimmich still has two years left on his current deal but has given no indication that he is willing to sign an extension.
Guardiola has also run the rule over Chelsea’s Matteo Kovacic, who is a year older and would command a similar £50m fee.

Man City and Pep Guardiola deserve all the plaudits.. but let’s never forget Man Utd’s stunning legacy

THERE isn’t a team in Europe to touch them, they’ll finish the season with a Treble and could eventually go down as one of the greatest sides in history. But as brilliant and breathtaking as Manchester City have been at times, I’m sorry . . . I don’t go with those who say the Premier League has never seen football like it.

Of course they have been  fantastic, that first half against Real Madrid was out of this world, and I do love Pep Guardiola.
For 45 minutes Madrid didn’t have a kick and if it hadn’t been for Thibaut Courtois, City could have had half a dozen.
It was as good as I’ve seen this season  but, for me, some of the stuff that Manchester United played under Sir Alex Ferguson was on a par and probably even better at times.
I know that it won’t make me popular with City fans but the  way United blew sides away —  on a regular basis — was just  something else.

Not just one side, either, he built a few of them. But I look at the team with Eric Cantona and Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs and Andrei Kanchelskis,  Roy Keane and Paul Ince and think, ‘Wow’.
There was the one with Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Teddy Sheringham to come off the bench.
They had David Beckham and Ryan Giggs tearing down the wings and Gary Neville and Denis Irwin overlapping from full-back.
You couldn’t get near Paul  Scholes, Jaap Stam was a giant at the back and Keane was running midfield. No wonder sides were beaten before they went out.

It’s true when they say that, as well. And a story always comes to mind from when I was managing Portsmouth and had a lovely kid called Linvoy Primus, who was very religious.
Before one game I’d swapped team sheets with Sir Alex, went back to our dressing room and there were only about three players in there.
When I asked where the  rest were, someone told me, “Linvoy has started a prayer group and a load of the lads are in the boot room with him”.
I looked at the names on the sheet in my hand and said, “Fair enough . . . I think I’d better go and join them!”
But that’s how good United were — they dominated English football for years and I’m not having it when people say, “Ah yes, but they never got 100 points”.
There were a lot of good teams around back then, you really did have to work for your wins.
And even though it wasn’t too long ago, you could still get away with a lot more as well.
Playing someone like Wimbledon was scary for a manager, never mind the players, believe me!
What made Sir Alex special was the way he would tweak things each year. That’s what Pep does now and he has been amazing. Harry Redknapp
The Crazy Gang would be  hammering on your door, scream at players in the tunnel, and really get stuck in.
How City and the modern lot would have coped with that, I’m not sure.
It’s why it always makes me laugh when people say the best players from back in the day wouldn’t be able to handle the speed of the game now.
That’s rubbish. If anything it should be the other way round, because back then you were doing it ankle deep in mud at times, with tackles that would make your eyes water.
What made Sir Alex so special was the way he would tweak things each year, just bring in one or two and off they’d go again. And he also knew when to sell them as well.
To be fair, that’s what Pep does now and he has been amazing. But recruitment was totally different in Fergie’s day.
He knew every player simply because the bulk of them were from Britain back then. And, of course, having so many from the youth team was something we’ll never see again.
I’m not one of those who would ever say, “Such and such a team from one era would beat such and such from another,” so I’m not getting into that debate.
    Read More on The Sun
And for the brilliant work he’s done at City, there may well come a time when we say Pep and his City team is the best ever.
But really, we should just  make the most of watching them because there is one thing no one can argue with . . . they’re in a league of their own right now. More

I played for England but quit football for fashion – My label made £6.6m last year and I’m on the Rich List worth £88m

FOOTBALLER, Reece Wabara, hung up his boots in 2017 to launch his own fashion label – and now he is worth £88million.The former Man City right-back felt uninspired by his footie career and decided to kickstart his profitable side hustle.

After his contract with Man City ended by mutual consent in 2014, Wabara jumped into entrepreneurship with both feet.
Following former school mate Lewis Morgan, who co-founded Gym Shark, the then 22-year-old launched and invested £15,000 into Maniere De Voir.
He told previously said: “I kept asking, where can I maximise my potential to be great.
“I always had a way of dressing that was different and Lewis (Morgan, co-founder of Gymshark) said to me, ‘You should do something in fashion’.”

Despite a rocky start, profits today have doubled to £6.6 million from last year and Oxford Street, London will soon welcome Wabara’s first store.
Sport icons including Anthony Joshua and Raheem Sterling have donned apparel from the brand,
And Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards is also reportedly a supporter.
    ‘FOOTBALLER TO FASHION’
Man City recruited Reece when he was 16 and by 19 he had been offered a three-year £1million-per-year deal.

But this was ended in 2014 and the young player struggled to regain a place in a first team.
He bounced around on loan to various clubs including Blackpool, Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.
By 2017, the 26-year-old decided the only pitch he wanted in his life was in the fashion board room.
He previously said he “knew my football days at City were coming to an end” and his dad encouraged him to find another source of income.
“The transition from footballer to fashion owner was a gradual one and only when the numbers and politics in football started to eat away at me did I need to make a choice,” he told Sports On Screen.
“My football wasn’t progressing in the way I intended it to.
“The business was progressing at an alarming rate and I had to choose one or the other because focus is important.”
And focus he did, working seven days a week around the clock to get his business on its feet.
In a genius business plan move, the young entrepreneur designed and produced more women’s clothing in Maniere De Voir.
“Men are very simple by nature,” he said.
“There’s only so much you can do with those silhouettes.
“Whereas women are more experimental – and they shop a lot more, typically.”
The inclusion of women’s clothes massively helped boost sales and Manière de Voir’s biggest-selling lines include £100 high-waisted cargo pants and £90 vegan leather corsets.
Much of the range is designed by Reece himself, including £30 T-shirts and more expensive £90 tracksuits.
From his first year turnover of £1million, some seven years later he was raking in £30.2million.
Talking about his success sky-rocketing overnight, he said: “I was super-naïve, so I just thought that was normal.”
“My football wasn’t progressing in the way I intended it to, the business was progressing at an alarming rate and I had to choose one or the other because focus is important.”Reece Wabara
Reece landed himself a spot on the Sunday Times Young Rich List – above footballer Marcus Rashford and level with rapper Stormzy’s net worth.
Yet Wabara, now 31, still told The Times he often feels like a “failure” because his dreams of becoming a successful footballer were shattered so quickly.
He said: “I honestly don’t feel I’ve achieved that much.
“I honestly feel like I’m just getting started.”
This year’s Times Young Rich List includes four other people who attended South Bromsgrove High School.
Ben Francis and Lewis Morgan, who founded athletic wear giant Gym Shark.
Another successful gym wear brand for women, Aybl, now worth 10s of millions, was created by Reiss and Kris Edgerton.
At 30 and 29, the brothers opened up about the fact they used to brainstorm ideas on Skype with the UK’s youngest billionaire.
They spoke about their rise to success – from feeling lost after leaving their studying plans behind, and making a mere £150 a week.
But it doesn’t appear teachers at the school were the source of Reece’s inspiration.
“No — I can’t even remember their names,” he joked.
The Manchester-based company is now estimated to be worth £100 million and Reece pockets 83 per cent of the shares.
    KEY TO SUCCESS
The fashion designer believes taking the time to create a sustainable approach is key to making his fortune.
The 31-year-old highlighted the balance between being brave enough to take the risk but smart enough to keep within your financial means.
He said he has borrowed limited money and even paid himself an annual salary below what his footballer pals would earn in a week.
He said: “Grow slowly, target sustained profit over short-lived accelerated revenue and always focus on your customers, not your competitors.
“Don’t let monetary success create complacency or make you think you are untouchable.”

He advised keeping the company of people who will be honest with you and try to stay out of the limelight.
When asked if he thinks his brand will take him to the main Sunday Times Rich List, he said: “Let’s see, I’ll do the best I can and see where it lands me.”

Man City lining up £85m transfer for World Cup star as outcast defender looks set to leave club

He got a close up view when the two teams met in this season’s Champions League Round of 16 and his view remains the same.
So they could firm up their interest if any defenders decide to leave City and seek a new challenge this summer.
Aymeric Laporte is the most likely to go after falling down the pecking order following the arrival of Manuel Akanji in August.
And Gvardiol’s versatility would appeal to Guardiola as he can also play at left-back where City also have a vacancy.
    Red More on Football
Leipzig have maintained their defender – who has a release clause of around £98million until 2024 – is not for sale.
However it is believed a bid in the region of £85m could bring them to the table due to their money worries.
They need to balance the books to get in line with UEFA’s financial fair play guidelines and that is likely to mean another of their stars leaving.
Christopher Nkunku – who is linked with Chelsea – and Konrad Laimer are already expected to leave but there may need to be at least one more major sale.
