Dumbfounded fans say Erling Haaland is a ‘cheat code’ after Man City star’s filthy bicycle kick against Southampton

FANS were left open-mouthed after Erling Haaland’s stunning bicycle kick against Southampton. The striker had already broken the deadlock earlier in the game but left his best moment until the second half.

Jack Grealish sent in a cross that was just behind the big Norwegian.
Bu that was no matter to him as he launched himself into the air to try and rescue the chance.
Haaland then pulled off a filthy bicycle kick to send the ball past Gavin Bazunu.
It turned out to be his last touch of the match as he was quickly subbed off but fans were still left reeling from his goal long after he departed.
One delighted City supporter said: “Haaland is such a cheat code. Grealish assist too we are eating good.”
Another said: “This haaland guy is a robot.”
While another fan noted: “Erling Haaland has scored more league goals this season than 8 Premier League teams.”
And one admirer of the goal-scorer added: “Haaland will score 40 PL goals by the end of the season. That guy is not normal.”

It was the 22-year-old’s 30th strike of a goal-laden Premier League season, with his 29th coming at the end of scrappy first-half as the relegation-battling Saints frustrated Pep Guardiola’s side.
But Kevin De Bruyne found space near the touchline and sent in a cross for Haaland to head home just before half-time.
Grealish also scored in between Haaland’s brace as the midfielder continues his strong run of form.
But ultimately it was Haaland making the headlines again as he continues his astonishing debut season at the Etihad.
He now has 42 goals in all competitions, with last month seeing him hit five against RB Leipzig in Europe before netting a hat-trick in the FA Cup a few days later More

I saved a penalty from Pep Guardiola – he said I could have anything I wanted if I stopped it but he broke his promise

JAMES TRAFFORD has revealed he denied Pep Guardiola from the penalty spot – and had a laugh with the Man City boss afterwards. The Manchester City youngster recently won his first piece of silverware while on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
James Trafford played in the EFL Trophy-winning Bolton Wanderers side
Trafford kept a clean sheet in the EFL Trophy final, making a crucial save to deny Ryan Hardie as Bolton went on to beat Plymouth Argyle 4-0.
This is the shot-stopper’s second loan spell at Bolton and he’s quickly become a fan favourite.
Trafford, 20, has already made history playing in the sticks during Bolton’s record-breaking nine consecutive home fixtures without conceding a single goal.
He currently has the second most clean sheets across the top four English divisions, keeping four in his first four games to break the club record.

But the England Under-21 keeper has impressed Man City boss Pep Guardiola at his parent club too.
Trafford demonstrated his quality during a post-training penalty shootout in 2020.
The youngster said: “I like to have a bit of banter and Pep was taking a penalty and he said, ‘You can have anything you want if you save it.’
“I said, ‘Can I start on the weekend?’

Kevin De Bruyne wears matching tracksuit as Man City star enjoys stroll through Cheshire with wife Michele

HE’S the Premier League’s best-paid and arguably most silky-skilled star. But Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne opted for the simplest of pleasures as he strolled with his family in a Cheshire village on a day off.

KDB made it even more plain as he wore matching grey tracksuit top and bottoms in his walk with wife Michelle.
De Bruyne was pushing two-year-old son Suri in a pram.
The couple, who have three kids, basked in the gentle sun and a goal-den glow from Saturday’s demolition of Liverpool.
The Belgium hero drilled City 2-1 up and then crossed for Jack Grealish to round off a 4-1 Prem win at the Etihad.

But De Bruyne looked reflective as he pushed a buggy on Tuesday.
Maybe that’s partly because champions City remain eight points behind leaders Arsenal, albeit with a game in hand.
But with the arrival of British Summer Time, KDB, as well as the clocks, has sprung forward as the 31-year-old regains his peak form.
Grealish’s purple patch might be one reason for that as the Englishman, for now at least, is overshadowing Pep Guardiola’s overseas brigade.

De Bruyne was snapped in his most comfy, casual attire outside a bus top.
But not even a bus in front of the goal would have stopped City outclassing Liverpool at the weekend.
Mo Salah’s shock opener for the eighth-placed Reds was shrugged aside as Guardiola’s men highlighted the gulf this term between last season’s top two.
That made the day for Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp as grey as KDB’s tracksuit.

Pep Guardiola’s brother, Pere, is reportedly in the running to represent the midfielderCredit: Getty
Veiga, 20, has netted nine goals and assisted four more in 26 LaLiga games this season.
This form has seen him linked with clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Real Madrid as well as the Citizens.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side could have an ace up their sleeves in their attempts to sign the youngster.
Pep’s brother Pere, a football agent who works for Sports Entertainment Group, is a leading candidate to represent the midfielder according to the Daily Mail.

The report also claims that Pere made his pitch to Veiga’s sister last week after other agencies ‘First You’ and Pini Zahavi tried to lure the youngster.
According to reports, Veiga has a £35million release clause in his contract which could tempt potential suitors.
And if the player is represented by the brother of the Man City manager then it could help negotiations to get him to the Etihad Stadium.
This would be helpful as the Spanish Under-21 international is “dreaming about joining Arsenal”, according to Spanish publication Faro de Vigo.

It also adds that the prospect of living in London also appeals to the young ace.
Celta president Carlos Mourino recently accepted that holding onto Veiga is virtually impossible – not least financially.
He also revealed that at least four Premier League clubs are seriously interested in signing him.
Mourino said: “We want to keep Gabri Veiga but it will be impossible due to his release clause.
“We don’t want to sell, but they are going to buy him from us. And we can’t do anything there.
“We know some of his offers and it is impossible to reach them.
“There are several teams behind Gabri. Real Madrid? They haven’t asked us, we don’t know if they will have called the player.

Rodri was lucky to avoid red card in Man City clash, but ref was consistent and Liverpool could face Arsenal-style rap

Mohamed Salah fired Liverpool into the lead on 17 minutes but Julian Alvarez levelled seconds before half-time.
But it was one-way traffic after the restart as quickfire goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan gave them the advantage.
Man of the Match Jack Grealish then capped off his superb performance grabbed a fourth with 16 minutes remaining.
However, many felt that City midfielder Rodri was fortunate to escape getting his marching orders while it was still goalless.

The Spanish international was booked for a cynical challenge on Diogo Jota, and then just seconds later he pulled back Cody Gakpo with both arms.
Liverpool’s players surrounded referee Simon Hooper, but the official only gave the City man a talking to as he escaped further punishment.
Now ex-Prem whistler Halsey exclusively gives his verdict on the incident to Sun Sport:
Rodri can count himself lucky Simon Hooper chose to referee the game in a lenient way because on another day his first half challenge on Cody Gakpo could have resulted in him getting a second yellow card for denying a promising attack.

There were a few players who could have received yellow cards but the referee was consistent in the way he dealt with careless challenges.
Fabinho got away with a couple of early challenges and Trent Alexander-Arnold might also have been booked on another day.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool get charged with failing to control their players immediately after the Rodri incident
The players surrounded the referee and that’s not something we want to see.
Arsenal and Man City were hit with fines for failing to control their players after their heated Premier League encounter in February.
The FA’s charge came after both sets of players surrounded the referee at multiple times during the game.
And the Independent Regulatory Commission fined the clubs with Arsenal having to take a bigger punishment due to previous incidents.
Man City have been fined £75,000 after admitting the players did not behave in an orderly fashion in the 42nd and 64th minutes of the game.
Arsenal were fined £65,000 after admitting they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the 56th minute.

An independent appeal board has added an additional £20,000 fine for a suspended charge after the club also drew the FA’s ire for their behaviour during an FA Cup game at Oxford.
It’s been a repeated issue for Arsenal with the players’ behaviour against Newcastle in January also seeing the club charged.
