Kalvin Phillips in line for huge transfer to Euro giants with Premier League sides behind in £45m race for Man City star

JUVENTUS are leading the race to sign England midfielder Kalvin Phillips next month.  The Manchester City bit-part player knows he needs a move in the January window to keep his Three Lions Euro 2024 dream alive.

There is plenty of interest in the £45million former Leeds man.
But the Italian giants are showing the most — and Phillips is interested in trying his luck abroad.
Phillips, 27, turned down the chance to go on loan in the summer but has just one start this season in the EFL Cup.
His chances of action will not improve either with John Stones close to a return from injury.

Juventus, though, will face “intense” competition for Phillips’ signature as Newcastle are also interested.
In fact, the Magpies have had a boost in their hopes of landing the England international.
The midfielder is seen as the ideal option to replace the suspended Sandro Tonali.
Tonali was slapped with a 10-month ban in October due to betting breaches.

It has been reported that City would not stand in Phillips’ way if he decided to move to Newcastle.
West Ham and Tottenham have also expressed interest ahead of the January transfer window.

Newcastle ‘consider recalling £7m teen in January’ and receive boost in Kalvin Phillips transfer chase

Minteh, 19, has been impressive in the Netherlands while playing under Arne Slot.
The winger has netted three times and bagged two assists in 10 Eredivisie games.
According to The Telegraph, this form has got Newcastle thinking about bringing him back to St James’ Park in January.
The deal could prove difficult to pull off as the report claims that Feyenoord may not agree to the recall as they paid a fee to have the Gambian for the entire season.

To make it harder for Howe’s side, there was no recall option in the loan deal when it was signed off.
However, it is said that the clubs have a good relationship and that a “compromise” could be found.
Minteh joined Newcastle from Danish club OB Odense in the summer for around £7million but was sent straight out on loan.
Newcastle are expected to have some of their stars return from injury soon to lighten the load on the stretched squad.

Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy are both set to be back before the end of January.
What has made it worse is summer signing Sandro Tonali’s ban for breaching betting rules.
The report also claims that Newcastle have had a boost in their hopes of signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips would be an ideal option to replace Tonali while he is away from the pitch.
It says that City would not stand in his way if he wanted to move north to Tyneside.
However, there is “intense” competition to sign the England international.
Juventus, West Ham and Tottenham are all among the sides interested in signing the 27-year-old. More

City and Prem chiefs have been going back and forth with one another for several months over when the hearing to address the alleged violations will take place.
And according to reports, both parties have finally agreed on a date.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim the trial – which will be behind closed doors – will get underway next autumn.
It’s believed the hearing won’t be concluded until the end of NEXT SEASON – which coincides with the expiration of Pep Guardiola’s contract at the Etihad.
That means the Treble winners may not learn their fate until the summer of 2025.
City are accused of breaching 115 regulations from the 2009-10 season onwards.
Chief among the alleged violations are allegations of over financial reporting and a refusal to cooperate with the Prem’s investigation.
City have vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

If found guilty of the alleged violations, City will likely be handed an unprecedented points deduction.
Everton recently received a huge wrap on the knuckles for a single violation of FFP rules.
The Toffees were given a TEN-POINT points deduction this month for their alleged breach of the rules, which were introduced in 2009 and implemented at the start of the 2011/12 season.
The Merseysiders – who received their charge a month after City – have appealed the deduction.
Relegation could also be on the cards for City if they’re found guilty.
But Guardiola won’t walk away from the club even if they drop into League One, saying: “I will answer when I have the sentence.
“You are questioning like we have been punished. And in the moment we are innocent until guilt is proved.
“I know the people want it. I know, I feel it. I will wait.
“Wait and see it and after the sentence has been done we will come here and explain it.

Messi was told about the tough training sessions at City and he was also warned about the rainy British climate.
The book claims Guardiola said: “In Manchester we train very hard and I make long tactical talks. Maybe you’ll get bored.”
But Messi was still keen to join the club as he reportedly pleaded: “I will train hard, I’m not worried. I will put up with everything you do.
Although it proved not enough to convince the Spaniard over a reunion.

People remembered El Tel with various blasts from the past and one of them had to do with his three-year stint as Barcelona manager.
A photo went viral showing the Dagenham legend being hoisted up by Barca heroes Paco Clos and Migueli.

The Manchester City boss is a Barcelona legend himself as he started out at the club at the tender age of 13 and went on to spend 11 years in the senior squad, most of which saw him wear the armband.
And Gary Neville believes the Spanish tactician learned a lot during Venables’ brief stint in Catalonia as he insists they both had a “very same capability”.
Neville played under the ex-Leeds boss for England and was part of the team that made it to the Euro 1996 semi-finals.
Neville tweeted: “When we hear people that play for Pep Guardiola now say that he can call the outcome of a game in training a few days before the match arrives, Terry Venables had that very same capability, he’d come through the Barcelona system.”
