How Man City could line up with Ferran Torres and Koulibaly as Pep plots transfers to win back Premier League title

MAN CITY boss Pep Guardiola is lining up a double transfer to help win back the Premier League title.
The Spanish manager saw his City side surrender their crown to runaway leaders Liverpool this season and is set to dip into the owner’s pocket to try and get back on top.

Man City could field two new signings next season
And Guardiola could be given a huge £300million transfer war chest to dethrone Jurgen Klopp’s side.
A priority signing is a central defender to partner the impressive Aymeric Laporte at the back.
All faith in John Stones seems to have been lost and a potential return to Everton is on the cards.
And with Eric Garcia wanted by Barcelona and Nicolas Otamendi error-prone, reinforcements are needed.

One man who could fit the bill is Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 29-year-old Senegalese international would cost around £70million but could finally fill the void left by Belgian enforcer Vincent Kompany in the heart of defence.

Another option is Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake who is almost certain to leave the Cherries after their final-day relegation to the Championship.
Legendary midfielder David Silva has bid farewell to the club after a stunning decade in the English top-flight.

Valencia wonderkid Ferran Torres could be the ideal replacement for the outgoing magician Silva.
The LaLiga side are thought to be prepared to cash in if they receive a bid in the region of £39m.
And the 20-year-old would also cover the space left by Leroy Sane’s move to Bayern Munich and is in the final year of his deal at the Mestalla.

Man City aim to complete long-term Vincent Kompany replacement with transfer of Sevilla defender Diego Carlos

MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly hoping to sign Diego Carlos and view the defender as a long-term replacement for Vincent Kompany.
The Etihad club failed to bring in a new centre-back a year ago despite losing influential captain Kompany.

And Pep Guardiola was made to pay for his lack of movement in the transfer window.
Aymeric Laporte missed large chunks of the campaign through injury while John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi struggled for form, meaning Fernandinho often filled in to the back line.
But according to The Telegraph, City want to land Carlos from Sevilla.
They view the 27-year-old as the ideal candidate to fill the void left behind by Kompany – he is quick, athletic, strong and a presence in both boxes.

He would be cheaper than another target, £75million-rated Kalidou Koulibaly, while relations are tense between City and Napoli following the breakdown of the Jorginho transfer in 2018.
Brazilian journeyman Carlos – who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool – signed for Sevilla last year following a three-year stint with Nantes, where he was kicked by a referee in an incredible incident.
He made 35 LaLiga appearances, scoring two goals, and helped the club finish the season with a 15-match unbeaten run which saw them secure Champions League football.

Bournemouth’s relegation should knock a fair sum off their asking price for Nathan Ake, another City target.

Jan Vertonghen, meanwhile, could offer a cheap, short-term alternative to provide cover for Laporte and at left-back following his departure from Spurs.
David Alaba would be a dream signing for Guardiola but the versatile Austrian is more likely to head to Spain rather than England should he leave Bayern Munich.

Man Utd and Chelsea join Man City in Nathan Ake transfer fight as £35m Bournemouth defender considers his future

NATHAN AKE is in no rush to chase a move to Manchester City – because he could have his pick of some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs this summer.
City have made the first tentative contact with Bournemouth about a potential £35million deal for the Dutch international defender.

Boss Pep Guardiola is desperate to strengthen the weakness in his defence which cost them the chance of challenging Liverpool for the title this season.
But SunSport understands there is unlikely to be any quick switch finalised because Ake, 25, is likely to be a man in demand over the coming two months.
Chelsea still retain a buy-back option on the centre-back who came through their academy system.
And the London club have been monitoring his progress closely as Frank Lampard wants someone to improve his own back line before the new season.

And Ake could cost just half the price of another of their targets Declan Rice.
Manchester United have quietly made their interest known as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to increase his own defensive options ahead of what he hopes is a title challenge next season.
So there is no rush for Ake, who will be classed as a home grown player given his education at Stamford Bridge, to make a quick decision over his future.

Bournemouth know they will be unable to stand in Ake’s way of moving if they fail in their efforts to avoid relegation from the top flight this weekend.
The Cherries could be relegated as early as tonight if relegation rivals Watford pick up anything from their game at home to Man City.

How Man City could line-up next season with Pep splashing cash including Koulibaly and Havertz but Stones out

PEP GUARDIOLA is set to align a stunning array of stars to try and win back the Premier League title.
Monday’s successful appeal against their Champions League ban means the club are now well-positioned to launch a summer spending spree.

    1

How Man City could line up next season after their Champions League ban was overturned
A number of positions are said to be at the forefront of Guardiola’s mind, including the defence and his flanks.
Leroy Sane’s exit to Bayern Munich will prompt a serious investment in a replacement with SunSport recently revealing City’s interest in Kai Havertz.
The Bayer Leverkusen star is also wanted by Chelsea after setting Bundesliga alight but is said to want Champions League football next season – something the Blues are in danger of missing out on.
According to the Telegraph, as many as four other players could arrive at the end of the campaign.

Three of those could be defenders with Kalidou Koulibaly strongly linked with a switch from Napoli.
A younger centre-back, such as Benfica’s Ruben Dias or Leicester’s Caglar Soyuncu, could also be targeted to back up the first-choice pair of Koulibaly and Aymeric Laporte, particularly if John Stones goes.

Everton and Arsenal are understood to be chasing the England international who has hardly featured this season.
Completing the summer splurge could be Ben Chilwell as City reportedly continue to mull over a bid for a new left-back.

And a new striker may be brought in if Sergio Aguero continues to motion towards the exit door once his contract expires in June 2021.
The Telegraph report adds that any incoming signings may want guarantees that Guardiola is sticking around ahead of his deal running out in 12 months’ time – but the confirmation of Champions League football will still be a huge boost to City’s hand in negotiations.

Man City plot huge overhaul with up to FIVE new transfers and Koulibaly top target after Champions League ban overturned

MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly plotting a major summer overhaul after their Champions League ban was overturned.
Monday’s news that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has accepted their appeal against alleged Financial Fair Play breaches is said to have served as a green light to proceed with some serious spending.

Pep Guardiola is hoping to close the gap to Liverpool by beefing up his defence after feeling the impact of individual errors in their title defeat this year.
Therefore as many as three purchases could be made at centre-back and left-back.
According to the Telegraph, the coach’s frustration with Benjamin Mendy is tempting him towards a bid for Ben Chilwell.
The Leicester star is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United with City described as pondering their own approach.

At the very least, remaining in the mix could force their rivals – as the Eastlands club managed when Harry Maguire cost United £85million last summer.
City’s failure to capture a new central defender like Maguire was criticised throughout their failed title defence and Guardiola could be out to make up for lost time this summer.

    2

How City could line up next season
It is reported that Kalidou Koulibaly is a major target, rated by Napoli at upwards of £75million.
On top of that, a younger second signing may be made in the position to replace John Stones, were the England international to leave.

Among the names touted for City are Caglar Soyuncu, Nathan Ake, Benfica’s Ruben Dias, Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar, Borussia Dortmund’s Dan-Axel Zagadou and Pau Torres of Villarreal.
That would significantly bolster Guardiola’s options with the club said to be doubting Barcelona’s ability to launch a significant bid for Eric Garcia.
    FLYING WITHOUT WINGS
Leroy Sane and David Silva’s exits will also require attention in the summer market.
The club’s coffers were boosted by around £55m with the German’s move to Bayern Munich, and £389m arrived via private equity firm Silver Lake’s November investment.
Monday’s overturned ban should also make City at least £200m if they can go far in the Champions League in the coming seasons.
That should provide enough funds to sign a winger to replace Sane, with Kai Havertz revealed by SunSport to be a target amid rumours about Jack Grealish and Saul Niguez.

Reportedly rounding off the transfer spree could be another striker to complement Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
Out of contract in 12 months’ time, the Argentine forward has previously vowed to consider a move back to South America.
City may be tempted buy his replacement ahead of time to allow an adaptation period before the new man goes head-to-head with Jesus in 2021/22. More
