Cristiano Ronaldo ‘wants stunning transfer to Man City’ as Man Utd icon eyes Juventus exit with Harry Kane move stalling

CRISTIANO RONALDO is looking to ‘engineer’ a stunning move to Manchester City, reports in France have claimed. According to L’equipe, the former Manchester United forward has had his representatives contact Premier League champions City.

It comes amid speculation Ronaldo has asked to leave Juventus after three years in Italy.
He was left out of their Serie A opener against Udinese over the weekend, which ended 2-2.
Although the five-time Ballon d’Or winner did come on to score an injury-time winner – only for it to be disallowed by VAR.
Juve vice president Pavel Nedved attempted to play down the exclusion after the game.
Nedved said: “We are not going to try to create sensationalist stories when there are none.
“It was a decision we shared with the player. At the beginning of the season, he is naturally not at top form.”
Reports also linked Ronaldo with a move back to Real Madrid, from whom he joined Juve in a £99million deal.

But bizarrely, Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti personally tweeted to distance himself with signing the forward, who he managed from 2013-2015.
Ancelotti posted: “Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and he has all my love and respect. I have never considered signing him. We look forward.”
Ronaldo, 36, also looked to ease some of the speculation about his future on social media and appeared to commit himself to Juve.
He wrote: “As well as this most recent episode in Spain, there have been frequent news and stories associating me with a number of clubs in many different Leagues, with nobody ever being concerned about trying to find out the actual truth.
“I’m breaking my silence now to say that I can’t allow people to keep playing around with my name.
“I remain focused on my career and in my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges that I have to face. Everything else?
    “Everything else is just talk.”
Ronaldo’s full statement on his future Anyone who knows me is aware of how focused I am on my work. Less talk and more action, this has been my guiding motto since the start of my career.
However, in view of everything that’s been said and written recently, I have to set out my position
More than the disrespect for me as a man and as a player, the frivolous way that my future is covered in the media is disrespectful to all the clubs involved in these rumours, as well as to their players and staff.
My story at Real Madrid has been written. It’s been recorded. In words and numbers, in trophies and titles, in records and in headlines. It’s in the Museum at the Bernabeu Stadium and it’s also in the minds of every fan of the club.
And beyond what I achieved, I remember that in those nine years I had a relationship of deep affection and respect for “merengue afición”, an affection and respect that I retain to this day, and that I will always cherish.
I know that the true Real Madrid fans will continue to have me in their hearts, and I will have them in mine.
As well as this most recent episode in Spain, there have been frequent news and stories associating me with a number of clubs in many different Leagues, with nobody ever being concerned about trying to find out the actual truth.
I’m breaking my silence now to say that I can’t allow people to keep playing around with my name.
I remain focused on my career and in my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges that I have to face.
Everything else? Everything else is just talk.

Despite the statement, still Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Italy, and City are the latest side rumoured to be a potential suitor.
The English champions have spent the summer trying to sign England captain Harry Kane, 28, from Tottenham.
But Spurs appear unwilling to let their star man leave for anything less the £160m, despite the striker believing he had a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with chief Daniel Levy that he could go.
Reports now claim Ronaldo wants to capitalise on the situation and offer himself as a potential solution for City’s problems.
That is despite the six years he spent at Old Trafford having signed as an 18-year-old in 2003.
The report claims Ronaldo has even spoken to international team-mates about Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo about joining them at City.
City are not believed to be interested in a deal, even though the Portuguese superstar could come relatively cheaply, having only a year left on his Juve deal.
Kane is said to still want a move to the Etihad, but did make his return to Spurs’ squad in their 1-0 win over Wolves on the weekend.

Man City star Bernardo Silva wanted in £45m AC Milan transfer as Pep Guardiola looks to raise funds for Harry Kane swoop

AC MILAN are reportedly prepared to bring Manchester City star Bernardo Silva to Italy in a £45million deal.Pep Guardiola revealed earlier this month that the 27-year-old is keen to depart the Etihad after four trophy-laden years in England.
Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move to AC MilanCredit: Getty
After three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups, the Portuguese midfielder is claimed to be ready for a new challenge.
And City are open to parting ways with the former Monaco star in order to bring Tottenham striker Harry Kane to the club.
It had been reported that Silva was offered to Spurs as part of a deal to sign the England skipper, but the player rejected a move to the North Londoners.
Silva had been linked with a switch to Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, but that transfer appears to have collapsed.
The Daily Star have now declared that AC Milan are looking to lure the 2019 Nations League winner to Serie A.
They state that the Rossoneri want to sign Silva on an initial two-year loan for £15m, before paying a further £30m to make his stay permanent.
BETTING SPECIAL – GET ARSENAL AT 28/1 OR CHELSEA AT 8/1

And having joined City from Monaco for £43m in 2017, the Citizens would pocket £2m in profit should the sale go through.
City would then use that money to fund their move for Kane, who is valued at around £160m by Tottenham.
Silva, who was benched for the defeat against Spurs last week before starting in the 5-0 win over Norwich, isn’t assured of regular first-team football this term.
The £100m arrival of Jack Grealish has led him to become unsettled, with Silva already fighting Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden for a starting spot.
He may not be the only high-profile departure from the Etihad this month, with centre-back Aymeric Laporte a target for Real Madrid and Juventus.
And it has been reported that should a potential suitor stump up £60m, City would let the defender leave.

Man City super fan Gallagher told talkSPORT: “I think I speak for most Man City fans now when I say I’d rather the club wait for Haaland.
“Unless something’s gone on behind the scenes with Haaland, there’s talk of Bayern Munich now.
“We need a striker, that’s for sure, but if we couldn’t get Haaland, can we get Kane? Yes, because it’s not our money!
“It’s not my money, it’s not your money, it’s the Sheikh’s [City owner Sheikh Mansour] money, and he’s got loads of money, so let’s spend it!
“I kind of feel like £120m might do it for Kane.”
Man City have made no secret of their desire to land Tottenham and England star Kane.
The striker was not involved on Sunday as Spurs shocked the champions to claim a 1-0 home win.

Man City’s worst ever Premier League signings featuring Jerome Boateng, Jack Rodwell and Eliaquim Mangala

MANCHESTER CITY have invested over £1BILLION in the transfer market over the past decade so, naturally, there are going to be some flops. For every David Silva and Yaya Toure, there’s an Eliaquim Mangala or Jack Rodwell.
Three great signings out of four ain’t badCredit: EPA
Fortunately for current boss Pep Guardiola, most of the club’s most useless transfers came before the Spaniard brought them continued success.
Here, SunSport details the five WORST signings City have made in the Premier League era….
    Eliaquim Mangala – £42m (2014)
Mangala was strongly criticised by the media during his time at CityCredit: AFP or licensors
Joleon Lescott left the Etihad Stadium after Manuel Pellegrini’s side won the title and Mangala was heralded as a ready-made replacement.
The defender’s first two seasons saw the club drift away from the top of the table and he was often hammered for poor positioning and slow reactions.
A solid loan spell at Valencia earned Mangala momentary reprieve under Guardiola but, after 15 appearances, the new boss binned him off before serious injury struck in a 2018 spell with Everton.Jack Rodwell – £12m (2012)
Injuries curtailed Rodwell’s progressCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Rodwell was an up-and-coming star at Everton but became a symbol of City’s trigger-happy stockpiling when jumping ship at the age of 21.
There was a problem, however: City already had an excellent set of central midfielders.
Battling past Yaya Toure, James Milner, David Silva, Samir Nasri, Javi Garcia, Gareth Barry and Fernandinho was too much for Rodwell and he left after two years and just 25 appearances.

    Jerome Boateng – £10m (2010)
It is painful enough seeing a former player go on to great things but City didn’t even get close to utilising Boateng’s full potential.
Perhaps player and club were doomed from day one, the German tearing a tendon in his knee the week before the season began and aggravating it when a drinks trolley bashed it on a flight.
A year later, Boateng asked to head back home and was allowed to leave for Bayern Munich – going on to win a World Cup, a Champions League and seven Bundesliga titles.
    Jo – £19m (2008)
Jo arrived with a great record for CSKA MoscowCredit: Reuters
A top striker in Russia when snapped up by Mark Hughes, Jo struggled to say the least – scoring once in nine league outings before being moved on six months into his stay.
A brief upturn in form at Goodison Park gave the Citizens some hope of turning a profit… but a dismal 2009-10 season on Merseyside dropped him back at City.
Failing to take another chance the following season, Jo finally left to return to Brazil, having cost much more than Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta combined.Wilfried Bony – £25m (2015)
Bony was sent back to Swansea in 2016 but couldn’t find form there, eitherCredit: Getty Images – Getty
Ten goals in 46 games, only six of which came in the league, is a poor record for any striker, but for an expensive forward at a club aiming to win the title? Terrible.
The Prem top scorer for the calendar year of 2014, Bony initially couldn’t play for City due to African Cup of Nations duty and a summer bout of malaria came after a quiet start.
That stunted his hopes for the following year and the club learned their lesson, from then on turning their attention away from signing top players from smaller sides.

Bernardo Silva one of THREE Man City stars who wants to quit but club yet to receive transfer offer, says Guardiola

MANCHESTER CITY boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed Bernardo Silva is one of three players who want to quit the club. But the Premier League champions have yet to receive an offer for the players.

Guardiola said: “Not just Bernardo, there are two or three players that want to leave Man City but they are our players and when they bring some offer and they want to leave, we are open to discuss but it depends on them.”
Portugal midfielder Silva has expressed a desire to play in Spain and wants to leave Man City.
The club have splashed out on Jack Grealish after the £100million signing from Aston Villa.
And Grealish’s arrival is likely to affect Silva’s game time if he remained in England.
Silva made 26 appearances in the Premier League last season and started in the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea.
The 26-year-old also made four appearances for Portugal this summer at Euro 2020 as his side were knocked out in the second round.

BETTING SPECIAL – GET LEICESTER AT 60/1 OR MAN CITY AT 30/1

But the former Monaco attacker appears to have his heart set on a move to Spain.
Silva has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid and Man City are waiting an offer for him.
If Silva does leave it could help the club finance their bid to sign England captain Harry Kane.

Jack Grealish ‘arrives in Manchester’ to seal £100m Man City transfer with Villa star to become Prem record signing

SunSport understands a deal is imminent with an announcement expected this week.
TalkSPORT claim that Grealish is now in Manchester to put the finishing touches to the deal.
Meanwhile the Daily Mail says the Aston Villa captain is set to complete his move TODAY.
It would surpass the £89m fee Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba in 2016.
Grealish had been on holiday in Mykonos and Dubrovnik following his heroics at the European Championships for England.
And though it is believed he was pushing to move to City, the playmaker returned to Villa training on Monday.
It is claimed Grealish held talks with sporting director Johan Lange, where he made it clear of his desire to join the Pep Guardiola’s side.
Villa have already announced the £30m signing of Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, 23, in a sign they are set to rebuild.
And reports have also linked them with Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, 23, and Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe, 23.
