His supreme talent has seen him dubbed the ‘Salford Silva’ for his likeness to Man City legend David Silva.
But it remains to be seen whether or not McAtee will be able to ply his trade in Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Red Devils have a history with McAtee as he was a part of their set-up as a young boy.

Yet his contract with Man City continues to tick down and he now has just 18 months left on his current deal.

Arsenal join Raheem Sterling transfer race along with Liverpool and Barcelona with winger open to Man City exit

And the Gunners have joined the race for his signature with Liverpool, according to the Express.
The North Londoners were said to be keen on the England man in the summer but nothing came to fruition.
They are currently using Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe in the wide positions to reasonable effect but Sterling would add much needed depth with Nicolas Pepe often coming off the bench to have minimal impact.
England ace Sterling says playing abroad is still something that appeals to him amid reported interest from Barcelona and Liverpool.
SunSport revealed on Tuesday the former Anfield man, 26, has put contract talks on hold at the Etihad after a difficult few months.
Sterling has less than two years left on his existing deal and wants to know how much he will play before committing to a new one.

He has featured 10 times for City this season but for a grand total of just 461 minutes.
The star is happy to adapt to playing as a striker for City, rather than his normal left-wing role — but needs game time to improve in that position.
Three-time Prem title winner Sterling said: “If there was the option to go somewhere else for more game time, I would be open to it.
“Football is the most important thing to me — challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well.
“As an English player, all I know is the Premier League.
“I’ve always thought maybe one day I’d love to play abroad — see how I would come up against that challenge.
“I actually should be learning a few different languages. I quite like the French accent and Spanish.”

Barca are monitoring his situation and could make a move in January, although Etihad sources indicate the club will not sanction a move mid- season.
Sterling is believed to have spoken with boss Pep Guardiola over his status at City but has generally kept his head down and focused on football.

Despite losing his place in the team, his attitude and professionalism have impressed club staff.
And he told FT Live: “I’m not a person that’s going to complain. I’ve not tried to make it a bigger deal than it actually is.
“I get on with my work, do what I need to do. And I’m just raring to go — playing matches regularly, score goals regularly.”

As the battle hots up for Borussia Dortmund’s superstar striker, he said: “If they need me to talk to Alf, I’ll do what I can.
“He’d be an exceptional buy as he’s young, his scoring record in Europe is phenomenal and I think he’d adjust to the Premier League easily.”
Haaland, 21, has a clause in his contract that means he can leave for £65million next summer.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has the Norwegian ace top of his hit-list having failed to sign Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.
He also lost out to Manchester United in the race for Cristiano Ronaldo.
And ex-striker Goater, 51, added:  “If you’re talking £65m, you are getting a real good deal.

“He played against City in the Champions League last season and his pace was frightening. Wow.
“I hope City are strongly looking at him with Kane and Ronaldo in the past.”
Haaland netted 48 goals in 51 games for club and country last season — and already boasts 11 in eight in the 2021-22 campaign for the German giants.
But Goater reckons Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is another great option for City.

“Mbappe can play wide and up the middle. They would be great signings.”

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel reveals he expected Tottenham striker Harry Kane to seal Man City transfer in the summer

CHELSEA manager Thomas Tuchel admits he thought Tottenham superstar Harry Kane would join Manchester City in the summer.Kane announced his desire to leave Spurs in May when City tried to capitalise, but they were unable to meet the asking price.

Tottenham star Harry Kane stayed despite Manchester City’s intense interest
Reports suggested the Blues were also linked with the England captain but Tuchel insists that wasn’t the case and Romelu Lukaku was always his top target.
Speaking about Kane’s proposed move to Man City, the German manager admitted: “I thought that this would happen.”
“We never had a list with his name on it and I never went to Marina Granovskaia to tell her to buy him.
“But the club sorted out the situation. There are many people around players, their agents and advisors and people in between and we had some information from these people.
“But it was never that close that we had to experience the rivalry [between Tottenham and Chelsea].
“We know about the rivalry but I had a feeling that it was never that far.”

Tuchel, though, insists that he wouldn’t have feared City any more with Kane in their squad during the Premier League title chase.
But the former Borussia Dortmund boss admits he was pleased with the 28-year-old proving to be a one-club man.
Tuchel added: “No, I was not scared, but if it would have happened, I would have been very interested in how maybe it would have changed Manchester City’s style of playing.
“We are not afraid of anyone. We accept any team and Manchester City, Man United and Liverpool, they are the teams strong like no other in this league and they have strong squads.
“These are the guys with whom we want to compete and it’s normal that they fight for the best players and I thought this is maybe going to happen.

“On one side I was happy that he stayed because it is also nice that it exists in football that players play for one club only.
“Harry Kane is Tottenham and even for me – I have absolutely nothing to do with Tottenham, I have never worked for them – when I think about Tottenham in the last decade you think about Harry Kane and this is very nice.
“Like you think about [Lionel] Messi and straight away you think about Barcelona and it is very hard to think that he plays for another club now, and that’s the same for Harry Kane.
“So, from this side, I was happy because I like it and a part of my personality is still a fan and I like that things like this happen.
“It is also nice that Romelu Lukaku is back at Chelsea and some things are a good fit and should not be changed.”

Man City ready to fight rivals Man Utd for £100million West Ham star Declan Rice as replacement for Fernandinho

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to fight Manchester United in the battle for Declan Rice next summer.United have earmarked West Ham star Rice as a priority target in 2022 — even though he is valued at around £100million by the London club.
Declan Rice is attracting interest from both Manchester City and UnitedCredit: Getty
But though the Old Trafford club feel they are in a strong position to capture the England midfielder, neighbours City have other ideas.
They have been tracking the 22-year-old ever since he first made the breakthrough into the West Ham first team as a promising young central defender.
And the manner in which his game has developed in midfield, culminating in his impressive displays for the Three Lions in Euro 2022, have not gone unnoticed at the Etihad Stadium.
City have been able to delay making any moves for a new player at the base of their midfield while Fernandinho has been able to extend his playing career as understudy to Rodri.
But the Brazilian is unlikely to remain past the end of the season, by when he will have turned 37, and the defending champions know they will have to bring in a new face next summer.
The rise of Rice as a talent not just in the Premier League, but now also on the international stage, has meant he is high on their list of players who they think would strengthen the squad at City.

And any fee West Ham demand would not be beyond reach, particularly because he is so young and would be seen as being a sound investment spread over the long term.
That would be a problem for United, where the technical department of John Murtagh and Darren Fletcher have earmarked Rice as the player who could take the club on to the next level.
They are aware of the need for a top class deep-lying midfielder at Old Trafford, and felt the path to getting Rice had been left wide open for them by Chelsea.
The Blues decided to bring in Saul Niguez on loan this season with the option of making the move permanent with Atletico Madrid next year – and it is felt this has meant they are no longer keen on bringing back the player they released as a 14-year-old.

West Ham are relaxed about Rice’s future in the knowledge he still has three years left to run on his existing deal, though they have seen two new contract offers knocked back by the player.
Rice himself remains happy at the London Stadium, particularly with Europa League football this season – but there may come a point when he naturally outgrows the ambitions of the club.
And to have the two Manchester clubs battling it out for his signature would see the Hammers able to hold out for the highest price, which would ease much of the disappointment of seeing their captain leave.

Barcelona’s ‘new Messi’ Ansu Fati offered to Man City and other European giants in shock transfer

According to Spanish outlet ElNacional.cat, Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes wants Barcelona to give the 18-year-old a new deal.
Fati has just one year remaining on his existing Barca contract and Mendes, who also represents Cristiano Ronaldo, wants his future resolved.
Mendes is reportedly offering the forward to clubs around Europe to ‘scare’ the Catalan giants into giving him an extension on improved terms.
City are thought to be one of those teams but manager Pep Guardiola is reluctant to take Barca’s best prospect from the cash-strapped club.
The Catalan giants, who were forced to release Lionel Messi in the summer, are thought to be £1BILLION in debt after severe mismanagement.
Guardiola has reportedly asked City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain not to enter negotiations with Mendes to help Barca.

But that won’t stop other big clubs from sneaking in and signing one of the hottest prospects in Europe, if the rumours are to be believed.
Fati is widely regarded as the future of Barcelona and was recently given Messi’s famous No10 shirt by the club.
The teenager broke into the team in August 2019 and went on to score seven goals in 24 LaLiga appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
Fati was subsequently handed his international debut by Spain manager Luis Enrique, picking up four senior caps to date.
But a serious knee injury has kept him out of action since last November and it’s unclear when he will make his Barca return.

He signed a seven-year contract in May 2018 but has now committed his future to the club for at least the next five years.
The Brazilian becomes the fifth City player to commit his future to the club – following Kevin de Bruyne, Ruben Dias, John Stones and Fernandinho.
Ederson said: “This was an easy decision for me. There is nowhere else I’d want to be.

Cristiano Ronaldo camp step up efforts to seal shock Man City transfer after Pep Guardiola’s Harry Kane frustration

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S camp will step up their efforts to get him a move to Manchester City this week. The champions saw their hopes of landing England captain Harry Kane finally dashed on Wednesday.

And the United legend will hope it could open the door for him to make a sensational return to Manchester.
Ronaldo, 36, is looking to engineer a move out of Juventus before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
City have been cool on the prospect of signing him since reports first surfaced earlier this month and that remains the case.
But Pep Guardiola is now faced with continuing a busy season without replacing all-time record goalscorer Sergio Aguero.
So it will be up to Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to put forward a proposal which would tempt the City hierarchy to change their minds.
City made no secret of their wish to land Kane – and were convinced he wanted to come and join them.

That would normally be enough to see a deal get done and personal terms would not have been a problem.
But the champions have shown in the past they will not be held to ransom.
They walked away from moves for Harry Maguire, Jorginho and Alexis Sanchez because in the end they did not feel they were getting good value.

And there was no way they were going to pay north of £150 million for a 28-year-old – no matter how good he is.
With Daniel Levy unwilling to negotiate, it became clear in recent days they were not going to hit a figure that suited both parties.
Even up until Tuesday night, there was hope at City that the Spurs chairman would be willing to negotiate – yet he did not come to the table.

So Kane’s announcement on Wednesday lunchtime that he would be staying at Tottenham finally drew a line under the big transfer saga of the summer.
City sources now expect £100m record buy Jack Grealish will be the only addition to the squad in the current transfer window.
And Guardiola said on Saturday he will not moan if that turns out to be the case.
