But the magnitude of signing a player of the status and style of England ace Sterling from a major rival is a huge statement of intent from within Stamford Bridge.
It displays a tactical shift from head coach Tuchel but also suggests that under the new ownership led by Todd Boehly, Chelsea are ready to be bullies in the transfer market once more.

ERLING HAALAND’s £172million Manchester City release clause will fall to £150m in 2025 IF he hits specific targets, it has been revealed.The Norwegian superstar joined the Premier League champions this summer thanks to a savvy £51m release clause allowing him to leave Borussia Dortmund.

Starting in the summer of 2024, Haaland can be bought for a record £172m.
That fee could drop to just £150m based on whether he hits specific targets.

Real paying a high fee for the striker wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
