MANCHESTER CITY fans are celebrating transfer news once again after Scott Carson extended his stay at the club.The goalkeeper, 36, has signed a new one-year deal a day after Erling Haaland’s arrival was announced by the club.

Pep Guardiola approved the extension for Carson who signed in 2019.
The former West Brom and Derby County stopper has made just two appearances for the Citizens but has still achieved cult hero status at the club.
Carson likely gained popularity for his celebrations after City’s title victory, as well as his bravery in calling out Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko for a fight.
Many supporters are delighted he will remain at the club for another season and have expressed their excitement on social media.

Opening up about the meeting in his first Man City interview, Haaland said: “He told me to come to City and he was right about that!
“We talked and he said some good things about the club.”

Haaland was officially unveiled as Man City’s first signing of the summer on Monday morning – 19 years after his father Alf-Inge left the club.

Haaland, whose dad Alf Inge played for the club from 2000 to 2003, has not had his move officially confirmed yet.
That’s despite City announcing a deal is in place with Borussia Dortmund last month.
Pep Guardiola pounced for Haaland after failing to replace Sergio Aguero last summer.

City’s top target back then was Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Guardiola revealed City had FOUR bids rejected by Daniel Levy.
That’s despite the final one reportedly topping £125m.
But City are sure to be delighted at paying less than half that sum for a striker already considered one of the world’s best.

Despite his young age, Haaland netted an incredible 86 goals in just 89 games at Dortmund.
Before that, he scored 29 times in 27 games at RB Salzburg.
And Haaland also has 18 international goals in 20 caps for Norway.
His arrival at the Etihad is set to spell the end of Guardiola’s ‘false nine’ experiment.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling were all given chances to lead the line.
It certainly allowed City to play their typically fluid football.
But Guardiola hopes the presence of Haaland means his side stick away more chances than usual.
