Full-back Larios was on Barcelona’s book as a youth player but joined City in 2020.
He played for the Premier League champions at Under-19 and 21 level but leaves without making a first-team appearance.
Larios said: “I’m so happy to be here in Southampton. I’m really looking forward to starting with the team.”
Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl added: “Juan is a talented young player who has shown he has the technical qualities and personality to improve our team.

“This is a positive step in continuing our way of signing young and hungry players with a desire to get better with us.
“We hope to be able to give Juan the opportunity to play Premier League football, and his adaptability in being able to play in different positions can definitely help us this season and in the future.”
Larios was swiftly joined by winger Edozie, an England U-19 representative who also leaves without making his City first-team debut.
But he said: “I’m very excited. It’s a great club – a club that likes to play young players, so it’s a very attractive club to come to.

“I used to play with Romeo [Lavia] and Gavin [Bazunu], and they’ve both played a lot, so it’s definitely something at my age in my career that I just want to play as much first-team football as possible. “If I’ve got a chance of that here then it’s a great opportunity.”
Hasenhuttl said: “Samuel is another promising young player who brings good attacking qualities to us, and he is someone who fits very well with our philosophy.
“He is a quick player who has impressive technical ability, so he will be able to help our squad immediately, but we also see a lot of potential in him for the future.
“This is a good opportunity for him, and I know he is excited about the chance to come here and improve.”

However that fell through and the 19-year-old – who has made just one senior appearance for Pep Guardiola’s men – is now set for a switch to St Mary’s.
He could be joined by Spaniard Larios, 18, who signed for City from Barcelona two years ago.

Southampton picked up their second win of the season following a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
Lavia thundered home an effort to draw Southampton level against Chelsea just minutes after conceding.

Pep Guardiola has four senior centre backs on his books in Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte.
However their start to their title defence has been hit by injuries to Ake and Laporte and goals have been going in at an alarming rate.
City conceded three in the Community Shield against Liverpool and also three at Newcastle earlier this month.
They also shipped three in their friendly at Barcelona last week and found themselves two goals behind at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

While Guardiola’s team have the attacking quality to get themselves out of trouble, he has warned they will come unstuck if it keeps happening.
Even so Pep gave little indication anything was imminent in his press conference ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Nottingham Forest.
Asked if they were finished for this transfer window, he said: “I don’t know what will happen.”
Akanji has been linked with a move to Inter but City have swooped and now look set to land their man.

PSG ready to take on Barcelona in last-gasp transfer battle for Bernardo Silva as Man City star eyes Etihad exit

But it was PSG who had a £59million bid rejected for Silva by City this week, report Sky Sports.
Despite the setback, PSG still hope to complete a deal, though they believe it could be too late with the window closing on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.
Barcelona are also tracking Silva and were believed to be prepared to sell three players in order to fund a move – including Chelsea transfer target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
City value Silva highly and Pep Guardiola hinted that his sale is unlikely because finding a replacement in under a week would prove difficult.

That is despite their £104m summer outlay being one of their lowest in recent years.
But the Etihad boss has been reassured major funds will be available if he wants reinforcements in the next window.
City have brought in Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez and Julian Alvarez over the past couple of months.
But they have banked close to £250m in sales since January after a string of departures, including Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleks Zinchenko.

Pep now has a core group of just 18 senior players.
And although he has called on academy whizkids like Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis, the Spaniard could be left light if this season’s squeezed calendar take its toll.
SunSport exclusively revealed earlier in the week how Palmer is being chased by Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan.
But Guardiola is reluctant to send out the highly-rated England Under-21 star, who can operate on either wing or as a No 10.

Following last week’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle, City were involved in another six-goal thriller when they faced Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Eagles went into the break 2-0 up, but turned the game around in the second half to win 4-2.
Bernardo Silva pulled a goal back in the 53rd minute, before Erling Haaland bagged a hat-trick to bring his tally to six goals in the Premier League.
Guardiola declared after the match that Haaland was born to score goal, as he said: “Erling has done [what he has done] since he was born.
“He has done what he has done all his life, in Salzburg and everywhere he has been he has scored goals.
“Against these type of teams, we struggle because they defend so deep, but he has an incredible sense of goal.
“The three (he scored), especially the last one, but the first one as well, were all good goals.
“The numbers for this guy are beyond. The most important thing is that he has settled perfectly, and he is an incredibly humble guy.

Man City star Cole Palmer wanted on season-long loan transfer by Dortmund… but Pep Guardiola doesn’t want to lose him

COLE PALMER is wanted on a season-long loan by German giants Borussia Dortmund.Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has always been reluctant to send out the highly-rated England Under-21 star, who can operate on either wing or as a No 10.

But Dortmund – drawn in the same Champions League group as City – are one of several European clubs who have enquired about Palmer, 20, and are keen to strike a deal before next week’s deadline.
Guardiola has stated that Palmer is part of his first-team squad but he has only made one Premier League start to date – against Everton last term – and has only had two minutes off the bench in City’s first three matches of the new campaign.
There are suggestions that a loan move could now benefit Palmer, who needs more first-team game time, although boss Guardiola does not want to lose him.
Palmer, 20, netted for City in the Champions League group stage last year but suffered an injury which sidelined him for three months late last season.

Dortmund have a track record of signing young English talent, with Jude Bellingham a key player at the club and Jadon Sancho a major star at the Westfalenstadion before his switch to Manchester United and they are now eyeing Palmer.
Palmer – who scored in City’s 3-3 friendly draw with Barcelona on Wednesday – enjoyed a breakthrough season in the 21/22 campaign, making four Premier League appearances and also featuring in the Champions League.
Guardiola is a big fan of the youngster, who could very well play a big role in the starting XI if Riyad Mahrez leaves the club next summer.
He said of Palmer last year: “Cole has this special quality in front of the box, this talent that is difficult to find.

“When he has the ball there most of the time it finishes in the net, and it is not easy to find that.”
Speaking after Palmer’s first goal for the club last year, Guardiola insisted he wouldn’t rush Palmer’s progression.
He said: “Let’s be calm, be patient, like we have done with Phil [Foden].
“The people in this world want things immediately.

The 28-year-old still has three years left on his contract that keeps him at Man City.
The midfielder would cost Barcelona £80million, which they are struggling to whip up due to their financial turmoil.
Silva featured in the friendly against Barcelona last night, which took place at Nou Camp.
The match ended in a 3-3 draw, thanks to a controversial penalty earned by Erling Haaland, who was accused by Barca fans of diving.
