Thierry Henry breaks down big mistake Erling Haaland is making at Man City as he says ‘he doesn’t help the team’

ARSENAL legend Thierry Henry has offered Erling Haaland some pointers on how he can improve.Haaland, 22, signed for Manchester City in the summer and has scored 31 goals in 29 games in all competitions already.
“It’s not always about goals, it’s about what you can bring for the team.”Thierry Henry reveals how Arsene Wenger influenced him and why Erling Haaland is tough to stop but predictable. 👀 pic.twitter.com/V6jnqfaYKr— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) February 14, 2023

Despite his outrageous form, he has come under scrutiny from some for how isolated he can be in matches.
Premier League and Arsenal legend Henry has revealed how the Norwegian can improve, with the Frenchman revealing the advice was a special pointer from Arsene Wenger during his own career.
Speaking on CBS Sports Golazo’s coverage of the Champions League, Henry said: “We all know [if] you put the ball in the box, you feed him, you are dead.
“In the air, on the ground, whatever it is he [Haaland] will score.

“But there is one piece of advice that Arsene Wenger gave me when I was playing: ‘What can you do when your team is not feeding you?’
“We all know when Kevin De Bruyne has the ball, Kevin can find him in any way, so Arsene told me: ‘Ask yourself the right question, do you think Dennis Bergkamp can give you the ball the same way Freddie Ljungberg does?'”
Henry went on to detail how the players around him such as Robert Pires and Ljungberg liked to play and how he could complement them with his runs.
He then added: “I thought how can I enhance the skills of a player instead of showing his weaknesses.

“So for example, Kevin [De Bruyne] you can make that [far post run] but maybe Bernardo Silva likes a one-two.
“I think sometimes Haaland is making the same run whoever is on the ball… and sometimes he doesn’t help the team in terms of who is on the ball.”
Haaland was a doubt for Man City’s top of the table clash against Arsenal this evening but has recovered in time to be in the squad.
However, Thomas Partey is set to miss the game after picking up a muscular injury.
It is set to see Jorginho come into the starting XI make his full debut.
Henry was also flabbergasted after learning how much fellow CBS pundit Micah Richards spends on his hair. More

The Premier League’s top scorer was subbed at half-time during Sunday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa after getting a kick on the leg.
Boss Pep Guardiola said afterwards he would wait to see if the £51.4million striker could join the squad heading to the capital for the bumper match.
And the signs are positive that the 31-goal star will be leading the line for the reigning champions as Haaland was among the players pictured leaving Manchester at the train station earlier.
The return to London comes just nine days after Guardiola moaned about City’s “exhausting” trip to the capital after they suffered defeat at Tottenham.

The City boss compared his team’s 200-mile journey south as like travelling to the continent.
He said: “Coming to London is like going to northern Europe.
“It is four-and-a-half hours to get to a hotel.
“It’s so exhausting to come to London, I’m sorry.”

Meanwhile, Norwegian Haaland has not found the net in his last three starts for City and his last away goal was way back on December 28 at Leeds.
He passed up the chance to take a penalty against Villa – allowing Riyad Mahrez to take it instead – and also showed his quality by teeing up a goal for Ilkay Gundogan.
But Guardiola has already vowed Haaland will only take part if totally fit.
If Haaland does miss out, Guardiola could start with Argentina frontman Julian Alvarez – using Jack Grealish and Mahrez out wide behind him.

Zinchenko’s incredible F-word dressing room rant to fire Man City to title resurfaces ahead of Arsenal clash

AN INCREDIBLE dressing-room rant from Oleksandr Zinchenko that helped fire Manchester City to last season’s title has resurfaced ahead of Arsenal’s clash with the champions. The Ukrainian defender, 26, left the Etihad last summer to join Mikel Arteta’s side in a £32million deal.

Zinchenko spent six years at City following his £1.7m switch from Ufa, racking up 128 appearances.
He won four Premier League titles in that time, including in the last two seasons, as well as the FA Cup and four League Cups.
The ace also played in the 2021 Champions League final as City lost to Chelsea.
Now he is riding high with top of the table Arsenal, although that could all change this evening.

The Gunners face City at the Emirates three points clear at the summit, however, a defeat would see the holders overtake them via goal difference.
But if there are any nerves within the Arsenal camp then you can be sure that the left-back will be the one to get them fired up, judging by this latest clip of him in action.
The footage was shot last season while he was still at City inside their dressing-room ahead of the crunch May 8 showdown with Newcastle.
Pep Guardiola’s men had just been dumped out of the Champions League days before in the semi-final by Real Madrid and were neck-and-neck with Liverpool in the title fight going into the last fortnight of the campaign.

But as a pre-match huddle formed, it was Zinchenko that stood centre stage as he aggressively addressed his team-mates and jabbed his finger at them while delivering an inspirational expletive-lidden motivational talk.
He blasted: “Forget what happened in the past. This is gone, over. Forget!
“Just look at each other, give everything and die on the pitch. Everyone knows what they have to do on the pitch.
“We f***ing fight for something massive and incredible. We need to be ready to become legends. All of you. We go there and we f***ing die there.”
Zinchenko’s rant certainly did the trick as City thumped Newcastle 5-0 and were crowned champions two weeks later.
Now Gooners will be hoping he can inspire their troops this evening against his old club in the mega showdown.

Arsenal vs Man City combined XI based on transfer fees shows major difference between the two title contenders

A COMBINED team of Manchester City and Arsenal based on which players cost more to sign shows a chasm between the title contenders. The two Premier League toppers face off at the Emirates on Wednesday evening in a game that could be massive in terms of the title race.

£100m Jack Grealish is the most expensive player in the teamCredit: Getty
Both sides are likely to make minimal changes to their starting XIs after the weekend’s matches.
Pep Guardiola will be happy with his team following the 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
The boss will also be boosted as Erling Haaland returned to training ahead of the match against Arsenal after he picked up a knock against the Villans.
Mikel Arteta could swap out the struggling Gabriel Martinelli for Leandro Trossard after he netted his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw against Brentford.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
If a combined team were to be assembled with only the most expensive player in each position, the side would cost £611.3million.
The most expensive player on the pitch is likely to be Jack Grealish who set the Citizens back £100m when they signed him from Villa.
In fact, in a side made up of both sides based on transfer fees, there would only be two Arsenal players involved.
Oleksandr Zincenko would take up the left-back spot after he joined the Gunners from City last summer for £32m.

And Thomas Partey would partner City’s Rodri in holding midfielder as Arsenal paid £45m for him.
The rest of the team would be made up of players from the Etihad Stadium outfit.
Ederson at £34.9m was slightly more expensive than Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale who cost £30m when he joined from Sheffield United.
The defence would see Aymeric Laporte (£57m), Ruben Dias (£64.5m) and Kyle Walker (£50m) join Zinchenko.
Ben White could have had a spot in the team as he cost £50m, but Walker was chosen as his transfer happened first.
The attack is made up entirely of players from City with Riyad Mahrez (£60m), Kevin De Bruyne (£54m), Jack Grealish (£100m) and Erling Haaland (£51.4m) all more expensive than Arsenal’s options.
Arsenal star boy Bukayo Saka is not under consideration as the club did not pay a fee for their academy player.
The combined team shows a major difference between the two club’s philosophies as City have spent much more to assemble their title-contending team – whereas Arsenal – while spending big – have also brought through some kids and uncovered cheaper gems. More

He then went to ground after making contact with Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey and subsequently won a penalty, which was converted by Riyad Mahrez.
Many Aston Villa fans were left furious with the decision and accused Grealish, who spent nine years at Villa Park before joining Man City in 2021, of diving.
But Keane begrudgingly praised the City star for being smart with his movement.
He told Sky Sports: “You have to give the penalty, Jack was being very, very smart. Very naïve the defending from Ramsay but he does kind of catch him.

“Jack kicks himself more than anything else. He’s more like Tom Daley but I think it is a penalty and it’s clever from Jack.
“He gets his body across, he knows exactly what he is doing – gives the referee almost no option but to give the penalty.”
City went on to win the game 3-1 thanks to goals from Mahrez, Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan.

“Hopefully he can play there on Wednesday. If he’s not ready or it’s a risk he’s not going to play.” More
