      Grealish goes into the Euro 2024 qualifiers, starting with tomorrow’s big clash against Italy in Naples, in the best form of his career.
      The ex-Aston Villa midfielder has been box office after the World Cup, which included a pre-Christmas trip to the United States where he visited all the filming spots of the 1992 film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
      Grealish is a fan of Macaulay Culkin who rose to fame as Kevin McCallister and the £100million star even stayed in the Plaza Hotel hotel where the film was set.
      He said: “It was a little bucket-list moment for me.

      “I stayed in the hotel and you could get some mad room service, like 16 scoops of ice cream — like what he got in the film. I’ve got an addictive kind of personality!
      “I love that film, man. Someone had told me about the tour so we went round Central Park. I felt like a right little tourist.
      “I was in the back of a horse-drawn carriage thing and every now and again someone would say: ‘I swear that’s Jack Grealish’. I was saying: ‘Mate! Quick! Speed up!’
      “It was good to have a few days off. It was difficult going out of the World Cup. I thought we played so well in the whole of the tournament.

      “People who I play with, who were there with other countries, told me they thought we were going to win it, which is a credit to us.
      “Going out in the quarter-finals in the way we did, it was a game we could have won. So obviously it wasn’t the best.”
      And after his mountain of ice cream, Grealish was shocked to be called into action again so soon after the break by Pep Guardiola at City.
      He said: “The manager gave us eight or nine days off.
      “I didn’t actually do a lot of running or anything because I just felt I needed a little break.
      I thought, ‘There’s no chance I’ll be involved’. Then in the f***ing 70th minute Pep Guardiola tells me, ‘Jack, you’re going on’. I was like, ‘F***ing hell!’ because I was blowing out of my arse!Jack Grealish
      “We went to New York and then I went back into training on the Wednesday and we were playing Liverpool on the Thursday in the Carabao Cup on December 22.
      “I thought, ‘There’s no chance I’ll be involved’. Then in the f***ing 70th minute Pep Guardiola tells me, ‘Jack, you’re going on’. I was like, ‘F***ing hell!’ because I was blowing out of my arse!
      “Luckily we went on to win. I just didn’t think I’d be involved.”
      City beat Liverpool 3-2 in that cup match and since then, Grealish has clearly grown as a player.
      But he wants to contribute even more for England.
      He made five sub appearances in Qatar but did not start a game.
      And Grealish is hoping England can finally deliver  at a major tournament.

      Tomorrow, they face Italy, who beat them on penalties in the final of Euro 2020.
      Grealish, 27, said: “We have come close so many times.
      “The last three tournaments have been a semi-final, a final and then the quarters.
      “It is obvious what we want to do and  we are getting better and better. The players are coming through and playing with so much confidence.
      “I feel like the next one really could be our one.
      “Everyone will be in their prime. I actually feel old at the moment but, when I think about it, I will only be 28 at the Euros.
      “It’s no secret we all want to win a tournament — and I do think it is there to be done.”
      Grealish has played 45 games in all competitions for club and country this season — making 28 starts for City.
      He said: “I was speaking to Rio Ferdinand and he asked me, ‘Are  you doing anything different?’ ‘I’m actually not’, I said.
      “I genuinely can’t put my finger  on what it is. I feel I am in the best form, especially since I moved to City.  
      “If you were to ask me one thing I probably would say confidence. At the moment, I just feel a bit like I did when I was at Aston Villa.
      “I feel like one of the main players, it is the fittest I have been, especially since I have been at Man City.
      “That comes down to playing a lot of games on the bounce and playing in big games.

      The Athletic claim that many top sides are monitoring him and “fierce competition” is developing for his signature.
      Man City are supposedly the first to bid for him, putting in an offer of £10m with an additional £2m in add-ons.
      The centre-back works with prominent agent Pini Zahavi.
      Vuskovic plays for Hajduk Split in his homeland of Croatia.

      He was recently promoted to the Hajduk Split first-team and has since played five times, netting one goal.

      CHELSEA and Newcastle are keeping an eye on former Manchester City forward Brahim Diaz.The Premier League pair have been made aware Real Madrid star Diaz, currently in his third season on loan at AC Milan, could become available in the summer.

      Diaz, 23, had four years at City without breaking into the first team and moved to Real in 2019.
      He was part of the Milan side that won the Serie A title last season.
      Diaz hit the only goal in the last-16 Champions League win over Spurs.
      Milan have an option to buy the Spain striker for £19.5million at the end of his loan — but Real also have a buy-back clause worth £24m if he were to make a permanent move.

      Meanwhile, SunSport revealed Chelsea are ready to back N’Golo Kante despite his injury record as he closes in on a new deal.
      But the French midfielder is poised to sign a two-year contract with the option of a third.

      And he needed hamstring surgery during the World Cup while his France team-mates went all the way to the final in Qatar.

      Two minutes later the Norwegian was in again, Peacock-Farrell was beaten again, and City were in the FA Cup semi-finals….again.
      This time the creation was a little more crafted, Kevin De Bruyne setting Phil Foden free down the left with a slide rule ball inside Connor Roberts.
      Foden looked up, took aim and delivered the perfect low cross which Haaland met at just the right time to sidefoot in from close range.

      Game over, then, before half-time. Incredibly after Burnley looked to have done the donkey work of weathering an early storm. That worked out well, then.
      Before they knew it Haaland was completing his sixth hat-trick of the season, taking his tally to EIGHT in two games, and bagging yet another match ball.
      Again Foden was the creator, this time with a fizzing low drive which struck the upright and was clinically dispatched by the Norwegian’s one-touch finish.
      As if to prove that the quickfire first half one-two was no one-off, City then produced another to make it four.
      Riyad Mahrez and De Bruyne were the architects and Alverez the finisher, smashing into an empty net with the Clarets cracked wide open.
      Time, then, for Haaland to take a break. Not a bad week’s work, all told, to go with the five Champions League goals he helped himself to against Leipzig on Tuesday.
      And to think they all scoffed when it was first suggested he could reach 50 in his first season in England.
      Last night’s nap hand has left him on 42 already. The way it’s going, he’ll be disappointed if his eventual haul stops at “just” half a century.
      City certainly didn’t stop with his departure, mind, and Cole Palmer – the man who came on for Haaland – got in on the act by volleying into an empty net.

      Mitoma, who delayed signing a professional contract in his homeland with Kawasaki Frontale at 19 to instead go to university and wrote a thesis on dribbling, arrived on the South Coast for a fee of just £2.7m in 2021.
      Now his displays have seen his valuation rocket to around £35m with a host of clubs keen to snap him up.
      Arsenal have held an interest since January in Mitoma.

      This came as Guardiola tweaked his system after questioning his players’ hunger to win the Premier League again.
      With Cancelo’s and the City boss’ relationship becoming strained, the club took the bold decision to allow Cancelo to leave on loan.
      The Portuguese international started life at Bayern in impressive fashion and already has one goal and four assists from his eight appearances.

      However, it has now emerged that the star is growing frustrated after being benched by the Bundesliga side’s boss Julian Nagelsmann.

      Under his latest Instagram post Bellingham commented: “He’s changed,” while tagging his Dortmund pal Gio Reyna.
      Grealish quickly seized on the midfielder saying: “Come to City xx.”

      The winger is a huge fan of Bellingham, describing him as “scary” after he was named man of the match for England in a game against Ivory Coast last year.

      The Birmingham pair appear to get on well and could be a match made in heaven at The Etihad.
