Jadon Sancho refuses to rule out Man Utd transfer despite club missing deadline and Dortmund insisting on £108m fee

JADON SANCHO has refused to rule out a move to Manchester United despite the club missing the deadline set by Borussia Dortmund.
The Old Trafford giants missed out on Sancho after failing to agree on a transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund before their August 10 deadline.

United had hoped to pay around £60million to £70m up front, paying the rest of the total £108m fee in instalments.
Dortmund, however, insisted on the full fee in one chunk.
Unwilling to compromise, Man Utd officials saw the August 10 deadline come and go, with Sancho, 20, now well into his pre-season regime.
But Sancho – who is now expected to stay in Germany for another season – hasn’t ruled out a move.

When grilled about what the future holds, Sancho told SoccerBible: “It would be easy to get carried away with [the transfer speculation].
    “It can affect players.
“For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch… especially in training.
“For me it’s about improving every single day.

“It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy.
“I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff.
“I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day.”

The cryptic reply will give Man Utd fans hope after it was recently reported Sancho had told his Dortmund team-mates he would stay for one more season.
According to the Telegraph, he has told his team-mates he is in no rush to move and a switch next summer is looking increasingly likely.
Meanwhile, the Athletic claim owner Joel Glazer is preventing the deal being done because he has reservations about major spending in the current climate.
Such a position has led to United looking at Bournemouth’s David Brooks and Juventus star Douglas Costa as cheaper alternatives.

Man Utd ‘make £27m transfer bid for Douglas Costa’ as cheap Jadon Sancho alternative but Juventus holding out for £36m

MANCHESTER UNITED have made a £27million bid for Douglas Costa, according to reports – but Juventus are holding out for £36m.
The Brazilian winger, 29, is one of SEVEN stars set to for the axe at the Serie A champions.

New boss Andrea Pirlo is preparing himself for an almighty overhaul after taking over from Maurizio Sarri, who was sacked after their Champions League exit.
Costa has been rumoured as to being part of a swap deal with Wolves as Juve chase Raul Jimenez.
Pirlo is claimed to have offered Costa, along with Aaron Ramsey and Alex Sandro, for the Mexican striker after balking at Wolves’ £90m valuation.
But Man Utd are keen to finally sign their long-term target, who they see as a cheaper alternative to £108m Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

In fact, Corriere dello Sport have claimed United have already submitted an official £27m bid.
But Juventus – despite their desperation to get Costa off the books – are hoping to pocket an extra £9m to recoup the £36m they spent on him in 2018.
Man Utd have famously chased Costa for years, spanning several managers.

With the Red Devils lacking any out and out wingers, Daniel James aside, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen to finally bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford.
But, there are still lingering doubts over his fitness – after Costa nearly retired from football following a spate of injuries.
Costa has scored ten goals, adding 21 assists in 101 games for Juventus and is currently under contract in Turin until 2022.

Arsenal and Man Utd transfer target Gabriel Maghales will make rivals ‘wait’ as Lille star decides on his future

GABRIEL MAGHALES has reportedly left his future up in their air after deciding he will “wait” on his next move.
The Lille defender was subject to interest from Napoli and Arsenal.

Gabriel Magelhaes has left his future up in their air after deciding he will ‘wait’ on his next move

And it appeared the Gunners moved into pole position to sign the 22-year-old and even agreed a five-year contract with Mikel Areta’s side.
But despite reports Gabriel competed a medical after Lille accepted Arsenal’s £22million bid – Manchester United look to have hijacked the move.
It is understood United have bid for the Brazilian, causing him to consider his next step.
According to The Telegraph, following interest from Old Trafford, Gabriel is “more than happy to wait before making a final decision”.

Gabriel was believed to have given himself the weekend to think things over, but that suggestion has now been quashed.
United could now indeed be in the driving seat now as they can offer higher wages than Arsenal.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will also be playing in next season’s Champions League.
Arsenal thought they had a deal done after seeing off interest from Napoli.

But Arteta could be forced to look elsewhere following United’s game-changing move.

Man Utd handed transfer blow as James Maddison says he is ‘keen to build on our achievements last season’ with Leicester

JAMES MADDISON announced he is “keen to build on our achievements last season” with Leicester.
It comes as a hint he is ready to commit his long-term future with the Foxes following prior transfer interest from Manchester United.

    1

James Maddison is ‘keen to build on our achievements last season’ with Leicester
Maddison said: “Fixture release day is one of the highlights of the season for me.
“It gives the whole squad a real buzz and you can feel the excitement ahead of the first game.
“We’re in for another really exciting year as a club, especially with European football coming back to the King Power Stadium.
“So we’re all keen to build on our achievements last season and give our supporters plenty to cheer about in 2020-21.”

Maddison will play in the Europa League this term after Leicester finished fifth last season.
But in a massive coup for Brendan Rodgers, the attacking midfielder signed a new deal BEFORE United and Chelsea pipped the Foxes to a top four finish.
SunSport revealed Maddison agreed to a double-your-money deal at at the King Power.

The 23-year-old committed himself to the club until 2025.

The England international will earn around £95,000 a week including bonuses.
That package makes him one of Leicester’s highest-paid players behind top-earner Jamie Vardy, who is on around £120,000 a week.

Man Utd owner Joel Glazer ‘preventing £108m Sancho transfer despite club officials wanting to meet Dortmund valuation’

MANCHESTER UNITED owner Joel Glazer is preventing the club’s £108million purchase of Jadon Sancho, reports have claimed.
Joel, who along with brother Avram have day-to-day control of the club, is said to harbour reservations about major spending in the current climate.

The finances of all clubs have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
Bundlesiga side Dortmund are holding firm on their £108m valuation of the England winger – who claims he’s “really happy” in Germany.
But Glazer has “expressed reluctance” to meet this figure, according to The Athletic.
They say Ed Woodward and Matt Judge, United’s head of corporate development, are deep in negotiations with Dortmund.

Those talks are being conducted through appointed intermediaries – at Dortmund’s request.

    3

But boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted Sancho – who Dortmund say they do not need to sell – to be a United player as soon as their Champions League qualification was confirmed.
United’s third place finish in the league was sealed on the final day of the season.
But a month on, The Athletic add “there remains a gap in valuation, salary and agent fees”.

They go onto claim Glazer has further concerns about the additional costs of salary and commission.
In the case of Sancho, both are believed to be “significant”.

Such a position has led to United looking at Bournemouth’s David Brooks as a cheaper alternative to Sancho.
The 23-year-old is valued at £40m and United are believed to be long-term admirers of the Wales star.
Solskjaer remains keen on Jack Grealish too, and reports have claimed United would offer Sergio Romero as part of a deal to land the Aston Villa playmaker.

Man Utd transfer target Douglas Costa available for just £18m after Juventus boss Pirlo tells him he’s not in his plans

MANCHESTER United target Douglas Costa is available for just £18million, according to reports.
The injury-plagued Brazilian spent much of last season on the treatment table and managed just three goals in 29 appearances.

With two years left on his current deal at Juventus, new boss Andrea Pirlo has told the winger he is not part of his plans.
And Tuttosport report that Manchester United remain interested in Costa.
The 29-year-old was bought by Juve for around £36m in 2018 and was the subject of interest from United last year, with reports of an offer of around £54m.
But the Old Lady rebuffed the Red Devils’ approach, believing he could kick on to become an integral part of the side for many years.

However, his constant injury problems and the fresh approach from Pirlo mean he could be sold on the cheap instead.
And that could spell good news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Old Trafford boss still has Jadon Sancho as his No1 transfer target as he looks to bring in a new winger.

There was even a suggestion Costa and Alex Sandro could be used as makeweights in a deal for Paul Pogba to return to Juventus.
As well as Costa, though, United have identified Bournemouth star David Brooks as another alternative if they cannot land Sancho.
However, Barcelona duo Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati look to be off the cards.

Man Utd wages revealed with Dean Henderson set to earn same amount as Bruno Fernandes after signing new contract

DEAN HENDERSON is set to receive a bumper new contract – earning him the same amount as midfield star Bruno Fernandes.
SunSport revealed Henderson, 23, is on the verge of signing a mega new four-year Old Trafford deal worth £100,000 a week.

    2

The England goalkeeper only signed a new £60k-a-week deal last year and this new deal is a clear sign Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants him to battle David De Gea for the No1 jersey.
His improved contract will also come with the option of a further 12 months, which can be activated at any time.
It also means United would be splashing out £550k a week just on their goalkeepers, with Spaniard De Gea earning £350k, Sergio Romero (£70k) and Lee Grant (£30k).
Henderson would equal winter signings Fernandes and Odion Ighalo as the club’s 11th highest paid players.

Mason Greenwood also received a pay rise during his breakthrough into the first team, having being offered £40,000-a-week.
It was revealed last season United had by far the biggest wage bill in the Premier League – paying more than double the division’s average.
The Old Trafford side paid out a staggering £352million on salaries – both players and other staff – during the course of the 2018/19 campaign.

That equated to a wages-to-revenue ratio of 56 per cent, as the club took in a total of £627m across the year.

In the previous season, 2017/18, United’s wage bill stood at £296m while revenue was £590m meaning the ratio was 50 per cent.
Last season 11 United stars earned more than £100,000 a week or more.

Man Utd told David Brooks transfer will cost £40million as Solskjaer identifies Jadon Sancho alternative

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told they must cough up a whopping £40million to land Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks.
They have identified Wales winger Brooks, 23, as a viable alternative to top target Jadon Sancho as talks with Borussia Dortmund continue to stall.

The Red Devils are long-term admirers of Brooks and are ready to press ahead with a move despite the former Sheffield United man missing most of last season through injury.
Bournemouth’s new manager Jason Tindall wants to keep Brooks and build his side’s bid for an instant return to the Premier League around him.
But the club’s Russian owner Maxim Demin would be willing to sell for the right price as he looks to reduce the financial impact of the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship.
Brooks cost Bournemouth £11.5m from Sheffield United in the summer of 2018 and enjoyed a stellar debut season in the Premier League, scoring seven goals in 30 games.

The Warrington-born wideman, who began his career at Manchester City, missed all but the final nine matches of last season due to an ankle injury.
Brooks is also attracting interest from Everton, Tottenham and former club United, who are owed money from his transfer.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could seek the opinion of former team-mate and Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who is known to be an admirer of Brooks.
Solskjaer spoke with Giggs before signing Welsh international Dan James from Swansea last summer.

Tindall insisted there would be no fire-sale this summer.
But the Cherries have already flogged Nathan Ake to Manchester City for £41m and agreed an £18.5m fee with Sheffield United for keeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Strike duo Callum Wilson and Joshua King are also both almost certain to leave while Jefferson Lerma wants to go back to Spain. More
