Man Utd forced to make Sergio Reguilon transfer decision ‘soon’ as Sevilla ask to have him back on loan from Real Madrid

MANCHESTER UNITED will have to make a quick decision on whether to sign Sergio Reguilon on loan.
It comes after United were believed to have been offered the Real Madrid defender on loan.

    1

Man Utd will have to make a quick decision on whether to sign Sergio Reguilon on loanAccording to Fabrizio Romano, the Old Trafford board are deciding “soon” on whether to take on the left-back.
But they will be rushed into making up their minds as Sevilla – who Reguilon played for last season – also want to bring back the 23-year-old.
The Spain international enjoyed a breakthrough season in Seville last term having been loaned out by Real Madrid.
He made 38 appearances and lifted the Europa League trophy.

And despite being voted LaLiga’s best left-back, Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane has no plans for Reguilon to stay in the capital this season.
But if the league champions wish to keep him on their books, the full-back could spend another season out on loan.
PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham are also among those interested in signing the player.

But United remain frontrunners to sign him, with Solskjaer keen to bolster his options at left-back and provide competition for places.

Luke Shaw remains injury prone while Brandon Williams is regarded as one for the future after his emergence.
Reguilon currently has no space in the Madrid side, with Ferland Mendy overtaking Marcelo as the club’s preferred left-back.

It came after 23-year-old Bergwijn – who played with the midfielder at Ajax – sent his international team-mate messages about moving to Tottenham.
Van de Beek, 23, said: “I have to say that he just sent me a message: ‘Are you coming to us or not?’
“We often have contact. We used to play together at Ajax for a long time and have actually always kept in touch.
“I think we will see each other again soon.

“But I chose to join United. It’s a fantastic step, and I think now is the right time.”
Van de Beek provides Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his first signing of the window.
But it left former Arsenal player turned pundit Merson scratching his head, with United already filled with options in central midfield.
With Premier League rivals having already strengthen their squads, United were accused of rushing into business.

Merson told the Daily Star: “Donny van de Beek looks like a panic buy at Manchester United. I don’t get it.
“They just spent £40m on a position where they are already strong and how does he play with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes?
“You have to have someone who can play the holding role.
“That signing looked to me like: ‘Oh we haven’t bought anyone yet, let’s go and buy someone, who can we get?'”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer travelled to Berlin to try and convince Werner to join Man Utd
According to Bild, United boss Solskjaer travelled to Berlin to try and convince the forward to join Old Trafford.
City manager Pep Guardiola is also said to have contacted Werner personally in an attempt to prize him over to the blue half of Manchester.
Ultimately Werner signed for Chelsea in June after Liverpool opted against making a move for the German.
The player admitted Chelsea boss Frank Lampard played a major role in his choice to pen a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Werner said: “He [Lampard] was the main point.
“We talked a lot about things like the system, how he wants to play and sees me playing, and how the system fits me.
“He is a really nice guy who not only told me what he wants from me as a player because he wants to help me as a guy.
“He knows me now a little bit better and it fits very well between us and now I am happy to be here.”

Werner has now been joined by international team-mate Kai Havertz, who joined in a £70m deal.
The 21-year-old too revealed Lampard convinced him to join Chelsea.
Havertz said: “Of course he had a big impact on my decision because I loved him as a player and watched him very often, and I think I can learn from him now he is a manager as well.
“I think he is a very humble person and a great guy and I can’t wait to play with him and learn from him.
“He was very offensive like me and he loves to score goals, and I love to score goals as well so I think he will help me a lot in my position.
“Also maybe on the things that I can improve and I can’t wait to work with him.”

Man Utd fans claim ‘agent’ David De Gea is hinting at Sergio Reguilon transfer with Instagram post on Spain duty

DAVID DE GEA teased Manchester United fans by posting a selfie with transfer target Sergio Reguilon on Instagram.
The Red Devils are reportedly chasing the Real Madrid star after his promising loan spell at Europa League conquerors Sevilla.

Together on Spain duty, the pair posed for a snap that both posted online.
De Gea started his country’s 1-1 draw with Germany on Thursday and Reguilon will hope to make his debut against Ukraine on Sunday.
And the left-back’s apparent friendship with De Gea led to some fans dreaming of the goalkeeper acting as his club’s transfer agent.
Twitter user Prakhar commented: “Reguilon to Man Utd I beg. Agent De Gea make it happen. Shaw is a liability being injured most of the time, Williams isn’t a footballer.”

One fan wrote: “He’s teasing us United fans!”
Another joked: “De Gea knows exactly what he’s doing with that picture of him and Reguilon as well. I said I wasn’t going to get overly involved in transfers this window but here I am imagining Reguilon singing glory glory Man United with Micky Phelan on the trumpet.”
While one Red Devils supporter tweeted: “De Gea knows something we don’t when he teased and took a photo with just him and Reguilon. I will hang my hope on that.”
And another remarked: “Rashford posting photos with Sancho on his Insta. De Gea posting photos with Reguilón on his Insta. If you think I’ll get hyped by this. Then you’re absolutely right.”

United were said to have offered £27million to sign Reguilon from Real.
However, the LaLiga giants have not yet decided whether to keep hold of the 23-year-old, with Marcelo and Ferland Mendy comfortably ahead in Zinedine Zidane’s pecking order.
The latest reports suggest Madrid are open to loaning out Reguilon once more, after he made 38 appearances for Sevilla last campaign.
PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham have also been named as interested parties.

Man Utd transfer pursuit of Sancho in desperate need of ‘drastic breakthrough’ as crunch talks fail to pick up pace

MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly must make a ‘drastic breakthrough’ in negotiations if they wish to prise Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund.
With just a month left to go in the transfer window, the Red Devils are in danger of failing to land their No1 summer target.

BVB are seeking a fee in the region of £108million for the England international.
But United are looking to ‘sort out the salary and fees of intermediaries’ before making an official offer.
Dortmund are in no rush to sell Sancho – who has three years left to run on his contract in Germany – with the club confident he will stay.
And according to the Daily Mail, United are in a race against time to sign Sancho having made little progress in their quest to sign him.

They claim that there has hardly been any progress in talks surrounding the agents fee, as well as what Sancho’s salary would be at Old Trafford.
    DOR CLOSING
And the news outlet also states that the club appear unlikely to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano this summer.
Meanwhile the club are yet to make a bid for Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, despite Spanish media reporting they offered Los Blancos £27m.
United have made just one signing this window, with Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek joining from Ajax for £39m on Wednesday.

But Sancho is the player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate to bring to the club.
The 20-year-old has opened up on speculation regarding his future, where he stated he isn’t paying attention to rumours.

Asked whether he wishes the rumours would go away, he said: “No, the media’s the media.
“They’re always going to try and create a story, but this is how you manage it.
“For me, I just focus on my football. I just want to do what’s best for my team and win titles at the end of the day.”

Manchester United and Liverpool are fighting over a potential transfer for the star who could prove to be a bargain buy.
He is believed to be lining up a new challenge after seven years with Champions League winners Bayern.
But Thiago let rip at a press conference on Friday while on international duty ahead of Spain’s game against Ukraine today.

He said: “I have not told anyone that I’m leaving.

“Every year, they put me in a different club.
“For me my future is tomorrow’s game and there is nothing more to say.
“I neither care nor am I interested.
    “What interests me is tomorrow.”

    2

The 29-year-old has one year left on his contract and the German champs are desperate to prevent him leaving for free next summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are thought to be leading the race for the midfielder, who is likely to be available for around £26.6million.
But despite already adding £39m Donny van de Beek to their midfield, Manchester United are also reportedly set to hold talks with the former Barcelona man.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United have the chance to sign the 23-year-old on loan.
It comes after they already offered £27m to sign him permanently, but Sport say Madrid are undecided on whether they want to let the full-back leave permanently.
If the Spanish champions wish to keep Reguilon on their books, United could have to settle for a loan move.

PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham are also among those interested in signing the Spaniard.

Man Utd signing Donny van de Beek slammed as a ‘panic buy’ done to appease fans in extraordinary blast by Paul Merson

MANCHESTER UNITED’s big summer signing Donny van de Beek is nothing more than a ‘panic buy’ bought to appease fans, claims Paul Merson.
The 23-year-old was snapped up for £39million from Ajax, in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first deal of the summer window.

Paul Merson called the Van de Beek signing a ‘panic buy’
But it left former Arsenal player turned pundit Merson scratching his head, with United already filled with options in central midfield.
With Premier League rivals having already strengthen their squads, the Red Devils were accused of rushing into business.
Merson told the Daily Star: “Donny van de Beek looks like a panic buy at Manchester United. I don’t get it.

United are still in the market for a defender and winger, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho their primary target.
But Jack Grealish – who received his first England call up – is also a creative alternative for Solskjaer.

United are also still in the race to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich, but face competition from Liverpool.
The Spaniard has just a year left on his deal, with the German champions ready to cash in on the £27m rated playmaker.
Liverpool are believed to be leading the race, with Georginio Wijnaldum linked with a move to Barcelona, which could create space for Thiago.
