Man Utd plot Gareth Bale transfer swoop if they fail to prise top target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund

MANCHESTER UNITED could swoop for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale if they miss out on Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
United are looking increasingly unlikely to prise Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund before the end of the transfer window, having missed the German club’s August 10 deadline to meet their £109million asking price for the England international.

The Daily Star claims United will instead turn their attention to out-of-favour Real Madrid star Bale, who is free to leave the Spanish capital.
Real are reportedly so desperate to offload the 31-year-old they could agree to pay half of his £600,000-a-week wages to force through a move.
The Welshman made just 14 starts for Los Blancos last season and has grown increasingly frustrated over his lack of playing time.
Bale has a contract at the Bernabeu until 2022 and Real would accept as little as £22million for the ex-Tottenham forward.

United would prefer to take Bale on loan, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believing a move for the four-time Champions League winner could turn his side into genuine title contenders.
The Wales captain, 31, came close to leaving Madrid for Chinese side Jiangsu Suning last summer only for Real to block the move at the last minute.
Bale made clear his desire to leave the Spanish champions while on international duty last week, despite previous reports he could decide to run down his contract on the Bernabeu sidelines.
He told Sky Sports: “What can I say? I want to play football.

“I am still motivated to play football so I guess it is on the club really.
“I can’t do anything, they are in control of everything
“I have a contract so all I can do is carry on what I am doing and hopefully something comes up.
“It is in the club’s hands and they have made things very difficult to be honest.”

Man Utd announce three academy signings after poaching young talent from Barcelona and Real Madrid

United have also confirmed the signing of Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Norwegian side Tromso but are still awaiting international clearance for the 16-year-old.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen has joined Manchester United’s academy ranks

Jurado, 16, and Fernandez, 17, have been in quarantine since arriving in Manchester last month but have now received international clearance for the Spanish duo to join United’s academy.
Players require clearance from both relevant football associations before an international transfer can be approved.
Full-backs Jurado and Fernandez have already started intensive English lessons and were introduced to their new academy coaches via Zoom calls.
Arnau Puigmal and Mateo Mejia, two Spaniards already on the Red Devils’ books, have also been FaceTiming the pair to help them settle.

United have also given Jurado and Fernandez documentaries to watch about the club and the city of Manchester to help them adjust.
Manchester Evening News revealed last week Norwegian Hansen-Aaroen has already started training with United’s Under-18 side, along with fellow academy signings Joe Hugill, Logan Pye and Radek Vitek.
United beat Arsenal and Tottenham to the £300,000 signing of 16-year-old striker Hugill from Sunderland in May.
The 16-year-old was joined at United by Black Cats teammate Pye, also 16, while Czech goalkeeper Vitek arrived from Sigma Olomouc.

They look set to be joined at Carrington by Manchester City starlet Charlie McNeill, who has rejected a professional contract at the Etihad.
United are busy finalising a £750,000 deal to bring McNeill back to the club he supports and the England youth international will be placed in the U23 team.
They have also agreed a deal for Atletico Madrid youngster Alejandro Garnacho, with the striker due in Manchester later this week.

Man Utd still need FOUR new transfer signings to become genuine Premier League title contenders, says Rio Ferdinand

RIO FERDINAND believes Manchester United need four new signings to challenge for the title this season.
United’s only signing this summer has been the addition of midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax, while they have been frustrated in their attempts to sign long-standing target Jadon Sancho.

    1

Rio Ferdinand has said United need three or four new faces to challenge this season

Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon have both been linked with moves.
Former United defender Ferdinand has highlighted several areas which boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could strengthen before the Red Devils’ Premier League campaign gets underway.
Ferdinand told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Yeah, I would say definitely after Van de Beek they need probably – if they’re going to really compete – three or four.
“Players that can go in and actually affect the first team, the first XI.

“And [Sergio] Reguilon we’re talking about, the lad at Sevilla who’s from Real Madrid, he was voted the best left-back in La Liga so really good credentials.
“Luke Shaw I think is unfortunate in terms of his injuries.

“He’s played games but then he hasn’t been able to sustain a full season without any injuries, which is disappointing.
“But listen, if I was looking at it and looking at the team, in the forward areas I think one or two additions.

“One definitely, maybe two, are needed that can come in and affect that first team and push people, if not start. And then I think a centre-back.
“That area, for me, is where there’s a lack of real, genuine pace and I think the best teams around at the moment have a player in one of the two players that play [at centre-back] in a four that has genuine pace normally.
“I think Liverpool are the team that’s dominated this season.
“The two centre-backs can be sat on the halfway line, they’re sitting there purring, waiting to be taken on in a foot race back to the goal and they back themselves.
“And with that, what that does as well, it’s not just about pace – knowing how to defend as well – but what that allows is more players to be able to go forward and pin the other team back in the opposing team’s third, which is, the way the game is played today, very critical.”

Man Utd defender Chris Smalling set to complete permanent Roma transfer after impressive loan spell

CHRIS SMALLING looks set to complete a permanent transfer to Roma as he continues to train away from the rest of the Manchester United squad.
The 30-year-old England defender spent a successful season on-loan with the Italians and wants to return this term.

The two clubs have been haggling over a transfer fee, with the Red Devils valuing the ex-Fulham man between £15million and £20m.
He is currently back in pre-season but The Telegraph claims he is working away from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team squad.
Today’s report states he was not present at Carrington for either Tuesday or Wednesday’s sessions as he remains hopeful he can secure his exit.
Both Smalling and his representatives are continuing to negotiate the terms of his departure from Old Trafford.

He did return to the club’s training HQ today, but he did a double session by himself.
Smalling is also expected to do the same tomorrow.
Despite making over 300 appearances for United, he was deemed surplus to requirements by Solskjaer a year ago.
That led to a switch to Serie A, where he became a regular for Roma and a big fan favourite.

His United contract does not expire until 2022 but he is desperate for them to reach an agreement with United for him to leave.
Solskjaer is attempting to strengthen his team by bolstering his defence before next month’s transfer deadline.
But the lack of a new centre-half is no doubt delaying Smalling’s permanent exit.

Man Utd target Jadon Sancho ‘told Solskjaer he wants to play for club’ as Ed Woodward targets transfer

The report adds that Solskjaer’s confidence has come from several conversations with Sancho, in which the winger expressed his desire to play at Old Trafford.
SunSport told you on September 2 that the 20-year-old has already reached an agreement with United over wages.
And the Premier League giants reportedly made a breakthrough over agent fees in their hunt for Sancho this week.
Yet Solskaer’s side remain locked in talks with Dortmund over a transfer fee after having an initial bid of £70million – rising to £110m in bonuses – rejected.

United, who have only brought in £39m midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax this summer so far, have not given up on Sancho.
But manager Solskjaer admitted United do not have “new millions” to complete a deal.
The Norwegian told Radio Five Live: “I am very happy working with these players and the squad.
“We always trying to improve and to see if there’s any way possible that we can improve this squad and bring players in that will have the right level of quality and the right personality and have all the right criteria.

“We all know this summer and this year has been a very strange one and it’s important that everyone understands that this has an effect on football and not everyone can spend millions and millions, and new millions.”
United meanwhile also remain keen on signing a new centre-back, with RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano in Solskjaer’s sights.
He would also like a left-back, with Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon eyed after an impressive loan at Sevilla.

Man Utd plotting shock N’Golo Kante transfer with Chelsea demanding £55m for Frenchman as Lampard looks to raise funds

MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting a shock transfer swoop for N’Golo Kante, according to sensational reports.
The French midfielder’s future is still unclear with the Blues thought to be open to the idea of moving him on to raise funds.

Roman Abramovich has splashed out £230million this summer to bring in Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell.
And the sale of Kante would help reduce the deficit.
Now according to Tuttosport in Italy, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to make an ambitious bid to land the star.
United already have Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Fred at their disposal in midfield – plus summer-signing Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

Kante is under contract for another three years at Stamford Bridge after penning a new deal in November 2018.
The report alleges Chelsea would be willing to accept an offer of just £55m for the 29-year-old.
There was talk earlier in the summer that a move to Inter Milan could be on the cards.
Antonio Conte signed ‘the nicest man in football’ from Leicester in 2016 and would unsurprisingly be keen to reunite with the World Cup.

The problem for Inter – who are set to sign Arturo Vidal from Barcelona – is cash.
Tuttosport add the San Siro club would need to sell Milan Skriniar or Marcelo Brozovic to finance a deal.
Both players would cost between £36m and £46m, with Inter hoping to then convince Chelsea to lower their asking price.
Kante, though, is thought to be happy in West London and wants to fight for his place.
However, should Frank Lampard manage to secure former Blues youngster Declan Rice from West Ham, he may deem Kante surplus to requirements.

According to CalcioMercato, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are preparing a bid in the coming hours.
The Toffees boss was busy unveiling James Rodriguez to the media on Thursday afternoon after the Colombian’s move from Real Madrid.
Everton have splashed around £55m on signings this summer with Ancelotti praising the club’s “fantastic job” in the transfer department.
Abdoulaye Doucoure, young left-back Niels Nkounkou and Napoli midfielder Allan have also arrived.

And Goodison Park bosses are set to get back on the phone to Italy to thrash out a deal for Lozano.
Despite a return of just five goals and two assists in his debut year at Napoli, the 25-year-old is still highly rated.
