Darren Fletcher begs Man Utd to back ‘frustrated’ Solskjaer with FIVE new signings in transfer market

DARREN FLETCHER begged Manchester United to back “frustrated” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by making five new signings before Monday’s deadline day.
The ex-Red Devils midfielder, 36, has seen his former side bring in just one new face this summer.

Donny van de Beek made the switch to Old Trafford for £39million but no others have followed him just yet.
And with the transfer window closing next week, Fletcher knows time is running out for the club to get the best possible squad assembled for the season.
He told Sky Sports: “We know it’s more difficult for Manchester United to sign players. The value goes up, the negotiations are difficult.
“But at the same time they will be frustrated – Ole, the fans, everybody around the club – by the fact that Chelsea and other teams can do their business early, and that other teams have spent a lot of money already while Manchester United look like they are going to leave it last minute.

“For me, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, for the job he has done for the club, from where it was to what it is now, deserves the players he wants in.
“He’s always got the best interests of the club at heart, I know that, but sometimes Ole has to look after himself as well, because he’s going to be judged season on season.
“People don’t look at the work you’ve done, they want the here and now, and for Manchester United to get to where they want, they need players.
“They need three, four, five players to get anywhere close to challenging Liverpool. If they don’t recruit, they are going to find it tough to finish top four.

“I would hate all that pressure and criticism to go on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, because I feel he’s done a fantastic job.
“The board have to back him. Ole will have identified targets and so will the club. They’ve got five or six days to get him some help and get him some players in.”
    SUMMER OF FRUSTRATION
Jadon Sancho has been United’s No1 transfer target throughout the summer window.
Despite a deal looking to be off the cards, SunSport revealed the Borussia Dortmund winger reckons a transfer could somehow get done in time – although that would rely on United stumping up the cash.
Juventus star Douglas Costa, Watford’s Ismaila Sarr and Federico Chieso of Fiorentina were all linked as back-up options.
But a deal to bring Ousmane Dembele to Old Trafford could happen with United in talks with Barcelona over a season-long loan for the Frenchman.
Elsewhere, pursuits of defenders Dayot Upamecano and Kalidou Koulibaly have failed despite calls for a new centre-back to partner Harry Maguire.
And in attack, Edinson Cavani and Luka Jovic are among the names also linked while midfielder N’Golo Kante and left-back Alex Telles did not arrive.
Fletcher’s former team-mate Gary Neville echoed the views United urgently need to get new signings through the door – especially with the rest of the ‘big six’ making significant additions.
He tweeted: “It’s appalling that in this market which is probably the easiest in PL history to get transfers done that United haven’t done more yet!
“They must get Ole a CB , LB and Forward pre deadline! The others are managing to get things over the line why not United!”

Luka Jovic’s agent ‘tells Man Utd he wants to join them with transfer talks over Real Madrid outcast at advanced stage’

REAL MADRID forward Luka Jovic is reportedly desperate to join Manchester United as talks continue over a loan move.
The LaLiga champions are willing to send out the striker on loan in the hope he rediscovers the form that saw Los Blancos sign him last summer.

Jovic, 22, has flattered to deceive at the Bernabeu following his switch from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Serbia international scoring just twice in 29 games.
And according to the Daily Star, Jovic has set his sights on joining United, with his agent informing the Red Devils of his desire to link up with them.
They claim that talks are at an advanced stage, with Madrid expected to made a decision regarding his future of Thursday.
It has been said that United would pay his wages during his season-long loan, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to seek an option-to-buy clause.

However Real are currently resisting that proposal, in the hope that he will be a key player for them next campaign.
Jovic started in Real’s 1-0 win against Real Valladolid on Wednesday night, but he was subbed off after 56 minutes having failed to make an impact.
Zinedine Zidane fuelled speculation he could leave after the full-time whistle, as he stated: “I can’t confirm anything until October 5.
“He’s a player from this squad. I decide [on the team] and that’s it.

“I’m not going to say anything about what’s going to happen. Anything can happen. He’s here and he played today.”
SunSport reported earlier this week how United were chasing Jovic on loan, as well as a swoop for free agent Edinson Cavani.
United also remain keen on bringing in a right winger, with a move for Jadon Sancho still the priority.
But should they fail to land the Borussia Dortmund ace, Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele could be brought in on loan.

Man Utd open Ousmane Dembele transfer talks with Barcelona as they eye season-long loan amid Jadon Sancho struggles

MANCHESTER UNITED have opened talks with Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele over a season-long loan move to Old Trafford.
United are struggling to get the deal for Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund over the line so are now taking positive steps to get a deal done for Dembele.

Talks with Barca progressed on Wednesday as hopes faded of getting No1 target Sancho before Monday’s transfer deadline.
United have had a deal on the table for some months now for Sancho for £70million up front rising to £100m which Dortmund have rejected.
There has been no new bid so far this week.
Dembele, 23, was regarded as one of the most exciting wingers in the world when he joined Barcelona in a club-record £95.8m move from Dortmund in 2017.

The French international – who began his career at Rennes – had last season wrecked by two hamstring injuries, the second of which required surgery.
He has not started a game since last November although he made a substitute appearance in Barcelona’s opening game of the season.
He was in Ronald Koeman’s bad books on Monday of this week, though, after he turned up 15 minutes late for training.

He also turned up late for a game against Real Betis back in December 2018.

Former United midfielder Darren Fletcher believes the move could be a risk but still bring it’s rewards for both parties.
Fletcher said: “It suggests that they are moving on from Jadon Sancho.
“I think Ousmane Dembele’s a right winger, a position they are finally identifying.
“It comes with its risks – his injury record is not great over the last few seasons – I think he only made five league appearances last season, but he’s a talented player.
“Barcelona purchased him for £100m or something like that.

“I think a loan deal would suit United, and probably both parties…
“I think he needs a fresh challenge, coming to a massive club like Manchester United.
“It’s a chance to showcase himself, get opportunities, get fit and potentially look for a transfer down the line.
“But I wouldn’t say they’ve got to sign him because of his injury record, and he has tendencies to be late a lot of the time judging by reports.
“United should give him the opportunity to showcase himself and be the player everyone thought he was going to become.”

Man Utd make opening £12m Alex Telles transfer bid… which Porto do not even RESPOND to as it was so low

MANCHESTER UNITED’s opening £12million bid for Alex Telles was reportedly so low Porto failed to even RESPOND.
The Red Devils are chasing the Brazilian left-back, 27, before the transfer window slams shut on October 5.

And O Jogo reports the difference in valuations is so steep between the two clubs that United did not even get a reply from the Portuguese champs.
The report adds Porto want nothing less than £18m and will not part with the player if United do not up their initial offer.
United are hopeful the financial pressure caused by the Covid-19 pandemic will convince Porto to accept their offer before Monday’s deadline.
However, Porto are thought to have been left frustrated by the lowball offer, according to Correio de Manha.

They are even prepared to let Telles walk away for nothing when his contract ends next summer rather than sell on the cheap now.
That would mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could agree a pre-contract agreement with the player as early as January – but he would not join until next summer.
Telles has been shortlisted by United as they look to bolster their reinforcements at left-back and provide competition for Luke Shaw.
Shaw urged Ed Woodward and Co to dip into their pockets and add new players to Solskjaer’s squad after they were thumped 3-1 by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Man Utd fail in loan transfer for Fiorentina star Chiesa in yet another attempt to secure Jadon Sancho alternative

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly failed in their bid to sign Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa on loan in yet another attempt to secure an alternative to Jadon Sancho.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperately hunting a new winger all summer, with Sancho his long-term No1 target.

The England star, 20, looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund for at least the 2020-21 season, with captain Marco Reus all-but confirming the news.
But on Wednesday, SunSport exclusively revealed Sancho had asked his team to “pull out all the stops” to get him to Old Trafford before the October 5 transfer deadline.
Solskjaer, though, is fearful he is running out time to conclude a deal for Sancho – who is valued at £108million by Dortmund.
And the Man Utd boss has time-and-time again looked elsewhere – eyeing up moves for Douglas Costa, Ismaila Sarr and Ousmane Demebele, among others.

With under a week left to go until the transfer window slams shut, Solskjaer reportedly made a move for 22-year-old Fiorentina winger Chiesa on loan.
However, as the club have repeatedly stated in recent windows, they are not willing to allow their star man to leave on loan.
Fiorentina are tempted to cash-in on their prized asset, though – with Juventus believed to be eyeing up a £45m swoop.
The Telegraph have claimed Man Utd were unsuccessful in their bid to sign Italian ace Chiesa on loan.

Solskjaer will yet again be forced to look elsewhere.
United – despite being one of very few teams able to afford monster transfer fees in the current financial climate – have endured an horrific summer.
So far, Solskjaer has only signed midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The lack of activity prompted club legend Gary Neville to call the club’s transfer dealings “appalling”.
United have, however, been linked with the free signing of Edinson Cavani and a loan move for Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic.

Jadon Sancho believes he WILL be Man Utd star before transfer window shuts as he asks advisors to ‘pull out all stops’

JADON SANCHO believes he WILL be a Manchester United player before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The England winger, 20, wants his top advisors to “pull out all the stops” to secure his move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho was left out of the Dortmund squad for the German Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is growing increasingly confident he can land his No1 target before the deadline.
Sources say Dortmund are resigned to losing the player, despite publicly being confident he will stick around.
One said: “He wants this deal done.

“He’s told his agent and various advisors to do all they can to make it happen.
    “They are pushing for him.”
Dortmund are said to want a minimum of £80million up front, plus add-ons.
Sources close to the long-running transfer saga reckon it could be completed for £95m, lower than Dortmund’s £108m asking price.

Frantic negotiations behind-the-scenes are continuing to complete the deal in time before the transfer window closes on Monday.
One source said: “There’s a bit of a stand off going on… it’s a case of who blinks first.
“Will United up the offer or will Dortmund accept a lower bid?
“The Red Devils are considering making a final bid for the young star on Wednesday in the hope of forcing the deal across the line.

Sancho’s arrival at Old Trafford would pave the way for Daniel James to join Leeds, either on a permanent deal or on loan until the end of the season.

Man Utd ‘in talks to sign Cavani on free transfer and Luka Jovic on loan’ as they eye big-name player to bolster attack

MANCHESTER UNITED are in talks to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer – while adding Luka Jovic on loan in an incredible double-swoop, according to reports.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen enough just two games into the Premier League season and is itching to bolster his attack, it seems.

Despite his defence looking shaky, Solskjaer appears dead-set on fighting fire with fire and adding some huge-name strikers to his squad.
The United boss even admitted he had no interest in adding to his defensive ranks this summer, much to fans’ frustration.
Now, AS claim Man Utd are already in talks with Cavani’s brother – also his agent – after he was released by Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
Cavani, 33, was once on the brink of a move to Atletico Madrid – but the move failed to materialise, with the Spaniards moving for Luis Suarez instead.

A proposed move to Benfica also appeared to collapse.
Despite boasting attacking talent such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo and Mason Greenwood, Solskjaer has made a new striker his top priority.
And of his options, Cavani is the No1 target, according to reports in Spain.
But should United fail to land the Uruguayan legend, they will instead look to Real Madrid flop Jovic.

The Serbian striker, 22, only joined Los Blancos las summer but struggled mightily – scoring just twice in 18 LaLiga games.
Zinedine Zidane has now confessed he will look to offload Jovic on loan – with the player himself itching to get away from the Bernabeu.
Roma, Inter Milan and AC Milan are thought to be Jovic’s preferred destinations.
However, Madrid are now claimed to be seriously considering United’s sudden interest.

How Man Utd could line up after transfer window with Jadon Sancho, Alex Telles and Donny van de Beek

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER is desperate to add to his Manchester United squad before the transfer window slams shut next week.
SunSport previously reported that the Norwegian remains confident of prising Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund.

    2

Manchester United are desperate to secure two more signings before the end of the transfer window

The 20-year-old is known to be the Red Devils’ No1 target, but they have failed to strike a deal with the Bundesliga giants.
United are preparing a £90million bid with just £65m of it paid upfront but BVB are still are holding out for £108m.
The Old Trafford outfit may be forced to dig deep after a poor start to the season saw them fall to a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace before a late penalty helped them snatch three points from Brighton.
Injuries and a lack of options meant United had to turn to Dan James against the Eagles yet he was hooked at half-time.

Sancho’s arrival would add instant quality to the club’s front three alongside Anthony Martial and England pal Marcus Rashford.
However, United have also drawn up a five-man shortlist of alternatives because they desperately need to sign someone before deadline day.
Watford’s Ismaila Sarr is leading the pack, but the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Bournemouth ace Josh King, Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan and Juventus star Douglas Costa.
Either way, Mason Greenwood could be pushed out of the team, although the talented teen could be freed up to battle Martial for a spot up-top.

    2

United have lined up Watford’s Ismaila Sarr as an alternative to Jadon Sancho
Solskjaer meanwhile is also planning to strengthen at the back and is said to have made a £12m bid for Porto defender Alex Telles.
The 27-year-old is seen as a reliable solution to United’s problems at left-back and will likely climb above Luke Shaw in the pecking order.
But despite the player only having ten months left on his contract, Porto are apparently willing to let him go for free next summer and are set to reject the bid rather than sell him on the cheap now.
So far, Donny van de Beek is the only player that United have managed to sign following his £39million move from Ajax.

The Dutchman, 24, has yet to start a league game for his new side but may finally be ready to form a dream midfield trio with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
