Frantic Man Utd target Sarr on loan transfer as yet ANOTHER Jadon Sancho alternative but Watford want permanent sale

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly seeking a loan deal for Ismaila Sarr having so far failed to sign Jadon Sancho.
The end of a long summer transfer saga involving the Borussia Dortmund winger and the Red Devils is nigh, without an agreement in sight.

That has forced United to look elsewhere to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack.
And French outlet Telefoot report on an approach to take Watford winger Sarr on loan.
The deadline day bid involves an option to sign the 22-year-old for £45million next summer, and is said to have been rejected by the Hornets.
Negotiations are described as ongoing with Watford holding out for a permanent sale or an initial loan fee amounting to £25m.

Senegal international Sarr cost the Championship side £30m last year but has only scored six goals at Vicarage Road, making his second appearance of the campaign in his side’s defeat to Reading on the weekend.
Liverpool were previously linked with the ex-Rennes star, before opting to sign Diogo Jota.
Should United fail to sign a wide attacker on deadline day, they could then go back to Sarr given the domestic deadline is not until October 16.
The Red Devils are also reportedly interested in a loan move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

Even though the Frenchman is unwanted at the Camp Nou, the LaLiga giants will only entertain permanent bids, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Fellow target Douglas Costa is one man definitely not heading to Old Trafford on Friday, after he completed a return to Bayern Munich.
Going into deadline day, Donny van de Beek was the only man to sign for the club this autumn.
But free agent Edinson Cavani and Porto left-back Alex Telles are expected to sign on the dotted line before the 11pm close of play.

Ousmane Dembele ‘agrees to join Man Utd as club thrashes out personal terms and transfer agreement with Barcelona’

OUSMANE DEMBELE has reportedly agreed personal terms to seal a deadline day move to Manchester United.
Transfer expert Duncan Castles claim the Red Devils will now thrash out a deal with Barcelona for the French winger.

SunSport understands United are still negotiating but the two clubs have reached an impasse with the Catalans willing to sanction a permanent deal.
Dembele is also reported to prefer a permanent move to Old Trafford rather than a loan, but United are only keen on a loan transfer.
The 23-year-old forward had emerged as an alternative to top transfer target Jadon Sancho.
SunSport revealed that the Red Devils finally gave up on getting the Borussia Dortmund star at the weekend as the Bundesliga club refused to budge on their valuation.

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman was the one that opened the door to Dembele joining United on Sunday night.
Dembele was an unused substitute in Barca’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla having also been in the stands for the 3-0 win over Celta Vigo.
And Nou Camp chief Koeman said he had no firm plans for the former Borussia Dortmund star to remain in Spain.
The ex-Everton chief admitted he did not know what will happen with the European deadline for transfers kicking in tonight.

Koeman said: “What is certain in the world? I don’t know.

“At the moment, he’s a Barcelona player. There’s still one day left for incomings and outgoings. We’ll see.”
Explaining why he did not play the £138m signing, Koeman added: “I opted for [Francisco] Trincao, Pedri and [Miralem] Pjanic [off the bench].
“We needed more control and that’s why I made these changes.”
Koeman, when quizzed about Dembele leaving, previously said: “His future depends on what he thinks. I haven’t spoken to him about his future. We’ll see.” More

Amad Traore shock Man Utd transfer target as race to get deal over line before Brexit in pipeline with Arsenal also keen

MANCHESTER UNITED lawyers are still hoping to secure a deal for Atalanta wonderkid Amad Traore.
And if they can’t do that before the window closes tonight they are working on a back-up plan to ensure he is signed before Brexit rules block young talent coming into the UK on January 1.

Traore, 18, has been compared to Lionel Messi by his club’s La Liga skipper Papu Gomez.
Gomez said: “There are defenders in the first team that sometimes cannot stop him.
“To stop him in training, we have to kick him!
    “He plays like Messi.”

The problem with Traore is that he was born in the Ivory Coast then moved to Italy when he was aged around ten and does not have an Italian passport.
Man Utd are keen to get a deal done now given that next year he would need a work permit to join – and he has no international caps.
Traore has played only three Serie A games so far and United are desperate to beg him with Manchester City, Arsenal and Juventus circling.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have told Jadon Sancho ‘we haven’t given up on you’ despite failing to get a deal over the line for the England winger.

The Red Devils finally gave up on getting the Borussia Dortmund star at the weekend as the Bundesliga club refused to budge on their valuation.
United had offered £70million up front rising to £100m – but Dortmund wanted more up front and £108m overall.
While Sancho, 20, wanted the move, he did not want to force the deal by publicly announcing his desire to leave.
A public transfer request could have jeopardised his relationship with Dortmund if the deal did not go through.
He has told close pals that he is convinced he will still end up being a United player with a deal revived in the New Year.
The club have made it clear to the player that they will not turn their back on the move despite the problems they have encountered with Dortmund this summer.
But they simply do not believe that a 20-year-old player in the current financial climate is worth £108m.

Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles at Man Utd’s training ground for medicals ahead of sensational double transfer swoop

EDINSON CAVANI and Alex Telles are currently at Manchester United’s training ground undergoing their medicals ahead of a sensational double swoop.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to complete two deadline day deals with hours to spare.

Free agent Cavani, 33, is on the brink of signing a two-year deal having been without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
The Uruguayan legend is set to pocket £200,000 a week at Old Trafford – and will provide some depth to Solskjaer’s forward ranks.
Telles, meanwhile, is an £18million arrival from Porto who will add some much-needed strength to the left-back position.
The Portuguese star, 27, will put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Solskjaer had been eager to bolster his leaky defence and had been locked in negotiations with Porto over Telles’ fee.
With just a year left on his contract in Portugal, United initially wanted to pay £12m for the player.
But Porto held out for £18m and it appears United have caved into their demands.
Solskjaer is believed to have pleaded with his board to find the cash to land his man.

Telles’ attacking ability also attracted Solksjaer to make the move having scored 13 goals with 12 assists in 49 appearances last season.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer is still hoping to add a right-winger to his squad this window.
United have given up on signing top target Jadon Sancho this summer – but are poised to have another crack at Borussia Dortmund in January,
For now, Solskjaer will take a gamble on injury-prone Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.
With deals for Cavani and Telles all-but concluded, Solskjaer can now commit his focus to the proposed loan deal for Dembele.

Man Utd tell Jadon Sancho ‘we haven’t given up on you’ as transfer looks to be over from Dortmund until January at least

MANCHESTER UNITED have told Jadon Sancho ‘we haven’t given up on you’ despite failing to get a deal over the line for the England winger.

But they simply do not believe that a 20-year-old player in the current financial climate is worth £108m.
That is why they offered £70m with the further £30m based on future achievements.
Meanwhile, Sancho has angered Dortmund officials after being spotted at Tammy Abraham’s birthday party.

The winger missed Dortmund’s 4-0 win over Freiburg at the weekend due to ‘illness’.
Sancho also missed the German Cup defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich and training.
But he then joined Abraham and Chelsea ace Ben Chilwell in a gathering of about 20 friends and family.
Piers Morgan slammed the England trio on Good Morning Britain, calling them “irresponsible”.

Man Utd wasting £365k a week on wages for five unwanted players including Lingard and Smalling in bloated squad

MANCHESTER UNITED are losing £365,000 a week on wages for unwanted players in their bloated squad.
They enter the final day of the transfer window having been unable to get rid of Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling – or even third choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Only Smalling – on £90,000 a week – looked close to getting a move away from Old Trafford after a successful season on loan at Roma.
The Serie A club wanted him permanently but are refusing to meet United’s £16million asking price having offered £12m.
There have been no other offers for the other United players, none of whom are likely to figure in anything but the domestic cups.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not even left the door open for Smalling to rejoin the first choice back four despite the woes of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire.

At 28, Jones should be in the prime of his career. Yet he always seems to be injured and when he is fit Solskjaer does not trust to play him.
Which makes it all the more bizarre that he was given a new contract of £75,000 a week in February of last year to keep him at the club until 2023.
Nice work if you can get it.
That being said, he couldn’t have done much worse than Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire in Sunday’s 6-1 humbling at the hands of Spurs.

Liverpool boast the most valuable squad in world football

Lingard’s fall from grace has seen him play in only the two Carabao Cup games this season and then it was only for nine minutes against Brighton last week.
He is sitting on a £100,000-a-week contract that still has a year to run.
Romero on £50,000 a week is now third choice goalkeeper since Dean Henderson returned.
Rojo on £50,000 a week is still around having played just nine times for United last season.
He was loaned out to Estudiantes in January for the rest of the season but played only once.
At least they managed to get Diogo Dalot’s £50,000 a week off the wage bill, although not permanently, as he left Manchester to join AC Milan on a season’s long loan.
Andreas Pereira’s £55,000 a week is now also being picked up by a Serie A side after he joined Lazio on loan for the rest of the campaign last week.

Edinson Cavani Man Utd shirt number options revealed including famed No7 worn by Ronaldo, Cantona and Co

EDINSON CAVANI could wear Manchester United’s famed No7 shirt if his move to Old Trafford is confirmed.
The 33-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in June.

    2

Edinson Cavani is rumoured to be undergoing a medical at Man United

Reports suggest Cavani is undergoing a medical in Manchester today and will sign a two-year deal with United worth a reported £200,000-a-week.
The transfer could also see the Red Devils pay up to £9million in agents’ fees.
Ahead of the Uruguayan’s imminent move to United, we take a look at the shirt numbers he could take at Old Trafford.
    No7
Cavani could take United’s fabled No7 shirt, as worn by United legends like George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Uruguayan has previously worn the shirt for his country as well as former clubs Palermo and Napoli.
United seemed content to leave the shirt vacant this summer, hopeful it would soon be occupied by Jadon Sancho.
But with Sancho staying at Borussia Dortmund this season, the No7 shirt remains untouched.

    2

Cavani could take United’s famed No7 shirt, as worn by Cristiano Ronaldo
In fact, no one has worn the shirt since Alexis Sanchez left United for Inter Milan.

Sanchez is just one of a number of cautionary tales which could lead Cavani to snub the No7.
Angel Di Maria and Memphis Depay both arrived in Manchester with big expectations and price tags which they were unable to live up to in the No7 shirt.
Superstitious Antonio Valencia even opted to switch back to his original No25 shirt after just one season in the No7, having felt the weight of the shirt after a loss of form.
Other notable wearers include Michael Owen and Andreas Kanchelskis.
    No19
Marcus Rashford was the last to wear United’s No19 shirt, vacating the number in 2018 to take the No10 Jersey.
Other notable wearers include United treble winner Dwight Yorke.

    No27
United’s No 27 shirt has remained vacant since the departure of Marouane Fellaini in January 2019.
    No28
Last to wear the No28 shirt was academy graduate Angel Gomes, who left the club for Lille this summer.
Other notable wearers include Morgan Schneiderlin, Anderson and David Beckham.
    No30
Cavani’s compatriot Guillermo Varela was the last wearer of the No30 shirt.
    No32
Fellow South American Carlos Tevez donned the No32 shirt during his two years at United – but his subsequent switch to arch-rivals Manchester City could be a bad omen.
    Other numbers
Chris Smalling’s No12 shirt could become available if he moves to Roma before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Andreas Pereira’s No15 shirt and Diogo Dalot’s No20 could be available after completing loan moves to Lazio and AC Milan respectively.

Gary Neville says Jadon Sancho transfer pursuit is ’embarrassing’ and Man Utd not acting like ‘smart clubs’ with deals

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has laid into his former employers as he labelled their pursuit of Jadon Sancho ’embarrassing’.
The Sky Sports pundit, 45, has hit out at the Red Devils who look set to miss out on the Borussia Dortmund ace despite four months of negotiations.

    2

BVB have been adamant they will only sell the 20-year-old should they receive a fee in the region of £108million.
It has been stated that the Red Devils have had a £91m bid rejected for Sancho – which has further infuriated Neville.
Speaking to Off The Ball about United, he said: “I just don’t think they’re smart enough and wise enough and agile enough in the market.”
Before adding: “They’re being outwitted in the market by the other clubs and if you lose recruitment you don’t win the league, it’s as simple as that.

“You can have a great coach but if you don’t get the right players you’re not going to win the league.”
Commenting on United’s hunt for Sancho, he said: “The Sancho thing is embarrassing.
“It’s been going on now for fourth months. It’s embarrassing, that.
“And then to put a bid in that gets rejected, the smart clubs, they have deals sorted behind the scenes, the agents are working hard, club officials are agreed on things and when the bids goes in it gets accepted, it’s done.

    2

Gary Neville has hit out at United’s pursuit of England international Sancho

“Who puts bids in nowadays that aren’t accepted? That doesn’t happen that often. Very rarely.
“Generally clubs have the deal sorted, the agents knows what the player’s getting, the player knows what the club are getting, the club knows what the other club are getting.
“I just don’t understand it at all, it’s not great. That’s why I’ve been critical.”
Wayne Rooney has advised United to forget signing Sancho with the window to close on Monday.
United still haven’t made a breakthrough in their quest to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles, as they continue to haggle over the price.
But the club are closing in on a deal to bring in free agent Edinson Cavani on a two-year deal.
