      Man Utd ‘in talks over Nikola Milenkovic transfer’ and told Fiorentina defender will cost just £30m

      MANCHESTER UNITED have opened talks over a deal for Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic, according to reports.
      The Serbian centre-back has been a star in Tuscany since signing from Partizan Belgrade in 2017, drawing interest from a number of clubs.

      Manchester City, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have all been named in reports on the 23-year-old.

      According to transfer journalist Constantin Eckner, Milenkovic’s representatives are in talks with the Red Devils over a summer move.
      However, a number of teams are also said to be in contact to gauge a bid.
      Fiorentina would demand a fee of £30million for the player, it is reported.

      A defender has been high on United’s wish list for some time, particularly amid criticism of Victor Lindelof.
      Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have made a better fist of a title fight this season but the backline has been an issue, conceding the eighth-highest number of goals in the Premier League.
      Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde has been linked as well as Milenkovic, but like the Serb he will attract wide-ranging interest this summer.
      Fiorentina have remained lodged in mid-table for much of the season, of which the defender has played 24 games and kept five clean sheets.

      Milenkovic’s contract runs only to 2022 and Viola sporting director Daniele Prade claimed earlier this month that renewal discussions are underway.
      He told reporters: “We are talking about it, these are situations that we will face but right now we have to think only of the pitch.
      “The team is responding, some results have been excellent, others less so. We just think about playing.”

      Man Utd and Liverpool set for Raphinha transfer battle but Leeds desperate to keep star after amazing debut season

      LEEDS star Raphinha could become the subject of a transfer battle between Manchester United and Liverpool, according to reports.

      The Whites forked out £17million for Raphinha last year following a single season in France.
      Scoring a winner past Everton in only his second start for the club, he has gone on to bag five goals and five assists this season.

      Netting again versus Southampton in midweek, the Brazilian revealed a heartfelt tribute to Ronaldinho’s mother after she passed away aged 71.

      Man Utd ‘hope to land Jules Kounde on the cheap with club unwilling to meet Sevilla star’s £68m transfer release clause’

      MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly remain keen on signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde – though they are refusing to match his £68million release clause.
      It is understood that the 22-year-old is on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s shortlist in the summer as he looks to bolster his backline.

      Kounde – who has featured 33 times for the LaLiga outfit this term – is widely regarded to be one of the best defensive prospects in world football.
      Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the hunt to nab the France youth international, but it is United that are believed to be leading the race to secure his services.
      But according to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils – who are also interested in Los Blancos pair Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane – are reluctant to pay his £68m release clause.
      They state that the Premier League side are mindful of paying inflated prices during the coronavirus crisis, and hope to bring him in for cheaper.

      Sevilla know they may have to sell to raise funds by offloading Kounde after losing money due to Covid, but are refusing to let him go for less than his market value.
      It was reported last month that United were willing to fork out £61m for Kounde in their quest to find a partner for Harry Maguire.
      United’s rivals Manchester City were desperate to bring the defender to England in September, but they failed in a £46m offer.
      Sevilla held out for Kounde’s release clause, which prompted the Citizens to turn their attention to signing Ruben Dias from Benfica.

      Speaking at the time, Sevilla chief Monchi said: “An offer from English football has arrived, we have assessed it and rejected it.
      “Although it is more than double the investment we made 12 months ago, we consider it to be insufficient.
      “If more offers arrive, we will assess it and decide, as we always do.
      “We are not afraid to sell, because that is what we have done over the last two decades and that is what has allowed us to grow.
      “It is our model, selling in order to grow. But we want to sell for a significant amount so that we can reinvest those amounts in new players who in turn improve the squad.”

      Dybala’s contract expires in 2022 but injury issues are hampering his chances of signing a new deal in the coming weeks.
      Juve managing director Fabio Paratici has admitted that the club are concerned by his fitness woe.
      Talks over a new contract are taking place but could continue for ‘months’.
      He said: “Paulo still has a few problems – it’s like he’s on a swing.

      “Some days he’s better and others he’s worse. He seemed okay [last week], then he felt some pain again.
      “We have spoken [about this contract], we have been speaking and will continue to speak in the next few days and months.”

      Having been named on the bench for the Champions League defeat at Porto, 27-year-old Dybala again found himself ruled out of Monday’s victory over Crotone.

      It was the 13th game he has missed due to injury in a turbulent campaign that has produced only three goals for the typically prolific forward.
      Dybala is only two strikes away from reaching 100 Juventus goals, a feat achieved by only 12 players in the club’s prestigious history.
      It is thought that the Old Lady will sell the attacker if he cannot agree a new deal by the summer.

      Currently eight points behind in the title race and suffering from major pandemic-inflicted financial problems, the end of the season could herald a squad overhaul at Allianz Stadium.

      However, questions have been raised over Alaba’s ability to play in the middle of a back-four in the ultra-physical Premier League, with John Barnes one pundit to suggest he’d struggle.
      In midfield, Solskjaer appears more than happy with his deep duo of Fred and Scott McTominay, with Nemanja Matic providing more than capable back-up.
      With Bruno Fernandes roaming behind the striker and Marcus Rashford on the left, the United boss has no worries there either.
      However, United have lacked some genuine width on the right flank, with natural centre-forward Mason Greenwood preferred to wide-man Daniel James.
      Sancho would comfortably slip in on the right-flank forging an impressive front-four with current Dortmund team-mate Haaland replacing the struggling Anthony Martial up front.
      Edinson Cavani has been United’s No1 striker in recent weeks, but his contract expires at the end of the season, with talks over an extension believed to be ongoing.

      MANCHESTER UNITED will target a centre-back, right-winger and forward in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
      With United falling 10 points behind rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the areas he wants to strengthen ahead of next season.

      Journalist Andy Mitten reports Solskjaer is set to meet his bosses to discuss individual targets in the next few weeks.
      At centre-back, ESPN reported last week United have drawn up a five-man shortlist of potential partners for £80m Harry Maguire.
      Sevilla stalwart Jules Kounde tops that list if reports in Spain are to be believed, with United weighing up a £61million offer for the 22-year-old.
      Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, out of contract this summer, and his Madrid team-mate Raphael Varane are also targets.

      Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings and Braga defender David Carmo, both left-footed, are also being tracked by United.
      ESPN claimed this week Solskjaer would prefer to sign a left-footed centre-back this summer, and United opted out of the race to sign Bayern Munich-bound Dayot Upamecano as a result.
      Bayern’s David Alaba, also out of contract at the end of the season, would fit the bill but the Austria international is believed to have a verbal agreement with Real Madrid.
      On the right, German newspaper Bild claims United have put together a package to tempt Bayern winger Kingsley Coman away from the Allianz Arena.

      But Dortmund are unlikely to be as willing to let go of star striker and goalscoring machine Erling Haaland.
      The Norway international, also 20, is believed to have a £68m release clause in his BVB contract but it does not activate until 2022.

      Solskjaer admitted earlier this month he was ‘following’ Haaland, having worked with him for two seasons at Molde earlier in his career.
      Haaland’s two goals against Sevilla in the Champions League in midweek took him to an absurd 27 goals in 25 games this season, including 17 in the Bundesliga.
      One goal ahead of Haaland in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva, who has emerged as a surprise target for United.
      The Portuguese forward, 25, has 19 goals and five assists in competitons this season.
      Frankfurt reportedly want around £26m for Silva, but United will face competition from Atletico Madrid for the former AC Milan man.
