Man Utd ‘launch improved Jadon Sancho transfer bid worth more than £75m’ but Dortmund demand ‘non-negotiable’ £86m fee

MANCHESTER UNITED have submitted a bid worth more than £75million for Jadon Sancho, according to reports. As revealed by SunSport this month, £350,000-a-week personal terms have already been agreed between the player and the Old Trafford club.
Manchester United have reportedly made a formal approach for Jadon SanchoCredit: Reuters
And German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten state a formal offer has been lodged for United’s No1 summer transfer target.
United have bid an initial £67m for Sancho, with add-ons taking the overall value of the deal to over £75m.
Dortmund, however, want a fee closer to £86m – with more money guaranteed rather than in performance-related bonuses.
This figure is £22m less than the £108m the Bundesliga side wanted last summer when a deal could not be agreed.
But a year on, United are confident of securing a deal for the England wide man who is currently at the Euros.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano added negotiations are still ongoing but the clubs are ‘confident and optimistic’ of reaching an agreement with final details over payments needing ironing out.
Dortmund ideally want Sancho’s future to be sorted out by the middle of July before they head off on their pre-season training camp.
That would in turn give them time to find a replacement in time for the new season.

PSV’s English teenager Noni Madueke is being lined up for a potential swoop.
The former Tottenham youngster and England youth international joined PSV’s academy in 2018 after rejecting United’s offer.
He has progressed into the first team and made 31 appearances in 2020-21, scoring nine goals.
Former Arsenal youngster and Madueke’s PSV team-mate Donyell Malen could also be a target for Dortmund.
The Dutch winger, 22, joined PSV from Arsenal in 2017.
His progression in recent years has been remarkable, racking up 55 goals in 116 appearances and is already the vice-captain of the club.

Man Utd ace Jesse Lingard urged to seal transfer return to West Ham where he’s ‘loved’ by ex-Hammer Trevor Sinclair

JESSE LINGARD has been urged by Trevor Sinclair to seal a permanent transfer to West Ham and return to where he is ‘loved’. The playmaker made a move to the Hammers on loan in January after being frozen out of Manchester United’s squad.

With nine goals and five assists in 16 games, it leaves West Ham pushing to bring the England international to the club full-time.
And ex-Hammer Sinclair, who made 196 appearances for the Londoners, called for Lingard, linked also with PSG, to remain with David Moyes’ side.
He told talkSPORT: “Can I just say, Jesse Lingard, get to the capital of England rather than the capital of France.
“You are loved at West Ham. Get yourself there, boy.”
Lingard’s form was so impressive he was recalled to England’s camp in the summer as they prepared for the delayed European Championships.
But he just missed out on Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad, but was pictured supporting them in a pub.
Wearing a Declan Rice on his back, with a parrot on his shoulder, Lingard watched on as Raheem Sterling’s winner saw England beat Croatia 1-0.
After mixing in with the locals, he said: “It’s crazy, you don’t realise until like you’re actually in it how much it means to everyone.

    SANCHO LATEST
Manchester United are ‘very confident’ of signing Jadon Sancho.
According to the Mirror, further talks with Borussia Dortmund have provided cause for optimism despite an opening bid of £67million being turned down.
The Bundesliga giants are said to want most of the payment up front while personal terms were already agreed last year, meaning an update to the deal will not prove difficult.

    LOU ARE YA
Louis van Gaal is set to return to management five years after departing Manchester United.
The 69-year-old, who was sacked by the Red Devils in 2016 after winning the FA Cup, will step back into the dugout next season with SC Telstar.
Thougn Van Gaal will only be in charge of his former employers for one game as part of a fundraising drive.
Supporters can buy lottery tickets for the chance to serve as his assistant during the match.
Looking ahead to his return to football, SunSport takes a look at seven of the most mental Van Gaal moments during his coaching career.

    SPANISH INQUISITION
Gini Wijnaldum joked that Memphis Depay speaks to him in Spanish, ahead of the forward’s impending move to Barcelona.
Depay, 27, crashed Wijnaldum’s post-match interview, with the pair both on Netherlands duty.
The former Manchester United star whispered something to Wijnaldum, prompting a Dutch reporter to ask the new PSG star what Depay had said.
With a smile, Wijnaldum joked: “I do not know, I have not understood.
“He must have spoken in Spanish.”
Wijnaldum, who himself was in advanced negotiations with Barca before choosing PSG, was referring to Depay’s likely transfer to Catalonia.
    LION’S PRIDE
Jesse Lingard admits watching England in Euros action with the fans has given him a new understanding of how much playing for the country really means.
The Manchester United star said: “It’s crazy, you don’t realise until like you’re actually in it how much it means to everyone.
“Everyone’s watching the game and everyone’s in a beer garden, and the sun was out, the drinks are flying everywhere.
“You don’t realise how important it is to the whole nation, to be to be putting on that shirt and playing for your country.
“It gives you a different, different perspective. It’s crazy how many people really love football and want to be part of football.”

    READY TO RAM-BLE
Jose Mourinho has backed Sergio Ramos to be a huge success in the Premier League – but believes only a ‘top club’ can afford him.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “I can imagine we will see him [Ramos] playing in a very good club.
“Only a top club will be in a condition to fulfil his financial demands.
“Look to Thiago Silva – he is in a similar situation.
“He came to Chelsea, didn’t play every match, had a couple of little muscular issues.
“But in big matches he gave great stability and you can imagine how much he helped the team to develop, the young players, the leadership.
“Ramos is in a similar situation. He is even more physical than Thiago to compete with the Premier League demands.
“I have no doubt he can play with intensity and the demands of the Premier League. No doubts.”
    RAMOS RULES OUT TWO CLUBS
Sergio Ramos has immediately ruled out moving to Sevilla or Barcelona, following his Real Madrid exit.
The defender will leave the Bernabeu for good at the end of this month after 16 years of service.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, he said: “I’m not joining Sevilla, this is not even an option.
“Barcelona? Impossible. You’ll never see me at Barca. I don’t know which club I’m joining yet.
“When I’ll know, I’ll be the first to announce it. It’s not time to talk about my future.”

    YOUR IN DEMAND
Leicester are hoping Youri Tielemans will sign a new contract amid transfer interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
The midfielder, 24, enjoyed a stunning season for the Foxes.
As reported by the Leicester Mercury, the Foxes are doing their best to tie Tielemans down in the East Midlands.
He has two years left to run on his current contract and the club want to improve his deal to fend off potential interest.
    BELLI RUB
Jude Bellingham says it was an ‘easy’ decision to reject Manchester United – despite Sir Alex Ferguson giving him a guided tour of the club.
The 17-year-old midfielder left Birmingham City for Borussia Dortmund last summer and has gone on to shine in the German top-flight.
He said: “To be fair, it was a decision that was quite easy in the end.
“I think if you look at Dortmund’s track record with young players and the way they develop them, it was the obvious answer.
“Obviously at the time it’s hard to see it like that because you’ve got so many other options.
“But my strength of character, I’d probably say it comes from my parents and stuff.”
    NEY WAY
Scott McTominay has revealed all on his sparring match with Neymar in the Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Old Trafford last year featured plenty of toing-and-froing between the pair, which the Scot has opened up on.
He told The Athletic: “I do quite like verbal sparring with opponents.
“I had a run-in with Neymar when Paris Saint-Germain came to Old Trafford last season.
“He ended up grabbing me. You could see his head was gone for a moment in the way he was so aggressive.
“There was a lot of talking going on — words that your mum or dad might not like to hear. But that is part of the enjoyment of football, of competition. He’s trying to beat me, and I’m trying to stop him.”

    REAL DEAL
Manchester United could miss out on long-term target Raphael Varane after Sergio Ramos’ dramatic exit from Real Madrid.
Madrid’s decision to end Ramos’ 16-year stay in the Spanish capital has forced club president Florentino Perez to rethink Varane’s future at the club.
The club has now opened talks with the France international over a new contract to fill the void left by Ramos, which could bring an end to Man Utd’s interest in the player.
Talks previously haven’t progressed well with Madrid, and at one point an exit looked inevitable for the 28-year-old.
Varane will most likely form a centre-back partnership with new signing David Alaba, who signed as a free agent from Bayern Munich.
Either way, returning boss Carlo Ancelotti has a defensive headache to sort out.
    BRU THE ONE
Bruno Fernandes has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo – but insisted the Portuguese team is paramount.
The Juventus forward scored twice against Hungary in their opening Euro 2020 game, even bagging penalty rights over the Manchester United spot-kick specialist.
And Fernandes said: “Ronaldo is influential, as always.
“He is another one who wants to do his best and is making a difference.
“The most valuable player in the national team is the ‘we’. The ‘we’ is the most important, there are many Is, but the ‘us’ is what counts.”

    THE HEAT IS ON
Tom Heaton will soon be announced as a Manchester United player.
According to BBC Sport, the anticipated deal to bring in the ex-Red Devil from Aston Villa as a free transfer is near completion.
The goalkeeper is expected to provide back-up to David De Gea and Dean Henderson.
    SHAW ENOUGH
Luke Shaw is reportedly in line for a start against Scotland tonight.
The defender sat out England’s win over Croatia but Gareth Southgate may shift things around for this Wembley clash.
Steve Clarke’s men play with a back five and England could follow suit with Reece James also coming in.
According to Sky Sports, it is James and Shaw likely to set up alongside Harry Maguire in defence.
    HAK’D OFF
Manchester United Hakan Calhanoglu is set to be offered a REDUCED deal by AC Milan.
A lacklustre Euro 2020 performance with Turkey has left the out-of-contract midfielder’s options limited, as reported by Tuttosport.
The Rossoneri’s new offer is said to be weighted towards performance related bonuses rather than a high basic salary.

    VA-RANE DANCE
Reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid are increasingly resigned to selling Raphael Varane.
After letting Sergio Ramos go, Carlo Ancelotti is set to have David Alaba and Jesus Vallejo introduced to his defence next season.
And Cadena SER claim Varane has already informed them that he does not want to sign a new contract.
With his deal up in 2022, the Frenchman rejected a renewal offer earlier this year.
    MAC BACKING
Scott McTominay has praised Bruno Fernandes’ role in leading the Manchester United team.
Writing in The Athletic, the midfielder talked up the instant impact his team-mate had when arriving at Old Trafford last year.
He said: “Bruno Fernandes is always communicating. Sometimes in strong terms!
“But Bruno is Bruno, he can say what he wants. He is a top personality. A lot of the things we’ve been doing well at United, he’s been firmly at the heart of them. Big credit to him.
“As soon as he walked through the door he was practising hard, doing everything to the best of his abilities. He revels in that competitive edge.
“You can tackle him hard, you can talk back to him, and he still loves you. He never holds back with anything and that’s the sign of a true Manchester United player.”

    JADON INCOMING
Manchester United are ‘very confident’ of signing Jadon Sancho.
According to the Mirror, further talks with Borussia Dortmund have provided cause for optimism despite an opening bid of £67million being turned down.
The Bundesliga giants are said to want most of the payment up front while personal terms were already agreed last year, meaning an update to the deal will not prove difficult.
    WOOD YOU KINDLY?
Ed Woodward hailed fans ‘the lifeblood of the game’ after the club’s financial losses were confirmed.
The outgoing executive vice-chairman is optimistic about the prospect of fans returning to football grounds in much greater numbers following losses of £21.7million.
He said: “The absence of fans over the past year has proved that they are the lifeblood of the game.
“Following the successful return of limited numbers at the end of last season, and continued trials of increased crowds at sports events this summer, we remain optimistic about the prospect of fans returning to Old Trafford in larger numbers going forwards.
“With the foundations for long-term success in place, including significant initiatives to strengthen engagement with our supporters, we look forward to the upcoming season.”

    IN THE RED
Manchester United have posted a £21.7million loss due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The absence of fans inside Old Trafford has seen United’s matchday sales fall to just £1.6m, down from £29.1m the year prior.
Man Utd’s matchday, commercial and sponsorship revenue slump all saw drops of £27.5m, £10.5m and £8.9m.
Figures from January to March 2021 show that Man Utd made £118.3million compared to £123.7m the year before, a revenue fall of 4.4%.
But an increase in broadcasting revenue – five additional games broadcasted – slightly softened the financial blow.
    IN-SAN-ITY
Manchester City are the ‘only winner’ if they decide to go head to head with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho.
That is according to former City star Paul Stewart, who has told Football Fancast that his old club would be streets ahead in cutting a deal.
He said: “There’s only one winner if both clubs are going for him and that’s Manchester City, and I would like to see him back in the Premier League.
“I think he’s one of the best right-sided players out there and he’s gone away and proved it.”

    WHO’S IN ACTION TODAY?
Harry Maguire is racing back to fitness for England’s game with Scotland tonight.
The Manchester United star last played in the Red Devils’ trip to Aston Villa in early May and missed the Europa League final.
Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw will also hope to make the starting XI having been substitutes for the win over Croatia.
On the other side, Scott McTominay is expected to keep his place in the Scots’ side.
    GOOD MORNING RED DEVILS FANS
Man United target Sergio Ramos claims he wanted to stay at Real Madrid – but didn’t sign his contract extension in time.
Speaking to the Spanish press, Ramos said: “The offer was accepted but it had a use-by date.
“They informed us a week ago that the offer had run-out. I don’t know why it had an expiry date.
“Maybe I interpreted it wrongly or I didn’t understand it but no one told me.”
Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek’s agent has labelled reports linking the midfielder with a move away from Man United as ‘bulls***’.
VI transfer expert Simon Zwartkruis said: “He [the agent] told me the rumours are complete bull**t. Donny had a discussion with his manager about next season.
“[Solskjaer told him] he simply needs to get fully fit quickly, in order that right from day one he will be the strong Van de Beek who United signed last year.”
Finally, Harry Maguire is ready to make his injury comeback for England against Scotland today.
The Man United captain beamed: “I feel good. I’m back available, been training and I’m looking forward to it.
“Obviously, the injury was a setback club-football-wise.
“Internationally, I wanted to come into this with a lot of games under my belt with full fitness.
“I’ve done a few sessions now and feel like my fitness is there, so I’m available for the game.”
    DEP IN THE DEEP END
Man Utd flop Memphis Depay wasted a glorious chance for Netherlands in their 2-0 victory over Austria at Euro 2020.
The Dutchman opened the scoring in Amsterdam before Denzel Dumfries confirmed his country’s spot in the last 16.
But Depay won’t be able to forget this horror miss any time soon as he closes in on a free switch to Barcelona.

    RAPH RIDE
Man Utd are kicking on with a busy summer in the transfer market amid talk of a bid for Raphael Varane.
The Manchester Evening News claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed with a £50million bid for the Real Madrid star.
However, Varane is refusing to commit to a new deal, with his current contract expiring in 2022.
And an offer of around £80m could be enough to bring the French World Cup winner to Old Trafford.

    DANCE A HIG
Gonzalo Higuain claims the only way to play alongside Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona icon Lionel Messi is to ‘serve’ them obediently.
Higuain told Bobo TV: “I was fortunate to play with both.
“They are at a level so high that you have to adapt them to serve them.
“With Messi and Ronaldo to the side have at the least three or four goal situations a game, if you ‘re smart and you understand.
“For me it was a privilege.”

    RETURN OF THE MAG
Gareth Southgate has revealed Harry Maguire has returned to England training ahead of their huge Euro 2020 clash with Scotland.
Maguire has not played since early May after suffering ligament damage while playing for Man United.
Southgate confirmed: “This morning we had 26 players training which is where you want to be.
“Maguire has trained with no reaction.”

    DONE DEAL
Former Man United star Ashley Young has rejoined old side Aston Villa on a free transfer.
The veteran defender left Inter Milan despite being offered a new deal by the Italian champions.
And Young has instead penned a year-long contract to play for Dean Smith’s men at Villa Park.

    FELIX FINE
Man City will bid for Atletico Madrid superstar Joao Felix if they cannot secure Tottenham’s Harry Kane, according to reports.
Eurosport claims City could offer Bernardo Silva in exchange for his Portugal teammate.
That would leave Kane still available, albeit for a huge transfer fee.
Kane has been linked with Man United and Chelsea since telling Spurs he wants to leave.

    NOT SO SHAW
Luke Shaw was worried he was going to miss Euro 2020 after rupturing his wrist ligaments in the Europa League final.
Man United’s left-back told TalkSport: “[I was worried about missing the Euros] a little bit at one point because when I was getting treatment at the club, obviously I had an MRI scan and what-not.
“The doc had a look at it and couldn’t see the problem where the main ligament was so he had to send it to a specialist.
“I thought, maybe if it is the bad one, then maybe I might have to have an operation or something.
“He didn’t say anything and I was a little bit panicky.
“But then obviously, the next morning, I’ve got the results and it wasn’t as bad as they thought, so I was fine.”

    KEEP YOUR BEEK OUT
Donny van de Beek’s agent has labelled reports linking the midfielder with a move away from Man United as ‘bulls***’.
VI transfer expert Simon Zwartkruis said: “He [the agent] told me the rumours are complete bull**t. Donny had a discussion with his manager about next season.

    GONE OFF
Man United target Sergio Ramos claims he wanted to stay at Real Madrid – but didn’t sign his contract extension in time.

    MAGIC MAGUIRE
Harry Maguire is ready to make his injury comeback for England against Scotland tomorrow.

    GREEN SLEEVES
Mason Greenwood has made the list for this year’s Golden Boy award.
The Man United striker finished 12th in 2020 as Erling Haaland scooped the trophy.
Greenwood has now been joined by teammate Amad Diallo on the shortlist.
But there are no other United players involved.

    BELE ACHE
Barcelona have reportedly made little progress in transfer talks with Man United target Ousmane Dembele
The Frenchman is under contract at the Nou Camp until 2022.
And Marca claims Dembele could be sold this summer if he fails to sign an extension.

    WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A WAY
Brandon Williams has revealed what drives him to be better every day.
The full-back seems to be edging his way towards reaching his potential and says the competitive edge at Manchester United helps push him on.

    ARE LOU KIDDING?
Louis van Gaal is set to make a return to management – five years after being sacked by Manchester United.
The 69-year-old will take charge of Dutch second-tier club SC Telstar next season. However, Van Gaal will boss the club – based in North Holland – for just one game as part of a fundraising drive.
Supporters can buy lottery tickets for the chance to serve as his assistant during the match.
Van Gaal played in midfield for Telstar in the 1977-78 season before joining Sparta Rotterdam. And now he’s set to return as manager for a one-off fixture.
The Dutchman told fans: “If you want to make a mess of a game alongside me, buy a lottery ticket.”
The tickets cost £2.50 each, with the draw to be made on July 17.

    RAPH-LE TICKET
Manchester United are kicking on with a busy summer in the transfer market amid talk of a bid for Raphael Varane.
Varane, 28, has been a star at Real Madrid for a decade and boasts a trophy cabinet containing four Champions League titles, three LaLiga crowns and a World Cup.
The Red Devils are determined to sign a new partner for Harry Maguire this summer, in the hope of generating a Premier League title challenge.
It had been reported by Manchester Evening News that an offer of £50million was sent to Real – and swiftly rejected.
Los Blancos were said to have asked for £80m despite their player being just a year away from leaving for free. Talks over a new contract have failed to progress and it had previously been suggested that Real would cash in if Varane refused to sign.
A fee of £80m would be difficult to meet for any team in the pandemic crisis, including United who are also discussing a deal for Jadon Sancho.

    REAL EMOTION
Manchester United target Sergio Ramos broke down in tears as he emotionally bid goodbye to Real Madrid after 16-year trophy-laden years with the club.
Madrid confirmed their captain would leave at the end of the season when his contract expired.
Ramos, 35, held a press conference to say his farewells and was reduced to tears with his wife Pilar Rubio and their children present.
He said: “I’ll always keep Real Madrid in my heart. A marvellous stage in my life is over, but a new exciting future awaits and I am looking forward to showing my level and winning some more trophies.
“You’re never prepared to say adios to Real Madrid but the moment has arrived. This is a ‘adieu’ as sooner or later I will return.
“I would like to thank the fans, they carried me in their arms at all times. I would have liked to say goodbye at the Bernabeu. But I will always carry you in my heart.”

    DON AND DUSTED
Donny van de Beek is set to stay at Manchester United next season – with the midfielder’s agent branding departure rumours ‘complete bull***t’.
Holland international Van de Beek has struggled to live up to his £40million fee since arriving from Ajax last year.
The 24-year-old has made most of his 19 Premier League appearances as a brief substitute. Arsenal have been linked with a summer move for the 19-cap playmaker.
But Dutch magazine Voetbal International has now revealed Van de Beek has held talks with Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to discuss plans for next season.
VI transfer expert Simon Zwartkruis said he has spoken with the player’s advisor about the transfer speculation. Zwartkruis said: “He told me the rumours are complete bull**t. Donny had a discussion with his manager about next season.
“[Solskjaer told him] he simply needs to get fully fit quickly, in order that right from day one he will be the strong Van de Beek who United signed last year.”
    WHAT YOU GUNNER DO?
Roy Keane has described Patrick Vieira as a ‘typical Arsenal bully’ while reminiscing over their Premier League title battles.
One incident saw the pair clash before a 2005 meeting between Arsenal and Manchester United at Highbury after Gary Neville told Keane Vieira had chased him off the pitch after the warm-up.

Cristiano Ronaldo was subjected to homophobic abuse during Portugal’s win over Hungary, according to reports.
The Juventus superstar, 36, lined up for the reigning European champions in their Group F opener on Tuesday.

The report states there were chants of ‘Cristiano Ronaldo, homosexual’. Ronaldo was clearly unfazed by the crowd’s claimed attacks.
He responded by scoring twice as Portugal broke the Hungarian resistance with three late goals.

    VAMOS RAMOS
Manchester United are in contention to sign Sergio Ramos.
That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve installed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as second favourites to clinch his signature. The 35-year-old is leaving Real Madrid after 16 trophy-laden years with the club.
Ramos arrived at the Bernabeu from Sevilla in 2005 for just over £24million and made 671 appearances, scoring 101 goals. He lifted a remarkable 22 trophies including five La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and the Copa del Rey twice.
But with his contract set to expire in a few weeks – Ramos has taken the decision to leave Real Madrid, who confirmed his departure in a brief statement.
A statement from the club read: “Real Madrid announces that tomorrow, Thursday 17 June, at 12:30 pm, an act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Perez.
“Sergio Ramos will then appear before the media in a virtual press conference.”

    HAPPY DAYS HARRY
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has declared himself fit for England’s clash with Scotland on Friday.
The former Leicester centre-back has been out with an ankle ligament injury but is ready to be called upon by Gareth Southgate.
He said: “I feel good. I’m back available, been training and I’m looking forward to it.
“Obviously, the injury was a setback club-football-wise.
“Internationally, I wanted to come into this with a lot of games under my belt with full fitness.

A quick glance saw the 36-year-old carry on down the tunnel before Portugal played Hungary in their opening game.
The reigning champions left it late as they kicked off their campaign with a 3-0 win.
Raphael Guerreiro opened the scoring on 84 minutes before Ronaldo’s double put the result beyond doubt.

    DEM DILEMMA
Man Utd have received a transfer boost with reports stating Ousmane Dembele and Barcelona have made ‘no progress’ over a new contract.
The Frenchman, 24, is currently under contract at the Nou Camp until next summer.
Barcelona are desperate not to let the player they bought for an initial £97million in 2017 walk away for free when his deal expires.
But according to Marca, negotiations regarding an extension got underway on Tuesday and have not started well.
Both sides will be hopeful of reaching an agreement – but if not, Barcelona will look to cash in this summer, especially considering their dire financial situation.

Harry Maguire is ready to make his injury comeback for England against Scotland tomorrow.

For Keane, the situation was not of pressing importance until Vieira continued his tirade in the tunnel.
The Irishman said: “To be honest, I was trying to mind my own business. I was focusing on the game and was quite calm, getting in the zone.
“Gary was a little bit upset and worried. I think I said to Gary, ‘Just forget about it, we need to focus on the game’.

    GOOD MORNING RED DEVILS FANS
Real Madrid have confirmed Sergio Ramos will leave the Spanish capital this summer.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with the player, although local rivals Manchester City and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested.
Kieran Trippier, meanwhile, is rumoured to be worried about Atletico Madrid pricing him out of a move to Manchester United.
The Spanish champions are said to want £34million for the defender – far more than United are reportedly willing to pay.
Arsenal have made their move for Ben White, reportedly having a first offer of £40m rejected by Brighton for the United target.
And Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum reckons the ex-United star has at least three years left in him.
He’s been linked with a return to Manchester this summer.
But it looks like any potential deal for Kingsley Coman is off as Bayern Munich are believed to have no interest in selling the player this summer.
That may encourage United to complete the signing of Jadon Sancho, who – according to reports – remains their No1 target.
    SCOT FREE
Harry Maguire gave England a massive Euros boost by insisting he is fit to play against Scotland on Friday.
The Manchester United skipper has made a rapid recovery from the ankle ligament injury he picked up at Aston Villa last month.
Yet the central defender is still unlikely to start against the Scots, with boss Gareth Southgate looking certain to keep faith with John Stones and Tyrone Mings.
Asked if he is fit to start at Wembley, Maguire, 28, said: “Yes definitely.
“I’ve done a few sessions now and feel like my fitness is there, so I’m available for the game.
“The injury was a setback club football-wise. Internationally, I wanted to come into this with a lot of games under my belt with full fitness.
“But I feel good and I’ve been in full training.”

    ‘FROM BADGER TO BOND’
Roy Keane stunned ITV viewers by transforming from “raggedy badger to smooth Bond” by ditching his bushy beard.
While Italy brushed off Switzerland, many armchair fans were bristling at the Manchester United legend’s unexplained new Keane-shaven look.
One suggested the former hardman had “shaved his beard because he was annoyed you all said he looked handsome”.
And in another reference to Keane’s cut-throat reputation as a player, one viewer tweeted: “He’ll probably have a full beard by the end of the game.”
One wondered: “Does Roy Keane just take his beard off and let it run wild for a couple of weeks every six months or so?
“Last night he looked like a raggedy old badger today smoother than Bond.”

    JADON SANCHO LATEST
Reports suggest Manchester United could seal the transfer of Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho very soon.
That is according to The Times, as ‘Dortmund believe that a deal could be finalised next week’.
And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that ‘United’s camp have been in contact with Sancho over the weekend’.
Talks with Dortmund over a potential €95million (£81m) price, bonus details and payment structure will continue in the next days.
But the Red Devils’ initial £60m won’t be enough to complete the transfer.

RAMOS – WHERE WILL HE GO?
Manchester United are believed to be desperate to sign a centre back to improve the defence and Sergio Ramos has been a long-term target.
Co-chairman Joel Glazer has promised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer funds in the transfer market.
Ramos is now a free agent but would still demand huge wages wherever he ends up.
Pep Guardiola is keen to bring in more experience and leadership into his squad, especially with Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero leaving.
And the 180-cap international – with 671 Real Madrid appearances – certainly fits the bill with a two-year deal reportedly being offered.
Paris Saint-Germain may also look to try and secure a deal.
BREAKING NEWS – RAMOS LEAVES REAL
Sergio Ramos has left Real Madrid.
The LaLiga club have confirmed his departure.
The 35-year-old played more than 670 games for the Spanish giants in a 16-year spell.
And he’s been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum reveals son will play for three more years but refuses to say where amid Man Utd transfer links

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S mum revealed her son will play for another three years – as his club future remains up in the air. The Juventus forward is still one of the most lethal finishers in the game and has previously revealed a desire to play into his 40s.

Ronaldo, known for his strict diet and fitness regime, kickstarted his Euros campaign with two goals in Portugal’s opening match 3-0 win over Hungary.
Cheering him on was his mother Maria Dolores, who predicted her boy will be playing at least until he is 39.
She told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport: “Cristiano is in good shape, he will play three more years.”
Ronaldo has one year left on his current Juve contract and finished the season with 36 goals in 44 appearances.
But it was a disastrous campaign for the Italian giants, who for the first time in TEN YEARS failed to win the Serie A title.
Rookie manager Andrea Pirlo, who has since been replaced by the returning Max Allegri, even gave Ronaldo a spell on the bench.
It left the former Real Madrid and Manchester United winger contemplating his next step.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a return to their United or boyhood club Sporting are among his options.

And PSG are monitoring his future, with a move expected should Kylian Mbappe, 22, leave for Real Madrid.
Earlier in the year, Juve looked poised to extend Ronaldo’s contract by a year, but no talks have materialised.
United are also keeping tabs on their former player, and would be willing to include Paul Pogba, 28, as part of the deal, Gazzetta say.
But Ronaldo is said to earn near £540,000-a-week, which could cause a stumbling block in any move.

    BRIGHT IDEA
Brighton have reportedly rejected a £40million bid from Arsenal for defender and Manchester United target Ben White.
Sky Sports claims the Gunners launched their ambitious offer on Wednesday for Graham Potter’s England star.
But Brighton rejected the offer after reportedly slapping White with a £50m price-tag following his Euros call-up.
However, it’s added that Arsenal remain undeterred and are expected to return with an improved offer.

    NOT SO GREEN
Mason Greenwood has been named on the 100-man longlist for the 2021 Golden Boy award.
The Manchester United forward, 19, was dealt a cruel blow after being forced to withdraw from England’s Euro 2020 squad due to injury.
Greenwood had been named in the 33-man provisional squad and had been tipped to make the final 26.
But the Old Trafford whiz has been given some good news after being named among the 100 nominees for the prestigious Golden Boy award.
Last year, Greenwood finished 12th as Erling Haaland won the crown.
But the young striker will have another chance of glory in 2021 after he was named as one of 15 Premier League representatives on the list.

    PRE-SEASON BREAK
England’s Prem stars will get a two-week break next season – although not an official one.
But overseas players from outside Europe face a globe-trotting fortnight while team-mates have their feet up.
The FA and Prem agreed to a three-season trial of the “mid season player break” starting in February 2020.
But the impact of the pandemic on last season’s congested fixtures meant the trial was temporarily abandoned – and there is no return of the “split” fixtures for the 2021-22 campaign.
Instead, the new fixtures list showed consecutive weekends at the end of January and beginning of February without Prem games.
That is partly because the FA Cup fourth round will take place on the weekend of February 5th and 6th.
But with Fifa having squeezed in a series of catch-up World Cup qualifiers in Africa, Asia, South America, Concacaf and Oceania for the last week of January, it meant no Prem games were possible for January 29.
With League matches due on the weekend of January 22 and then again in the midweek starting Tuesday February 8, it could see a number of Gareth Southgate’s squad having as much as 17 days off if they are rested for the FA Cup tie.
Other Europeans will also be able to take advantage of the rest.
But the likes of Egypt’s Mo Salah, Korea’s Heung-min Son and Brazilians Ederson, Alisson and Richarlison will all be expected to head back to their home continents to play two or three 2022 qualifiers before returning to the UK.
    HEY JUDE
Luke Shaw has been impressed with Manchester United target Jude Bellingham on England duty.
“It’s unbelievable that he’s 17.” 🤯“We all say it around the hotel. We all feel like he is a man already. He’s so mature.”Luke Shaw says the England players are all in awe of @BellinghamJude’s talents. pic.twitter.com/fyfxuXXBZO— talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) June 16, 2021

    RUD BEHAVIOUR
Antonio Rudiger will escape action for his apparent “bite” on Paul Pogba.
Chelsea defender Rudiger appeared to nibble the back of Pogba’s neck and tweak his nipple in the latter stages of the first half of Germany’s opening group F defeat by France.
The incident was spotted by the cameras and looked at by the VAR officials on duty at Uefa’s Nyon base.
And despite the pictures being shared globally, Uefa have confirmed that no disciplinary case has been opened by inspectors, clearing Rudiger to face Portugal in Germany’s next game in Munich on Saturday.
    BELLI RUB
Chelsea are reportedly interested in deals for Manchester United targets Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland.
The Blues are long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund pair and tried to sign Bellingham, 17, before he moved to Germany.
That interest has not gone away following his quick adaptation to playing for one of the Bundesliga’s top clubs.
But the Blues will have to tread carefully in dealing with Dortmund, in the knowledge that they also hold the key to the future of Haaland.
As reported by Goal, Chelsea hope a good relationship can be struck up with the German team.
If they can find a mutually-beneficial route to signing Haaland, there is said to be optimism that Borussia will be more open to doing a deal for Bellingham further down the road.

    RUD AWAKENING
Antonio Rudiger has denied biting Paul Pogba during France’s 1-0 win over Germany.
He said: “I should not come close with my mouth to his back, no doubt about it.
“It looks unfortunate. Paul and I have talked about it as friends after the final whistle.”

    RON THE RECORD
Cristiano Ronaldo broke a number of records in Portugal’s win over Hungary.
When Ronaldo netted from the spot against Hungary, he became the oldest player to score a goal for Portugal at a major tournament aged 36 years, 130 days.
The record was previously set by Pepe at World Cup 2018 (35 years, 124 days)
Astonishingly, Ronaldo has scored at every single European Championships he’s ever played in.
He scored in his first ever match in the competition in a group stage match against the Greece in a shock 2-1 loss in 2004.
In 2021, his strike from 12-yards meant he has managed to score in five different Euros.
    EUR THE BEST
England stars Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho both make the most valuable Euro 2020 XI.
Sancho – a summer transfer target for Manchester United – is currently worth a sensational £86m.
Dortmund are looking to recoup that to the final penny, with United’s first bid of the year £11m short, at £75m.
But his £86m tag is enough for Sancho to make it into the Euro 2020 most valuable team worth €1.04BILLION (£890m) at right midfield.
On the opposite wing, France star Kylian Mbappe is the priciest star, valued at £137m.
The rest of the midfield is made up of Belgium star Kevin de Bruyne (£86m), Germany ace Joshua Kimmich and Holland’s Frenkie de Jong (both £77m).

    BRU CHEEKY BOY
Bruno Fernandes has fired a cheeky, light-hearted Euros warning at Manchester United team-mate Paul Pogba.
The pair are set to do battle at Euro 2020, having both been drawn in Group F with their respective nations.

    ROY OF THE TOE-VERS
Roy Keane has been teased after standing on his tip-toes for a photograph alongside Patrick Vieira.
The towering former Arsenal midfielder comes in at 6ft 3in, somewhat taller than the 5ft 8in Keane.

    RETURN TRIPP
Manchester United are close to signing Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier.
According to the Football Insider, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Trippier will be a good defensive addition.
The 30-year-old – currently with England’s Euro 2020 squad- helped Atletico to win LaLiga this season.
And he would also provide some much-needed competition for fellow right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
    OLD RIVALS
Manchester United couldn’t resist reminding Leeds United of the last time the two sides faced each other at Old Trafford.

    BEER WE GO
Paul Pogba mirrored Cristiano Ronaldo’s Coca-Cola snub by removing a Heineken beer bottle during his press conference.
The devout Muslim moved the beverage from the table in front of him following France’s 1-0 win against Germany on Tuesday night.
Pogba, who made a religious pilgrimage to Mecca along with Kurt Zouma in 2018, refused to endorse one of Euro 2020’s official sponsors as alcohol is forbidden for Muslims.
The 28-year-old has become the latest star to take a stance against the Euro’s sponsors after Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola placed in front of him.

    RUD BEHAVIOUR
Paul Pogba has claimed Antonio Rudiger ‘nibbled’ him during France’s 1-0 win over Germany.
He said: “I’m not crying for cards, yellow, red cards because of such actions.
“He nibbled, I think, a little bit on me. But we have known each other for a long time.
“I told the referee and he takes decisions and he took a decision. It’s over.
“It was a great match for us … and I didn’t want him to be suspended because of such a situation. It was towards the end of the match. We hugged each other and that’s it.”
    KING’S ORDERS
Manchester United have reportedly received a blow in their pursuit of Kingsley Coman with the Bayern Munich winger now expected to remain in Bavaria.
The French winger had been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena after claims he rejected a contract extension.
It has been stated that the 25-year-old believed the salary was too low, and he wanted to earning the same as £14.5million-a-year Leroy Sane.
This led the Red Devils to target the former Juventus ace as a cheaper alternative to Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.
But according to Goal, it appears it is Sancho or nothing for United with Coman considered as a key player in new Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann’s plans.
With Coman under contract until 2023, the Bundesliga champions are in no rush to sell the ex-Paris Saint-Germain man.
They will only part ways with the player should a potential suitor stump up a fee in the region of £60million.

    POGBOOM
Paul Pogba turned in a Man of the Match performance in France’s group stage opener against Germany.
The midfielder was immense in the midfield, alongside N’Golo Kante and Adrien Rabiot.
A Mats Hummels own goal was enough to seal victory for the world champions.

    GOOD MORNING
England have been dealt with a significant blow as Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been ruled out for the rest of Euro 2020 due to a hip injury.
Sheffield United keeper Aaron Ramsdale has been called-up as Henderson’s replacement.
The Red Devils’ shot-stopper has returned to Manchester after picking up the knock during training.
The 24-year-old was on the bench for the 1-0 win over Croatia.
Meanwhile, United could seal the transfer of Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho by the end of the week.
That is according to The Times, as ‘Dortmund believe that a deal could be finalised next week’.
And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that ‘United’s camp have been in contact with Sancho over the weekend’.
Talks with Dortmund over a potential €95m (£81m) price, bonus details and payment structure will continue in the next days.
But the Red Devils’ initial £60m won’t be enough to complete the transfer.
And Paris Saint-Germain star Keylor Navas is reportedly being monitored by United after his future was thrown into doubt.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to sign for PSG when his contract at AC Milan expires, potentially leaving Navas on the bench.
According to Marca, the Costa Rica international could be set for a move with Milan, Juventus and the Red Devils all keen to sign him.
The Manchester giants are set for a busy summer and a decision will need to be made on the futures of both goalkeepers Henderson and David de Gea.
Finally, United are close to signing Atletico Madrid and England right-back Kieran Trippier.
According to Football Insider, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Trippier will be a good defensive addition.
The 30-year-old – currently with England’s 26-man Euros squad- helped Atletico to win LaLiga this season.
And he would also provide some much-needed competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
    NAV SAID
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas has been linked with a move to Manchester United once more.
Navas came close to joining United a while back but a move from Real Madrid, with David de Gea going the other way, broke down due to an administrative error.
The Costa Rica international said: “This was one of the worst days of my life. I didn’t cry that day, but I did after all was said and done when I was with my wife.
“I was waiting in the airport even without suitcases. I was not on the plane, but I was near.
“In the end, after everything that happened, many complicated moments, we’re human and eventually the time comes when you burst”
    RETIREMENT PLANS
Manchester United star Edinson Cavani said he is going to retire after the 2022 World Cup.
Cavani said: “Honestly, that’s what I’m thinking. I believe every human being’s life is based on objectives, on desires you want to achieve, on arriving at certain goals.
“From a football perspective my aim at the national team level, and in general, is to go to the World Cup in Qatar and from there to step aside and dedicate myself to my family, my people, my things.
“I think this is the last dance”

    TRIPPIER CLOSE
Manchester United are close to signing Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier.
According to the Football Insider, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Trippier will be a good defensive addition.

And he would also provide some much-needed competition for fellow right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka
    MAGUIRE UPDATE
Manchester United star defender Harry Maguire has stepped up his training for England but is still likely to miss Friday’s clash with Scotland.
Maguire is still recovering from an ankle ligament injury he has been dealing with for a while, but was put through his paces by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.
The centre-back’s ongoing injury prevented him from playing in the Europa League Final against Villarreal.
The 28-year-old ace also had to sit out of England’s Euro 2020 kick-off match against Croatia
