Lingard is back at his boyhood club after a brilliant loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of last season reignited his career.
He scored nine goals in 16 appearances for the East London side and was the Premier League Player of the Month award for April.
It also earned Lingard an England recall as part of Gareth Southgate’s initial Euro 2020 squad.
He appeared in both warm-up friendlies against Austria and Romania but just failed to make the final cut for the tournament.
Lingard has recently enjoyed a holiday in Mykonos and headed back to United after a stint in quarantine after his jollies.
West Ham still want to sign the star permanently but have so far been unable to agree a fee with the Red Devils.
However, Lingard will be hoping to get back into the groove this weekend.

Man Utd close in on Raphael Varane AND Kieran Trippier transfers in £68m double swoop to bolster defence

And Kieran Trippier is also set to move to Old Trafford from Atletico MadridCredit: Getty
United look set to hand Real Madrid a £50million fee for Varane, 28, despite the French international centre-back having just one year left on his Bernabeu contract.
England full-back Trippier, 30, wants the move to Old Trafford after two successful years at Atletico Madrid — and a transfer worth £18m is in the final stages.
The two deals will take United’s spending to more than £140m this summer with the arrival of winger Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m.
Spanish giants Real initially wanted £60m for Varane but have to sell now to get a fee having lost Sergio Ramos to Paris Saint-Germain on a free.
Varane’s representatives are understood to have negotiated terms over a five-year deal.

Concerns over Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s distribution going forward and his defending of crosses led to boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pursuit of Trippier.
He also believes he could move Wan-Bissaka inside as part of a three-man backline.
Trippier can play right-back, left-back or wing-back and was monitored by United all last season as the ex-Tottenham player won LaLiga with Atletico.

Raphael Varane ‘gives Man Utd green light to start transfer negotiations’ after more than a decade at Real Madrid

RAPHAEL VARANE has reportedly agreed to start talks with Manchester United but only if Real Madrid give him permission. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with the Red Devils for some time but does not want to leave the Bernabeu on bad terms having spent more than a decade there.

Los Blancos’ wage bill is reportedly set to be slashed by more than a third which has thrown massive doubt over the Frenchman’s future at the club.
The financial impact of Covid-19 has hit the Spanish giants hard.
That and a huge stadium rebuild have left Real with mounting debt – and they have not paid a fee for a player for almost two years.
And as a result their LaLiga wage cap will be reduced from £403million to £255m next season, according to the Athletic.
That has seen Varane, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale all have their futures thrown up in the air.
Some reports suggest United have already started talks with the France international.
But Mercato say that is not the case and the 28-year-old will not start until Madrid say he can.
Real are reluctant to sell their French stalwart, but refuse to lose him for nothing when his contract expires next year.

He is currently still on his summer break, having played for France at Euro 2020. His side were eliminated by Switzerland.
United’s interest in Varane has been long standing – they were even contenders to sign him before he went to Madrid as a teenager in 2011.
The Red Devils were also keen to sign him in 2018, but couldn’t get a deal done. Madrid were initially thought to want £80million this summer.
But due to his contract situation, they are resigned to losing him for a lot less. United are believed to be working on a package worth around £50m.
And they hope to get the deal concluded ‘in the next few weeks’.
Varane could be United’s second addition of the summer, after they finally agreed a deal with Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.
They have also been linked with the likes of Pau Torres, as well as Varane’s compatriots Jules Kounde and Eduardo Camavinga.

Man Utd star Brandon Williams’ loan transfer to Southampton hits buffers with size of loan fee causing issues

BRANDON WILLIAMS’ loan move to Southampton has hit the skids – because of the size of the loan fee.Manchester United are understood to be looking for more than £2million to let another club borrow the versatile full-back.

Saints have been keen on the 20-year-old since last summer but see that price as too rich for their blood.
It means a deal is looking increasingly unlikely unless United reduce their demands.
That is despite Williams himself being keen to join as he is keen to play regular games, having started just TWO Premier League games last season.
It is believed he would still want to quit Old Trafford temporarily even if Alex Telles joins Jose Mourinho at Roma.
Norwich and Newcastle have also shown interest in loaning Williams.
The youngster has made 51 appearances for United in all competitions since making his professional debut against Rochdale in the League Cup in September 2019.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to let a number of youngsters head out on loan this summer.
He recently told the club website: “We’ve already lined up a few and some of them are still in discussions between us and the players about where is the best place to go.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham face a battle to sign Danny Ings and Jannik Vestergaard this summer – because of how their relationship with Southampton went sour this time last year over the sale of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Saints resented how Spurs went about their move to land Hojbjerg, who eventually left for North London in a £15million deal before going on to have a terrific season for club and country.
The St Marys outfit do not want to sell star man Ings anyway, despite his refusal to extend his contract which runs out next summer, unless they receive a huge bid they cannot refuse.
Hojbjerg’s Denmark team-mate Vestergaard, like Ings, has a year remaining on his contract.
Tottenham are also believed to be interested in ex-Swansea loanee Renato Sanches but face competition from North London rivals Arsenal.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s agent addresses Man Utd transfer links and says Italy star will ‘consider’ offers

GIOVANNI DI LORENZO is open to a potential Manchester United switch, according to a representative of the Italy international. The Napoli full-back, who was one of the Azzurri’s best performers during their triumphant Euro 2020 run, is reportedly attracting interest from Old Trafford.

Di Lorenzo, 27, was part of the team who beat England in a dramatic final penalty shootout at Wembley.
The versatile right-back, who began his playing career as a striker, made six match-winning appearances for Roberto Mancini’s side during the tournament.
United officials are thought to have been keeping tabs on the Serie A ace for more than a year with the club reportedly making contact with the player’s reps in March 2020.

And Di Lorenzo’s agent Mario Guiffredi hinted a bid for the player – who is reportedly valued at around £17million – could be considered if Old Trafford officials made an offer.
Guiffredi told Radio Marte: “I read about Manchester United but now it is newspaper talk.
“If there were real things, we would be the ones to communicate it to Napoli. At the moment no request has arrived.
“If offers arrive, we are obliged to take them into consideration, also in the interest of Napoli, because it is the president himself who has put everyone on the market.
“So, we feel we are on the market. If an appropriate offer arrives it’ll be discussed and considered.

“(President Aurelio) De Laurentiis spoke at the press conference explaining Napoli’s losses, and that all his players are transferable and that, if appropriate offers arrive, he will evaluate them himself.”
Di Lorenzo joined Napoli, who finished fifth in Serie A last season, in a £7m move from top-flight rivals Empoli in July 2019.
His current contract with the side is set to expire in June 2025.
In 2020 the Red Devils were thought to have been eyeing Di Lorenzo as potential cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The defender’s ability to play across the back four is thought to be appealing to the club.
Reports claim United are also interested in a possible swoop for Atletico Madrid and England star Kieran Trippier.
However, the club is thought to have been put off by Atletico’s £20million asking price for the lifelong Man United fan.

Real Madrid are reluctant to sell their French stalwart, but refuse to lose him for nothing when his contract expires next year.
United have been in negotiations for some time with the 28-year-old and his representatives.
A report emerged earlier this week that the two clubs ‘are not far off’ agreeing terms.
That said, Varane wanted to head straight to Manchester after his summer holidays, rather than have to return to pre-season training in Madrid.
Now Diario AS claims he has already begun house hunting in the North West.
The ace is currently still on his summer break after featuring for France at Euro 2020.
His much-fancied side were eliminated by Switzerland a fortnight ago in the last-16.
Man United’s interest in Varane has been long standing and they were first keen to sign him before he went to Madrid as a teenager in 2011 from Lens.

The Red Devils were also keen to sign him in 2018, but couldn’t get a deal done.
Madrid were initially demanding a fee of around £80million this summer.
But due to his contract situation, they are resigned to losing him for a lot less.
United are believed to be working on a package worth around £50m.
And they hope to get the deal concluded sooner rather than later.
They are also expected to officially announce the arrival of England winger Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund over the coming days after he completed a medical at Carrington this week.

He has now been given a three week holiday following his exploits with England in Euro 2020.
His first game in a Red Devils shirt will come on August 7 in a pre-season home friendly against Everton.
And United have now announced a price cut for that game and their home friendly with Brentford on July 28.
Tickets had previously been £30 for adults and £10 for under-16s but are now £20 for adults with kids getting in for free.
Season ticket holders will be charged only £10.
The chance to get a first glimpse of Sancho as a United player is sure to add to the interest in the Everton game.
He was one of three players to miss a penalty in the Euro 2020 shoot-out.
His performances for Borussia Dortmund particularly over the last two seasons has created an excitement among United fans at his arrival as they hope for a tilt at next season’s title.

The club announced yesterday that anyone who had already bought tickets at the higher price for the two home friendlies can either have their seat upgraded at no extra charge or have a refund.
Collette Roche, the club’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “The government announcement has enabled us to open up the stadium and this has given us an opportunity to offer these family-friendly ticket initiatives. We want to thank our loyal fans for their ongoing support and welcome those who will be attending Old Trafford for the first time.
“We are also putting the finishing touches on plans to recognise and reward those in the frontline who have served our community throughout the pandemic at these matches which will be announced in due course.”

Jadon Sancho completes Man Utd medical with £73million transfer to be confirmed within 48 hours

JADON SANCHO has completed his medical at Manchester United with an official announcement of his £73million move expected in the next 48 hours.Just two days after crucially missing a penalty kick in the Euro 2020 final shoot-out against Italy, Sancho was at United’s Carrington training ground on Tuesday to take the next step in his career.

There was no problem with the medical.
And now an official unveiling of him in the club’s new kit is imminent.
This ends a year-long pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund winger after United failed to land him last summer.
The Bundesliga club were asking over £100million which United refused to pay for such a young player.
They were always confident of the deal eventually going through with Sancho himself determined to make the move.
The 21-year-old will now have three weeks off before returning to training with his fellow Three-Lions stars Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford.
Having come through Watford and then Manchester City’s academy, Sancho was a star in the Bundesliga, scoring 50 goals in 137 appearances for Dortmund.
The signing is a major boost for Solskjaer, who just missed out on his first trophy as manager last season with his own penalty heartache in the Europa League Final.

But after improving in the league to finish runners-up he is confident of a title tilt this season.
Solskjaer said: “If you win a penalty shoot-out, that’s a successful season. If you lose it, it’s just doom and gloom.
“So, well, I’m sure the players will have recharged and know what’s up and we’re a team on the up, improving all the time.
“The coaches will be demanding as ever because standards need to keep going up. I’m sure other teams will be too.”
Solskjaer also backed Marcus Rashford after he also missed a spot-kick in the shootout.
