Man Utd outcast Phil Jones ‘proving to be UNSELLABLE with zero clubs willing to put in transfer offer for defender’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly struggling to convince ANY clubs to put in a transfer bid for forgotten man Phil Jones. The Manchester Evening News claim the 29-year-old is effectively unsellable as he has not played for the Red Devils in 18 months.
Manchester United are struggling to sell outcast defender Phil JonesCredit: Getty
Jones, who is tied to United for another two years, last featured in January 2020 having fallen out of favour before picking up a long-term knee injury.
And the England defender will fall even further down the pecking order when Raphael Varane arrives at Old Trafford from Real Madrid this week.
The Real Madrid star is set to partner Harry Maguire, with Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly staying on as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s preferred back-up options.

Jones still rakes in £4million-a-year after signing his latest deal a month before the Norwegian was installed as permanent boss in 2019.
And United have been unable to find anyone willing to take the centre-back – whose last game was a 6-0 FA Cup victory over Tranmere Rovers last year – off their hands.
SunSport previously reported that the ex-Blackburn star was one of TEN players the club wanted to sell this summer to fund moves for Kieran Trippier and Eduardo Camavinga.
Newcastle and Southampton had been made as joint-favourites to make a move for Jones but neither has yet launched an offer.
Former United boss David Moyes was also thought to be interested in reuniting with the 27-cap England international at West Ham.

Solskjaer gave Jones a glimmer of hope that he could claw his way back into the Red Devils reckoning after expressing his sympathy, having struggled with injury himself during his playing days.
He said: “If he can play 23s to start with, behind closed doors, I know exactly the feeling of being out for so long.
“He’s always served the club well and it was time to look after him and his own health. Now he’s ready to train with us.”

Man Utd in Kieran Trippier transfer boost with Atletico Madrid ‘lining up replacement in Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi’

The England full-back has been linked with the Red Devils for weeks, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on the former Spurs player.
And the 30-year-old is said to be desperate to move to Old Trafford.
However, with two years remaining on his contract, Atletico are digging their heels in on the fee.
They are reportedly holding out for his £34million release clause to be triggered.
But they are still making plans for Trippier’s departure, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Florenzi, 30, spent last season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Roma.
He played 36 times in all competitions for the French giants – scoring twice and providing one assist – before bagging a Euro 2020 winner’s medal with Italy.
New Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly not interested in keeping the right-back.
And Atletico are said to be keeping tabs on his situation in case they have to replace the Three Lions man.
    ‘HOMECOMING’
Trippier himself is now pushing to make the move back to England, according to Diario Sport in Spain.
The former Burnley man hails from nearby Bury, and would see the transfer as a homecoming.
And his family is believed to be comprised predominantly of United fans.
SunSport understands the Red Devils are determined to secure his signature, to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
And the Telegraph recently claimed Trippier is willing to wait all summer to secure his move.
This could see negotiations go right to the wire on transfer deadline day on August 31.

United may have to sell players before being able to splash out on Trippier, having already forked out on two key signings.
They began their summer with a bang, finally securing the signature of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m.
And they have since added another blockbuster name to their squad in Raphael Varane, having confirmed a £34m deal.

Man Utd transfer blow with Julian Nagelsmann ‘confident’ Leon Goretzka will extend Bayern Munich contract beyond 2022

MANCHESTER UNITED have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka.Goretzka, 26, joined the Bundesliga champions from Schalke in 2018 and his performances have caught the eye of those at Old Trafford.

He has just one year left on his deal – but Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann revealed he is ‘confident’ the midfielder will extend his contract beyond 2022.
With the future of Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba uncertain, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to line up a replacement.
But Nagelsmann’s recent comments have dampened the Red Devils’ hopes of luring Goretzka to the Premier League.
Speaking about the midfielder’s situation, the Bayern manager said: “I’m not involved enough that I have a say every day. I stay out of these issues.
“Of course I have talked to him about my plans for him. I’ve told him I’d be happy if he extended and I’m also confident.
“There are several topics involved when it comes to discussing a contract extension.
“I’ll continue to focus on the sports side of things and show him he can be one of the most dangerous midfielders in Europe. He has potential to get even better.”
Since joining three years ago, Goretzka has played 112 times for Bayern, scoring 25 goals.
He has won the Bundesliga title in all three seasons at the Allianz Arena and also claimed the Champions League with the German giants in 2020.

Jerome Boateng wants ‘dream’ Man Utd free transfer move this summer after Bayern Munich contract expired

However, he has struggled to find any suitors since leaving the Bundesliga champions.
Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma have all been credited with an interest in the German centre-back.
But, according to Calciomercato.it, Boateng has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have already agreed a deal in principle for France defender Raphael Varane.
It is unknown if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for another defender, given his capture of the Real Madrid star.
Jose Mourinho’s Roma have made contact with Boateng’s camp, but it is believed the World Cup winner wants to play for a club in next season’s Champions League.
Spain is said to be another possible destination, with Sevilla, who finished fourth in LaLiga last term, reportedly keen on the 6ft 3in star.

Boateng was a youth product at Hertha Berlin, before he made his name at Hamburger.
In 2010, Manchester City paid £11million for his services, but he failed to impress and was shipped out a season later to Bayern Munich.
He spent the next 10 years with the Bavarians – winning the Bundesliga nine times, as well as two Champions League titles before he was released.

Man Utd starlet James Garner eyed by Sheffield United on loan with midfielder Sander Berge on Arsenal transfer wishlist

MANCHESTER UNITED midfield ace James Garner is a target for Sheffield United. Garner returned from a spell at Nottingham Forest, who would like him back, but the Blades have joined the race and are very keen on landing a loan deal.

Sander Berge has been linked with a move away from the BladesCredit: Sportimage
Championship Blades have a strong relationship with Old Trafford having taken England keeper Dean Henderson in the past and are also willing to fund the move.
Garner, 20, would play a big part in boss Slavisa Jokanovic’s plans and could cover the Bramall Lane club in case of late bids for stars like Sander Berge.
Norwegian midfielder Berge, 23, is back on Arsenal’s radar – though not  first choice – and will cost £30million after arriving from Genk 18 months ago for a fee of £22m.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils want £5m for sending centre-half Axel Tuanzebe on loan.
The powerful defender, 23, is wanted by Newcastle and Aston Villa among others and could be allowed out of Old Trafford to get game time.

FREE BETS: GET OVER £2,000 IN NEW CUSTOMER DEALS

But United are after £5m – to cover wages over the season and a loan fee – for Tuanzebe and do not plan to budge from that.
Tuanzebe had a previous spell at Villa in the Championship but United are asking for a premium rate to send him to a Premier League home.
United will not give up on the academy product but a year in the Prem would help – the cost also encourages Toon and Villa to weigh up his likely playing time to justify the expense.

Man Utd star Andreas Pereira wanted by Turkish giants Fenerbahce in summer transfer after ‘Tony Yeboah goal’ in friendly

MANCHESTER United star Andreas Pereira has become a shock target for Fenerbahce, following his wonder strike in a pre-season friendly. The 25-year-old Belgian-born midfielder struck a sumptuous right-foot volley in a 2-2 draw with Brentford reminiscent of Tony Yeboah’s goal for Leeds against Liverpool back in 1995.

Pereira moved to the Red Devils in 2015, but has struggled to cement a place in United’s first team.
During his time at the club, he has been loaned out to three different clubs, including Granada, Valencia and Lazio.
At the end of the last campaign, the Serie A giants enquired about signing Pereira on a permanent deal – but were told to stump up around £21million.
Instead, Lazio turned their attentions to Felipe Anderson, who they snapped up from West Ham in a £3m deal.
Now Fenerbahce have thrown their hat in the ring, along with an unnamed Premier League club, for Pereira’s services.

The Turkish giants have enquired about his transfer valuation, but are said to be reluctant to pay his £21m fee.
According to the report by TNT Sports, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept in regular contact with Pereira when he was on loan in Italy.
Solskjaer is reportedly wary of losing the player, who he approved a new contract for in 2019, if Paul Pogba does leave for PSG.
