Varane, 28, was seen in a white BMW 4X4 in Alderley Edge, Cheshire on Friday.
He had a woman next to him and stepped out the vehicle at one stage at a garage.
The Red Devils are signing the France international centre-back with the deal worth an initial £34m.
The star was spotted arriving at United’s training ground for the first time on Tuesday after he enjoyed a post-Euro 2020 break to undergo his medical.
SunSport now understands that Varane has successfully completed those medical checks and signed on the dotted line to make the transfer official.
He has agreed a four-year contract with the option for a further 12-months.

Varane has already posed in United’s colours for the official announcement with his shirt number all set to be unveiled.
The numbers 12, 16, 22, 24 are the lowest ones currently available at Old Trafford but it will not be until the official confirmation that his shirt is revealed.
But he could struggle to be on the bench for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side when they kick-off the Premier League campaign at home to Leeds on Saturday.
The 2018 World Cup winner arrived at the Aon Training Ground on Thursday to finalise his switch.
Varane was spotted being driven into Carrington in the back of a black Mercedes to finally undergo his medical.

Varane’s Man Utd transfer NOT complete and defender won’t face Leeds as LaLiga include him in Real Madrid squad

RAPHAEL VARANE will not be available for selection against Leeds in a blow to Red Devils as his transfer from Real Madrid will not be not completed in time. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, 48, has confirmed that the £43million deal struck with Real Madrid for the 28-year-old France international is not officially complete yet.

As such, he will not be available to face Leeds on Saturday and has yet to take part in team trainin. He said: “He’s [Varane] not trained with us. Things happen and things take time.
“Unfortunately with the isolation and the delay, these things… It’s not 100 per cent done yet.”
In order for the centre-back to be available, he would need to have been registered by 12pm today, but United’s failure to push the move through in time means they’ll be without their new signing for the Leeds game.
Instead, Varane may have to wait until United take on Southampton at St. Mary’s next Sunday to make his debut for the club.
But even then, the player is still listed as a Real Madrid player by LaLiga, indicating that although a deal has been agreed, he remains a Madridista for the time being.
Solskjaer has tried to reassure fans that the deal will still be completed despite these complications, stating: “The big hold up was the quarantine of course but he’s in Manchester now. It will be done soon.”
With Varane unavailable and Rashford out for up to 12 weeks after an operation on his shoulder, there has been much speculation about how United will line up for their first game of the season.

Man Utd’s biggest transfers ever, both in and out, including Ronaldo
The Norweigan has also hinted that there could yet be more signings at Old Trafford this summer, hinting: “You never know what is going to happen in football.
“We’ve still got one hopefully coming in, and any surprises, anything can happen. We’ve got to be ready, but I’m very happy with what we’ve done so far.”
United are reportedly locked in a two-horse transfer race with PSG for Rennes superstar Eduardo Camavinga, 18, who could be available for a reported £34m.
The Reds also appear to have given up in their pursuit of England star Kieran Trippier after reports that Diogo Dalot has convinced Solskjaer to give him another chance after an impressive pre-season.

Man Utd could be without NINE first-team players including Cavani for start of Premier League season against Leeds

MANCHESTER UNITED kick-off their attempt to bring the Premier League title back to Old Trafford this Saturday – but Edinson Cavani could be one of nine stars to miss out.The Red Devils are preparing for the visit of Leeds United on Saturday with fans excited to get a glimpse of their new men.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have some bad news for up to nine senior players on SaturdayCredit: AFP
Raphael Varane still needs to complete his medical before his transfer from Real Madrid is completed.
However, £73m summer signing Jadon Sancho could be in line for his first competitive start for the club.
But while boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought in new big-money recruits, he still needs to get rid of several men in order to slim down his bloated squad.
And that means a number of players could be set to miss out on the big season opener due to their squad status.
Centre-half Eric Bailly was already down the pecking order behind Victor Lindelof and captain Harry Maguire and Varane’s impending arrival means his days could be numbered.
He has just featured for Ivory Coast at the Olympics and seems unlikely to be rushed back – especially if the Frenchman’s transfer has been completed – and he may not even make the bench.

Fellow central defender Phil Jones will also likely have to wait for his first match action since January 2020.
He has just returned to training from injury and has also been linked with a move away – although no offers have currently been tabled.
Full-back Alex Telles struggled to make an impact during his first season at United as Luke Shaw kept him out of the side – and a slight injury concern makes it unlikely the Brazilian will be back on Saturday.
When it comes to United’s attack, Marcus Rashford is definitely ruled out following his recent shoulder op.
Edinson Cavani was given an extended summer break after Copa AmericaCredit: AFP
But Cavani will also miss the clash with Leeds after he was handed an extended break after representing Uruguay in Copa America.
Meanwhile West Ham transfer target Jesse Lingard has been ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19 last week.
Belgium-born Brazilian international Andreas Pereira has been one of United’s star men throughout pre-season.
But whether that is enough to cement him a place in the squad remains to be seen.
Juan Mata is another who shone during the recent friendlies but the veteran Spanish playmaker may miss out due to the sheer squad size at Solskjaer’s disposal.
Goalkeeper Tom Heaton was another new arrival at United over recent weeks on a free transfer from Aston Villa.
But the veteran stopper joined as back-up to both Dean Henderson and David De Gea and will not be part of the squad unless as cover for injury or suspension.

Man Utd will be ’embarrassed’ if they lose Pogba on free transfer but he can still shine at Old Trafford, says Pallister

MANCHESTER UNITED need to avoid the ’embarrassment’ of losing Paul Pogba on a free transfer AGAIN.That is the view of former Red Devils defender Gary Pallister, 56, who revealed his thoughts on the Frenchman exclusively to SunSport.
Paul Pogba could leave Man Utd on a free transfer next summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract before thenCredit: Getty
And former Red Devils defender Gary Pallister told SunSport his old club must act soon to avoid that happeningCredit: Getty
Pogba, 28, has just one year left on his Old Trafford deal and can leave for nothing next June.
If he doesn’t agree fresh terms at Old Trafford beforehand, the Frenchman can sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside the UK in January.
The United academy product has left on a free before – rejecting a new contract to join Juventus in 2012. And Pallister told SunSport his old club cannot let that happen again.
He said: “It’s an ongoing issue – the talk around Paul. For everybody concerned I think it would be [better] if a decision is made.
“You certainly don’t want to be embarrassed again and lose that player on a free transfer.
“So I would think something has got to be sorted before the season or very soon into the season.”
Pogba has been heavily linked with a move back to Paris Saint-Germain this summer which would see the Red Devils recoup some of the £89million they paid to bring him back from Juventus in 2016.
The Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola was reportedly in contact with the Ligue 1 side over a potential £40m move. But it’s believed their interest has cooled for the time being after signing Lionel Messi.
Despite the seemingly non-stop rumours linking Pogba with an Old Trafford exit, Pallister would prefer to see him sign a new deal, knuckle down and show United fans the ‘very very best of him’.

The former Middlesbrough and England defender added: “Ole has made it clear he wants him to stay.
“We know about the talent Paul has got. We see it with France and we see it at Man Utd – but maybe not as much as we would like to.
“But that always seems to be because there’s something out there to be said about him – being linked here, there and everywhere.
“Obviously he went through that difficult period under Jose Mourinho which didn’t really help. And that’s where a lot of the rumours started.
“But I think for all concerned, if it was sorted out one way or another… either he decides he needs to move on or he’s going to sign a contract.
“Because United can’t be seen to be losing that amount of money over Paul again after the first time he left.
“I think for everybody concerned, Paul as well, it needs to be sorted out soon. Otherwise it’s never going to be out the headlines and it’s going to go on and on.
“And if his agent gets involved again – he seems to chuck a few hand grenades in here, there and everywhere – and its not particularly healthy.
“Hopefully he stays. If he wants to stay.

“He’s got an incredible talent. I don’t think we’ve seen the very very best of Paul Pogba in a Man Utd shirt.
“But if he was to sign now, settle down and forget about all these rumours – talking about Real Madrid and going back to France, I think he can be a pivotal figure in a Man Utd side.”
Gary Pallister was speaking to the Sun on behalf of BETDAQ.

Man Utd ‘in late Luka Jovic transfer discussions’ as Real Madrid set £35m price tag for flop striker this summer

MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting a late transfer swoop for Luka Jovic, according to shock reports. The Serbian striker, 23, burst on to the scene at Eintracht Frankfurt before joining Real Madrid for £52million in 2019.
Luka Jovic is a reported shock transfer target for Manchester United this summerCredit: Getty
But he has flopped since his Bernabeu switch, scoring just two goals in 32 appearances before being shipped back to his former side on loan.
AS reported earlier in the summer Real Madrid would demand £35m for the forward and are willing to take a significant loss.
And now according to Tribal Football, United are considering making a move to sign Jovic.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big fan of the centre-forward.
The Old Trafford club asked about Jovic 18 months ago when they brought in Odion Ighalo and have monitored him since, the report adds.
Marcus Rashford will be out until at least October after surgery on his problematic shoulder.
That leaves 34-year-old Edinson Cavani as the only recognised senior striker although Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood can play through the middle.

United have already spent more than £100m to bring in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer – and it was thought their summer business was done after cooling their interest in Kieran Trippier.
However, Real Madrid would be keen to sell Jovic to help fund a mega transfer for Kylian Mbappe.
Los Blancos believe they can secure a deal with Paris Saint-Germain because the French side cannot afford to have Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi at the same time.

Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane are good starting transfers for Man Utd… but they need more to be Prem contenders

The signing of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho is a good start for United this season, but they need more quality in their squad to be title contenders. Varane, 28, has been granted a visa and has travelled to Manchester to complete his Red Devils move.
Man United could do with a ball-playing defensive midfielder in addition to Raphael Varane in their back fourCredit: Getty
The Frenchman is currently in quarantine and due to undergo his medical and sign his contract.
The France star is exactly what United need at the heart of the defence.
With Victor Lindelof proving to be unreliable, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to search for a long-term partner to Harry Maguire.
BETTING SPECIAL – GET MO SALAH TO SCORE ONE OR MORE GOALS IN AUGUST AT 20/1
United always thought they would consider talent in Spain’s top-flight for their search.
However, few would have picked Varane, simply because it felt unlikely that he would leave Real Madrid.
Having watched the likes of Jules Koundé at Sevilla, and Pau Torres at Villarreal, the club have undoubtedly taken the best option in the serial Champions League winner.
Varane joins Jadon Sancho, 21, as Solskjaer’s second summer signing, but there are still question marks concerning other areas of the pitch.
    De Gea or Henderson?
Dean Henderson missed the training camp in Scotland after testing for COVID-19 in July.
The 24-year-old is still feeling the effects of the virus which means David De Gea is likely to start the Premier League season this week against Leeds United.
If this is the case, it is vital we do not see a situation like last season where the ‘keepers were rotated every couple of games.
For certain cup matches the understudy shot-stopper should get a run out, but not in the Champions League or Prem fixtures.
It makes you wonder, with Tom Heaton, 35, also there, if United would be open to selling either Henderson or De Gea.
For me, De Gea, 30, is still the better ‘keeper and should be the one to start behind Varane and Maguire.

    Central midfield
There have been rumours that Solskjaer will go for one defensive midfielder instead of the two he opted for last season.
As it stands, I don’t see this happening. Pre-season games have included two players there.
In addition, with players returning to the starting line-up at different times, due to the Euros, Copa America and injuries, it is likely Solskjaer will start the season with two in that position.

This could mean a welcome back to Scott McTominay and Fred
Both players are solid out of possession, but struggle when they’re expected to pass forward through the lines.
This situation could change if United signs a ball-playing defensive midfielder, but some of the squad will have to be sold first.

Three reasons why Man Utd can NOT compete for Premier League title this season including need for holding midfielder

WITH Manchester United completing the signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane for a fee of around £110million, it’s been a productive summer window for the Premier League giants. They are now actually aiming to compete for the league title for the first time since their last triumph in 2013.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping it’s his time to deliver the titleCredit: Getty
There are still plenty of doubts about the Manchester United bossCredit: Getty
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been receiving the full backing from the board in the transfer window.
And he has recently been given a contract extension, with the signs clearly being shown that the club trusts him to deliver the titles and trophies that Old Trafford has been crying out for.
But with the major signings that Chelsea and Manchester City are looking to make, on top of the inconsistency issues at Manchester United, there are still a lot of doubts about whether the Red Devils are genuine title contenders this season.
Here are three reasons why United should not yet be seen as league challengers…
    NO STRUCTURED SYSTEM
United have shown their incredible resilience and the number of individual players they
can rely on during last season, achieving 31 points from losing positions as they finished in second place.
This may be seen as something remarkable, though, it is something that cannot be sustained throughout a campaign to lead to a title challenge.
The team going behind early in the game along with having great difficulties to overcome the
bottom half teams is due to the lack of system that is in place.
There is no structured foundation of how Solskjaer wants his team to play.
Without a consistent style of play drilled into the team, especially the basics and the decision making within the system, United will be limiting themselves to rely on creativity and goals in transition, which many teams have found them out for.
    HOLDING MIDFIELDER
For sure, the squad is blessed with talented midfielders such as Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba, which is more than enough to help the team on the attacking side of the game.
However, the team is missing a holding midfielder, to provide the balance in the middle of the
pitch, giving his team-mates the freedom to roam more forward whilst he protects the backline.
Looking at the previous Premier League winners in Liverpool and Manchester City, they have an established and world-class defensive midfielder in Fabinho and Rodri, who can offer the much-needed ability of dictating the play from deep and who also influences the game on and off the ball.
And with United reportedly looking to play in a more attacking formation this season, the side will require a holding midfielder to stop the opposition from breaking through on the counterattack.
BETTING SPECIAL – GET MO SALAH TO SCORE ONE OR MORE GOALS IN AUGUST AT 20/1
DREAM TEAM IS BACK! SIGN UP NOW FOR THE 21/22 SEASON WITH £100,000 PRIZE POT UP FOR GRABS

    IN-GAME MANAGEMENT
Now, the third and final reason is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in-game management.
There are improvements to the squad quality and the atmosphere around the club since his takeover, but he is yet to improve as a manager and show the features of a coach
that has what it takes to take a sleeping giant like United back to where they belong.
The greatest example of his questionable in-game management was the Europa League final, where he failed to show any signs of leadership skills or a proactive approach to turn the match into United’s favour.
That resulted in the match needlessly going to penalties and our eventual loss to Villarreal.
Until he is able to improve on this aspect and show development of tactical nous as a coach, he will not succeed in helping the team to be side by side with Liverpool and Manchester City.
