Man Utd ‘interested in Ruben Neves transfer from Wolves’ as Solskjaer looks continue spree in title assault

But according to 90min, United are interested in bolstering their options in the middle of the park.
And it is claimed Wolves’ Neves, 24, is a target for Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
His Portuguese team-mate Bruno Fernandes, 26, is said to be keen on the deal.
United have previously been linked with Eduardo Camavinga, 18, of Rennes and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, 26.
But Neves has been rumoured to be pushing to leave Wolves all summer, with Arsenal also believed to be admirers.
United’s chase for a midfielder comes amid speculation Paul Pogba, 28, could be looking to leave the club with just one year left on his contract.

But boss Solskjaer has insisted the 2018 French World Cup winner is going nowhere.
He said: “I expect him to be here when September 1 comes.”
Solskjaer then added: “Paul, he’s enjoying his football.
“And I’ve said many times, my job is to make sure we’re getting the best out of Paul and all the individuals.
“For me, to make players stay at Man United, when you see a good squad and get good results, that helps.
“We want to win things and I want to take this team to the next level.”

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted Man Utd transfer before Sir Alex Ferguson’s shock retirement that ended Bale deal

CRISTIANO RONALDO agreed a remarkable transfer back to Manchester United in 2013 before Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement halted those plans.United legend Patrice Evra revealed Sir Alex wanted to re-sign Ronaldo, who had moved to Real Madrid in 2009 in a then-record £80million deal.
Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in 2013
Part of Ferguson’s plans to win the Champions League also involved the transfer of Gareth Bale, who at the time was at Tottenham.
But then Ferguson – who had just won the Premier League title – was forced to confirm to his players that he would in fact be retiring.
And according to Evra, Ronaldo had told him he wanted to return to United before Sir Alex walked away from management.
He said on the UTD Podcast: “I remember there was a lot of media saying Ferguson will maybe retire next year, and he said, ‘Patrice, I will never retire. I will be here another 10 years’.
“He then said: ‘My target is I’m 99 per cent sure we will have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. I just need these two players to win the Champions League again. Ninety-nine per cent.’

“And to be fair, when I speak with Cristiano, I ask him and he said yes to the boss, and was coming to join United. He told me this.”
But as Sir Alex retired, Ronaldo would stay at Madrid with Bale joining him in the Spanish capital, breaking the transfer record in an £85m move.
Evra said Ferguson’s retirement was the hardest moment in his career, and revealed the Scot had to apologise to Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa for leaving just a season after signing the pair.
He said: “When we arrived at Carrington, I see all those cameras and I was like: ‘Wow, someone has done something wrong. Maybe a player is the story again! Someone has done something wrong, we are in trouble.’

“But we arrived and people said, ‘Guys, you have to stay in the dressing room because the boss wants to have a chat’. And when the boss came into the dressing room to talk to everyone, it’s never good news.
“He came, and he said, ‘I’m really sorry. Some people have said that I’m going to retire even before I say it myself. That’s why you saw all those cameras. But I will retire because my wife needs me’.
“He apologised to Van Persie, he apologised to Shinji, because he just brought them. He apologised to them especially.”

Man Utd confirm playmaker Andreas Pereira has joined Brazilian side Flamengo in year-long loan transfer

MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed Andreas Pereira has joined Brazilian side Flamengo in year-long loan. The playmaker spent last season at Lazio having continued to struggle for games at Old Trafford.

But despite scoring a wonder goal in pre-season, Pereira’s future in Manchester remained uncertain.
Several clubs, including Everton, were looking to take the Belgian-born, Brazil international on loan.
But it is Flamengo who have won the race to sign him, United announced on Twitter.
Flamengo’s vice-president of football Marcos Braz had confirmed their interest in the versatile midfielder earlier this week.
Braz told TNT Sports: “We have until the 28th.
“He’s a player from a big club, one of the biggest in Europe, and we’re trying to see if we can achieve success with this deal.
Man Utd’s biggest transfers ever, both in and out, including Ronaldo

“The negotiations are going on, there’s always some problem, there’s always some point where there’s a bigger jam, especially with a player of this level.
“We are happy to be in the hunt to get this player.”
Pereira, 25, moved to Old Trafford in 2015, but has struggled to cement a place in the first team.
During his time at the club, he has been loaned out to Granada, Valencia and most recently Lazio.
At the end of the last campaign, the Serie A giants enquired about signing Pereira on a permanent deal – but were told to stump up around £21million.
Instead, Lazio turned their attentions to Felipe Anderson, who they snapped up from West Ham in a £3m deal.

Man Utd interested in Noni Madueke transfer as ex-Tottenham star, 19, continues blistering goalscoring form for PSV

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly competing with Tottenham and Leicester in the race to sign PSV winger Noni Madueke. The 19-year-old has earned rave reviews during his time in Holland since departing Spurs’ academy for the Eredivisie side in June 2018.

Madueke, who rejected a proposal from United three years ago, cemented himself as a regular in PSV’s first team last campaign where he chipped in with nine goals and eight assists in 32 games.
And the England youth international – valued at around £20million by the Dutch giants – already has five strikes to his name from just seven outings this term.
According to the Daily Mail, scouts from the Red Devils, Spurs and the Foxes were in attendance for his recent appearance in Wednesday’s Champions League qualifying clash against Benfica.
All three clubs are said to have had representatives at the Estadio da Luz where Benfica edged out a 2-1 win in the first leg.
They also state it’s not just English clubs that are interested in the teenager, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich watching the player.
Serie A side’s Juventus, Roma and Atalanta also had the chance to see the forward in action against the Portuguese outfit.

Meanwhile Sky Sports have suggested that Wolves are also monitoring Madueke, though his price tag could prove too much for them.
And SunSport reported last month how Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is an admirer of the youngster.
Though the Eagles also have Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson and RB Leipzig’s Ademola Lookman on their shortlist.
Madueke spoke to SunSport in December where he revealed how the club’s U19s coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has been honing his finishing.

He said: “Ruud helped me a lot last year, taking my game to the next level and now I am just trying to get better every day.
“I have always scored nice goals but I know I needed to score easier ones — being in the right place at the right time — striker-type finishes.
“Ruud has been teaching me how to get into those positions more and, being a Manchester United fan, I know he is the master of that.”

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Pereira is set to move to Flamengo on loan, with just the ‘final details to be sorted’.
Pereira has been at United since 2011, scoring four goals in 75 games.
However, he was shipped off on loan to Lazio last season after failing to win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And following the £73million signing of Jadon Sancho, Pereira is set for another campaign on the sidelines.
The playmaker is believed to be a target for Everton boss Rafa Benitez.
And Turkish giants Fenerbahce have also made an approach after being impressed by his pre-season performances.

Pereira has already revealed he’s eager for minutes elsewhere, hinting at a move to Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht.
And last month saw Pereira make a ‘come-and-get-me’ plea to Lazio for a second spell.
However, it now seems Pereira is ready to join Flamengo.

The Samba side are currently wrapping up a loan for Chelsea misfit Kenedy.
They already boast stars including Gabriel Barbosa and Filipe Luis.
And Flamengo are now ready to give Pereira the action he craves in order to make the plane to Qatar.

It is understood that the youngster, who can play at either left-back or right-back, is keen for regular first-team football after limited action at Old Trafford.
Williams featured in just four Premier League games last season with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles preferred instead at left-back.
And his chances of breaking into the starting XI appear slim this term with Diogo Dalot expected to deputise for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Southampton and Newcastle had been keen on the England youth international.
But according to Sky Sports, it is newly-promoted side Norwich that are winning the race to secure his services.
However they state that the deal to take the player to Norfolk is unlikely to be concluded this week.

Williams is now expected to battle for a place in Norwich’s starting XI alongside right-back Max Aarons and Greek left-back Dimitris Giannoulis.
His arrival at Norwich will be the club’s second loan signing of the summer after they brought in central midfielder Billy Gilmour from Chelsea.
And Daniel Farke remains on the lookout for a new centre-back, with free agent Gary Cahill understood to be an option.

Another player that United could be willing to loan out is Ivorian winger Amad Diallo.
It has been claimed that Championship club Sheffield United are interested in the 19-year-old, along with Crystal Palace and Basel.
Diallo appeared in nine games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last term after joining United for £37million from Atalanta.

And Man Utd boss Solskjaer is also confident of tying Paul Pogba down to a long-term deal after his stunning start to the new season.
Fernandes has five years to run on his contract but is on £100,000-a-week and is already in talks for a new deal which could be worth between £250,000 and £300,000.
Englishmen Rashford, Maguire and Shaw all earn between £180,000 and £200,000-a-week and will also be offered similar terms to Fernandes.
Rashford and Shaw see their deals end in two years’ time but the club have options of further years, while Maguire’s contract ends in 2025.
Solskjaer wants harmony in the dressing room at Old Trafford and believes it is unfair if some players earn more.
