According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport Juventus are said to be working on a proposal to bring the French midfielder, 28, back to Serie A.
The report suggests Juve are willing to offer around £190k-a-week.
But Pogba already reportedly earns £12m-a-year at Old Trafford, meaning a significant pay-cut is in store should a return to Turin be on the cards.
Gazetta also reveal that for Juve to press on with a deal, players must first be moved on from the Allianz Stadium.
Midfielders Adrian Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey are two players who could be sold, as well as American Weston McKennie.
The news comes after Pogba revealed in midweek that he is still talks to his pals back at Juve.

Speaking to Mediaset as reported by Fabrizio Romano, he said: “I like Turin! I always speak with former Juve team-mates like Dybala.
“I’m in Manchester now, I’m under contract until June then let’s see.
“I want to complete this season at best level – then we see.”
Pogba previously spent four trophy-laden seasons with the Old Lady, turning out 178 times for the Serie A giants.
During that time he scored 34 goals, helping the club to four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and two Supercoppas.
The midfielder has been at the centre of intense speculation regarding what club’s colours he will be wearing this time next year.
Recent reports have suggested he is now happier at Man Utd than he was in the past.
But the prospect of a return to Turin to link up with his old friends at Juve could be hard to turn down.

Jesse Lingard hints at Man Utd transfer exit as attacker says he wants ‘regular football’ to seal England World Cup spot

JESSE LINGARD has revealed he needs ‘regular football’ to have any hope of making Gareth Southgate’s 2022 World Cup squad. The Manchester United man was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, but ended up staying to fight for his place in the first team.

But Premier League appearances have been hard to come by so far this seasonCredit: Getty
But since the start of the new campaign the 28-year-old has made just three Premier League appearances – all from the bench.
And across those games he has played just a combined 45 minutes of Prem football.
However that did include a dramatic winner against old club West Ham, and now another call-up to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad after netting against Andorra last month.
Lingard also netted after coming off the bench in the 4-1 win against Newcastle in September – the same day as Cristiano Ronaldo’s emotional return.
Yet in an England press conference, Lingard admitted to reporters: “Obviously, the World Cup is a long way away but… you need regular football.
“I was so close to going to the Euros and I think obviously it plays a huge part and it’s a big factor.

“If you’re playing over 20 or 25 games, of course you know you’re knocking on the door so I think it does play a big part in that.
“I’m not doing any harm at the moment – if I keep performing well and doing well you never know what might happen so I keep confident in myself and when I get when I get time on the pitch I’ve got to carry on doing what I’m doing.
“You want to start games. When I’m a sub I’m always ready to play. I’m always ready to be needed when I’m called up.
“It’s one of those things I’m going through at the moment but I think on recent performances hopefully we’ll see a change in the next few weeks.”
Lingard’s impressive performances on loan at West Ham in the second half of last season saw him called up to Southgate’s preliminary Euro 2020 squad.
He netted nine goals in 16 games for David Moyes’ side, as well as providing five assists.

Ultimately Lingard failed to make the cut for Southgate’s final squad for England’s Euro 2020 campaign, but was immediately recalled for September’s internationals.
But Lingard has hinted that he needs to be playing at least 20-25 games per-season to force his way into Southgate’s World Cup plans.
The Red Devils academy graduate remains linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and has even been urged to swap Old Trafford for pastures new by club legend Gary Neville.

Recent reports have suggested he is now happier at Man Utd than he was in the past when speculation was rife that he wanted to leave.
But when asked by Italian media about his club future following France’s victory over Belgium in the Nations League, Pogba refused to commit to anything.
Speaking to Mediaset as reported by Fabrizio Romano, he said: “I like Turin! I always speak with former Juve team-mates like Dybala.
“I’m in Manchester now, I’m under contract until June then let’s see.
“I want to complete this season at best level – then we see”
Pogba left Man Utd for Juventus in 2012 where he would go on to play 178 times for the Serie A giants, scoring 34 goals.

He then returned to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 for what was at the time a record transfer fee of £89.3million.
He has since gone on to score 38 times in 208 appearances for the Red Devils.
But in the five years since he came back to the English club, he has won just one League Cup and one Europa League.

That pales in comparison to the four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and two Supercoppas that he won during four seasons with Juve.
Pogba has also had international success with France as an instrumental part of their 2018 World Cup-winning side.
However, the Frenchman has enjoyed a stellar start to the new season, assisting seven times in just seven Premier League games. More

And Lineker recently stunned football fans by telling Alan Shearer and Micah Richards that the deal was finalised in his garden.
Speaking on the Match of the Day Top 10 podcast, he said: “I’ll put my cards on the table – Ed Woodward is a good friend of mine and lives next door.
“He signed Cristiano Ronaldo when he was in my garden!
“When he walked in he was on the phone to Jorge Mendes (Ronaldo’s agent) – I hope I’m not giving too much away!
“I have a fantastic picture of him sat on the phone to him which I might share one day with his permission.”
Ronaldo has enjoyed a superb return to Man Utd having already netted five times for the club.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have struggled for results in recent weeks, failing to win four of their last seven games in all competitions.
Yet despite a difficult run of form, Shearer feels Ronaldo will enable United to challenge for trophies this season.
He said: “Man United have not been challenging over the last few years – they’re viewed differently now with Ronaldo and rightly so. They are ready to challenge.

“Signing him was a no-brainer for Man Utd – they cannot lose in this situation.

Seven transfers we could see in January as Arsenal move for Calvert-Lewin and Watkins and van de Beek in Man Utd exit

THERE is less than three months until the transfer window swings wide open again and clubs try and find some New Year deals. The likes of Luis Suarez, Bruno Fernandes and Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang arrived in the Premier League during previous winter windows

And there is already plenty of speculation surrounding who will be going where in the first few weeks of 2022.
So SunSport rounds up some of the biggest transfers that could get over the line in January…
Ollie Watkins or Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Arsenal
The Gunners need a new striker with Alexandre Lacazette’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
And as revealed by SunSport, they are eyeing two of the Premier League and England’s hottest young strikers to lead the line long-term.

Donny van de Beek to Everton
He wanted out of Old Trafford in the summer but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked a last-minute loan to the Toffees.
But now clearer than ever he is not in the plans, Van de Beek could be allowed to make the switch in January – or may return to boyhood club Ajax.

    Raheem Sterling to Barcelona
The England winger continues to struggle for game time under Pep Guardiola this term and Barcelona could be set to pounce.
Apparently, the Catalan giants have the funds, despite their financial mess, to stump up £60million for Sterling.

    Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea
The RB Leipzig midfielder, who scored a hat-trick against Manchester City in September, worked under Thomas Tuchel at PSG and could be reunited with the German.
The 23-year-old’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has confirmed he is in talks with Chelsea, Man City and Real Madrid over a 2022 switch – but the Blues may swoop and get a deal done early.
Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is also a target but Chelsea face competition from Juventus for his signature.

    Paul Pogba to PSG
The ongoing saga surrounding Pogba continues with his current Manchester United contract expiring next summer.
The Red Devils want him to make a decision on his future by Christmas but failure to do so could see the club sell him on the cheap in January rather than lose him for free with PSG ahead of Real Madrid and Juventus in the race.

    Pau Torres to Man City
That’s right – Manchester City are being linked with yet another centre-back with the Etihad club ‘well positioned’ to land the Villarreal ace.
United and Tottenham have wanted him in the past but Pep Guardiola likes his compatriot and wants him as further competition for Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nathan Ake.

    Allan Saint-Maximin to Liverpool
Newcastle’s exciting winger certainly catches the eye with his dazzling runs and trickery – and it has not gone unnoticed at Anfield or Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool looks the likeliest destination but it would surely take a mammoth bid to convince Mike Ashley to sell one of his best players amid a relegation dogfight.

Man Utd ‘send scouts to spy on Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as they weigh up transfer’ but he flops under pressure

MANCHESTER UNITED sent scouts to watch Benfica striker Darwin Nunez but he flopped on the latest occasion. Red Devils’ representatives have watched the Uruguayan three times but the pressure is said to have got to him last time out as the Portuguese giants lost 1-0 at home to Portimonense.

Nunez shone in the first two games United reportedly had officials in the house for.
Benfica beat Boavista 3-1 at home on September 20 with Nunez scoring the first and last goals in the game.
And he got another brace in Benfica’s brilliant 3-0 win over shambolic Barcelona in the Champions League last Wednesday.
United scouts were present on both occasions, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
And they sent someone else to watch for a third time on Sunday.
But Benfica’s grip on the top spot in Portugal’s Primeira Liga got weaker with a 1-0 home defeat to Portimonense thanks to Lucas Possignolo’s second-half effort.
