De Jong fancies City over Utd
EXCLUSIVE: Frenkie de Jong is willing to kiss goodbye to nearly £6million in unpaid wages to clinch a move to Manchester City, writes PHIL THOMAS.
As SunSport revealed, Erik ten Hag wants the Barcelona star at rivals United but City chief Pep Guardiola is also a big fan – missing out three years ago when Barca’s £400,000-a-week after tax was too good for the Dutch star to turn down.

And while the Etihad money men are not keen on paying out the £65million it cost to take him to the Nou Camp from Ajax in 2019, De Jong’s stance on money he is owed may prove decisive.
Barca are still fighting their way out of a financial crisis, which saw players defer 40 per cent of wages for a year.
And midfielder De Jong is still owed a bumper figure, which he could waive to make a move happen. Guardiola is in the market for a midfielder to replace the departing Fernandinho.
But Barca may request Bernardo Silva or Raheem Sterling as part of any deal. Boss Xavi revealed this week that De Jong remains a key part of his plans.
But he conceded that the club could still sell the 25-year-old this summer. He said: “For me, he is a very important player.
Shaw waiting on bumper new £180k-a-week deal
EXCLUSIVE: Luke Shaw will be kept waiting on a fresh £180,000-a-week Old Trafford contract until his new manager has given the thumbs up, writes JOSHUA MBU.
Shaw, 26, has just one more season left on his current deal and so far Manchester United bosses have been in no rush to come up with an extension.

Instead United insiders insist the club will trigger their 12-month option to keep the left back until 2024.
And that will give ten Hag the time to make an informed decision on whether the defender can be a part of his longer term plans.
Shaw has had a stop-start Old Trafford career ever since his £32million signing from Southampton in 2014.
Sparkling spells have been offset by serious injuries and a battle to win over former boss Jose Mourinho.
And although he was back to his best last season, Ten Hag wants to assess him properly before committing to a long-term decision.
United hold a similar view on Brazil midfielder Fred, 29, although they would be more willing to listen to offers this summer at the right price.
    Lew ‘agrees 3-year Barca deal’
Robert Lewandowski has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with Barcelona.
The Pole has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp after snubbing a new deal at Bayern Munich.
He still has a year to run on his existing agreement with the Bundesliga side but they have now confirmed that the forward wants to leave them.
The Times state that Lewandowski is set to join Barcelona.
And they report that he has verbally agreed to sign a three-year contract with them.
Now all that remains is for them to thrash out a transfer fee for him.
Confirming that Lewandowski, who has scored 49 goals for the club this term, wants to go, Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky Germany: “I spoke with Lewa.
“In that discussion he informed me that he does not want to accept our offer to extend the contract and that he would like to leave the club.
“He said he wants to do something else. But our position has not changed.
“The fact is he has a contract to June 30, 2023.”
Signing Frenkie could be a De-saster
Man United have been urged not to sign Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong.
The midfielder isn’t the right fit for Man United’s set-up, according to Steve Nicol.
He said: “If there’s one thing he doesn’t like it’s when there are people scurrying around him, closing him down, and I’m not so sure he’s the greatest at doing it the other way around.
“So if he goes to Man United, how’s he going to get the ball? Because they don’t have anybody to get him the ball.”
    ‘Utd in Kalidou talks’
Manchester United have taken a huge step closer to recruiting Kalidou Koulibaly, reports tonight claim.
Napoli’s Senegal star is expected to be one of this summer’s most wanted centre-back.
And the latest suggestion is that the Red Devils have made contact with his Serie A club.
Yet it’s also thought United preferred Raphael Varane at the start of the season, leading to his arrival.

Muller was close to Utd move
Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has revealed he was close to joining Man United when Louis Van Gaal was boss.
Muller told Merkur: “Bayern clearly rejected the whole thing – despite this insane offer from United.
“[But it was a] huge vote of confidence from Bayern.”
Dwight set to boss A-League club
United icon Dwight Yorke could begin his managerial career with A-League side Macarthur FC.
The former Manchester United striker, 50, enjoyed a one-year spell in Australia when he signed for Sydney FC in 2005.
He is now set to return, but this time his role will be off the pitch.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Yorke is in advanced talks with Macarthur, and a two-year deal is on the cards.
The Man Utd icon gained his coaching badges with the Red Devils who have helped kickstart his new career by recommending him to the Bulls.
Yorke will have a preview into life as a manager when he takes charge of the A-League Allstars for their upcoming game against Barcelona.
When speaking to ESPN ahead of the event, he said: “I’m announcing to the world – with the [APL] and Danny [Townsend, the APL’s managing director] giving me that opportunity – that I’m finally qualified and ready for a leading role.
“I think that will make some headlines. And then if there is an opportunity that does present itself then I have to look at it.”
Rangnick idea to ‘elect a Utd skipper’ blasted
United legend Andy Cole has blasted Ralf Rangnick’s idea that the captain should be “elected” by the players amid Harry Maguire’s poor form this season.
The Red Devils have endured a turbulent campaign.

From the sacking of legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, extending their trophy drought to over five years and missing out on a top-four finish. And things could yet get worse as United could find themselves playing Europa Conference League football next term.
David Moyes’ West Ham could do the unlikely and beat Premier League table toppers Manchester City on Sunday to draw level on points with United and edge them out to sixth-place on goal difference.
But one of the main talking points this season has been club captain Maguire’s leadership and form. The England international has become a lightning rod for criticism and has faced calls for him to be stripped of the captaincy and dropped from the starting eleven.
And interim manager Rangnick expressed last month that he “strongly” believes the captain should be elected by the team and not installed by the manager.
Leaked photos of ‘Ronaldo in United 2022-23 kit’
Leaked photos allegedly show Cristiano Ronaldo posing in Manchester United’s new kit for next season – boosting hopes he’s staying.
United cannot wait for the current campaign to end as they struggle to finish in the top six and reports of two players being pulled apart for fighting this week in training.

The club are about to enter a new era with Erik ten Hag due to take charge after agreeing a deal to join them from Ajax.
And now the shirts that the Dutchman’s stars will be wearing under him have been revealed by the United Stand.
Snaps have gone viral showing the new red Adidas jersey, which appears to have taken inspiration from their 1998/99 treble winning season.
Sporting a white collar, it includes the famous Adidas three stripes down the arms with the manufacturing company’s logo on the right breast, and United’s badge on the opposite side.
Toon head Utd and Chelsea in Ekitike race
Newcastle are closing in on Chelsea and Manchester United target Hugo Ekitike.
90min say the Toon believe they can soon complete a deal for the Reims striker, 19.
It’s claimed Newcastle wee hovering for Ekitike in January and that negotiations have continued.
The teenager is enjoying a breakthrough season, with Reims 12th in Ligue 1.
Red Devils look stern in training
United’s under-fire players are putting in the extra hours in the training pitch today due to their extra-long break.
Ralf Rangnick’s men are without a game until ending the season at Crystal Palace on Sunday, March 22.

And judging on the snaps below, the Red Devils didn’t seem too happy.
Portugal superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, in particular, looked deep in thought.
Maybe they are thinking about the fact Erik Ten Hag is tipped to be at Selhurst Park to watch them for the first time as incoming permanent boss.

Prem giants battle Barca for Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer, the Bundesliga giants have confirmed.
The Pole has been linked with a move to Barcelona, having snubbed a new deal at Bayern.
Lewandowski’s deal has one year left to run.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky Germany: “I spoke with Lewa.
“In that discussion he informed me that he does not want to accept our offer to extend the contract and that he would like to leave the club.
“He said he wants to do something else. But our position has not changed.
“The fact is he has a contract to June 30, 2023.”
According to The Times, Barca have agreed a three-year deal with Lewandowski and believe they can sign him for a fee between £25million and £35m.
Fren’s an enemy of Utd style
Man United have been urged not to sign Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong.
The midfielder isn’t the right fit for Man United’s set-up, according to Steve Nicol.
He said: “If there’s one thing he doesn’t like it’s when there are people scurrying around him, closing him down, and I’m not so sure he’s the greatest at doing it the other way around.
“So if he goes to Man United, how’s he going to get the ball? Because they don’t have anybody to get him the ball.”
    Kane tipped for United transfer
Harry Kane has been tipped to join Man United if Antonio Conte leaves Tottenham.
That’s the view of Italian super agent Roberto De Fanti.
He told CaughtOffside: “If Conte does walk away from Tottenham Hotspur, I think Kane will go too.
“And if that does happen, the only club the Englishman would want to go to now is Manchester United.”
    Man United’s most-important duo
Man United skipper Harry Maguire has often come under fire this season, but his stats since the summer prove he is actually one of the club’s two MOST-IMPORTANT players.
Fred too has been subject to criticism at times, despite enjoying something of a revival before his recent injury setback.
But the pair actually boast the highest Premier League win percentage out of anyone who has played 10 or more games for United this season.
Brazilian midfielder Fred has helped United pick up three points in 14 of his 27 Prem clashes, a win percentage of 51.9 percent.
Maguire’s win percentage meanwhile is the second best at the club.
The newly-married England defender has won 15 of his 29 Prem games, a win percentage of 51.7 percent.
    Roo must be joking
Man United and England legend Wayne Rooney looked unrecognisable as his court sketch left fans in stitches.
The Derby County boss, 36, was at London’s High Court for his wife Coleen’s legal battle with Rebekah Vardy.
After the opening day of court, a sketch of ex-Everton, United and Three Lions star Rooney sat alongside Coleen in the courtroom emerged online.
And it had fans in stitches as they quickly began taking the mick on Twitter.

    Ten Hag set for visit
Erik ten Hag could be in attendance for Man United’s last game of the season.
Ten Hag will take the reins at Old Trafford this summer.
But The Athletic have reported that the Dutchman may be in the stands to get a preview of his new club in action.
However, the report states that Ten Hag’s presence is yet to be confirmend.
    Why Man United aren’t playing
The FA Cup final has impacted Man United’s Premier League schedule.
Man Utd were supposed to play Chelsea at home this weekend, but the Blues made it to the FA Cup final against Liverpool.
    Therefore, the match was rescheduled.
    Ferdinand’s De Jong hopes
Rio Ferdinand insists Frenkie De Jong will be a great signing for Man United.
He said: “He doesn’t get too many goals or assists but he gives you many more elements of the game that, I think United need as a team; especially in that position.
“United are definitely losing Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, and Juan Mata, they are all leaving in that position, so it does need reinforcement.
“And I think he would be a fantastic signing, if this deal goes ahead.”
    United face De Jong fight
Man United face a fight prising Frenkie De Jong away from Barcelona.
That’s because Barca boss Xavi has revealed that De Jong is still very much part of his plans going forward – despite United’s interest.
Xavi declared: “I have said many times that Frenkie is very important. He’s a key player.
“Then there is also the financial situation of the club and it has to be decided. I’m not talking about Frenkie, in general.”
    Gary Neville’s Prem predictions resurface
Gary Neville has been left red-faced after his pre-season Premier League predictions resurfaced on social media.
The Manchester United legend reckoned the Red Devils were going to finish THIRD in the table.
But in actual fact United have already guaranteed a worst-ever Premier League points total, and the best Ralf Rangnick’s flops can end up is sixth.
But despite Neville getting that particular prediction horribly wrong, it’s arguably not even his worst guess on the list.
Neville did have Manchester City down to be champions and Chelsea and Liverpool to finish in the top four, but that’s about as far as he got in terms of success.
    Stay away from De Jong
Man United have been urged not to sign Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong.
The midfielder isn’t the right fit for Man United’s set-up, according to Steve Nicol.
He said: “If there’s one thing he doesn’t like it’s when there are people scurrying around him, closing him down, and I’m not so sure he’s the greatest at doing it the other way around.
“So if he goes to Man United, how’s he going to get the ball? Because they don’t have anybody to get him the ball.”
    Mulling over Man United move
Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has revealed he was close to joining Man United when Louis Van Gaal was boss.
Muller told Merkur: “Bayern clearly rejected the whole thing – despite this insane offer from United.
“[But it was a] huge vote of confidence from Bayern.”
Man United stars coach choice fury
Man United stars are reportedly not happy with the coaching levels at the club.
The United squad don’t think American coaches Rangnick’s coaches Chris Armas and Ewan Sharp are up to the standard set Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s personnel unit, according to The Athletic.
Armas and Sharp’s predecessors Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna were more suited to the task, the report states.

could miss out on De Jong as Man City, PSG and Bayern offer CL football
But Barca may request Bernardo Silva or Raheem Sterling as part of any deal.
Boss Xavi revealed this week that De Jong remains a key part of his plans.
But he conceded that the club could still sell the 25-year-old this summer.
He said: “For me, he is a very important player.

Man Utd stars in training ground FIGHT, Frenkie de Jong United transfer ‘AGREED by Xavi’, Cristiano Ronaldo future

MANCHESTER UNITED’S shambolic season has reached new levels of farce, SunSport can reveal. At the Red Devils’ Carrington training ground, boss Ralf Rangnick was forced to pull apart two senior players who became embroiled in a scrap.
But in more positive news, United have reportedly been given the all clear to sign Frenkie de Jong by Barcelona boss Xavi.
Erik Ten Hag is a long-time admirer of his fellow compatriot and is said to be eager to bring de Jong to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, English star Jude Bellingham has turned his nose up at the chance to sign for United in the summer.
And Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that everybody in the squad is ‘excited’ to work with the new boss according to the official club website.

    Three youth players receive promotion
Man United have reportedly promoted three youth stars to their first team.
But Youth FA Cup hero Alejandro Garnacho surprisingly didn’t make the cut, the Mirror reported.
The 17-year-old’s team-mates Alvaro Fernandez, Shola Shoretire and Teden Mengi received the call-up instead.
And the trio could feature in United’s match against Crystal Palace, the report also stated.
    Ronaldo’ makes trophy declaration
Cristiano Ronaldo claims Man United will win trophies next season under Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo told United’s media: “I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.
“We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well.
“I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.”
    Prem giants in Ndicka battle
Man United have reportedly joined the race for Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka.
The 22-year-old has impressed this season, helping the German outfit to reach the Europa League final.
And his form has caught the attention of Manchester United, according to Sport Bild.
It’s claimed the Red Devils are ready to rival Newcastle to the signing of the highly rated Frenchman.

    Dybala transfer scramble
Paulo Dybala’s agent is reportedly in London to hold transfer talks with Premier League clubs.
The 28-year-old forward is set to leave Juventus in the summer upon the expiry of his contract.
And there’s no shortage of interest in the Argentina international from the Prem.
Dybala’s agent, Jorge Antun, is currently in the capital to listen to offers from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Calciomercato.
    Good morning Red Devils fans
Man Utd target Arnaut Danjuma is available for £45million this summer.
Marca claims the bargain release clause kicks in following his stunning season in Spain.
Danjuma fired Villarreal to the Champions League semis straight after joining from Championship side Bournemouth.
But he could now be set for an immediate Premier League return, with Liverpool also interested.
Meanwhile, SunSport can exclusively reveal Man Utd’s shambolic end to the season reached a new low when two senior players had a full-on scrap at Carrington.
The shocking incident came towards the end of a training session at their base on Thursday.
The duo went at it and had to be pulled apart.
It brought the session to a premature end as all the team’s stars were ordered back to the changing rooms.
Even players used to bust-ups between team-mates were stunned.
Finally, Man Utd will oversee a transfer “revolution” under Erik ten Hag this summer.
Fabrizio Romano said: “It’s gonna be a revolution, I’m sure about that. I see a United revolution in the summer.
“Many players leaving on a free, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic.
“Also players that are still in the club with a contract, who want to discuss directly with Ten Hag about their future.
“Marcus Rashford, this is going to be a really interesting one because he’s out of contract in one year, with an option to extend for future seasons.”
    Ronaldo hints at United stay
Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will remain at Man Utd under Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo said: “I know that he has done a fantastic job at Ajax, and that he is an experienced coach. But we have to give him time.
“Things must change the way he wants. If he does well, all of Manchester United will be successful, so I wish him well.
“We are all happy and excited, not only as players, but as fans as well. We have to believe that next year we can win titles.”

The duo went at it and had to be pulled apart as it brought the session to a premature end with all of the team’s stars being ordered back to the changing rooms.
Ten Hag will want to hit the ground running once he finally arrives at United and he has already decided on his backroom team.
Now further details of McClaren’s role have been revealed by The Athletic.
They state that he will be “used on the grass” in training and that he will be helping the new man with “selections and player development” rather than performing an executive role.

And his form has caught the attention of Manchester United, according to Sport Bild.
It’s claimed the Red Devils are ready to rival Newcastle to the signing of the highly rated Frenchman.
Ndicka is out of contract at Frankurt at the end of next season, and a fee of just £17million is believed to be enough to secure his services this summer.
The Bundesliga side face the prospect of either selling on the cheap in the upcoming window or losing Ndicka for nothing in 12 months time.

Man Utd’s shambolic end to the season reached a new low when two senior players had a full-on scrap at Carrington.
The shocking incident came towards the end of a training session at their base on Thursday.
The duo went at it and had to be pulled apart.
It brought the session to a premature end as all the team’s stars were ordered back to the changing rooms.
Even players used to bust-ups between team-mates were stunned.

    Man Utd get Danjuma boost
Man Utd target Arnaut Danjuma is available for £45million this summer.

The England midfielder said: “The only future I think about is the next game for Dortmund.
“I look forward to next season. I look forward to it finally starting.
“But yes, I will be here next season and I will be ready.”
    Keane targeted revenge on Fabregas
Roy Keane threatened to “SMASH” Cesc Fabregas after claiming the Spaniard “killed” him with a brutal tackle in 2005.
The Manchester United legend was left fuming during the 2005 FA Cup final against Arsenal following a chunky challenge from Fabregas.
The ace said: “I tackled Roy Keane really hard and felt really good about it because he was always giving me a tough time.
“A few years later, Pique said to be that at half-time Keane said, ‘That Spanish friend of yours, I will smash him, he killed me’.”
    New era at Old Trafford
Man Utd will oversee a transfer “revolution” under Erik ten Hag this summer.
    Teams with most Prem titles
Man Utd boast a record 13 Premier League title wins.
However, the last time they topped the table was 2013 – Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season.
Will Erik ten Hag end 10 years of hurt next year?

Guardiola hits back at Berbatov and Evra criticism
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has begun a war of words with ex-United stars Patrice Evra and Dimitar Berbatov.
Evra slammed Guardiola saying he likes to have players who don not have personality meanwhile Berbatov claimed City lacked concentration versus Real Madrid as they allowed a place in the Champions League final to slip through their fingers.
When asked about the comments the former Barcelona boss hit back saying: ““It’s the same character and personality that lost in Madrid that we have had for the last years.”
“I’ve played against them, and I didn’t see this kind of personality when we destroyed United in the Champions League final.”
“You cannot have personality because you concede two goals in one minutes after you have chances to score?
“And after the last four league games we scored 19 goals so we have incredible personality and these kind of things?
“I’m sorry but I completely disagree. Personality is what we have done in the last five years every three days in all competitions.”

    Eyes on Ekitike
Manchester United are in the market for a new striker with Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani leaving the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo is 37-years-old so Erik ten Hag could be keen on a new long-term option.
Reims striker Hugo Ekitike could be on the move this summer after attracting attention from Newcastle and West Ham in January.
The 19-year-old has netted nine times in Ligue 1 during his break through year in France.
ESPN report is Ekitike someone Man Utd have a big interest in.
    Ferdinand welcomes De Jong transfer
Man United legend Rio Ferdinand has praised the imminent signing of Frenkie de Jong.
Ferdinand, 43, insists the Barcelona man would tick the necessary boxes.
He told Vibe with Five: “I’ve always thought he was a top player.
“I watched him closely in the Champions League semi-final year, I got to see a lot of him as part of the BT team.
“They’re saying Frenkie de Jong could be the first player to come in under Erik ten Hag and I would be saying ‘yes, great signing’.
“He’s not huge in terms of frame but he is quick with the ball, really good dribbler, can get out of tight situations, makes good decisions, good passer, his balance and dribbling ability are really good.
“(United) are a team who are looking for players who can control the ball and control the game and get the team functioning in terms of balance and possession, I think he would be a good addition.
“He’s not a player who scores loads of goals like Bruno Fernandes, but he’s more about dictating the game.”
United trying hard to get rid of Martial
The career of Man Utd forward Anthony Martial has stagnated after another underwhelming year at Old Trafford followed by a loan spell at Sevilla where he has netted just one goal.
The Red Devils are looking to offload him this summer potentially as part of a deal that gets them to sign another player.
Victor Osimhen is wanted by United and they could offer Martial as part of the deal according to Area Napoli.
It has also been reported that the Frenchman could be used in a deal to bring Inter striker Lautaro Martinez to the club.
    Going Dutch?
Erik ten Hag is already close to bringing in Frenkie de Jong, who he worked with at Ajax.
And now rumours are circulating another member of that Ajax squad could join Donny van de Beek at Old Trafford.
Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt is being eyed up by Man Utd.
That is according to journalist Oriol Domenech.
Why aren’t United playing this weekend?
Man Utd fans have got a break this weekend as their side are not in action and have just one match remaining this season.
They were scheduled to play Chelsea but because they are in the FA Cup final another date was set for the fixture.
Ordinarily, rescheduled games due to the FA Cup are put back to the approaching midweek.
However, because of the large amounts of cancellations this season as a result of COVID-19 on top of Chelsea’s cup runs in the Carabao cup and Club World Cup, they will instead face Leicester on Thursday 19th May.
    De Jong praised by Messi
Imminent new signing Frenkie de Jong has been praised by Lionel Messi.
The Argentina legend now at PSG, played with the 25-year-old midfielder at Barcelona.
Messi said: “(de Jong is a) very intelligent player.
Former manager Ronald Koeman also said: “When I arrived I told Frenkie: ‘This is your second season, you have to make a step higher now, you need to do more than just play along’. This sounds cruel, but he got the message.
I told him to take more responsibility. To arrive in the opponent’s box more.
“During these conversations I also involved Messi.
“Messi told Frenkie that he is a fantastic player. He becomes happy around a player like Frenkie, because he wants to have pure football players around him.

Van de Beek given three weeks to impress
Incoming Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag is rumoured to be giving Donny van de Beek a three week trial period to impress or he coudl leave the club.
The pair worked together at Ajax before he made the move to Old Trafford but there are apparent concerns over his ability to adapt to the English game.
The 25-year-old midfielder is struggling to get minutes on loan at Everton.
However a Frenkie de Jong and van de Beek midfield duo was the core of that incredible Ajax team that made the Champions League semi-final in 2019.

Manchester United’s football director John Murtough was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last night.

He netted five times in four matches last month.
In a tweet he wrote alongside a photo of himself holding the award, he said: “My second Premier League player of the month award, the sixth in my career.
“I’m as happy to win today as I was in my early days, the hunger for victory and achievements never fades away. Thanks to everyone that made this possible.”
Man Utd trail in race for Victor Osimhen
Arsenal are the team most keen on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Reports in Italy suggest it would take a bid of over £85million to secure a deal.
The fee could put Man Utd off with Cristiano Ronaldo set to stay and a move for Darwin Nunez still being considered.
Spurs are also interested in Osimhen.
McClaren close to joining Ten Hag
Former England manager Steve McClaren is set to re-join the coaching staff at Man Utd.
He worked alongside Sir Alex Ferguson when the club won the treble in 1999.
According to The Telegraph he is “definitely joining” and it would be “a major shock if it didn’t happen.”
Bayern Munich join the race for Paul Pogba
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Bayern Munich are the latest club to be interested in Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of this season and seems set to leave on a free.
PSG, Real Madrid and a return to Juventus are all possible destinations.
There is even the chance he switches red for blue as Man City are also rumoured to be keen.
His replace at Man Utd looks set to be Frenkie De Jong as he nears completion of his move.
Xavi gives green light to De Jong deal
Frenkie de Jong’s transfer to Manchester United has reportedly been signed off by Barcelona boss Xavi, in a huge boost to the Red Devils.
Deportes Cuatro report that the transfer will be completed in the following weeks for a fee in excess of the £64m Barcelona paid to sign De Jong from Ajax.
De Jong was of Barcelona’s standout performers under Ronald Koeman, but Xavi has been less impressed with him.
Cuatro claim the Barca legend wants midfielders better at retaining possession, in the mould of Pedri.
De Jong is also said to welcome the move after reportedly growing frustrated at playing second fiddle to Sergio Busquets.
And Barca are well aware that they will require another summer of sales as the Catalan club’s debt crisis continues.
Frenkie de Jong could be announced by Man Utd before the end of the season

The Portuguese superstar has urged United chiefs to give time to Ten Hag so he can sort out the farce at Old Trafford and end five years of trophyless agony.
Ronaldo, who has hit 24 goals this season, said: “We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well.
“I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.
“What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time.

But despite fears Ronaldo would look to cut his emotional return to United short, he looks set to continue.
That’s if Ten Hag has the 37-year-old as part of his plans for the future.
Ronaldo is also understood to be keen to remain in the UK as his son Cristiano Jr has settled into life at United’s academy.
And he believes partner Georgina Rodriguez — who previously lived in the UK while working as a nanny prior to meeting him in Madrid — will benefit from stability as they cope with the new arrival of their baby daughter and tragic loss of her twin brother. More

The former Bournemouth man has scored 16 goals in 34 games in all competitions this season, including an impressive six strikes in 11 Champions League outings.
And Danjuma has a £45million release clause in his contract that is valid THIS SUMMER, according to Marca.
A number of Premier League clubs are said to be sniffing around after Danjuma’s stunning debut campaign at Villarreal following a £21m switch from the Cherries.
Reports earlier in the season had suggested Danjuma’s release clause stood at closer to £65m.

But sources close to the player have now confirmed it is in fact £20m lower than that.
The news will come as music to the ears of the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
